I reckon we'll get a couple more Bat-sets, but I don't think it'll be the DC domination we saw in the first wave. There'll probably be another Superman set (I know I read there were talks of a Daily Planet set) and either Green Lantern or Flash or something I reckon. And probably 2-3 Batman sets. I'm hoping for a new/revised Scarecrow minifig personally.

If they want to do the droid dungeon as well as the Rancor pit (to really complete the Palace) then they could place the dungeon directly under the tower maybe? Have it adjacent to the pit, and make the whole set-up two stories

Custom LEGO Avengers Minifigures
Big T replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
Great job man, Hawkeye especially looks so much better than the official one imo. Better head and hair. The Maria Hill is a nicely done custom too. Actually looks like it could be an official Cobie figure to me. Black Widow looks cool, face is much nicer in my opinion, although the pale face compared to the skin tone on the body is a little off putting, and the hair I think would work better darker, but I'm being picky -
Great review man, it was really interesting to hear what you thought of the set, as well as how Lego have evolved since you last bought a set, I always love hearing that kind of thing. I'm not much of a LOTR fan myself, but I do like this set (just not at the Australian price). I must say I love how many figures comes with these sets, they don't really skimp given the size

That's really interesting that they want them following those guidelines. Two Face kinda has the same look (although there's a change in the interpretation somewhat, same as Riddler with the question mark placement.)and the Joker looks along similar lines, even if it is his classic look. If that's the Freeze style we might be looking forward to in the future sets, It looks like we'll get a good version shame we didn't get to see Scarecrow

Hmm It'll be interesting to see what they come up with. The fact research was specified, we will most likely get a few science based sets (Mobile Centre, some kind of compound similar to the Arctic set in the first page), would be kind of cool to see a Sci Fi edge to it, just to make up for the lack of upcoming original space theme

Great review first of all, really showed the set well and nice clear pics. As for the set itself... Lego seem to have something against hospitals, I haven't seen a single hospital set that I'd particularly want. They really need to give it the Police Station kind of set up. Nice and spacious like the last police city set (not the forest one). If I were designing it, I'd skimp on the helicopter (sell that separately) and use the extra pieces to go into the building set up. The ambulance is kinda cute, but pretty weak looking compared to the Great Vehicles one. Makes sense tho, big set vehicles tend to be like that which is fine. Be nice if the garage would fit the bigger one though. Figures are nice, if they fix the printing on the doctor figure I'd be all over that, looks brilliant. Love the paramedic torso's too, good to see them continue it on. Such a shame Lego don't give the Hospital theme's as much focus as the police sets.

What vehicle/figure would they release with that set? Only thing i can think of is the Millennium Falcon since it was travelling there Love how Jabba's Palace looks. Don't really buy the Star Wars sets any more but that is a pretty cool setup

I think the changes made from movie to set was a pretty good and logical one. The Avenging Cycle, while not in the movie, is a pretty iconic Cap America piece and I think a bit of a nod to his fans in general. Plus it would have been tough to do any other small vehicle for him or the other Avengers since the only vehicles used off the top of my head is the jeep at the start (driven by Hill) the helicopter with Nick Fury and the Quinjet/giant floating ship, none of which would be feasible or sell as well as the Captain. Iron Man is another selling point figure. Sure the AFOL's would be salivating over a Nick Fury figure, but most kids would take Iron Man I reckon, and there'd be a lot of kids who would get that set because they can't get the Quinjet due to cost. Plus why would we knock back Hawkeye having that awesome new bow mould just because it doesn't necessarily feature. It's like when Batman was given a whole bunch of batarangs in the original Bat-sets. Didn't need them all, but it's an awesome little add on, and adds playability for kids. Lego will always lean a bit on the side of what would sell better/increase playability, and I think the choices they made make sense. The only thing I didn't get was including Hawkeye in the Hulk breakout set, I think it would have made more sense for Black Widow to be in that set given what happened on screen, but it's obvious they wanted somebody to drive the jet that wasn't a generic goon, and wanted to reuse that awesome bow mould. They saw Hawkeye as a nice easy in between option

There's nothing boring about Liam Neeson I think a Nolan Bane could look pretty epic in Lego, and really liked Cilian Murphy's rendition of Scarecrow, so a lego version of that would be sweet. Would depend if they just stuck to the third movie in regards to sets, especially for Joker
-
That's definitely a new mould, the emphasised brow looks straight outta the Dark Knight What gets me giddy is if they've already made (and possibly producing) a new mould, it suggests to me that there will be Dark Knight Rises (or if they are just updating, more sets) by the end of the year. Would make sense, July is still a few months away, so the superhero sets that we know of would have died down. Plus isn't the new game released around then? Be good to offer sets to buy alongside it

This is absolutely incredible! You've done a great job capturing the feel of the castle and it's surroundings, and all the little underground features really set it off. A great display piece for sure
-
Haha this is brilliant. Love the car, and the plants are both distinctly lego without looking too blocky or anything. The bank looks like it's inspired by the one that came with Two Face, am I right or is it just coincidence?

Wow going over the progress photos really makes me appreciate the end product. Fantastic MOC man, the exterior looks really nice, and I like the diagonal entry point too. Good job

From a strickly marketing perspective, you would think Lego will release one or two more Batman sets around the time of Dark Knight Rises. The Superheroes sets would have been out for a while (possibly off the shelves if the rumours of quick turn arounds are to be believed) and the kiddies and AFOL's will be hungry to have sets based off the movie around that time. The real question is will they go all out and give us the new characters? I hope so. It'd be great to get a Nolan Bane, Catwoman and Scarecrow (especially Scarecrow, he's one of my favourite characters and we haven't got him since the original Bat sets.

Thanks...that tune is going to be stuck in my head all night now

I'm not sure if it means anything I'm unsure how they do the pre-release pics for books like this), but the shadow of the figure on the book is shaped like a regular minifig, it doesn't have the Batman cowl shape. May just be for the initial photo though. It'd be cool if it was a new Alfred minifig, since we didn't get him in the Batcave, but I'm sure whatever it is it'll be a pretty cool figure. Preferably some kind of unique attire if it's Batman (Dark Knight Returns style haha?)

Rumors and speculation: Haunted House Modular
Big T replied to forumreader's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
If Lego did kind of let this image leak to see what people thought of it, I'd say it's a success. That looks like such a cool haunted house though. Exactly what you picture when you think of one. It's not something I'd normally get, but it looks too good to pass up. Worst case scenario, I convince myself to get it and MOD it into an Arkham Asylum -
I'm a Batman fanatic, so excuse the bat-centric ideas... Riddler's trap A death trap room of some kind with saw blades etc. A hostage (random cop or Vickie Vale maybe?) and Batman. I'd love for Riddler to be dressed in a green question mark suit (doesn't have to be exactly like the Arkham City look, I just prefer it to the spandex look). Could fill the Batwing price point. Would have plenty of play features, and I think it'd be a popular set with kids since it'd look really cool haha. And I also want Riddler to get a proper question mark cane too. Scarecrow's blimp Harks back to the Animated series. Scarecrow (I'm picturing a similar look to his previous figure), two Scarecrow henchmen (and for the coolness factor, give them gas masks!) Jim Gordon and Bats. for the good guy vehicle, make it a Gotham Police chopper (doesn't always have to be a Bat-vehicle) Gordon driving might not be practical, but who cares, it's a good way to get a Gordon figure. I'm thinking this fills in the Batmobile set price range Iceberg Lounge The Batcave sized set. A cool (oh dear pun intended) two story set up with Facade. Have one floor be dedicated to the lounge part of it , with ice themed tables/chairs etc, and the other be where Penguin stashes the goods. Would come with Penguin, a Penguin goon, another random villain (either re-release or use it as a chance to introduce another maybe lesser known villain), Batman and Nightwing. Could have a collapsing wall/floor playfeature among other things. Joker's kidnapping A medium sized Joker van (probably clown inspired, although I'd love it to be a rip off of the 'SLaughter is the best medicine truck from Dark Knight, but it's not something I see Lego doing) with Joker driving and Oracle in the back. Robin on a Robin-Cycle chasing him down. Would be a good chance to get an Oracle figure (I think she's a must, but I can't see many realistic outlets for them to make a set for her) and also gives them a chance to do a red/green Robin. Two new figures sell the set, and Joker is always popular. Would be the Superman/Luthor sized set.

This is the only Superhero set i have so far (it won't be my last though ) and I must say this is a great set. I seem to be in the minority, but I actually prefer this Batmobile to the previous ones. This is the smallest of the bunch, and next to other regular city cars, it's still a lot bigger, but it looks like it belongs. Two Face also looks a lot nicer in person I think. I was unsure when I saw the colour scheme, but it works. The bank is also pretty cool as an add on, but it needs a bit of MODing in the long run. Well worth the buy imo Good review too, I think you captured everything really well, especially how dense the Batmobile is. I was shocked too.

Oh cool thanks for the info man. Cool that the pic kind of gives her away too now

I hope it's not a TRU exclusive, don't have one down here in Tasmania, but you're probably right. It'll be interesting to see what kind of price it ends up being down here, and when it arrives. -
That might be a bit hopeful. Batman was in all bar one of the sets, and is based on different interpretations. Most of the Marvel sets are based on one source material (the movie) and the characters aren't doubled up in quite as many sets. Reckon we'll just get the one style for each guy for this wave. Down the track tho I'd expect to see some new interpretations or variations. I'm really curious to see how they do Black Widow honestly. Judging on the trailer and photos, her hair might need a new mould which could look really cool if done right.

I can confirm that. The Target Launceston had all of the DC Superhero sets (barring the Funhouse and the hero factory style ones). Picked up the Batmobile/Two Face. Brilliant set. The others can wait a little bit, that was the one I wanted most.
