  2. Thanks d-delay and BrickCurve. Useful information, as it will help me greatly. I think I am staying near Victoria Market area, so probably need to figure out on how to get there via public transport. Will consolidate them and check it out, yes I am there for a short holiday visit over this weekend.
  3. Where are the good places to look around for LEGO in Melbourne city area? Best, if you can provide me the location such as TRU, Kmart, Target, BigW, etc. Thank you.
  4. Thank you everyone for your encouraging and thoughtful comments. It is certainly nice to read all of these and I am very happy to know that you enjoyed this review. This is important as much as I put time to make this review possible. Yes, a flying carpet will be real good. Yes, they can be integrated with LEGO Friends. I have just tried Daisy Duck's ribbon and put it on top of Mia. I not sure as well. From what I understand, there are a few different adaptions. Thank you, updated and included in the review. I was thinking the same but I didn't want to harp on that point, especially when the overall series is severely lacking of minifigures' accessories.
  5. Thank you very much for your kind thoughtful comments. LEGO Superheroes complements with these mentioned characters very well. It was masked somehow due to my bugging error. I have unmasked it and rectify it. Thanks for alerting me. Thank you so much. I enjoyed setting those different scenes and scenarios. I am glad you liked it.

  9. Hello everyone, The long wait is finally over. The new LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 has appeared at my door step a few days ago and I have worked on it for the past sleepless nights to get this review out. I understand that some parts of the world has seen and own them. Some other LEGO communities also have been sharing their reviews too. I hope this review will not be somewhat repetitive or non-relevant to our Eurobricks Community. More importantly, I hope the long wait for this review is worth it. Before I begin this detailed pictorial review, I would like to give my sincere thanks to The LEGO Group (TLG) which include the LEGO CEE and LEGO Collectable Minifigures Design Team. As a Reviewer, this opportunity is indeed a great honour and I am exceptionally thankful for the support that you guys have rendered. Till this date, I have completed 19 exhaustive LEGO Pictorial reviews including this current review, solely for the coverage of the LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series / LEGO Minifigures Theme throughout the past six years. I am so glad that I am able to deliver this traditional review. I will like to thank Eurobricks Staff/LEGO Ambassador, CopMike and my entire fellow Eurobricks Staffers for being so helpful to this 'WhiteFang' traditional LEGO Collectable Minifigures (CMFs) reviewing endeavour.I must also thank my beloved wife, Kim/Belun for being supportive throughout this reviewing period! Otherwise, this review would never happen. It is important to have your family and loved ones to support the stuff that you enjoy doing and it also means doing up LEGO pictorial reviews which is no easy feat. I am truly pleased that I am able to able to continue to share this very special reviewing achievement with all of you. I hope I have not disappointed anyone in this review, if so, I offer my humble apologies and I really hope I can continue to meet your expectations for this exclusive reviewing coverage. Following Eurobricks tradition, let's do a formal re-cap for all of the past Eurobricks Collectable Minifigures polls once more. It started with a humble beginning of Series 1 followed by Series 2 in the year 2010 and it continue to spread like wildfire with another three strong waves of minifigures craze in the year 2011, putting Series 3, Series 4 and Series 5 in an excellent harvesting year. In the year 2012, we celebrated with Series 6, Series 7 and recent Series 8. With the beginning of year 2013, we have the recent Series 9, Series 10 and Series 11. In 2014, we have seen the LEGO Movie Series, The first LEGO Simpsons Series and Series 12. In 2015, we have the Series 13, LEGO Simpsons Series 2 and Series 14. In the beginning of 2016, we have the Series 15 and now I would like to invite the Eurobricks Community to cast their votes for this new LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 poll statistics as well. Name: 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 Theme: LEGO System / Collectable Minifigures / Disney / Series 1 Year: 2016 Minifigs: 18 unique minifigures Price for 1 box: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD $330.00 Price for 1 packet: USD 3.99, GBP 2.49, EURO N.A, SGD $5.50 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An image of an 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 The LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 main colour schema is pure blue. It resembles the 71004 LEGO Minifigures - The LEGO Movie Series colour schema. You could notice the close colour resemblance between both series. To some extent, it has a similar tint of blue which is reflected in the second 8684 LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 2. The chosen colour schema is certainly a fitting choice for LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series. [Reference 1] [Reference 2] [Reference 3] [Reference 4] What could possibly lurk within these mysterious sealed packets? The most incredible dream for many Disney fans in LEGO design The LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series is slated for worldwide release on 1st May 2016. This new Disney Series excites me greatly as it is a dream for both LEGO and Disney to crossover their Disney proprietary characters in LEGO minifigures format. This is not the first time where TLG and Disney is cooperating and they had worked on many other previously acquired LEGO Licensed Themes such as Star Wars, Pirates of The Caribbean, Prince of Persia, Disney Princess etc. Unlike the previous Series 15 where it was the true original traditional design, this new LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series has made several breakthroughs in LEGO history. For the past 18 LEGO CMFs releases, the total number has been restricted to 16 minifigures excluding LEGO Team GB in 2012. With the same count of 60 minifigures per box, this is the very first time that TLG had introduced a total of 18 minifigures based on Disney universe which is made up of classic and modern Disney characters. I will be highlighting them individually in this review. In you case you did not notice, I have also coined the effect that LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series may not be restricted to just a single series and it is highly probable that we will see the next series in the near future similar to our LEGO Simpsons Series 1 and 2. Even though the current packaging did not state any numbering, but I tend to speculate that won't be the end of LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series and it probably served a new breakthrough for other Disney characters to be introduced and conformed to LEGO Minifigures standards. I strongly suspect that we will be seeing lesser of the traditional CMFs series and perhaps more specialised series in the future. Either way, I am feeling hype with regards to these new designs. I am not exactly sure whats in store for the future of the LEGO Minifigures Theme even though we have wide speculation on the upcoming types for future series. There are no doubt that I hold high regards for the LEGO CMFs Design Team and I believe they will continue to surprise us with great designs in the future releases. IMPORTANT: Please note that the naming for all 18 minifigures that I have use for this review are official TLG minifigures naming for the LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1. Front view comparison with LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 and together with all available LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 1 to 15, LEGO Movie, Simpsons 1 and 2 packets I have placed all 19 different minifigures packets excluding the LEGO Team GB packet. I decided not to include the LEGO Team GB packet as I do not consider it as part of the mainstream even though there are others who may feel differently. From the above display image, you can see an impressive transformation of LEGO CMFs Series 1 to the recent LEGO Series 15, and now to the current Disney Series 1. It is so wonderful to be able to see all of them from a top view. The LEGO Minifigures Theme is still a force not to be reckoned with and remains a very strong contender in the TLG product range since 2010. Take a closer look at the following images. This is the front view of the LEGO Disney Series 1 packet, while this shows the back view of it. This is an image that shows the back view comparison for all of these packets. To the regular readers of my LEGO CMFs review, you probably notice that this paragraph has been mentioned numerous times, because I personally feel this is the most effective method to acquire the highly sought after minifigures without taking any drastic measures. This is the 'same' golden rule, which has been mentioned in my previous reviews. If you are intending to collect the precious and hard-to-find minifigures, please hone your skills for the touch and feel method. It is an important skill to acquire to locate the minifigures that you want without spending too much money to randomly acquire them, especially so when you are intending to buy large quantities. Your sole mission is to memorise and remember the minifigures assortments for each of the specialised designs. Isolate and identify the most unique accessory or accessories for the particular minifigure. From there, eliminate the torso, head and legs and feel for the other parts. The sole disadvantage of this method is that much time would be wasted if the minifigures that you are looking for have been taken from the box. You might also end up with sore numb thumbs after feeling them. However, I personally feel that this approach is the most practical that works the best for me than any other uncommon approaches. Front view of the LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 promotional poster This is the first time where the full listing of characters has been rotated into a landscape manner instead of the typical portrait layout. Back view of the LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 promotional poster As you flip to the back of the promotional poster, you will notice a set of simple instructions to guide LEGO fans who are not familiar with the fixing of fabric cloth, placement of tail and minifigure parts correctly. In this case, there are five minifigure designs which require some form of basic instructions to guide our very young builders who may not be too familiar with these unique complicated parts. It is a simple illustration to make sure you placed it correctly. 1) Presenting Stitch Without further ado, let's bring out the first Disney character minifigure and is none other than our mischievous Stitch. Stitch was first appeared in Lilo and Stitch movie, released in 2002 by Walt Disney Feature Animation. Stitch, also known as 'Experiment 626' is an alien created by Dr. Jumba Jookiba and he was the protagonist in this movie. Can't believe that his cute and adorable appearance will render him to be a bad guy in this movie. Stitch is designed to be mischievous, and his primary function was originally to destroy everything he touches. His powers include super intelligence, super strength, being fireproof and bulletproof, night vision, x-ray vision, and infrared vision. I am sure it was intentional not to reflect the true nature of Stitch in a destructive menacing manner, but it showed a lovable cuddly appearance. I supposed this is because Stitch is accepted as part of Lilo's family. Parts assortment The parts assortment for Stitch is very minimum. This minifigure only come in three parts and zero accessories. However, it has an accurate Stitch's reference design on the specialised moulded head and it can be easily recognisable by others. It is rather adorable due to the sheer short size of a koala bear due to the use of the short legs. Stitch comes with good back printing on his head and body which can be seen from his back view. I suspect this character could be quite popular and one of the highly sought after. I have discovered a new alien type in this strange planet Rounding up the different alien species Presenting Stitch performance Meet my new friend, Stitch This will make a fine exhibit in Jurassic Park I wonder which one of them will become their dinner? 2) Presenting Alien LEGO Toy Story fans are in for a nostalgic treat. The Alien from the Pizza Planet is back in action after a hiatus of six years since it was first appeared in these LEGO Toy Story sets. Alien was part of the first theatrical release of Toy Story in 1995, produced by Pixar Animation Studio and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The movies were released subsequently in part 2 and 3 in 1999 and 2010 respectively. In the first movie, the aliens are found in a claw vending machine at Pizza Planet that Buzz Lightyear climbs into. They believe the crane is a kind of deity who sometimes selects one of their kind to go to a better place. One alien in particular was picked up by Sid, which then put Buzz Lightyear in view. Sid then went after him. Woody tried to escape the machine with Buzz, but the Aliens pushed them back out, not wanting to upset The Claw. It is the most memorable scene for me and because it has large existence of it. I wonder how many of you could go out to amass an army of Aliens. Parts assortment The parts assortment is very basic as well. It does not have any accessories included, but comes with good back printing and from the side view, you are able to view the outline of the Alien mould. I had to open a mint polybag of 30070 Alien Spaceship to give you a fair comparison between those two designs. As you put them side by side, the immediate obvious difference could be the eyeballs placement. The Alien on the left is the older design, while the Alien on the right is the current design. Their differences can be noticed from the space suit attire and bottom of the legs as well from their back view. Now, can you guess which one is the newer Alien design? Toys Gallery Our new alien comrade Don't run away with my spacecraft 3) Presenting Buzz Lightyear To continue the Toy Story movie, we have another new character from there and is none other than Buzz Lightyear. He is a toy space ranger hero under Star Command and basically a popular action figure. Along with Woody, he is one of the two lead characters in all three Toy Story movies. His often repeated catchphrase is "To infinity... and beyond!" He is one of the most iconic characters in Toy Story universe and the decision to re-create him in LEGO minifigure format is pretty pleasant surprise. Parts assortment The parts assortment for Buzz Lightyear is pretty good and the main parts come from the building up of the space ranger armour suit. The wings are detached and require to connect to the main armour suit. Once the wings are done, you can view the full wing span from the back view as well from the top view for the helmet placement. The side view reveal this side has a printed red laser finder as well as prints on the side of the legs. While the other side show good printing excluding the red laser finder. Buzz Lightyear has been appeared in several LEGO sets earlier until 2010. However, there is a significant design difference which reside mainly in the head. Instead of using a moulded sculpture head, Buzz Lightyear appeared in a regular minifigure head design. Thus, to give a fair comparison, I opened this mint polybag of 30073 Buzz's Mini Ship. When the parts were poured out, I found this separate sealed bag of Buzz Lightyear unique body parts and I suspect the production facility is the same as when it is being produced currently. Putting both Buzz Lightyear side by side, you will notice the contrasting difference on their heads and the rest of it looks relatively the same even from their back view. When you flip to the side view, you will noticed there is additional printing at the side for the new design. Next, you removed both of their space suits and you can see more printing differences from their torsos at the front and at the back. Both have its advantages and disadvantages and which version could you honestly prefer? I like the newer version as it can integrate well into my existing LEGO minifigures. This is just my personal preference. New Kid from Star Command joining Classic Space Taking part in Star Wars adventure You are under arrest and you shall surrender 4) Presenting Aladdin The next LEGO Disney movie plot for Aladdin comes from this 1992 Walt Disney Animation known as Aladdin. He was the protagonist in the movie. Aladdin was a street rat and he met this beautiful girl in the marketplace. Aladdin falls madly in love with her at first sight, but he gets into trouble when their meeting is interrupted by guards who arrest him. She reveals that she is actually Princess Jasmine. In prison, Aladdin met an old man who mentions a cave filled with treasure and that he needs Aladdin to enter it. And that's where the fun adventure begins for Aladdin. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average. The genie lamp is the only given accessory and it was previously released before. However, I felt the design of this character is very well made. I like the overall attire and it can be quite versatile to create generic villagers. There is back printing and from the side view, it show the stylish black hair with his fez on top. I am also fond of his smirk and confident facial looks. Return the lamp to us immediately Someone save me, please Are you my genie? Meet my other-half twin brother 5) Presenting Genie Continuing the Aladdin plot, we have a chance to be introduced to a new character known as the Genie, a powerful magical being. He was released from a magical oil lamp by Aladdin in the collapsed Cave of Wonders. After he reveals that he can grant three wishes, Aladdin has started making plans for the Genie. I think this is a very nice movie to watch, for those who are not familiar with the fate of Genie and I thought it is best to leave it there as there are some twist plots for this classic Disney movie. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average and it included the very same lamp as Aladdin. I can't blame the repetitive of this accessory since the Genie primary home is within the lamp. The reference design is pretty accurate to the real Genie and is easily recognisable due to the azure blue. You can view some of the fine golden decorated details from the back view and side view. Well, this is not the first Genie design that we have seen and I wondered which original variant could you prefer? Different kind of Genies Did I grant you the correct wish? Aladdin meeting Jasmine Who should we trust? Genie or Fairy? Aladdin and Genie 6) Presenting Maleficent The dark evil character known as Maleficent has appeared. Maleficent first appeared in 1959 Sleeping Beauty, released under the Walt Disney Animated Classics series. She is the antagonist of Walt Disney's 1959 film Sleeping Beauty. She is characterised as the "Mistress of All Evil" who, after not being invited to a christening, curses the infant Princess Aurora to "prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die" before the sun sets on Aurora's sixteenth birthday. Subsequnetly, a movie on Maleficent was released in 2014 to show a more different side of her true nature. Either way, this character is truly wonderful and well designed. This character is also my wife's favourite as she told me that her appearance is real spot-on from what she could remember. Parts assortment The parts assortment is very good. It comes with two pieces of fabric cloth to depict her robe. The outer robe is black in colour while the internal fabric is purple in colour. The horn headpiece is very nicely done up. Do note that the horn piece is made up of soft rubbery material. Her dress design upon closer look reveal a good colour contrast of black and purple together. The magical staff is also a fine piece of accessory to wield her magical powers. You can view the robe detail from the back view and side view. Respectable Magical Figures Minions, I summon you to rid of my enemies The young princess belongs to me Arm yourself and prepare to suffer my wraith 7) Presenting Alice Now we enter into a new realm of fantasy and into the world of Alice in Wonderland. This was a 1951 movie produced by Walt Disney Productions and based on the Alice books by Lewis Carroll. There are many variations and adaptions on this movie. One of the common plot, is seeing Alice falls down a rabbit hole into Wonderland after following the White Rabbit. Meeting many characters and changing her size several times, she eventually finds herself at the trial of the Knave of Hearts as a witness. Ordered to leave by the King and Queen of Hearts, Alice argues with them, eventually claiming that they are just a pack of cards. As they swarm her, Alice awakens on the riverbank and realised that it was just a dream. Alice is one of the new Disney minifigures which I am looking forward to. Parts assortment The parts assortment is excellent. It has a brand new skirting piece for Alice and two wonderful brand new accessories which is the 'Drink Me' bottle that rapidly shrinks Alice, while the 'Eat Me' cookie that rapidly expand herself. These new accessories are lovely addition into the minifigures accessories. You can view the nice hair details from her back view and side view. Do note that there is quite an extensive usage of two-tone printing at the arms of the minifigures. I am feeling so hungry Meet the royal family Somehow, I am feeling shorter and shorter Join us for a lovely party 8) Presenting Cheshire Cat Continuing the story of Alice in Wonderland, we get another surprising character and is none other Cheshire Cat. I am surprised to see this character as I thought Mad Hatter or White Rabbit could be significantly popular. Either way, I find Cheshire Cat to be very adorable with the well designed wide-grin smile. He is a mysterious pink and purple striped cat with a devious, mischievous personality. The Cheshire Cat has a permanent smile on his face and can disappear at will. The cat is a very odd being able to reshape his body to either amuse or frighten his visitors. He's very mysterious, and in his own way, very dark. Like all members of Wonderland, the Cheshire Cat is mad, but unlike the others, he admits it with pride. I think this will be a very popular unique character with a class of its own. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average but the overall design is very accurate as compared to the reference design. Thumbs up for the specialised moulded piece for Cheshire Cat. It is excellent and well recognised. The colour scheme matched very well, including the placement of the tail which can be seen from the back view and side view. What are you staring at? Cat Affinity I am going to catch it before it disappear Cheshire Cat and Alice 9) Presenting Daisy Duck One of the classic original Disney characters has appeared in LEGO. Simply can't believe how did they manage to sculpt this awesome highly detailed characters' heads. This will continue to marvel you in the next few minifigures. Allow me to introduce Daisy Duck. She is an anthropomorphic duck created by Walt Disney. She was created as a female counterpart and girlfriend for Donald Duck. Daisy has Donald's temper, but has far greater control of it and tends to be more sophisticated than her boyfriend. She was originally a minor character featured on special occasions in cartoons starring Donald Duck, Daisy would eventually become a recurring character in Disney productions. Parts assortment The parts assortment for Daisy Duck is pretty good. It has a white duck tail which can be placed at the back. The pink ribbon is needed to help beautify Daisy Duck. You can take a moment to view the detailed minifigure effect from her back view and side view. I have to admit that it captured the essence of the character very well. This is such an adorable baby Daisy new friends Our lovely daughter, what has happened? 10) Presenting Donald Duck The next iconic Disney character in line is Donald Duck. Donald Duck is a character created by Walt Disney. He is a white anthropomorphic duck of light blue eyes with a yellow-orange bill, legs, and feet. He usually wears a sailor shirt, cap and a red or black bow tie, but no trousers at all. He is best friends with Mickey Mouse. Known for having a fiery temper, a humorous voice, and having appeared in many cartoons, films, video games, comic books and more, Donald is one of the most iconic Disney characters of all time, as well as among the most popular. True enough, now he is appearing in actual LEGO minifigure sizing. Parts assortment The parts assortment is above average. Similar to Daisy Duck, Donald Duck also has a white duck tail placed at the back. As for me, I like the blue sailor cap very much. It fit Donald Duck's head in the perfect alignment. You can see many of the fine details from his back view and side view. Viewing Donald Duck design and I could not find any flaws to it. Simply very well done. Donald new friends Reporting for duty Donald Duck and Daisy Duck 11) Presenting Minnie Mouse The next iconic Disney character which will be showing is Minnie Mouse. We are very near to the main highlight of this series. Minnie Mouse is an anthropomorphic mouse created by Walt Disney. She is the girlfriend of Mickey Mouse. Minnie Mouse is sweet in nature and fun-loving. She is widely recognised by her large collection of big bows of different colours that sit atop her head. In most media or production appearances, Minnie Mouse is presented as a best friend of Daisy Duck. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty good especially seeing her don in the iconic dress design coloured in red with white polka dots including her pink ribbon. Her eyelash on the eye lid distinguish herself as the female counterpart. Not sure if is the same for all, but I realised the connection between the leg and torso for the new wavy skirt design appeared to be loose when they are connected together. It is exceptionally obvious when you are attempting to bend the minifigure in a sitting position. Somehow, the leg and torso will break away. It seems rather apparent for my Minnie Mouse minifigures though. Do take a moment to see the fantastic details from the back view and side view. You will be our new star highlight for our TV show No, you can't possibly be a Jedi Check out my Minnie Mouse outfit 12) Presenting Mickey Mouse This is the main highlight for the series and I got to admit that Mickey Mouse is extremely accurate. Anyone can just instantly recognised this iconic classic Disney character. Mickey Mouse is an animated anthropomorphic mouse created by Walt Disney in 1928. Mickey is, by far, The Walt Disney Company's most famous character and serves as the company's mascot. He is easily recognised by his red shorts with white buttons, white gloves and large yellow shoes as well as his round mouse ears. There is simply little reason, not to resist this iconic character. You do not need to be a LEGO collector in order to acquire this Mickey Mouse. A true Disney fan could definitely get this character without any hesitation. Parts assortment The parts assortment is nil. There are only three parts and yet these parts hold the significant iconic design of what Mickey Mouse being represent for. I can't exactly find any reason to criticise this character as TLG had managed to stay true to its original design. You can see it for yourself from his back view and side view. We are pleased to have you in our town Darth Mickey leading the Empire to victory Autograph Session in progress Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse The original Disney Characters 13) Presenting Mr. Incredible After looking at the earlier iconic Disney characters, we are here with Mr. Incredible. He is part of the movie known as The Incredibles, produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. In the movie, Mr. Incredible is a person born with superpowers. He was one of the most famous heroes of his era, and was known for his skill at fighting crime. At some point, he met and fell in love with fellow superhero Elastigirl. However, soon after the two married, bystanders who had been injured during crime-fighting attempts began to file lawsuit. The backlash forced superheroes like Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl into retirement and witness protection. Mr. Incredible resumed the name of Bob Parr, and began a civilian life with Elastigirl, now in her civilian identity as Helen Parr. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty decent, especially with the unique 2x2 printed tile that state 'Doing our Part'. which I assumed that superheroes standing up and doing their part to protect the citizens from danger. The overall design is nice which you can see from his back view and side view. Would you like to join The Avengers? Come and join the Justice League 14) Presenting Syndrome Fighting against Mr. Incredible, we have the villainous Syndrome who is the main antagonist. His real name was Buddy Pine. When he was young, Buddy approached Mr. Incredible to be his sidekick but was ultimately rejected. This rejection served as an insult to him and with his intellect, Buddy has begun to go down to a much darker path. Eventually through his ultimate robotic invention 'Omnidroids' and murdered many superheroes before Mr. Incredible. This is quite an interesting minifigure to plot good versus evil in your play setting. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty decent. Apart from the black cape, it has an unique 2x2 printed tile which entail the mechanical controls of the deadly Omnidroid. I am fond of that accessory as it is useful to serve as computer control panels for controlling robotic stuff. As you turn to the side view, there is an utility gauntlet that used zero-point energy to forbid others' movement which is a fine design detail. We need your capability to aid our evil cause My evil robotic soldiers Syndrome and Mr. Incredible 15) Presenting Peter Pan Introducing the next classic Disney character and it is the child-like Peter Pan. He made his first appearance in 1953 through an animated fantasy movie entitled Peter Pan. Ever since that release, there were many different kind of adaptions of Peter Pan. Peter Pan is a young boy who lives on the island of Neverland. He has a pixie called Tinker Bell who is his best friend and sidekick and he is the current leader of the Lost Boys. He spends most days going on adventures and battling the notorious pirate Captain Hook, which will be introduced shortly. Personally I am fond of this character very much in LEGO design due to the possible integration of elf-like warrior in flesh format. It will be a good exploration. Parts assortment The parts assortment is quite good. Peter Pan comes with two pearl golden daggers, but I chose to equip him with just one dagger instead of both. I prefer Peter Pan to wield just a single dagger as it look quite weird for him to hold both even though the official poster encourages it. I simply just treat the other dagger as spare element. The overall design is excellent with its back printing and the fine detailing of the elf ears from the side view. Men in green outfit Prefer it to have short legs Our Elf counterparts 16) Presenting Captain Hook Next-in-line, is the evil Captain Hook who battle against Peter Pan. Captain Hook is a full-fledged captain who is in-charge of a crew of pirates aboard the Jolly Roger. Captain Hook has long abandoned sailing the high seas in favour of having revenge on Peter Pan for ruining his life. While a worthy opponent for Peter Pan, Hook is destined to fail, sometimes because of Peter Pan's ability to fly, but more often through the bumbling actions of his mate Mr. Smee, who is unquestioningly faithful to the Captain, but is incompetent and dim-witted. Parts assortment The parts assortment is pretty average but the overall design for Captain Hook is outstanding. The design is able to capture his evil grin and his fanciful red velvet outfit accompanied with his red crimson hat with a white feather atop. His left arm is equipped with a hook, courtesy of Peter Pan for causing his miserable fate. You can see his fine details of this design through his back view and side view. Evolution of Pirate Captains You should prepare yourself You are not getting anywhere Peter Pan and Captain Hook 17) Presenting Ursula This is the last Disney movie which I will be highlighting. Bringing the face of the deep oceanic bottom, there is an evil that never sleeps known as Ursula. The 1989 animated Disney movie which is based on the novel by Hans Christian Anderson is famously known as The Little Mermaid. Ursula is a villainous cecaelian sea witch who "helps" unfortunate merfolk to achieve her own goals. By nature, Ursula is very dark in tone, with a wicked sense of humour. After her banishment from Atlantica, the sea witch established herself as a physical beacon of hope towards unfortunate merpeople, allowing them to strike deals and business propositions that would supposedly result in their happiness, should they successfully fulfil their end of the bargain. Parts assortment The parts assortment is average with the inclusion of the pearl gold trident. The overall design is excellent. This is the first time where we had seen an actual boobs in a LEGO minifigure sizing. It is quite revolutionary to be able to come up with such a well made mould for the upper leg connecting to the torso. The surrounding tentacles are menacing as observed from the back view and side view. Carry out this mission for me Mythical Creatures Watch your back 18) Presenting Ariel This is the last minifigure in LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 and it is the gorgeous beautiful Ariel. Ariel is the main protagonist in the Little Mermaid movie. Ariel is a bright, spirited mermaid with a strong passion for adventure and exploration. Her tendency to explore the more mysterious depths of the ocean can lead to an array of problems to both herself, her friends, and in the confines of her personal life—as seen through her constant confrontations with her protective father, King Triton. Nevertheless, Ariel's selflessness, compassion, and intuitive way of thinking often resolves such problems, as she always takes full responsibility for her actions. Through her adventures, Ariel fell for a human named Eric and she risked everything for her true love. Parts assortment The parts assortment is good with the inclusion of the pearl shell and pink gem. That was not the main highlight for me. I rated this as one of the best minifigures in this series is because of the overall sheer accurate design of Ariel in LEGO minifigure format. This is not the first time that we have seen a Mermaid design but the entire appeal in her scarlet red long hair simply make her endearing. Her torso contain back printing which surround her lavender pearl-shell bra. You can see more of the minifigure details from the back view and side view. Royal Mermaid Subjects Meet both Ariels What is our escape plan? My Prince Charming Playing around with the Mermaids Taking off the tail What do you think of my hairdo? Ursula and Ariel General statistics for 71012 LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 Below is the combination which I have received from my box, 4 Stitch(s) 4 Alien(s) 3 Buzz Lightyear(s) 3 Aladdin(s) 4 Genie(s) 3 Maleficent(s) 3 Alice(s) 3 Cheshire Cat(s) 3 Daisy Duck(s) 3 Donald Duck(s) 3 Minnie Mouse(s) 4 Mickey Mouse(s) 4 Mr. Incredible(s) 4 Syndrome(s) 3 Peter Pan(s) 3 Captain Hook(s) 3 Ursula(s) 3 Ariel(s) Based on the above distribution, I have managed to achieve only three full complete sets of 18 one-of-a kind minifigures each. It means I will have 6 spares left. Read below to find out what are the remaining spares I have. My remaining spares 1 Stitch(s) 1 Alien(s) 0 Buzz Lightyear(s) 0 Aladdin(s) 1 Genie(s) 0 Maleficent(s) 0 Alice(s) 0 Cheshire Cat(s) 0 Daisy Duck(s) 0 Donald Duck(s) 0 Minnie Mouse(s) 1 Mickey Mouse(s) 1 Mr. Incredible(s) 1 Syndrome(s) 0 Peter Pan(s) 0 Captain Hook(s) 0 Ursula(s) 0 Ariel(s) Data Analysis Given the above data which I have compiled and received, I have indicated my comprehensive analysis based on my individual viewpoint for the very first time of 18 unique characters in a single series. By buying one full complete MISB box, it will allow you to achieve three complete sets. Despite the increase of two unique minifigures in this series, I am very pleased to note that the ongoing LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 is able to continue with this desirable ratio of having three full sets in a sealed box of 60. I feel the appeals of these minifigures have achieved a brand new desriable level despite the restrictions and limitations which the LEGO CMFs Design Team has to work with. The LEGO CMFs Design Team's best judgement is based on the support of market research data and probably parts per piece count manufacturing process in order to determine the distribution ratio. As you have noticed from the given distribution ratio, the normal spare minifigures which we normally see is a total of 12, whereas in this case, this is just 6. It also means there is few redundancy by able to eliminate the possibilities of distribution of five out of the equation. This also let us know that the distribution count has been spread out appropriately. The remaining six are probable high possibilities of people wanting more of those designs like the most iconic Mickey Mouse where every person who know and like Disney could certainly turn to Mickey Mouse. The others are Stitch and Alien which is high potential army builders. To be honest, I am not quite sure which will be the popular one in this series and I am guessing minifigures like Stitch, Cheshire Cat and Maleficent could be quite popular. This is just purely guesswork. I don't quite understand why the other 3 spare minifigures was given to Mr. Incredible, Syndrome and Genie. If given a choice, I could exchange it with Peter Pan, Minnie Mouse and Aladdin. This is just my personal preference. This is definitely my shortest brief ever on distribution ratio because it is so well balanced and I can't find any reasons to complain. This is perfect 10. I strongly believe there is enough for everyone to buy them without much stress in the open market. Because complete collectors will likely buy a box, leaving themselves with little unnecessary spares. TLG has done a great job to reduce the spares by 50%. To conclude and summaries, based on the probability demonstrated by this review, as an example, here are the results, High probability 1) Stitch(s) 2) Alien(s) 3) Genie(s) 4) Mickey Mouse(s) 5) Mr. Incredible(s) 6) Syndrome(s) Total range: 40% Each: 6.67% Medium probability 1) Buzz Lightyear(s) 2) Aladdin(s) 3) Maleficent(s) 4) Alice(s) 5) Cheshire Cat(s) 6) Daisy Duck(s) 7) Donald Duck(s) 8) Minnie Mouse(s) 9) Peter Pan(s) 10) Captain Hook(s) 11) Ursula(s) 12) Ariel(s) Total range: 60% Each: 5% The LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 will be launching on the 1st May 2016 (worldwide) To conclude, the LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 has once again impressed us with another new level of specialised crossover between LEGO and Disney and successfully integrate them into regular LEGO minifigures format. It is a dream come true for those who loved and adored Disney characters and this series is able to bridge both universe together into your regular LEGO theme or play setting. This new series will also greatly appeal non-LEGO fans and it will probably reach out to a much mass wider audience than ever before. People who are not familiar with LEGO, may not probably not familiar with Disney. Most people could instantly know who is Mickey Mouse without giving much thoughts and the push factor to be able to own such a wonderful LEGO minifigure design based on the Disney character is much greater especially with the affordable cost of per packet. This will be very effective for causal buyers who are new to LEGO and felt lukewarm reception towards Disney. My personal critic is the severe lack of new accessories. I was hoping there are more new accessories given to these minifigures. However, most of the characters are stand-alone design without additional props. However, I still wish to see the original traditional series and not focusing more towards the licensed or singular series. Traditional LEGO CMFs series appeal widely to masses and I know for certain that TLG is not really intending to focus on the traditional stuff anymore. I could sense there is a shift in their marketing and design approach. Only time will tell if the change in the LEGO CMFs will sustain and continue to appeal to many. It is no easy challenge to be able to create, design and introduce many new creative and original designs to attract to the masses. The LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series or known as LEGO Minifigures Theme is an unique commanding class of their own, which distinguish themselves from regular LEGO Theme or special releases. Now with a total of 307 minifigures released for the entire Series 1 to 15, the recent LEGO Movie Series, LEGO Simpsons Series 1 to 2 and the current LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1, not including Mr. Gold which unfortunately I do not have the blessings or lucky stars to own it till this date, and the special exclusive Toy Soldier and Zombie Skateboarder minifigures that can only be obtained through The Minifigures Character Encyclopedia books respectively. At this rate that it continue to release, I wonder how many of us need to upgrade the display shelving area to accommodate for future expansion. For myself, I don't have the space to display all of them anymore until further notice. I truly wonder what more exciting new series will TLG have for us. Only time will tell and let's be patient about it. I am confident that it will be worth the wait. Please note that all opinions and content shown in this Eurobricks pictorial review is from 'WhiteFang' and is not meant to represent LEGO official views. It is purely stated to share as a vantage point of a reviewer. Please note that the The LEGO Minifigures - Disney Series 1 do not contain the placement of LEGO spare parts/accessories. This was practiced since the start of LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 3. Summary review Playability: 9/10 (Outstanding integration between both LEGO and Disney universe to increase playability through cross-themes.) Design:9/10 (Excellent outstanding moulded specialised pieces for the Disney characters as well as great detailing on the designs.) Price: 8/10 (I hope pricing will remain the same for this new Disney Series, otherwise it will hurt my wallet badly.) Overall: 8.7/10 (Prepare yourself for this unprecedented new Disney Series and get a mint box when is possible.) I gave it a "5" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? 10. Thank you everyone for your comments. It's very interesting to read what you think and what you like or dislike about this set. I supposed this is just to keep Fortex to be placed at a stationery state, when needed. Even though, Fortex is really meant to be mobile. Well, I could love to house more of the evil books which is why I got two boxes of it. However, I tend to view this set as an useful parts pack, rather than to expand and continue further. Ava is one of the push reasons for me to get another. That is a pleasant surprise. I haven't decide whether to get Fortex or not. It's still in my wishlist though. Surely. I am interested in Ninjago but I haven't managed to get any new sets for 2016 just yet.
  11. Title updated. Thanks.
  12. Thank you very much guys. Glad you enjoyed reading it, as much as I am doing it.
  13. Hello everyone, I am back again to share my next LEGO Nexo Knights review. I have earlier reviewed the 70325 Infernox captures the Queen and 70327 King's Mech earlier, and both sets gave me tremendous playing pleasure till this date. Well, it didn't just stopped there and I finally picked this new 70324 Merlok's Library 2.0 to complement my small LEGO Nexo Knights collection. I don't think I will be collecting every single set but pick and choose that I like. Without further ado, let me share another of this new excitement. Name: 70324 Merlok's Library 2.0 Theme: LEGO System / Nexo Knights Year: 2016 Pieces: 288 Minifigs: 3 minifigures Price: USD $24.99, GBP 19.99, EURO 24.99, SGD $34.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 70324 Merlok's Library 2.0 Back view of the original box image of the 70324 Merlok's Library 2.0 This appears to be a low lying fortress wall instead of a library What can I expect from this set? Judging from just the set name, I thought this is going to be a set to be filled with library materials containing a wide range of library references and books, similar to those archives of LEGO Harry Potter in Hogwarts. However, this does not seem to be the case. This library is actually a prison to imprison a book known as 'Book of Revenge'. Merlok is the wise wizard in the realm and he knows it require an impregnable fortress to contain those terrible books of evil. Thus, this is actually a semi-watch tower with prison installation. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with two mint numbered packs, an instruction manual and a sticker sheet to decorate the library façade. I decided not to apply these stickers and retain its vanilla appearance. It is most likely I might break the set later for parts and I don't want stickered parts to be in the midst of it. Once the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts in packet 1 and packet 2. I am also pleased to see these spare printed disc shooters. Two unique Nexo Knights Power Feel free to use the above image and let it be part of the fun virtual part of scanning those shields into the app. In this set, these are the two unique LEGO Nexo Knights power which is known as 'Ice Dragon' (your enemies will skate on a crystal trail) and 'Toxic Sting' (summon the scorpion, but watch out). You can use my image and try to scan into your app. It will be quite an eye-opening experience. Book of Revenge Before I start with the minifigures, I would like to highlight this new amazing design of a LEGO book. This newly updated book design is way better than the traditional foldable book which is divided into two halves. Whereas, the improved design utilised these building parts to form the Book of Revenge. Beneath the cover of this book which appear to have hideous claw marks on it, it revealed an evil spirit attempting to claw out of the book. This evil spirt from the Book of Revenge will allow Court Jester to amass and increase his evil powers. This is why such evil books are under tight supervision in an enclosed secured area. Do note that those designs are printed nicely and the book edge are well designed to allow minifigures to hold the book with ease. Introducing Crust Smasher, Lance Richmond and Ava Prentiss I am pleased to introduce another three new minifigures from my collection which I am glad to own them. These minifigures have nice overall printed outfit and back printing too. I am also pleased to note their alternate facial appearance for Lance's wink confident looks. First of all, let me shed abit of detail on Crust Smasher. The Crust Smasher minifigure is a lava soldier holding a scimitar and appeared in this set and 70311 Chaos Catapult. His outer appearance is filled with solid lava stone crust with molten lava on the inside. I suspect he liked to smash things and enjoy chaos. Lance Richmond is one of the five Nexo Knights and is well known for his perfectionism and the likes of media attention. From my understanding, Lance is a noble and raised like an aristocrat equivalent. He didn't have to suffer any sort of hardship and he like things to be as perfect to his wishes including his overall physical appearance. Like his name, Lance, he is specialised in jousting through his medieval lance looking weapon. Till this date, Lance Richmond also appeared in 70312 Lance's Mecha Horse and 70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile. In this set, Lance is equipped with a jet pack and his full assortment is made up of this. You can see the awesome detailed armour from his side view and this view. You can see the placement of the jet pack clearly from the back view. Ava Prentiss is exclusive to this set and a tech-whizz child prodigy. She is an outstanding freshman in the Knights of Academy and is sensitive to technology. She is able to grasp difficult abstracts and assist Merlok greatly in the technology enhancement for the Nexo Knights. She used her equipped game gear to help her troubleshoot in times of difficulty. Well, I always had that impression that Ava is a royal princess by King and Queen Halbert. The entire building content for Packet 1 The completed built for Packet 1 Upon finishing packet 1, you can see the partial built of the Merlok's Library 2.0 base. You are able to turn behind and see from back of the partial-built. There are other completed built like Flame Bat. All minifigures are also included in the first packet. The completed built of the Flame Bat To ensure a successful attack on the Nexo Knights, they have highly destructive assault fast craft as well for quick interception. Like this Flame Bat, it has a powerful ball shooter to wreck buildings from the air. The overall built does remind me of some feature of a bat. It is able to stand well for a minifigure to control the flight. As you shift it to the side, then I noticed it looked more like a dragon head than a bat. Do note that the bottom of the ball shooter is adjustable. The entire building content for Packet 2 The completed built of the Merlok's Library This is the completed built of the Merlok's Library. It is not a library filled with references and books, instead it is a fortified prison for evil books and in this case, the Book of Revenge is imprisoned here. As you turned and looked at the other side, you can see this sparse built that featured a centre watch tower with two low lying walls to keep threats at bay through these shooting blasters. The lower level contain a control panel which takes care of the security controls. At the upper level, this is where the Book of Revenge is kept locked away from others. The lower level contain highly energised disc shooters to fend against unexpected enemies. However, this proved to be useful against the Flame Bat. The ball shooter will fire across and hit the top of the energised banner and break the prison wall away. I do hope the Nexo Knights is aware of this vulnerable attacking point. This will show the broad overview of the playing features. To me, I find this set very useful to do either border watch outpost or an extended fortress. Do you know that this set can expand and combine with the 70317 The Fortex? When the Fortex is opened up, this will increase the internal space for Fortex and allowed more activities to be carried out in there. Lance and Ava looking across the wall Break open the prison bars Outpost meeting We are under ground assault To conclude, this set is an above average set. I enjoyed the overall built and even though some might felt it is simple and rather futuristic. Well, I think the colour schema works well and complement with the rest of the Nexo Knights set to boost integration and playability. I am glad the price which I have bought was pretty much worth it due to the good assortment of parts. This is the only set which I have bought two boxes as I thought it will be good to expand the borders a little. I am still not too sure on where and how I will carry on with theme as I am still deciding on what to buy to complement my collection further. Time will tell whether there are going to be more of these new LEGO Nexo Knights in my collection. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Good decent playability which allow integration with other sets and the breaking of the prison wall.) Design: 6/10 (The centre of the tower is done nicely but I felt the two fences will be a better improvement.) Price: 8/10 (Price is very reasonable as it is a promotional set and with these nice parts.) Overall: 7.3/10 (A good decent value for money LEGO Nexo Knights set which could be good for sampling.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about you? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed. 17. Hello everyone, I am back with another short review on this wonderful new LEGO Nexo Knights. Apart from the promotional giveaway of 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon in Singapore, the 30371 Knight's Cycle was the other promotional polybag when you purchase SGD$30 (equivalent to USD$21) worth of Nexo Knights products in an atrium at a selected Toys R US outlet as part of their marketing activities. It is wonderful to be able to acquire another different type of polybag for this theme. Without further ado, let me begin with this review. Name: 30371 Knight's Cycle Theme: LEGO System / Nexo Knights Year: 2016 Pieces: 38 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original polybag image of the 30371 Knight's Cycle Back view of the original polybag image of the 30371 Knight's Cycle The fast scouting bike in Nexo Knights This new polybag is a fun nifty cute motorbike. It is not common to see a semi-medieval looking soldier sitting on a mini-motorbike riding in those lands. Well, this one-seater motorbike is good enough to go for quick insertion into conflicting war zones and getting out of it very soon. It will probably be very useful for reconnaissance mission as well as for supporting other Nexo Knights in combat. The LEGO building content The polybag contains 38 building parts. You can see the front view and back view of the instruction manual that showed the detailed steps for this construction. These are the remaining spare parts. Front view of Knighton Royal Soldier So glad to see more of these wonderful generic Royal Soldiers in polybags as there are not many generic soldiers being made available in regular LEGO Nexo Knights set in large quantities. Unfortunately, this metallic looking Royal Soldier does not come with energy armour unlike in those small box sets like the 70310 Knighton Battle Blaster and 70311 Chaos Catapult. There are back printing and alternate subtle facial appearance which is not seen in this image. The completed built of the Knight's Cycle The Knight's Cycle is designed to be fast and quick, similar to a speeder. Likewise, my first impression that this is more like a mini-bat pod for the LEGO Nexo Knights. A few of these Knight's Cycle will probably form a good reconnaissance section to gather inteligence. I could also use this bike for border patrol as well. The overall size make it look quite adorable. It is coupled with two stud shooters blasters at the front of the bike and equipped with throttles at the rear. You can take a closer look at the assembled built of the Knight's Cycle from the side view. Jousting on a motorised bike Awaiting for command Good and enjoyable fun with the rest of the LEGO Nexo Knights sets To conclude, this is an average good playing polybag. My complaint is the missing of an energy armour and I will certainly prefer a sword instead of a jousting lance. I think this is a great promotional giveaway but I am not sure if it will entice fans to get it off in the secondary market. Personally I think a reasonable USD$4 to $5 is acceptable based on the standard LEGO polybag rates in the United States. All in all, I am glad to have this polybag and at the same time, able to own more new LEGO Nexo Knights sets. Summary review Playability: 7/10 (Fun to move it around and shooting blaster.) Design: 6.5/10 (Decent cute nifty motorbike.) Price: 7/10 (If you get it as part of the promotional deal, then is definitely worth it. Otherwise don't pay more what it perceived to be.) Overall: 6.8/10 (Nice generic looking royal soldier to increase the total of the soldiers accompanied with a good polybag design.) I gave it a "3" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

  21. Mighty Max. Well, it is not possible to see Bluebird Toys being integrated into LEGO though. It was marketed to boys, while Polly Pockets was targeted at girls. It is fun to see microscale figs in pocket sets like Doom Dragon, Ice Mountain, Werewolf Space, etc. I still keep all of those. The slightly bigger ones like Magma and Skull Mountain. Extremely fun to play with. I used to combine them with my Micro Machines stuff altogether. It was the good old 1990s where toys are really meant for playing, unlike now. I stopped Mighty Max after the first wave and the classics are good enough for me. This is last warning.
