Hey, Aquazone was one of my big draws, too, when I was little. Welcome to Eurobricks!
-
Wow, LOVE that tree demon! Would it be possilbe for some side shots and an image or two of the front without the minifigs? I'd really like to see how that bad boy is built!

Whoa, that's awesome! Any chance of instructions and/or a parts list for Kai's Blade Cycle? I'm going to be getting it soom and I definitely like the looks of those modifications!

Mind the spoilers, please! I don't particularly mind (I saw it coming a mile away, especially with all my fellow detail-obsessed fans here pointing out the signs), but there are still plenty of people who haven't seen the later episodes of the series yet! (I.E. people who, like me, are waiting for HD versions instead of the low-quality stuff floating around the internet now.) I personally think the change might be explained by the Fangpyre power; it's the only thing I've seen in the storyline so far that causes physical transformation and/or acquisition of new powers, so it's the only thing I can think of that will explain *****'s changes.... Say, mods, you think it would be a good idea to put the name of the green ninja in the filter to automatically remove spoilers? Just until Cartoon Network airs the rest of the season.

These look awesome! Any chance you could animate a short battle between them? (Even something very rough would be very interesting and informative--at least to me. )

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

"Yeah, but my speech is better." OOC: -
Anyone else wish they had everyone's characters as CMFs? In other "news", Sandy, I am epically jealous of your Lego collection. Especially now that I fully realize just how massive it must be!

Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share
Flipz replied to Brickdoctor's topic in The Heroica Archive
Arthur opened his mouth as if to reply, but shut it quickly. Althior clearly wasn't in a talking mood. Abraxas...apparently this demon has been active long before the Zeigfrieds got involved. Perhaps some additional study would be in order once I get back to the Hall. In the meanwhile, it seemed that his allies had forgotten their potential defenses. "Alright, fellas, it appears we need just one more person to finish up the catapult, unless we need someone else to fill the stones. I say our last party member should cut some firimg holes in the side of the fort with a Pick we can use the barrel of rainwater downstairs as our counterweight. Actually, if we bring up enough nails and attach a half-barrel to each side of the launch arm, we could load one side, then load the other and drop the barrel to launch the first side, then re-load the first side and drop that barrel to launch the second side, and so on back and forth in opposite directions. Of course, that'd only work if there are foes on both sides, but..." OOC: Can't remember if this was ever addressed...I'll read back and see, edit if it already was. EDIT: OOC: It was, but there was no answer. I'll assume there are arrow loops along all the walls. Also, I'm assuming when we reload each barrel, we have it on a small stand first, then kick the stand out from under the weight to launch...does that make sense? Don't forget, I want my speech to the troops before we battle the Elves! -
Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

Arthur had no reply, and so sat in silence for quite some time. At length, Finnegan's hovering reminded him of something else he wanted to ask. "Say, Finnegan, you've mentioned several times about seeking a she-aura. In this land, are you a natural species at all, or are you all conjured up by wizards and mages?" -

"Why keep it bottled up like that, though? If he just told us back at the Hall, he could have had an army of Heroes setting out with the sole purpose of taking Abraxas down. I doubt even a super-powerful demon could handle twenty Heroes at once." OOC: Yeah, I know, not gonna happen, but again, trying to keep IC. -
Heroica RPG - Quest #17: The Lion's Share

Arthur frowned. "My dad knew someone like that, once. Said he met him on another Plane not terribly removed from our own. Refused to say anything else about it, wonder if that guy was Althior's Counterpart." Arthur stared at the ground, deep in thought. "Abraxas...that was the name of a demon, wasn't it? If I recall, it had something to do with the Zeigfrieds." He looked at Finnegan. "So why is Althior here and not off on Quest 14? Or, better yet, on a Quest of his own to cleanse him of the Mark? Why is he wasting his time with a bunch of numbskulls like us?" -

"Hey, there, Finnegan. Listen, I kinda noticed something about Althior. Is it just me or has he been acting...strange...lately. Just before we started this Quest, he was being all dark and serious. I thought he was just worried about the Quest, but now...he's gotten worse. I didn't think that was even possible. It's like he's going mad...Finnegan, were the Quest books wrong? Was he always like this, and the Quest books just failed to mention it? Or is something...wrong? Is Althior dying, and he doesn't want us to know?" OOC: Makes sense from Arthur's perspective--he doesn't know IC about the Spot... -

OOC: Intentionally healing or unintentionally healing? And I still want that pre-battle speech to the troops! :P -==IC: Arthur==- Arthur sees the look in Althior's eye and makes a mental not to stay as far away from him as possible until the battle starts. What is it with him? It's like he's slowly going mad...I wonder... Arthur makes a mental note to talk to Finnegan once he's free. Alone, if at all possible... -

Unfortunately, the water comes into contact with Arthur's Opal and freezes him solid. "Urk...hak...help...me..." OOC: I was hoping to heal that damage I took from the well...well, looks like that's not gonna happen now -

Arthur takes a nap. "Wake me before the Elves get here, I want to say something to our troops right before the battle." -
Happy New Year, everyone! Looking forward to a great year of Heroica with you all! (Well, in 30 minutes, anyway! )

There's a site doing that, Lunibook. You might check them out for what you need.

Thanks, Blender looks really great, should be really useful. OK, I've managed to use LDD's "Export" function to convert my LXF into an LDR file. Then, using an old converter I found on my computer (I believe it was called LdrDat2Obj or something like that), I managed to convert my LDR file into an OBJ file. Now, how can I get this OBJ file into Blender?

I volunteer!

The Quest I'm slowly thinking up actually has a system like that (though as yet, I haven't set any rewards, I'm still trying to ascertain the impact of loot drops on gameplay and combat, something that won't happen until I experience it for myself [hint, hint ]). My Quest involves sub-Quests and side-Quests (these have VERY different uses, requirements, and effects on the Quest), which could, theoretically, offer any kind of logical reward, including level-ups as you suggested. Perhaps we should move this discussion to the QM's lounge (or PMs if you're particularly intrigued)? Have a great trip, Sandy, relax and forget about us for once. We'll get along fine while you're gone...

I know LDD can export to LDraw, is there a tool that would work with LDraw-format files? I don't mind having to run the file through dozens of different converters, I just don't want to have to build individual Lego bricks and/or models directly in animation programs (because generally speaking, I suck at building and designing things without the aid of bricks ).
-
Hello, all, I've been planning a couple of projects lately that require some digital animation. Specifically, I want to build a world in LDD, then animate minifigures running around it. For this, I need two things: 1.) I need an animation rig for a LEGO minifigure. Preferably, something that's very flexible in terms of what it can do; if you've seen the story trailer for Lego Universe or the Traveler's Tales LEGO games, you'll have a good idea of the actions I need these minifigs to be able to do. I don't really know much about the different animation programs out there, so I have no preferences on what file format this is in, but the program has to be free (or at least have a free version that is not on a "free for 30 days" sort of thing). 2.) I need some sort of tool that will allow me to convert LXF files into some sort of file that will let me drop them into an animation program. I used to have one program that did this with Ldraw files, but it did not work properly when I tried to import it into the student trial version of Autodesk Maya (and now that trial has ended anyway). 2A.) I'd like it if the program described in 2 (or another program) could turn models with hinges into animated rigs (i.e. doors /windows on houses and wheels on cars), but the way I see it, for what I need, I can split any hinged sections I have into separate LXF files and animate them separately from the rest of the model. This one is more optional than the other two. So, does anyone know of anything that could help me?

I hate....! Share your building annoyances here...
Flipz replied to Mr Benn's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I really hate it when a single bag has all the parts for a given part of a model...except for that ONE piece, forcing you to open the second bag early. (Which means you have to open it up, pour out/dig through the pieces to get the one you need, and then you have to be careful not to spill those parts into your chair/couch from then on...) I really like numbered bags, HOWEVER... The other thing I really hate is when divisions between numbered bags make no sense. Really, Lego? You needed an entire bag for ONE wing of Lightning Dragon Battle? A separate bag for both wings, or a separate bag for each wing would have made sense, but for just ONE? Obsessive-compulsive madness, go! (Separating the wings from each other was justified, it actually addresses my third peeve, I just don't see why they had to throw the first wing in with the body section.) The third and final thing I hate is when I mess up and confuse a left-facing "wing" or "wedge" piece for a right-facing one (or vice-versa). Trust me, there is nothing more infuriating than realizing you put the piece in backwards, making a wonky-looking angle along the side of your build at one point. It's even worse when it happens in MOC-ing, because then you have no one but yourself to blame. -
YES. Do it. REALLY looking forward to your review!

So, how exactly do these work? Is it like Mafia, or...? If someone can explain to me the rules and how to play and such, I might decide to give this one a go. ;)
