Nope. That is not the fact !! You will get 10% in LEGO Market but no reduction in PAB!! (right now!) Of cause that might change. if i remember this correctly, the girl in windsor asked me about me having a season ticket for a reduction...
-
i propose we get a season ticket. it will cost 46

thanks people here's the thing: suppose you've been beamed down by Scotty, or droped by a small craft... whatever ... on a strange new, possibly hostile planet. you look around all day but can't find anything interesting. Still you decide, with your crew, to set up the tent and not to take a return ticket to the mothership... in the morning you wake up with a weird smell in your nose... you look to the left to ask your crew member about it, but then you see a weird dinosaur creature with a human arm in his jaws... suddenly to your right you see another monster thinking "hm... dessert has woken up! great! then we can play with it before we eat it!" Not on my watch! that's why i created the mobile platform. it's basically a base camp that you can use for long term missions, like archeological digs, excavation of mines,... the general idea is that it carries whatever material/machines are needed to a selected site, where the platform will no longer operate as a mobile transporter, but a static platform, high above the ground. it will also provide the crew with power, liquids, whatever... at that point, it's become a mobile home... but, as jipay suggested, it can also be used as an ordinary transport vehicle in case flying is extremely difficult or dangerous... i wouldn't like to fly in a storm on jupiter, for instance... it really needs some work, tho...

obviously the Dutch! the VOC (Verenigde Oostindische Compagnie) is legendary for it's international trade. the company even had her own army, and probably was the most powerful entity in Europe in the 17th century (the dutch call this the Golden Age)! so i can see a set with a huge transport ship accompanied by a smaller military vessel,...

Anyone find Vikings in London yet?
snefroe replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
you might wanna check out the John Lewis store in Oxford street; they didn't really have much lego and i don't think vikings has already hit the retailers, but you never know... -
red is marine exp. unit (remember the nickname "lobster"?) blue... hm... isn't that limited to officers and lower ranker staff (midshipman,...) in brittish navy? there is "a the spanish influence" because tlc mixed two historical eras in one theme. the spanish soldiers refer to the 15-16th century; the brittish troops refer to 18-19th century.

i think, pirate, that we're not addressing the quality of lego plastics. lego has been awarded for producing the best plastic product of the 20th century, if i'm not mistaken. there's no discussion on that... i believe jngunsw's remark was on copying models, this time copied by TLC. i think it's not a surprise to see extremely similar products from different companies. there are many companies in different economic sectors who are producing very similar stuff, like shampoo, lotions, medecins,... the world of toys is really no exception... it's also not a surprise to see TLC copying others. no doubt, they've done this before... we just don't know about it... these things happen all the time... However, what strikes me in jngunsw's example is the concept of the set: there is one large truck and a race car in both sets and they're even presented in the same way... it suggests that both companies are fishing for the same customer and they're not afraid to copy each other's work, not just an idea for a set, but entire sets...

Some kind of intereview/chat transcript
snefroe replied to Mister Phes's topic in General LEGO Discussion
i've read this before... what i still don't know is why we have this dark grey and dark bluish grey. is tlc still using both colors, is one of them going to disappear, was there a production problem that lead to the existence of both,...? -
sorry for all the confusion , people. What i meant was that eb announced the news of the combo set a while back. then it was taken off the eb website (i'll assume eb was asked to do that, because tlc didn't want to announce the combo set at that point) . that hasn't happened in this case, suggesting that tlc approves the unofficial announcement of these new sets via eb... that leads me to believe we can expect more surprises before december, that's all... it's just a wild guess...

Anyone find Vikings in London yet?
snefroe replied to The Middleman's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
i think you're best chance is to take the train to the Kingston Lego shop; -
sure... but remember the story of the combo set? wasn't that confirmed by Mr.X as well? and wasn't that taken off line as well?
-
a calendar would indeed be great. didn't they confirm the news to Sam? doesn't that suggest they approve of this info getting out?
-
it is a surprise, tho, that tlc already approves of this news getting out. it makes you wonder what they'll be releasing between sept-dec 2005. it has to be either exceptionally brilliant or terribly bad...
-
thanks cyclonis. i'm not a hp fan either, the first one is new to me, tho... looks a bit simple.
