  1. That would be beyond awesome. He'd be an automatic boss-killer! (I jest, of course, but still, that'd be a pretty cool thing; Hunters, after all, are the only characters who can get a damage multiplier on Ancient and Etherial enemies.)
  2. I think it should be WP:21 + Level 21 = 42 x2 (Diamond) = 84 x2 (Encouraged) = 168 before SP. Also, not that it mattered this Round, but Arthur isn't Lucky (yet). Also, Atramor should have Deadly Poisoned everything that can possibly be Deadly Poisoned. "Good work, everyone. Gnash, I'll take Beast F, watch my back, please. Vipera, may I ask you to try to make me or Sir Cronk Lucky?" Arthur casts Light at Chaos Beast F from the Back Row through Sir Roderick's Sword.
  3. Battle summary updated, Zeph.
  4. "Those two are immune to negative effects, could you switch to the Masters?"
  5. "Haldor, don't waste your Ether like that. The Scroll of Luck is expensive, you only have enough Ether to use it once, succeed or fail. Try Sealing the Masters or casting Fragile on them instead." Seeing that one of the beasts had not yet been covered, Arthur switches targets to Chaos Beast E, still from the Back Row. Battle Summary: Hans (Sword of Dastan) vs. Chaos Beast of Life (Front Row) McColt encourages Nyx Vipera makes Hoke Lucky >Thothwick (Banana Saber) vs. Chaos Beast D (Back Row) >Phil (Hammer of Dastan) vs. Master Chaos Beast A (Back Row) >Arthur (Light, Sir Roderick's Sword) vs. Chaos Beast E (Back Row) >Haldor uses Scroll of Sealing on Master Chaos Beast A >Haldor uses Scroll of Sealing on Master Chaos Beast B >Haldor uses Scroll of Sealing on Master Chaos Beast A OR uses Scroll of Frailty on Master Chaos Beast A if Master Chaos Beast A already Sealed >Haldor uses Scroll of Sealing on Master Chaos Beast B OR uses Scroll of Frailty on Master Chaos Beast B if Master Chaos Beast B Already Sealed Nyx (Light, Book of a Thousand Creatures) vs. Chaos Beast D (Back Row) >Cronk (Zoot's Bane) vs. Master Chaos Beast B (Back Row) >Skrall (Hunter's Crossbow) vs. Chaos Beast of Death (Back Row) >Atramor (Explosive Staff) vs. Chaos Beast A (Back Row) >Hoke (Light, Twin Broadswords) vs. Master Chaos Beast A (Back Row) >Gnash (City Watch Halberd) vs. Chaos Beast F (Back Row) >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Chaos Beast B (Back Row) >Alexis (Cat O' Nine Tails) vs. Chaos Beast C (Back Row) >Dyric (Briar bow) vs. Chaos Beast C (Back Row) >Poletad heal ally with least amount of health (Back Row) or else do nothing (Back Row)
  6. "Sir Cronk, I think you have Cursed confused with Jinxed. Cursed will simply remove 3 of its maximum Health each Round. We'll have to wait a couple of Rounds for my Scarf to kick in before we can Jinx anything."
  7. 6200 HP, to be exact, though keep in mind that our party deals on average 456 damage per Round (that is, if we all get normal Hits), and Alexis has two chances of Assassinating almost everything (and Dyric has a 1/6 chance for a group Assassination shot as well). Assuming we end up at about half that damage potential (to account for Damage rolls and time taken off for healing), it'll take 27 Rounds to kill everything, if Alexis' and Dyric's Assassinations are all unsuccessful. Since they CAN be Assassinated, however, we only HAVE to whittle through 3200 HP the ordinary way--still a VERY formidible amount, but not quite as bad as 6200.
  8. Welcome to Eurobricks, 'indigobox'! I agree, the urge to collect entire lines is hard to resist. Good luck getting those last few Series 1 and Series 2 'figs--they're a real pain to find these days.
  9. Welcome to Eurobricks!
  10. Wow, this is pretty sweet. Wonder what the Grand Cookies do? Also, are there supposed to be two Master Chaos Beast A's, or is there only supposed to be one? I have to say, I'm surprised that the Zoot's Plaything isn't dropping this battle. The resulting fighting over who gets it would fit perfectly with the theme of party members who all hate each other.
  11. Welcome to my everyday life. Do we want to use Paralyzing Venom on the Cat O' Nine Tails, or should we save it? Also, I'd appreciate Luck if anyone has the chance. Wordlessly, Arthur casts Light at Chaos Beast B from the Back Row, through Sir Roderick's Sword. He gestures for the others to move before him, that his attacks would not be wasted.
  12. (Ignore the commentary, it's the visuals I'm looking at. )
  13. The last vestiges of sight faded from Arthur's vision as the inky blackness consumed his senses, but in the last echoes of the surface world he heard a moment of Dyric's speech. Arthur thought, too, of his other "Brother" in Heroica, a diminutive shade he trusted with his life. It was good to know he had forged another such bond. As Arthur faded away into the dark... He smiled.
  14. Can Atramor and Nyx have their Ether back, though?
  15. "Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to follow the sensible member of the group. Alexis, mind giving out some consumables?" Arthur drinks a Mead, and jumps down the hole after Poletad, channeling up to ten Ether through the Sapphire to slow his fall.
  16. "I see. The fool whose brilliant plans won so many battles in Dastan. The fool whose designs formed fully half of the defense of Bric'bay. The fool who successfully defeated a god, who predicted we would be coming here long, long ago, who remains the only one here who has any sort of understanding about what Wren wants. The "fool" who knows there will be a price for success as much as failure. Perhaps you are right, perhaps I am a fool--a fool for allying myself with the likes of those who, despite direct and intimate experience with cosmic forces beyond the understanding of most mortal men continues to believe in closed-minded stereotypes of Chaos. Order is not ultimate good, Chaos not ultimate evil. It's more complicated than that. The Gray Wizard understood this, understood that Chaos and Order are both essential parts of a whole. I have offered my wisdom, my experience, my utility freely in spite of constant aspersions against the fundamental tenets of my life and philosophy, have had to deal with my fellow Heroes tarring me with the same brush they use against psychopaths and murderers. Make no mistake: I am fighting for the redemption of Chaos, I am living proof that the very force we fight against need not be used for evil. I have proved my worth and loyalty many times over, both here AND in Ennon. I have offered you and Cronk both great respect and obedience, far greater than your actions toward me would warrant from any other man, and still you insist on insulting me, tossing my expertise casually aside like a broken blade. Well, this blade is far from broken, and one day one day you will see it cut through the lies and illusions you cling through so tightly, to reveal the truth of this world to the world. Insult me all you want, it does not change the fact that you are wrong about me, and one day, when the truth is revealed, you will know the regret of it in your heart. Zane had it right; the one named the fool is in truth the wisest of all."
  17. "Yes, because seven damage per round is so much quicker." "And for your information, the battle did force us to fight as fast as we could--Tensi and Sasha were Cursed--losing one more health per round than we are, and without the possibility of healing them through normal means--and if we didn't manage to beat the god without using a Remedy on both of them, we wouldn't have stood a chance." "But go ahead and attack, I'm sure our Lucky dual-striking Mystic Knight won't mind giving up his turn to pass Haldor a useful item."
  18. Sandy, I JUST got one of (probably several) literary references in the bar in Quest 58. I was immediately inspired to do this: (spoilered to prevent WoT syndrome)
  19. Zeph, you STILL haven't given us the experience from last battle.
  20. Arthur rolls his eyes. Morons, he thinks to himself. Arthur repeats.
  21. "Fine, then, Hoke, hand YOUR healing Staff to Haldor." "Lady Nyx, Atramor's plan is sound. It worked for us against a god, I think it should be good enough to use against a floor."
  22. One last thought before I go: I am totally calling that
  23. "Someone will need to hand their Healing Staff over to Haldor--Lady Nyx, would you mind? I need mine to safely Jinx Gnash without harming him." Arthur uses his Healing Staff on the party member in the most danger of being KO'd, but on every third Round, Arthur uses his Healing Staff on Gnash instead, until Gnash is Jinxed. If Gnash is Jinxed, he uses his Healing Staff on Gnash, otherwise he returns to his previous strategy. I may not be online for the rest of the week. Try not to finish the Quest without me! Anyone can control Arthur's battle actions, within reason.
  24. "Sir Cronk, Lady Nyx is virtually guaranteed to take serious damage from the floor no matter what she does. Perhaps it would be best if we Inspire her as well? Haldor has some Mulled Wine, I believe, if my nose does not mislead me."
  25. Counterstrike automatically does that. It's an easy way to ensure the party overthinks their strategy, if only due to the psychological effect of it. Hex, Petrify, and to a lesser effect Confuse and Curse have a similar psychological effect--Petrify reads as "instant KO" (without the subconscious "well that's unfair" reaction that we all have to insta-KO specials but refuse to admit into the conscious mind--do note that I'm talking about instinctive psychological reactions, not rational analysis), and Hex provokes the reaction of "damn I wish I hadn't spent my money on weapon upgrades". Confusion, of course, is a weaker form of Hex, and Curse puts pressure on the Heroes by setting a time limit (in a way that poison and all its various forms cannot, since they can be kept at bay with healing). Well, that and the fact that the one obvious solution would result in the entire party getting perma-KO'd. Now that I think of it, I really should present an analysis of why. Basically, Counterstrike on an enemy means that the Hero will be taking Damage on up to six out of six rolls, depending on whether or not their SHIELD deals damage and what the enemy's Special is like. Heck, if the floor here dealt damage on its special, then Nyx would be guaranteed to take at LEAST 13 damage on any roll of any kind; she'll take double damage from her SHIELD and Counter rolls. Hoke is a goner if he rolls a SHIELD versus the darn thing. In other words, any roll that does any sort of damage to the enemy is inherently disadvantageous, and since the floor is immune to Effects, that means we HAVE to take serious amounts of damage just to scratch it. Not complaining, I'm just trying to explain why it's so darn scary; you've virtually guaranteed that we either have to sacrifice the majority of the party, or else go with Atramor's plan and miss out on experience, which is a bit frustrating.
