The one and only Flying Dutchman of Sebeus I :) @basiliscus, exactly my friend!

Nice ship you made!!! One nitpicking, I am not sure about the 2-wheel cannons. They are really excellent made, but I am not sure if they are stable enough for being put on a ship...

I guess the first alliance will be between Corrington and Eslandola :) Think green, safe the earth! (I really should think about a better slogan hahaha)
-
I really like how much it looks like the original! Great job :)
-
did I associated it? :p My bad :D well it certainly fits with the other MoC so I would say it is Amrakect :)

I am also completely lost! I agree with the majority that there are way too much GA's and they take away the fun of the game for me... I used to comment on every entry, but I had a busy weekend once and now I don't know where to start...- 272 replies

Really nice island!! I hope to see it more filled as I do miss the pirates right now... (or are they eaten by the hidden Islanders? :D )

174C Well my 79008 Pirate ship was sailing alongside the IFS, BSB & QAR. Needless to say she was the silliest of them all without cannons. So it was time for a mod! Hereby I present you the 17 gun Corsair "Flying Arrow" Details: 12 side cannons 2 front cannons (chasers) 1 back cannon (defender) & 2 upper deck mini cannons It will be one of the ships I will use in the upcomming Brethren of the Brickseas! The Cpt. Matt Lenoir has the right to Privateer under the Eslandolian flag, permission granted by my upcomming main character, the governor of Stedor. So here is Cpt. Matt Lenoir: And the flag: C&C ofcourse welcome! note: to keep the atmosphere of the original ship, I did not touched the front and back :)

Oh my bad :p I think I was in a hurry hahaha :D I am pretty sure we can do a BoBs collaboration for BMA (together with Sebeus and hopefully Bonaparte & Cpt Greenhair as well). It would be awesome to have KB and CB at BMA!! Nostalgia by this picture of the last big pirate lay-out I did:

These are made with paint :p

You are Swedish huh? :) I am going to brick your vessel "the Gotheburg" and use it as my flagship :) Btw I am also playing with Sweden in Empire Total War :p @Basiliscus: indeed! @Kabel: I will try to avoid the morons, except for bodyguards :)

I am just saying you are way too negative about the new wave... There were many flaws in those classics sets as well. Let's take for example Sabre Island, there is no point in only having 2 walls + there is no decent battlement on top of the tower... And yes, the classic ITP does looks nice because of the base and that's something the new sets are lacking (like I said, baseplate are really expensive nowadays). Don't forget Lego is still aiming for children. So if they left out a wall because they think it is better for playability, it makes sense to me. And if a kid doesn't like it, he can always build a wall himself (that would cost maybe 30 cent...
-
I totally don't agree with you... The so fantastic classic Pirate lines were worse... Sabre Island had only 2 walls for example. Talking about the Classic Pirate lines... I bought 2x Soldiers Fort and 1x Outpost for a total of 80$. With these 3 sets, I made a very nice (Imperial) Trade Post. Considering the price of the ITP would be 110 (or even more) $ nowadays (it was 85$ back then, so with the index taken in count). You can even buy another Soldiers Fort and add it! The result will not be as big as the classic ITP because in the new sets, there are NO one piece walls and there are no baseplates (which were really cheap back then). And yes, there is no Merchants Vessel (but I consider the raft be the same value). So honestley, if there will be an UCS Trading Post, I hope they will include at least some houses in it (like the MMV) and a smaller vessel, because IMO, I don't miss a trading post right now thanks to the possibility of combining these cheaper sets together :)

Honestly, I would suggest to make a trade ship from the scratch... The IFS is so much worth nowadays that it would be too expensive to use it just as a base.

I updated the flags of Eslandola based on some feedback I received. More feedback always welcome, just like ideas for the other factions!!
-
Well, our factions need decent flags to blow in the wind. All designs are welcome! Don't forget they should fit the official Lego 2 x 2 flags and 6 x 4 flags. Slavery is a difficult topic. It was a part of the economy back then. Most games that are situated back then are leaving this aspect out of their game. The only way I could see this acceptable is when we agree to use only yellow minifigs in our world (so there are no different races). And the names are really good. It is an imaginary world so all relations to the real world should be left out.
-
Will I ever have the chance to see this in real life at one of the Brickmania-events? :) It so amazing already!!!
-
I am really looking forward to this project!!! I am playing Empire Total War again lately It would be cool to see Eslandola more of Alliance of minor nations (or a mothercountry and her protectorates). It would explain the low number of greencoats and the players who choose for Eslandola can create whatever coat they want. It would bring a lot more diversity and nations into our imaginary world, without messing too much with the system the leaders are setting up atm. So also Islanders and monkeylovers can have their own tribe/nation and be protected by Eslandola for example
-
You can be anything you want, you only need to be aligned to one if the 4 groups. Your islanders can work together with Eslandola for example by trading with them and supporting them :)
-
Well, I think the description is more for people to guide and not to be law :) For example, I will play Eslandola just because I like merchants and gold and the whole trading thing. I am planning to make a Swedish 18th century tradevessel so it would fit perfectly in it :) And I am sure Corrington will have big warships as well just like Oleon will have smaller vessels too... I am sure every faction can have monkeys :D I am really looking forward to big BoBS lay-outs at Brickmania Antwerp or Limburg :D I have 40 redcoats, 15 bluecoats and 3 greencoats, still I choose for Eslandola!
-
Eslandola ftw!!!
-
It would really surprise me to see an UCS Imperial Fort coming out because there are already parts of the imperial fort/harbour. Itcis true those 2 smaller sets are not as nice as El Dorado or ITP. But as the slakker sets can be connected to eachother and you have many alternative possibilities with the small sets, I am surr you can make your own ITP. So if there will be an UCS, please let it be a Bluecoats ship, but not a copy of the IFS

Maxim I replied to VintageLegoEra's topic in LEGO Pirates
Wait a minute, there are really cannons that can't shoot?? As far as I know, here in Europe, they were always able to shoot -
