  1. I don't want to start any arguments here, but from my visits to the U.S, many basics like food often cost more, not to mention fuel. There are many other costs and taxes that help equalize total money spent per capita between the countries. If you really are that annoyed with the price difference, though, the only thing that you can do is stop purchasing LEGO. I don't think that's a good solution whatsoever, but to each his own, I guess. Often times, it is actually being shipped from the states, especially S@H orders. Check the shipping label next time you place an order.
  2. I was thinking more of a Mazda RX-8 for the red one, but now that Ralph mentioned it, I definitely see the resemblance to the S2000 as well. Can't wait to see the final product!
  3. Asking that makes it difficult for anyone to help you. Put together a wanted list and start searching through stores to see if they have the parts you need.
  4. Welcome to Eurobricks, Bricksonwheels! You already know a bunch of us around here, Ralph and myself being two of the. Gambort, lego911 and others are also here, though post less often. Hopefully you'll like it here!
  5. Yes I did. They look amazing!
  6. Thanks LT! Feel free to use the design if you want. The exhausts are chrome. It was very fun. If I had seen you, I probably would've made the stripes on the cab thinner, but I don't mind all too much. Thanks. It's always nice hearing from some of my favourite builders. Recreating LEGO sets of different scales has always intrigued me, and this the closest I've come. It was quite fun. I think I'll actually do it sometime.
  7. Ralph's amazing Scania Recovery Truck, which many of you have seen, is actually part of something bigger. This months LUGNuts challenge was to build one vehicle in multiple scales. Neither Ralph nor myself had time to build two vehicles individually, so we worked together. Ralph built the large, Model Team scale truck, and I built the smaller, Minifig scale truck. The truck can tow many of my current vehicles, and has functioning outriggers and a boom that can be raised and lowered. There is also a winch used to recover vehicles. You can see more of my truck on my flickr page.
  8. TRU at Yonge and Eglinton is under renovation, but still open. They've now moved the LEGO section to where part of the "R" Zone was. They've got the Public Transport and TRU Delivery Truck sets in, as well as all of the summer Technic sets, for those Technic lovers who were worried about a repeat of last year's Crane Truck. Prices were: -Excavator: $249.99 -Mobile Crane: $129.99 -Container Truck: $89.99 -Motorcycle: $54.99 They've also restocked many other sets, including the 30070 LGM Promo sets. I didn't see any of the new Star Wars sets. An employee said that the last he heard about series 2 minifigs was September, though I expect we'll start seeing them at Wal*Marts in early-mid august.
  9. This is a great raffle, CopMike! I don't I'm going to enter, seeing as I already have one myself, but thank you nonetheless.
  10. August (starting 2011) - BricksNorth. Canada's premiere LEGO Convention. I'll post a link up once the website is unveiled, which should be fairly soon.
  11. Those are the European bar codes.
  12. Don't forget the Agents Robo Attack fig parts. Or were those just for the event? I didn't end up going to the store afterwards.
  13. Another thing, after upgrading to Safari 5, whenever I click reply or edit, it allows me to do so, but takes me to a different already open tab. This wasn't an issue with the older versions of Safari, so it may not be a fault of the forum.
  14. Right after I wrote that post, I thought that might've been what you meant, but didn't edit it because then it might've looked like I misspelled the correction. EDIT: I like your reason for the edit.
  15. A quick search of the forum will yield this thread, which is also a pinned topic.
  16. Thanks for the pic, Whung! It looks like we'll be getting new parts in Medium Dark Flesh, including a new arch and a clip of some sort. Also, the skates are just these pieces. From what I can tell, it has seven and a half minifigures!
  17. No more stores in Canada have been announced yet. The Calgary store is testing a new market for Canada, so don't expect a new store anytime soon, and honestly, I doubt Manitoba will be getting one anytime soon after that... Besides, if there is a new store opening in Canada, it'll be big news here, remember when we first heard about the Calgary store?
  18. The TRU at Yonge and Eglinton is undergoing renovation/construction, so some parts of the store are re-organized. The Lego section is the same size and is in the same spot, it just might be a little more confusing to get to.
  19. I just noticed that the default font for the fast reply in the messenger is different from the default used throughout the rest of the forum. Is it on purpose?
  20. Just thought I'd let everyone know that at least some Chapters/Indigo stores are carrying the Collectible Minifigs. I bought most of a box on Friday, and they said that they had some more in the back.
  21. Why not just post this in the After-Action Reports topic?
  22. I went there twice yesterday, and it was great fun! I got there between 8 and 9, and surprisingly there wasn't much of a line. The exclusive set is nice, though I haven't opened it up yet. I had had to be in the Bronx by 10:15, so I didn't stay for long... Honestly, the PaB wall doesn't seem much bigger than PaB walls at other stores (though I have only been to two other stores), and sets are priced above MSRP, though definitely below TRU at Times Square . I went back later in the day around 2:45 and built a bit with the green bricks with my family, and watched them put the finishing touches on the giant Apple. They closed at 3, so I left shortly after. Nope, they're already out of stock .
