Was at my local Target today in Woodland Hills, Ca and saw a set that I had never seen before: 8682 Special Edition Nitro Intimidator. It is in the racer line (whatever that is) and I was intrigued. Normally, I'm not a fan of race cars, but this was a truck and looked really nice. It had over 700 pieces and was $49.95. It had a lot of Technic pieces (from what I could tell) and had some cool features. Kind of reminded me of the 2006 Creator car (the black one) but better. Anyway, if anyone is interested, here is a link: Lugnet 8682

Very true and I'm sure you are 100% correct. Nothing they come out with today will match the enjoyment I had back then. However, with the recent announcement that Space is coming back (in some form) it will be interesting to see how close they get...

I go through cycles. I was on a buying spree about six months ago and I kind of backed off for a while. Lately, I've just been buying the new Star Wars and Technic. I've been so busy with work and family lately that I haven't had much time for building. I still have a few reviews queued up to finish (Mindstorms NXT, AT-ST and Technic Fire Truck). I've also been working on a few MOCs, but those have taken a back seat lately. I need about a month of time to get caught up. I wonder if my job and family would mind if I checked out for a while...

Wow, that is amazing!

That was one of my first sets and I spent WEEKS playing with that. I recently got all my old LEGO from my dad's house. I might have to build it and put it on display for old times sake. I do wish they would bring back classic space. I can understand their logic that it would complete with Star Wars, but I'd love to see what new classic space they could come up with...

Wow! I don't normally give the city sets a second look (except for the occasional set for my daughter) but those look really good! I especially like the fire station and fire boat. Must resist the temptation to start another LEGO product line....

Thanks for the pics! The ILC is growing on me although I'm not crazy about the "shooting thingy" and the bombs. The set seems too small in general. I still don't like Grevious' ship. The Y-wing and AT-ST look awesome! The battle packs are a no-brainer. Going to have to pick up several of each. Can anyone read the text? Does it add anything significant to our discussion?

Zane - it was an Ebay auction. I sent you a PM with the details.

Definitely file a claim with your credit card company and dispute the charge. Also, file a claim with Paypal and they can refund your money as well. I bought some LEGO on Ebay (~ $65 worth) and the guy never shipped the stuff. I filed a claim and got all but $25 back because the seller had already cleared out his account. The $25 is Paypal's "deductable" and they covered the rest.

Yes, it happened to me a couple of times. Had to yank the canopy off the front to get the seat put back properly. Not a huge deal, but mildly irritating though...

Wow, excellent work! Very nice!

I'd have to go with:

I agree and I think 2006 sets are much more improved over 2005. The Star Wars UCS sets have been great this year and it seems like LEGO is really listening to feedback. However, I think one line that needs some attention is Technic. Seems like they keep re-hasing the same old sets again and not too much innovation. I am realistic and know that they can't fix everything overnight and as long as we are seeing steady improvement then that's good enough for me.

Chiukeung does have an excellent reputation on FBTB. However, I'm almost positive that brickshelf gallery has been around at least a year (I've seen it many times before.) The model is quite excellent BTW... I guess we'll wait for further updates from Chiukeung or other sources...

What does that MTT price equate to in USD? Are we talking Sailbarge big, ISD big or Sandcrawler big? That kind of makes sense because if it follows the general release schedule they need at least one big set in the summer like the ISD from last year. A REALLY BIG MTT could be a nice set. It could have 10 figs (plus you could add more from the battle pack) and maybe a room for a few droid speeder bikes (sorry I forgot the name). I suspect you are correct in that this is only a partial list. 2006 gave us five sets in the spring/summer: ISD, Sailbarge, AT-ST, X-wing and TIE Advanced. If 2007 is similar, hopefully we will see two more UCS sets (please be a Falcon). This new pricing info has changed my mind about the MTT.

I thing it will be the EP 2 Version, because it ist in the films the only with a hyper drive ring. *vader* Thats realy good news. It will be a good lego year. But when I read this I thing I need a lot of money! *sweet* No. Obi Wan's Jedi Starfighter used a hyperdrive ring in Ep3. I believe it was when he was searching for Grevious.

I agree. I thought the first MTT (7184) was hideous! They have already done two Naboo starfighters; 7141 and 10026 However, I am wondering if the Jedi Starfighter will be the EP 2 or EP 3 version? EP 2 Starfighter EP 3 Starfighter Both were seen with hyperdrive docking rings in the movies. Also, I remember at one point there was talk of a UCS version of the Jedi Starfighter. This set number seems to indicate that it is a system set and not UCS set so it is probably yet another re-design (with the added hyperdrive.) It will be interesting to see the mini figs included with these, especially the MTT which could fit in nicely with the droid battle pack. Sadly, I am not at all impressed with this latest wave of sets. These are all redesigns and NONE were even on my top 20 wish list. If we

My first impressions: - The AT-ST looks great as does the Y-wing. A+ - The battle packs are cool because of the mini-figs. A+ - I'm a bit disappointed in the Imperial Landing Craft, I thought it would be bigger. C+ - I am not at all impressed with Grevious' ship. D- Again, these are first impressions based on one photo. I can't wait to see some EB reviews or actually get one in my hand to evaluate it myself.

First Aqua Raiders and City pics on Amazon.de

That's what I was thinking. Interesting look. It is starting to grow on me. -
That would be ideal. Unfortunately, neither my UCS TIE Interceptor or X-Wing are built right now or I would. I'll probably put the TIE Interceptor together in the next couple of weeks. But first I have to finish my review of the Mindstorms NXT (that Gylman has been very patiently waiting for...) :-D You are welcome!

I was just at the LEGO brand retail store last week and they are running a sale and promoting various lines throughout the months of September and October. Basically, when you go into the store, ask for a calendar. The calendar will have a coupon for 20% off any one item for September (excluding mindstorms NXT). Also, they have various specials throughout both months like $1 off the large pick a brick or buy one Bionicle and get the second 50% off (that's 9/21 BTW.) Also, October is double stamp month. You may want to call your local store to ensure they are running the promotions. As usual, I have no idea if this is running outside the U.S. so again, call before you make a four hour drive. Enjoy! :-)
