  1. Masked, I'm wondering what torso you are using for Guts?
  2. The raider rolled his eyes, shouldn't the alchemists be providing them with consumables, instead of the other way around? Nevertheless, he gave each Alchemist 1 Grand Potion and 1 Remedy. "I expect back what you don't use." The raider also took a Nostrum, Smelling Salts and Mead. Guts peeked through the door.
  3. There was at least one rat in the basement battle of 23 as well. And there was a Ratmancer in 40!
  4. The raider raises an eyebrow. "I have nothing to prove or disprove, girl. I get things done. Right now, our mission is to see to it that these people are not harmed. That should be all that matters." Guts handed the scroll to the girl, then said to the others: "I'll make sure we will not be followed." To Ellaria, he growled: "You should treat reputations and rumours for what they are. Someone might take offense."
  5. Guts holds out the Scroll of Weakening: "Perhaps one of you could you use this, for now. I would like it back when we are finished."
  6. ]I know there was a round in Quest 34 where there were like 5 special damages in a row. Luckiest is harder to say, because of Nostrum and stuff.
  7. "Like I said, let's get on with it."
  8. "Job sounds straightforward enough. Let's get on with it." The raider wondered why they would not just stay in the Guildhouse, it was probably one of the five most secure buildings in Eubric, the others being Fort Bonaparte, Chateaux Shadeaux, Guffington Manor and of course Heroica Hall. But it wasn't his place to question. The job sounded simple enough, and it gave them the chance to round up a dangerous mage. "You can call me Guts Holla."
  9. Stats are good, thanks for choosing me! Guts leaned against the wall while listening. A mage. Figured. "It's customary to have a party leader. I'd also like to know everything about this mage we are likely to run into. Who has he killed before, and why? And how do you know these three are likely to be next? Is our job simply to escort these people to the safehouse, or are we expected to deal with the problem at it's root, the mage?"
  10. It's funny, I am not sure what to think of Arthur at this point. He is just so sad and lost, yet I feel the desire to hate him as well. He was a Chaos Fanatic and could not shut up about it. Now that that has been taken away, all that is left is just a kid, a boy that is far from becoming a man, that has to deal with the consequences of his actions. How is Arthur going to prove his intentions are pure, that he feels real regret? And more importantly, how is he going to attone? Despite what he tells himself, some sleepless nights and the fact that he has to live with his actions will not be enough retribution. Not to the others, and probably not to himself as well. I think it's great roleplay.
  11. The raider stands up. He smiles faintly, and says to Nerwen: "It seems duty calls... I'll speak to you when I get back, if you're here. Stay safe." He starts walking away, then turns back, and adds: "Oh, and I promised some copper to a kid to warn me if anything goes on with the ship." The faint smile still there, he walks on, nodding to Skrall, Dyric and Haldor as he walks past. When he comes to Arthur, who is blocking the path after his tyrade, his smile turns into a smirk, before going on, bumping into the sorcerer as he walked past, Guts mumbled: "You might be quick to forgive your own mistakes, but that doesn't mean that others will. Sleep light, kid." With that, the Raider had left the Hall once more.
  12. R.I.P Ameribricks Never forget, 2013.
  13. The raider lifts an eyebrow. "That sounds... horrible. Exorcists are everywhere these days, and half of them actually do something. Demons must be purged, but such measures... Anyway, I can't imagine the Mistress and Lord of the sea would take offense at us, as long as we make the proper sacrifices. If everyone that killed a Bonaparte would be sucked to the ocean floor, there would be a lot less pirates out there." Guts sits back: "I thought you were perhaps still angry over what happened under Eubric. Tell me something, do you believe that Prophet's predictions? Mine has not come true, and I can't imagine it will."
  14. Guts slowly closed the book in front of him. "Nerwen, I thought you might have been avoiding me. Since we got that ship, I thought it would be best to use it as best we can. Don't know if these books are helping much though, I was never one for theory. What is it you want to do with the ship, it's yours for one third."
  15. You probably won´t see the money again. You´re talking about the guy that tried to steal scrolls lend to him and sold an item given to him to give to someone else.
  16. I´m pretty sure he was aware. I really can´t figure out why though. Was it a move to show Arthur is ignorant, or a patron to the homeless, or something?
  17. The raider looked up from his book when he heard a mage giving the man gold. Guts opened his mouth to say something mocking the young man, but decided against it. If he was smart, he wouldn't have become a mage in the first place. There was no cure for stupidity, not yet, anyway.
  18. Guts patiently waited down the stairs, while the "gentleman" went upstairs. When it was finally done, the Raider quickly passed the man, books in hand. Poor sport, to barge into a place and ask for money, whoever it was. 70 gold, most families could eat for three months with that amount of money. But the Raider did not spend any time on the beggar. He had to learn how to properly work a ship.
  19. The raider chuckled at Byblos skittishness, took a quick look at the shelf, and grabbed a couple that looked of import (Tides and Currents of the Free Islands, Sailing for Beginnners, Terra Chiman Ships, Your First Vessel), and then walked back to the Hall. Scholars, he would never understand. Knowledge was useless without power, after all.
  20. Guts opened the door to the Library. He walked around a few bookcases, then asked: "Metasimian, are you here? I'm looking for a book on Sailing."
  21. Backstory is both what I love about Roleplaying and the bane of my existence. My backstory for Guts is a short novel, basically, with a lot of things covering a lot of different subjects. Of course he's influenced by his backstory a TON, but I don't think that limits further development in Quests, so I will have to disagree with you on that. I don't think you need to have a partially blank character to be able to develop later. You can have a perfectly fleshed out character that can still evolve and change. Or at least that's what I hope is happening. It was a lot of fun for me to figure out what things happened to Guts to make him the tired old man that he is now, but it can indeed limit you, in the way that there are some things that your character would never do. A bad thing? Probably not, as limitting yourself to stuff is a key ingredient of good roleplay, I feel. Also an issue I have is, what is a good way to display this? I have tried twice with flashbacks, but I don't really like that way, as it is basically you talking to yourself. So that leaves the character revealling it himself, but with Guts being a distrustful guy and all, there is a good chance you will never get to see everything, which is kind of sad to me. I don't want to tell you how to play your character, but if you are going to do that, you should make sure your character pisses off the other characters, and doesn't start to annoy the players. Does that make sense?
  22. I thought I had it, but it didn't completely fit, still working on it!
  23. And that IS one cool puzzle, I'm having fun solving it at the moment!
  24. I'm not overpowered, just misunderstood. Although your ways of preventing me from getting that are extreme.
