Send Megabloks an email. I got a Megabloks set as a birthday present a few years ago, and it's was missing a piece. I sent them an email, and they sent me the pieces, and another small set (think Creator minis).

All of the Harry Potter sets are available at TRU at Yonge and Eglinton in Toronto! I'm sure they will if you ask. I got one a few weeks ago before they were officially out here.

Happy birthday Stash!

Happy birthday, Lasse!

Are you interested in North American or European types of trucks? I'm from Canada, so when I think of those types of trucks, I think of Mack Granites. As for current models to work off of, check out Ralph's and Chris' models for inspiration, and I shamefully promote my own work as well. Our own KimT created a great guide with many, many advanced building techniques, which you can find here.

Does anyone know where I could find Lego knock-offs
Ricecracker replied to ThePurpleLegoBrick's topic in Community
Actually, it's not. You might want to brush up on the Site Guidelines, and read this thread. -
They had two opened boxes at TRU at Yonge and Eglinton today.

Let's celebrate our Reviewers Academy 2nd Anniversary!
Ricecracker replied to WhiteFang's topic in Forum Information and Help
I can't believe that's it's already been two years! I'd like to say thanks to all of the teachers who've help me shape my reviews to become what they are today. I *hope* to be able to achieve my Gold badge this year, but if not, I'll get my Silver. Keep doing what you do teachers, and students! -
Thanks you Peter! I would imagine hitting a kangaroo would be much like hitting a deer or moose, so I can imagine what it would do to a vehicle. Here's a pic of a roo bar for those needing to google it.

Then there's The Brick Chick's car and license plate, also from Ontario. I think Hinckley mentioned once that he, too, had a LEGO related license plate, but I may be wrong,

Neither TRU at Yonge and Eglinton or Dufferin Mall have them, BUT Wal Mart at Dufferin Mall does have four boxes of them, though they were extremely picked through. The most in a single box was 42, and the others had significantly less. I don't know about the Wal Mart on Lawrence - I called both yesterday before I went and was on hold with both for a total of 35 minutes...

What would you do if you were banned from your country's LUG forum
Ricecracker replied to Zerobricks's topic in Community
That's sad to hear. Does your LUG hold elections? If so, you could try waiting until someone else is in charge, and then talk to them. If not, try contacting members of the LUG through other means, and if enough people appeal/complain to him, he might realize that it's not benefitting anyone to have you banned. -
Thanks, again! Often times, no, they aren't that high, but on many trucks they are, as you can see here or here. (They're actually the same truck, but it's somewhat hard to tell)
-
Yes, you did.

Thank you all! Feel free to base the design of your bull-bar off of mine.

But does the current (past) poll function not already assume anonymity? As far as I can tell, it doesn't say the names of everyone who voted... Not trying to start an argument here, just curious.
-
What's up with the public/private poll options? Where would we need private polls here? I was thinking for contests, but even that seems unnecessary with the post-vote method.

On my fairly recent trip to New York City, I noticed many of the vehicles, including cars had various types of bull-bars on the front. The distinct vertical grille of the CityStar posed a challenge with the bull-bar. All large cities have delivery trucks like these - small cabover refrigerated trucks with graffiti on the sides. And yes, Rice is built using regular purple, not dark purple. 肉 means 'meat' in Japanese. Thanks to Def for the translation! Unfortunately, with all of the SNOT work used for the graffiti, there is little room for an interior, much less an opening door. IM are my initials. Even though I didn't manage to get a working door in, there is a slide-out ramp. Thanks!

Indigo at Yonge and Eg has the Games in, including Hogwarts! The LEGO is in the kids section on the top floor.
-
Happy birthday Def, and everyone else! Maybe I'll go get you something from the TRU at Dufferin Mall for you.

No luck with figs in Toronto. I was at a Wal*Mart in the west end last week, and they hadn't gotten them yet, and the TRU at Yonge and Eg says they'll be getting them in September. BTW, at least at my TRU, Series 1 figs were in the "R" Zone, which is the video game section. I assume it'll be the same for Series 2.

My TRU (Yonge and Eglinton, Toronto) now has many of the new Star Wars sets, except for Cad Bane's speeder. They have a huge amount of the games, and almost all of the other sets that are out in stores right now. I didn't however, see any train sets. The Indigo in Yonge and Eglinton has their usual assortment of City and Creator sets, but it seems that they recently put out a huge amount of Tiny Turbo and Creator Mini sets, as well as four different Star Wars Battlepacks. The De Serres art store a few blocks west on Eglinton has two full boxes of Series 1 minifigs for $2.99 each, so if you're in the GTA, that's the only place I know of to get them!

You know, some people might misinterpret that second to last picture. On a serious note, the set is chock full of great and useful colours - like the Nougat parts and the Tan and Medium Blue tiles. A Medium Blue 2x4 tile would've been nice instead of two 2x2s, though.

Thanks, everyone!

I don't quite think you understand just how much crap they deal with on a daily basis without us knowing. I'm not trying to bash the supporters in any way, as I think ideas like this should come up in a forum as open as this one, but I personally don't think the idea is very good.
