  1. The toy line did well. Constant good seller. based on sales in belgium, the theme did not do well... many stores are still stuck with sets they can't sell
  2. i'm a bit confused... Batman didn't do that well in the US? sure 200 million$ or so, but clearly not enough to set up a lego based theme? HP and spidey, sure, those had massive box office results, but batman? the results in Europe were even very weak!
  3. looks like a yellow one to me...
  4. you guys think lego will keep Batmand AND Spider man? wouldn't batman just take a slice of spider man's sales instead of increasing sales all together?
  5. i thought they were finished with licenses... obviously some one changed his mind...
  6. :oo did you get confirmation on this?
  7. has any one ever tried to build canons whith these: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemPic.asp?P=2489 perhaps they're too big? but what about a mortar?, like this: http://www.cascade.co.nz/larry/mortar.gif
  8. besides, 30 dollars, that's about 25

    lego puzzle

i was also very intrested in those. i also like the street and traffic lights. I'll take a decent photo once i've made the puzzle. it's only 60 large pieces, so i probably won't need a brain of a detective to solve it! :P
  10. did you see these seats? they look a bit "non-lego-ish" to me...
  11. yeah... that's the one. :oD sure, it's not a brilliant ship, but's it's ok, i think...

    lego puzzle

i was shopping yesterday and i found this lego puzzle. Not really spectacular, but there was also a small lego set inside. The set isn't brilliant either, but it's intresting because you can only get it if you buy the puzzle. there's no official lego serial number on it... As is shown on the cover, there are two city puzzles and two knights puzzles... you can easily buy this at www.Raversburger.nl
  13. there is, btw, another large lego pirate ship, even tho it's never been an official set. it's in idea book 260, page 39-40 it doesn't come close to the two major candidates, but i thought 'd tell you anyway... here's a link to the book: http://www.hccamsterdam.nl/brick/theme/index.htm
  14. ooops... you're quiet right! :P
  15. i think it's very nice. sure, it doesn't really have much details to it, but a real fort never has esthetic things hanging on walls, windows... it's solid, it's meant to defend a port or so... i think a fort like that needs to have cannons. without those the fort will be bombarded by cannons from enemy ships... it reminds me more of desert forts in Africa. it surely has the color for it...
  16. could this be a vip transport ship? a ship you use to bring officers, diplomates,... from and to your fleet?
  17. just added my vote to the bsb, so she's leading the race right now... i voted for her for several reasons: 1) of the two, she's the classic pirate ship: she has a typical design for this type of ship, with pretty nice windows, yellow detailed bricks, a great captain's office; all very easily accessible through the back of the ship... 2) This was the first pirate ship of the lego line.
  18. about your first remark, i don't think you'll see that because it's probably too dark to see much inside these bricks. Real cannons do have a sealed off end as well, so that wouldn't be the problem, i guess, the major obstacle is that you can't get a smooth cylinder made out of 3-4 heads... it never really looks like a decent cannon... i can't think of another cylinder for a minifig sized cannon. in the end, i think you're just going to buy lots of lego cannons if you want the real thing... but perhaps it would be easier to build older cannons when the weapon still wasn't fully develloped into the well known cannon.
  19. come to think of it, i would use black or dark gray minifig heads instead of the classic round bricks. they look more "agressive"... i'm not sure if there ever was a middle sized canon, and if any normal battle ship would operate both types of canons at the same time...
  20. i don't think there's any room for two cannons, is there?
  21. sure, but there's hardly any room for it... if you want to build a 74 cannon ship or so, minifig sized, you're gonna have to build a lot larger ship... guess i'll try that next year... Where am i going to get 74 cannons, tho? :() i would also use brown plates if they are meant to be wood...
  22. i think they're just intended to suggest a heavily armored ship. After all, how do you build a 74 cannon battle ship with lego? So these round bricks suggest there are a lot of cannons on board from the outside. i guess the round brick is the easiest way to suggest "a cannon", minifig size or not... it doesn't refer to a realistic type of cannon... he should clean his lego tho. look how dirty it is... :P
  23. this looks great j! :oD Are you going to put them in a diorama, or so?
  24. 1) i agree with Kim. The sooner we get a date, the better. Not just for getting time off, but also for getting good accomodations, plane/train tickets,... 2) my proposal is to go to Windsor on the third weekend of May 2006 (Friday-Sunday) for several reasons: It's still very early in the year. there won't be much people around, and for some parts of the park it's really better if you don't have to wait 15-30 minutes. The entire pirate theme, for instance, can only be seen if you take a small boat... And we also don't want any body else at the pab :P you can still go on summer holidays with friends/family in July/August to where ever you want to go. this trip won't be in the way it's also out of season in the UK. Windsor Castle is pretty close, so it might be quite difficult to get accomodations in Windsor town during summer, unless you want to pay a lot more... Sure, we're taking a risk with british weather, but then, weather in Billund wasn't very good either, still, we had a great time... There won't be much of the tourist activities either. This means we'll have to entertain ourselves... :P
  25. Quite a few webmasters refuse to allow leaked information on their website, hoping they'll please the company that way, hoping they'll get something in return... Sometimes this behaviour is rather formalised, perhaps not in contracts but by direct communication between webmasters and the company... You know how these things work... and if you're too young, then at some point in life, you will... as for the fbtb question, read the Leaked Pics topic on our forum... "Do i really care that little about what TLC wants?" What a weird question... you're turning the world upside down. i'll tell you what tlc wants: money. they can get my money if they produce what i want. how 'bout that! what do you mean "their wishes should be respected?" this website is a fan website, not a section of TLC's marketing department. eb's first interest lies with all the members of this community. If the company wants eb's coorporation on something, well... they know how to contact Jipay or Double T...
