  1. My immediate reaction: inadequacy. Nono, not the movie itself, me. I took one look at the scale of Bricksburg and the rest of the world, and in connection with the infamous third-act surprise it's instilled this strong urge in me of "don't even bother. You're not going to get even NEAR that."
  2. "A son who...?" Arthur's brow furrows, the gears turning in his head. He turns a suspicious eye to Henry. "If I may ask--what was his name?"
  3. Endgame, at first I read Iris' passive special as having a 6/6 odds of Hexing the Hero if all 6 tentacles were defeated (misread "odds go up for every 2 tentacles defeated" as "odds go up for every tentacle defeated). At first I was going to complain that was unfair, but then I realized that (with a different negative effect) that could be an interesting mechanic in itself to center a boss fight around.
  4. Arthur nods in gratitude to both men and steps aboard the ship, slotting a Remedy into his Duplovian Halberd as he does so.
  5. I think more than a battle round calculator, a Hero Stats calculator would be more helpful--i.e. you type in the numbers and check boxes for things like immunities and effects, and it spits out a simple, clean stat block without adding in thousands of characters of junk BBCode like the rich-text editor does.
  6. "Her escorts," Arthur explains Diplomatically. He resists the urge to wave his hand in front of the Bonaparte's face. "We keep her safe, she leads us to heretofore-undiscovered wonders of the world. It's quite a good arrangement, actually, if I do say so myself."
  7. Well, for planning purposes, Power can be useful as sort of an average of how much damage a Hero/Party can put out, but then again it's not THAT hard to calculate manually.
  8. "...well then, if you've got a ship we could borrow, it would definitely speed us on our way." He rubs his brow frustratedly--it was difficult trying to determine the Hinckwell's ulterior motives. Shifting a bit in his uncomfortable armor, Arthur returns his sword to its sheath, confident that no one was planning to ambush them.
  9. You know, as much as I like Russel that would actually be really cool. Zeph, if you don't put it in the storyline at least give us a dream sequence with Giant!Lich!Russel.
  10. "Hmm...what sort of favor, exactly?" Noting the Hinckwell's frequent glances at his sword, he gently inverts it and folds his hands atop the hilt.
  11. Arthur, having been looking enviously over his shoulder at the technological marvel Tarn and Daneeka were carrying, is startled by the sudden appearance of Henry Hinckwell. Arthur instinctively draws Sir Roderick's Sword before realizing the new figure was not hostile and lowering the blade, though not returning it to his sheath. He casts an appraising eye over the elder man. "Hmm...apologies. You startled me." He casts a glance back to the other Heroes. "Is there something you require of us? We do have a journey to set out on."
  12. To be fair, half that party was on 53, and the rest followed it.
  13. "I'd be happy to help you with it, though unfortunately I do not yet own a Sapphire. Do you know where we could go to acquire some?"
  14. I think that pretty much anyone who hasn't been to the Fields will make 10 Quests before they hit 40, easily; it's only the Medal of Glory and Fields battle system that accelerates the experience rate so that "number of Quests" becomes a factor.
  15. Bad form, Pie--you should have deducted health for that.
  16. Arthur coughs, realizing his diplomacy was needed. "Well...there is an old Dastanian legend of the Princess and the Warrior, whose book of knowledge accrued over their adventure together was lost at sea...perhaps if the princess could locate the position where their ship capsized, it would be a fantastic opportunity to test this new device--not to mention the wealth of lost knowledge that could be regained from recovering this journal." He pauses. "Out of curiosity, does it have to be a particular type of gemstone, or will any sort do?"
  17. But the thing we all REALLY want to know is if the devil may cry.
  18. "Arthur Regulus VII, of Heroica, and these are my companions Tarn of Valco and Monk Pretzel, the Super Sleuth. Both also of Heroica. We are here escorting Princess Ella and her faithful guardian Master U'Voros on their mission." He extends a hand. "A pleasure to meet you, Doctor."
  19. Except Sandy already stated that 93 takes place AFTER the letters were sent--thus, the paradox has to be introduced via the unusual use of the V-mail system and also it's a reason to have the Time Vortex in Heroica.
  20. Please let Fabian be extremely traumatized by this. Also, in-universe explanation for the delays in the Tidings letters: the strain put on the Z-Mail wards, in combination with the unexpected reaction with the time-stop and deathward spells placed on all Heroica Heroes by the Veterans, created a shockwave of Etherial energy that backwashed through the conductive conduit, retroactively delaying the arrival of the remaining responses. This, of course, is why one should never travel through the Time Vortex without a properly-constructed sentient shell, and why the Regulus clan's Planeswalking draws energy from it but does not use it as the actual means of transit (even the Aoi's tech is vastly inadequate for the construction of such a shell, only magic on the scale of the Council of the Watchful Eye could even come close, and even they prefer simple pocket dimensions for their purposes).
  21. It would have been out a lot sooner if I wasn't such a perfectionist. All the sets are built, and I could probably get avatar-shots of the last NPCs I need over the weekend. The problem is that I'm having trouble with rendering and preparing the crowd scenes I need.
  22. "Well, Cronk and a few other Heroes you probably haven't met fought a fragment of Ennoc in Ennon, and of course we beat Wren, but not before having to defend Eubric from a load of rampaging Pongcanae, Chimaera Guards, Chaos Beasts, and demon cultists--and not without losses. Heavy ones. Good people died that day--because I was too stupid and weak to know my own path. Or maybe I was on the right path, and I just didn't know when to lay down and die when I should have." Arthur's face wrinkles, contorted with memories of rage and anguish. "Anyway, after that I spent a couple of Quests dealing with the Wolfgang as part of the Town Watch, before handling a diplomatic crisis in R'klif that ended in a pair of battles against a Dread Pirate and a horde of Pongcanis, and Mopag warlord who had gotten too stuck-up for his own good. Not much else to tell--I mean, I could prattle on about the details, my bad dreams, or even the weather, but folks tell me I talk too much as it is."
  23. He's Pride--53 explains it. Wrath is the last demon that got out at the end--I can't ever remember her name, it starts with an A and it seems to like Nyx Marilith (thanks Pie!).
  24. "That. Was a terrible waste of two perfectly good consumables," he grumbles. He sighs and passes his Overkill Gloves to Tarn. "You'll make better use of 'em than me." He equips his Lens of Speed-Reading in their place, before passing his Cloak of Deception and Jester's Hat to U'Voros. "You look like you could use some more protection, my friend. You can hang on to these for a bit, if you'd like."
  25. Honestly, I probably wouldn't have developed out Arthur's homeland as much as I did if it weren't for the rule that the second Hero has to be connected to the first--it would have been just a casually-mentioned background element for him, and he probably wouldn't have gotten as much backstory, either. My original concept for second character was literally a relative, but now that I know that the second character doesn't have to be literally "related" to Arthur, I'm able to explore other concepts.
