REVIEW: 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you for your comments! I am very pleased with this polybag but it will be a full completion for me if it include an armour for the minifigure. No news as of now. We can't buy this off-the-shelf unlike in the US. This is part of the promotional giveaway in Singapore. Well, the name sounds 'bigger' than it appeared. -
Hello everyone, It has been great fun for me to be able to review these new LEGO Nexo Knights recently. Fortunately, when I was buying these new LEGO Nexo Knights set, there is a promotional giveaway of this awesome 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon. As long you purchase SGD$30 (equivalent to USD$21) worth of Nexo Knights products in LEGO Certified Stores (LCS) or Toys R US in Singapore, you will be entitled to this polybag for free. It is certainly a great incentive to venture into this new theme. Without further ado, let me share with you on this simplistic review. Name: 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon Theme: LEGO System / Nexo Knights Year: 2016 Pieces: 43 Minifigs: 1 minifigure Price: USD N.A, GBP N.A, EURO N.A, SGD N.A Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original polybag image of the 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon Back view of the original polybag image of the 30373 Knighton Hyper Cannon A good defensive artillery placement to protect the kingdom This new polybag is a value-for-money fun playing supplement to your LEGO Nexo Knights. It comes with a static light-weight hyper cannon that allow long range ballistics to fend off enemies or even take it to the war zone to provide suppressing counterfire. More importantly, I like the fact that it include a generic royal looking soldier to protect the kingdom defenses arming with appropriate battle outfit. It is pretty fun to play with. The LEGO building content The polybag contains 43 building parts and is largely meant to build for the Hyper Cannon. You can see the clear front view and back view of the instruction manual that showed the detailed steps for this construction. These are the remaining spare parts. I like the advertising on the instruction manual which promotes the scanning of Nexo Power shields and I actually doing the actual scanning whenever I could find a new one. Front view of Knighton Royal Soldier I welcomed more of these wonderful generic Royal Soldiers. In fact, there are not many generic royal soldiers being made available in regular LEGO Nexo Knights set in large quantities. This metallic looking Royal Soldier does not come with energy armour unlike in those small box sets like the 70310 Knighton Battle Blaster and 70311 Chaos Catapult. If the armour was given in this polybag, it could have been perfect. There are back printing and alternate subtle facial appearance. The difference can be spotted at his lips alignment which is very hard to notice at a quick glance. The completed built of the Hyper Cannon The Hyper Cannon is surprisly compact and well equipped. It has dual-barrage hyper cannon for long range ballistics while dual short-blasters shooters for close range defensive. The Hyper Cannon is able to rotate 360 degrees and can be shifted upwards up to about 45 degrees maximum on flat grond. The four-legged stand can be elevated for additional height to adjust the range based on the target grid. The target grid can be computed in this sophisticated artillery controls which happened to be a slope printed brick. That was a welcoming surprise for a small polybag. Which one will be more deadly? King Halbert, we will protect our borders no matter what To conclude, this is a very fun playing and well-designed polybag. My only complaint is the missing of an energy armour. Other than that, I think it will be a good static defenses that can be easily placed in different parts of the kingdom. I think this is an excellent promotional giveaway but I am not sure if is worth the efforts to acquire them separately in the secondary market. I don't think this promotional polybag should be given for top dollars. A reasonable USD$4 to $5 will be acceptable based on the standard LEGO polybag rates in the United States. Overall, I am glad to have these wonderful polybags through the means of buying these new LEGO Nexo Knights sets. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Fun to rotate and adjust the Hyper Cannon, coupled with stud shooters.) Design: 8/10 (Good compact artillery looking design.) Price: 8/10 (If you get it as part of the promotional deal, then is definitely worth it. Otherwise don't pay more what it perceived to be.) Overall: 8/10 (Nice generic looking royal soldier to increase the total of the soldiers accompanied with a good polybag design.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about yours? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are strongly welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

REVIEW: 70327 The King's Mech
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thank you for your comments! Well, it has to match with the cartoon series. Even the King's bot is necessary, I wish there was at least an additional minifigure. Good or bad doesn't matter but I figured that TLG have advertised King's bot and count it as a minifigure. To me, that's not a minifigure count. -
REVIEW: 70325 Infernox captures the Queen
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks guys! Appreciate your thoughtful and interesting views. Perhaps, we could see the Series 15 Queen skirt torso being used for future Queen's design? It is quite possible since the King's crown piece has been used on King Halbert. That is an embarrassing mistake. Thank you Aanchir for letting me know. I somehow got it messed up. I haven't watched the opening episode of Nexo Knights, but judging from the general sentiments. It appears Queen Halbert is no damsel in distress. So, this could be just her peaceful outfit rather than her combat outfit. If that's the case, I hope there will be an updated design with her weapon by her side. That tail is a nice playing factor. I tend to adjust it low enough to swipe soldiers on the ground. Speaking of which, the next set that I am really looking forward to find out the Black Knight's Mech design. I hope it can live up to my expectations as this whole Nexo Knights theme is starting to give me positive vibes. -

Dear all, Unfortunately due to overwhelming real-life work, my wife and I will not be able to make it for this year's EB event. I have updated Boney separately and we have tried our very best to configure around but I just can't get it back to Singapore in time even I took consideration to cut short of the attended event. Thus, regretably... My wife and I won't be there to join in those fun awesome activities. Fond memories indeed from two years ago. Have great fun and please share more photos! WhiteFang -
REVIEW: 70325 Infernox captures the Queen
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Dear Eurobricks Community, I would like to share with all of you on my latest new review on the 70325 Infernox captures the Queen. Feel free to leave your thought and I hope you will enjoy reading it. Thanks. WhiteFang -
Hello everyone, I am back again to share with you my next LEGO Nexo Knights review. When I reviewed the 70327 King's Mech earlier, I knew I need to find a decent companion or at least an opponet to fight against with in order for me to increase the playability for that set. I looked at the recent released sets and I felt the new 70325 Infernox captures the Queen is going to be my next immediate set that I buy. It can only be bought in Toys R US in Singapore as it was an exclusive set. I supposed this will be the same arrangement for other regions. Without further ado, let me bring you the new adventuring review of LEGO Nexo Knights. Name: 70327 Infernox captures the Queen Theme: LEGO System / Nexo Knights Year: 2016 Pieces: 253 Minifigs: 2 minifigures Price: USD $24.99, GBP 19.99, EURO 24.99, SGD $44.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 70325 Infernox captures the Queen Back view of the original box image of the 70325 Infernox captures the Queen Come and face me alone if you wish to save your beloved Queen The flamming Infernox is quite a monster menace. I find this name, Infernox quite familiar. With a simple search, I was quite surprised that it seemed somehow related to the actual small Power Miners lava monster back in 2010. I am quite confident that they are related. This Infernox must be summoned from the Book of Evil by Jestro the Jester. I always wanted to have a medium-sized monster for the evil armies to summon such inferno monster. Thus, I am very glad to see such a nice design surfacing in the Nexo Knights realm. In my collection, I can replace the 8962 Crystal King as my new updated version of summoned Inferno Monster. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with two mint numbered packs, an instruction manual and a sticker sheet to beautify the hover horse and Inferonx. Thank goodness, it is just a few stickers. However, I decided not to apply and choose to retain the vanilla appearance after completing the built. Once the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts in packet 1 and packet 2. To my pleasant surprise, I am pleased to see TLG include a spare printed disc shooters. Two unique Nexo Knights Power As I have mentioned in my earlier review with regards to the fun virtual part of scanning those shields into the app. In this set, these are the two unique LEGO Nexo Knights power which is known as 'Lava Dragon' (unleash the most grumpy and dangerous of dragons) and 'Time Breach' (time flies when you are having fun). You can use my image and try to scan into your app. It will be quite an eye-opening experience. Instruction Manual - The full characters listing Introducing Aaron Fox and Queen Halbert I am very pleased to introduce these two new minifigures. The Queen Halbert minifigure is exclusive to this set and a fitting companion to King Halbert. I am really glad that the Queen appeared in such a fairly reasonable priced set and the colour scheme is well suited for her regal appearance. Both minifigures have nice overall printed outfit and back printing too. I am very pleased to see their alternate facial appearance for both minifigures, in particular Aaron's wide grin which gave me a very special feeling. That smile is definitely one of a kind. Aaron Fox is one of the five Nexo Knights and is well known for his excellence. From my understanding, Aaron is action driven character that specialised in his unique sleek blazer bow. He enjoyed hovering around with his Nexo Shield and that will get him quickly from point to point. Till this date, Aaron Fox has also appeared in 70313 Moltor's Lava Smasher and 70317 The Fortex. You can see this awesome detailed armour from his side view and back view. Meet King and Queen Halbert The entire building content for Packet 1 The completed built for Packet 1 Upon finishing packet 1, you can see the partial built of the Infernox. You are able to see some close-up views from here and here. There are other completed built like Aaron Fox's Hover Horse. Both minifigures are also included in the first packet. The completed built for the Hover Horse To match the capability for futuristic battle, the designer has successfully constructed a new steed for their faithful Nexo Knights. We don't see any traditional horses anymore and this highly articulated steed has transformed into a hovering horse for the knight to charge in a fast and furious manner. The Knight's accessories can be securely stowed away as it ride off to lightning speed through the rocket blasters. I was quite sceptical of this design until I built it. I noticed the designer has done good efforts to outline the horse in a high-technology fashion which could still be identified with ease. Aaron speeding off to his mission The entire building content for Packet 2 The completed built of Infernox This is the completed built of the Infernox with his mouth wide opened. Measured at 12cm tall, this Infernox Monster is just 5cm shorter as compared with the King's Mech. The overall built is very well articulated with firm footing. It contained good shooting playability through their disc shooter from the wrecking hammer. Do note that the wrecking hammer is able to maintain its position from the Infernox's arm. It can be secured nicely through the usage of the technic pin that hold these parts together. The design enable the Infernox to pose at various confronting angles and I enjoyed playing with it. I am much particularly fond of the hidden prison which will enable Infernox to keep the captured prisoner safely within its hot flaming body. By opening the chest, you are able to see a comfortable fitting spot for the prisoner to be kept away. You might want to note that this Infernox can be combined with this 70316 Jestro's Evil Mobile for cross integration. Please note there is a printing error at the box and it should be combined with 70317> Please note the difference in the set numbering. Side view of Infernox Back view of Infernox Infernox versus King's Mech A small play scene through these wonderful new LEGO Nexo Knights set Never fear and never give up! To conclude, this set is an above average set. I enjoyed this Infernox very much and it can be used outside of Nexo Knights realm which I have plans for it be as a summoned creature by Evil Wizards. The minifigures selection is nice, especially with the inclusion of Queen Halbert but it is a pity that there are just only two minifigures. I noticed that minifigures' count in the new LEGO Nexo Knights are quite limited in numbers. All in all, I enjoyed the built and played with the set literally. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Good fun playability on the Infernox itself with the wrecking hammer and hidden prison.) Design: 8.5/10 (Excellent monster design with a devilish touch.) Price: 7.5/10 (Price is quite reasonable but it is best to get it with good discounts, if possible.) Overall: 7.8/10 (I enjoyed this set very much and I think this is one of the best set ever, if you wish to sample LEGO Nexo Knights.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about you? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

REVIEW: 70327 The King's Mech
WhiteFang replied to WhiteFang's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Dear Eurobricks Community, I would like to share with all of you on my latest new review on the 70327 The King's Mech. Feel free to leave your thought and I hope you will enjoy reading it. Thanks. WhiteFang -
Hello everyone, I am very pleased to share my first LEGO Nexo Knights review in Eurobricks. I can't believe that I have actually bought a set from this new theme. In fact, I have bought a couple of them as well. I am going to find more opportunities to share my thoughts with all of you on these interesting new theme. When the official images were released, the 70327 King's Mech was the first on my wishlist. To entice myself further, there was an ongoing LEGO polybag promotion giveaway in Singapore which pushed me to take the plunge and this set is the first sample. Thereafter, there is no turning back for me as I continued to venture a little deeper into this theme. To be honest, I don't think LEGO Nexo Knights will appeal to medieval AFOLs as this new theme utilise castle and futuristic technologies coupled with some steampunk technology for mobility enhancement. However, I noticed this new theme appeal greatly to children and have huge enjoyment with them, receiving positive feedback from my colleague's children. The LEGO Nexo Knights appeared to be well marketed and perceived to be way better than Legends of Chima. It has a good mix of elements including good storyline, new parts and good designs. This is way better than Knights Kingdom II. Name: 70327 The King's Mech Theme: LEGO System / Nexo Knights Year: 2016 Pieces: 375 Minifigs: 2 minifigures and 1 bot Price: USD $29.99, GBP 29.99, EURO 32.99, SGD $44.90 Resources: Brickset, BrickLink An original box image of the 70327 The King's Mech Back view of the original box image of the 70327 The King's Mech Isn't this the most awesome royal looking mech ever? The King's Mech is designed by Robin Underwood which is meant for King Halbert, so he can used it to defend the people of Knighton. This set is extremely well-designed and I really love this mech very much. It has a regal appearance and complement well with the futuristic front. I noticed that this new theme contain little minifigures count. I do not count the King bot as a minifigure, even though TLG categorise it as one. The main reason why I love this set is for the actual built of the King's Mech and the minifigures. I don't really recall any good medieval mech looking designs released as of now. The content of the sealed box The sealed box come with three mint numbered packs, an instruction manual and a sticker sheet to decorate the mech. However, I have decided not to apply them and to retain the vanilla appearance after completing the built. Once the set is built, these are the remaining spare parts in packet 1 and packet 2. Download the LEGO Nexo Knights: Merlock 2.0 app Before I continue to talk about the set, I thought it will be worthy to mention the new Merlock 2.0 app. It can be downloaded at Apple platform and I have actually downloaded onto my iPhone and trial out. It is surprisingly fun and interactive for children to play with. It can level up and clear quests, more importantly there are a total of 154 powers to collect! That is massive and it kind of motivate the children or avid digital collectors to collect them all. Each shield reveal a special power. In this set, these are the two unique LEGO Nexo Knights power which is known as 'Storm Dragon' (these dragons will shock you when angry) and 'Backfire' (vengeance is a dish best served cold). You can scan the physical shields and connect it with the digital app. Trust me, you will feel so 'wow' that you are actually seem to digitising the entire experience. You are able to trial out the different acquired powers in the training ground and it is incredibly child friendly for its app user-interface. This is an excellent combination of having physical and virtual experience complementing one another and reinforcing the product knowledge. The minifigures line up I am very pleased with these two minifigures even though at this pricepoint, I really wish there is one more minifigure addition. The King Halbert minifigure is exclusive to this set and one of the reason why I wanted to acquire this set is because I find the appearance well crafted for LEGO Crown Knights alternate king. The overall outfit with pearl gold and royal blue cape complements well, plus the new King's crown design. Both minifigures have nice detailed back printing too. The Flamethrower villain is style with black mohawk, quiver and red devilish facade. It is quite a menacing fitting appearance but with just one minifigure against the King's Mech equate to no match. The Flamethrower has also appeared in the 70312 Lance's Mecha Horse. The King's bot is a robotic guardian or sidekicks to aid King Halbert to operate on the flying shield. I am not particularly fond of these robotic sidekicks and this does not appeal to me greatly and it last reminded me of the Galaxy Squad robots. I like the traditional cone helmet though and after you take it off, you can see the King's bot alternate comical facial appearance. The new LEGO Nexo Knights shield is pretty amazing. It allows the powers to be interchangeable and replace to whichever you desired. This is made possible through this brand new shield element. I am happy with this fun playability and at the same time, I realised something disturbing. As there are only two powers to utilise, why can't TLG provide or include an additional shield holder as 'extras'. I want all my LEGO Nexo Powers to be equipped with a shield for immediate usage but it really force onto the builder to interchange the powers more frequently which could be TLG's intent. I don't like to take on and off as it might cause loss of friction through wear-and-tear. I do hope TLG might consider their stance and include it as a form of 'spare' parts. King Halbert and King's bot Both Kings side by side The entire building content for Packet 1 The completed built for Packet 1 Upon finishing packet 1, you can see the partial built of the King's Mech. You are able to see some close-up views from here and here. There are other completed built like the Flamethrower’s double crossbow stud shooter and flying shield. All of the minifigures are also included in the first packet. The completed built of the double crossbow stud shooter This is quite a small built for the double crossbow stud shooter with minimum adjustable height. I personally think the main highlight is the new crossbow stud shooter element. It utilise the concept of click-blaster and now it is available all other forms of weaponry like the crossbow. It is a very cool weapon and it increase the playability. You can place the Flamethrower at the shooter with ease and he is ready in position to engage combat. The completed built of the flying shield with trusty King’s bot at the controls I am not a particular big fan of this flying shield design. It is quite a nice sleek spacecraft with modern sophisticated flight controls. It is commanded by King's bot and able to render quick assistance to the King's Mech in combat by causing a diversion or quick engage with the enemies. I suspect the children will enjoy the playability of this flying shield as it can disengage from the King's Mech quickly. The entire building content for Packet 2 The completed built of the King's Mech This is the completed built of the King's Mech without placing the flying shield at his left arm. Measured at 17cm tall, this King's Mech is a force not to be reckon with. It is very sturdy and firm, plus it boost with good playability. It is very well complemented with dual firing blasters on the left arm, while the right arm is grabbing the brick-built giant sword. The giant sword is able to hold well in the mech's arm through the use of the technic pin to reinforce the integration. This also allowed the brick-built giant sword to change the facing of the direction whenever is appropriate. King Halbert will be placed at the centre of the mech cockpit and the knight visor will deploy and cover the minifigure completely. Do note that the 'Backfire' shield is in-use. There are a pair of combat wings revealed at the back as well as a winding key which appeared to be able to wind up to charge like some toy soldier? The minifigures' weapons can be placed at the back of the King's Mech with great convenience. You can take a moment to admire the detailed different views of this King's Mech without shield from this side view, back view and the other side view. Below are some nice poseable photos which I have taken to demonstrate its fullest glory. This is also to illustrate the high poseability of this mech. The King's Mech is ready for full combat Side view of the fully equipped King's Mech Side view of the fully equipped King's Mech Back view of the fully equipped King's Mech Separate and launch the shield The King's Mech is charged and ready for immediate combat Comparison with other LEGO mech designs What is that giant looking thing stopping right in front of us? Stopping enemies advancement To conclude, this set is an above average set. It was love at first sight and I really loved this mech design very much. High points for the overall mech design which is highly posable and imitatiding. Any ideas who is the set designer for this set? I really want to find out who is the designer for this set and reviewing it is one way to show my appreciation to the designer. Good design for the new King's minifigure. It pleased me greatly to be able to build and review this set with great hype. My greatest disappointment is the stickers which is expected and I choose not to apply and the original vanilla look is equally appealing. The lack of the actual third minifigure for this price-point and also the lack of an extra shield to place the other Nexo power. Summary review Playability: 8/10 (Good fun playability on the mech itself and you probably be spending more time posing and playing with the features.) Design: 8.5/10 (Excellent mech design and it has a wonderful appeal.) Price: 8/10 (Price is quite reasonable as this is a discounted set in Singapore.) Overall: 8.2/10 (I enjoyed this set very much and I think this is one of the best set ever, if you wish to sample LEGO Nexo Knights.) I gave it a "4" based on my Review Score Card. What about you? I hope every one of you enjoyed reading this simple review of mine. Comments and Criticisms are welcomed. Pictures can be found in My Flickr.

Thanks guys for your thoughtful comments! I am really glad you have enjoyed reading it. Trust me, it is surprisingly sturdy and well integrated. I shifted mine to numerous location before I dismantle it for storage for eventual display in the future. If you are using the baseplate, it will not be as sturdy as it is as the overall weight will force the baseplate to wrap downwards.
