  1. Thanks guys for the info regarding the superhero sets. No Big W's down where I live, but it should mean it isn't far off. I've heard the Batcave's like 129 or something, but I'm not sure how accurate that is
  2. Hey guys, good to hear the Star Wars sets are becoming regular. Do we know when the DC Superhero sets are meant to be showing up? They're what I'm really waiting for.
  3. Picked up the Imperial Flagship today, was a bit unsure as I don't normally spend that kind of money on one Lego set (even at the discount) and had only recently picked up the QAR, but now I've bought it I'm happy I have. The two should look fantastic next to each other, and although I'm expecting the Flagship to be the nicer of the two quite easily, the sails of the Revenge should hold it up nicely. Those sails really are beautiful. So I've gone from no Pirate ships to two in the space of a month. My wallet cries out but I've always wanted a couple of warring ships Now I just have to make room for them
  4. As almost everybody has said, the Imperials need a ship. I'd like to see a big one, that could match Brickbeard's Bounty, but that would be expensive. But they definitely need one. An add on to the Soldiers Fort would be nice too, to help really build upon it's fort-iness. A Barracks, some bigger buildings and such would be a nice way to expand upon it, and perhaps even offer a small ship to go with it. Speaking of ships, I'm not sure how viable this would be, but I've always thought it'd be great to see Lego package two small-mid sized ships together in some weird mega battle pack. Two ships about the size off the Renegade Runner, one for the Pirates, one for the Imperials, say two men for each side. It'd be a very enticing pack for kids/parents, as they instantly get two ships of equal standing to battle with, and parents would feel like it's more bang for their buck (even if it was overpriced) and for AFOLS, they'd be given a plethora of sails and hulls to work with. Sure the ships wouldn't be insanely detailed, but it would sort out a lot of issues, and I'm sure it'd sell well. For the Pirate's, there could be a little stronghold like some of the small Imperial bases from the original series, that could come with a jail and little lookout and living quarters, coupled with a rowboat. And maybe a small cave set with treasure for pirates to explore to round out the smaller sets. I'd like to see the Reds get another series to themselves before Lego introduces the Bluecoats, because there is still a lot that they need, and if the Bluecoats come in straight away, it takes away from it. Perhaps give us another Redcoat rank and some new pirate designs so we aren't just getting recycled figures, and if we are given a civilian set or merchant set, we can get some new figs that way. Even if there was a set made where a merchant area was attacked by pirates, that would be nice for some diversity. Down the track, I'd love to see a sub-theme with the Spanish invaders of South America. It's been touched on in the past, but they never really went for it. There are some amazing possibilities there if done right.
  5. WOW!!! What an amazing set! That is a must buy for me, especially at only $150 Australian. Love the new figures (especially the female with the ponytail hair) and the tavern looks great, and will fit in great with both pirates and castle...my two favourite themes
  6. haha still looking good Penguin, looks like you're going to use a whole host of villains here. My only complaint would be that you have Robin and Riddler's hair as the same, which made it confusing in the Batcave, as at first I thought it was the Riddler since their faces are similar and the cape was hiding the body...but that may just be me
  7. haha very intriguing if you ask me. Good use of lighting, and the set looks good too. Definently has hooked me in wanting to see what happens next
  8. Well I'm the only one who has voted who is on dial up how depressing is that haha! I think it's a fairly good load time, considering some of the other forums I visit.
  9. You need to get out to the sea more how do you think Jesus walked on water? The ripples were perfectly sized for him to fit right on each one
  10. I could almost picture a Joker-esque vehicle for the Mad Hatter, something like a killer book bus (Wasn't Alice in Wonderland inspiration or something for the Mad Hatter, might be a cool lil' reference, not to mention get us more lego books) I'll be honest I'm still fairly new to a lot of the Batman stuff, so I didn't think of Hugo Strange at all. Although The Bruce Limo could be a good way to get a cheap Bane figure, since he deducts Batman's identity (doesn't he? I think he does...yeah of course he does...that's how he 'breaks the bat') so perhaps give Bane a beefed up bike or something to go with that and it could be a good small set if Lego wanted to stick with some of the more recognisable characters.
  11. Sweet! I'll get to work on an entry or two after I knock off some assignments, great to see a long period of working time. Thanks again guys for getting such an amazing collection of prizes.
  12. Actually that could be a good way to get a cheap Alfred, as well as a regular Bruce, so I wouldn't mind seeing that. Unfortunately with the direction they seem to be going with Batman we'd need a bad guy for that set. I'd love to see how they'd do Scarface and the Ventriloquist actually
  13. Longford? Might be it, that's not too far from where I am. Pretty cool to hear. Maybe I'm just being pessimistic, as on second though the Dwarves mine was 500+ pieces, and it doesn't look like the Fort has that many. It's just the prices mentioned earlier in this thread seemed to suggest it might cost around the $60-70 mark when you take into account adjusted prices and the mark-up that seems to occour here. But don't worry, Tassie would be similar to Canberra when it comes to mark-ups
  14. Woah man what a prize pool! I'm going to have to enter, whether I believe I stand a chance against some amazing MOC'ers or not, you never know! Can't wait to hear the rules....pillage the village....wonder whether we have to recreate a scene like that perhaps? Ooh I'm all giddy haha! Care to help out a fellow Aussie Phes and Sinner and perhaps throw a few 'extra' votes my way haha!
  15. Don't we all! I'm really hoping that fort isn't any more than $70 AUS (which would make it the same as the Dwarves mine...at least down in Tasmania) as I doubt I'd pay any more than that, not to mention how much more the ship would be. My wallet is threatening suicide if I plan to buy too much Pirate lego, but I want to make up for lost time!
  16. I get the odd feeling that the Shipwreck set might be a store exclusive. Wasn't it the only one of the non-Impulse sets not to appear in the catalogue? Seems odd they'd leave the third biggest set out of the catalogue pics...
  17. These are some great looking sets. I'm bound to hunt for those Guard Impulses, and also the map battle set. A good number of those will give me quite a few guards and cannons. Coupled with the Imperial Fort set, a little bit of adding onto it, and I'll have a nice little base. Then I'll look at acquiring that ship...so happy to see Pirates are back!
  18. This was an interesting decision for me, as I own the Emperor's ship and Jabba's Sail Barge, but want the Viking Ship and Durmstrang Ship. Eventually I decided on the Viking Ship. The Emperor's ship was a good little ship, but it wasn't really something I'd want to buy again. The Sail Barge is good, but not very shippy, only has some shippy parts. As for the Durmstrang, while it is accurate, I really wish they had chucked in a sail or something that you could add if you want, so I ended up going for the Viking Ship, which looks really nice
  19. So you're not interested in seeing any movie variations of the Lego Batman? I see no reason why they couldn't run both in the line. I personally would love to see a BB Scarecrow figure, as I myself quite liked the realistic interpretation Nolan took for the two films. I agree they should continue doing the comic book inspired line, but avoiding the movie version all together seems rather stupid frankly, given that the majority of lego fans are younger, and most of them would be more inclined to buy the sets that resemble what they saw in the movie (or for those who weren't allowed in theatres...previews). Plus I just want an awesome TDK Joker lego minifigure.
  20. Wow this is absolutely gorgeous man, love it. That penguin statue is awesome too, although I'm not sure about it and the mini penguins having guns all things considering, but that's really my only complaint
  21. Wow that is simply awe inspiring. Amazing model, and while I know I won't be able to afford it, I love that Lego are making such beautiful pieces available for sale. And I would adore them if they made a Sydney Opera House too. Thanks for the pics, they give a lot of detail. Love how they have done the domes
  22. Looks pretty good, and yeah the Anakin hair is probably the closest you can get to emulating the hair. Can't wait to see the finished version. Only suggestion would be to perhaps fix up the decal a bit, it doesn't look very humany to me atm. Kinda hard to explain...

It's weird that the Tumbler is the only one that hasn't shown up though. Since it more or less is a tie in to the Dark Knight (Joker, Tumbler) you'd think that would have been their main priority to get released. Hopefully it shows it's face soon
  24. Woah the Space Skulls for $60? I thought they were like $100 in America! Just what I need, more Lego tempting me on the shelves. I just forked out over $200 in two days when I bought the Harley Quinn/Batman set and the Town Plan on sales...although I'll probably be able to withstand the allure of the space sets...as cool as they are.

Drats. Oh well, with the Town Plan now in my possession, I couldn't have afforded it anyways.
