What do you think of CMF Series 9 teaser release by TLG?
Mencot replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I like that TLG gave out an teaser, great idea and they could do it for some sets and stuff, like CMF and maybe exlusive sets but not for regular. But then how they made the teaser, I agree what Greysmith said: The quality, what is that, no no. TLG if you wanna make a teaser you can do better than that. Then an other thing, I know Facebook is like a big thing and a great way to get out stuff and info to alot of people at the same time. But they should use some other ways also at the same time, so those that don´t have (and don´t want) Facebook/twitter ASO -

Classic set reimagined: Black Monarch´s Ghost
Mencot replied to Mencot's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks guys, it is good that it feel that it is recognizable because I feared that I had strayed too far :) -
The entries should be "similar in style and size to the previous official TLG releases", hmm ok. Maybe I will try to make something this year :D

This is an awesome remake of an awesome castle. The roofs are great and you have build the castle with angle the roofs could have tiles but it is good.

Whoa awesome, don´t know why I have missed this thing. That thing is huge Great job. And so detailed, interior and all. You have done a huge work on this thing. maybe a stupid question but are you gonna make terrain around it also?
-
Really awesome stuff, altough not so Lego anymore. I see that you use green stuff , the best, I love to sculpture stuff with it. But I totally support this kind of customs, I have myself builded all kinds of miniatures, painted and modified GW figs when I was younger. Recently I also modified to Lego minifigures.

A remake/reimagine of a classic Lego set. Black Monarch´s ghost Also this is my entry into that category for CCCX. This was a very small Lego set and it was the first I got from the Black knights line when I was a kid. There have been alot of talk and speculations on diffrent Lego forums, whatever this ghost in this set is the Black Monarch or is it his ghost. I have gone with that the ghost is the Black Monarch that has come back to revenge his death, the knight in the set is/was his (not so) loyal right hand and the knight is now his successor. The small building in the set, reimagined it as the crypt where he is buried. Thanks for watching. Leave som C & C or the Black Monarch will haunt you too just kidding

Hopefuly we wont be getting this (or if TLG makes a remake that is Awesome, with just as many minifigs and horses) because it has been remade many times, Kingdoms 7946 the most recent: Ratherly I would like to see a remake then, of the epic epicness what started it all, The Yellow castle

Here are some custom figures I made for this years Classic Castle CCCX contest: The Royal Knight (fantasy) and The Minstrel (realistic) For the figs I have mostly used Lego parts that I have customised. On the royal knight I have also used Brickwarriors and Brickforge accessories. Occelot, the Royal Knight Gilbert the Wandering Minstrel Thanks for watching Some C & C would be welcome, what do you guys think, what could be done better, ASO

Awesome build Mark, I did see this on Flickr yesterday but didn´t have time to comment on it, so here goes. Again amazing detail on the terrain, but you are the terrain and cliff master :P and watermaster :D Great roofdesign on the castle, I too wonder is it reddishbrown bricks? Overall a very great job.

Review: 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders

As I said before, I don´t think Lego will make any new mold to make short legs but Here is the link: http://www.brickfortress.com/- 77 replies

Review: 79001 Escape from Mirkwood Spiders
Mencot replied to Big Cam's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Thanks for another great review. I will get this set too for the minifigs, that look really great. Those torso are awesome, big con on the elves still is the lack of putting a quiver on their back because of the hair. Lego seems to have made that the dwarfs can use one though, great but I feel that an elf should had needed it more. The small legs, yeah those get my anger up, I always curse Lego when I have to use them. But it is somewhat understandable that TLG hasn´t made them moveable because that would need an new mold for the hip piece. (But we always have custom, Brickfortress has made articulated minilegs :D) Totally agree and I will get it when on sale.- 77 replies

Thanks for the review Bigcam. Altough this set isn´t that special I will get it for the minifigs and th wargas, the rest is just plain brick surplus. The wargas could been better if TLG would had made the legs posing as the new horses, why not use this great new thing here also? But one thing that bug me with the orc minifigs, especially now with Yazneg, his ears are lacking. Ok he is bald but Lego should make up some piece for bald guys (maybe like the piece for Darth Maul and Savage Opress), he is a orc but he dosen´t have the pointed ears. The same goes for several orcs in diffrent LOTRs sets, its a small thing but annoying.

General Magma's LOTR Figures
Mencot replied to General Magma's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Cool stuff G. Magma, these look amazing. And that template is great, mind if I borrow it? If you don´t like custom, don´t come to "The minifig customisation workshop" thread to whine -
Whoa this is so amazing, your an exellent builder. All the floors on this creation, and that you can remove them like moduls is well done. Amazing Really like the bottom floor, with the temple like structure (green and red floor, beutiful) great arcitecture. There is like so much more one could say about this thing, but i don´t think there would be room for that
