  1. Who knows with Disney Star Wars and their "no one is ever really gone" mantra. But yeah, would be too soon for release. Still have some sceptism regarding the January wave being this big all of a sudden. Wouldn't mind it at all. Just need to get used to it, i guess. You kinda convinced or at least reminded me it's gonna happen. So hopefully it won't even come to this.
  2. Yeah, i mean Lego is releasing desirable minifigures left and right the past few years, but getting Skywalker Saga figs just hits different compared to Disney era Star Wars stuff. Getting obscure characters or even some glaring omissions for the former can seemingly happen anytime nowadays... you kinda expect them at this point. But for the latter, since nearly every property gets shoved to the side beyond the initial wave(s) and kinda takes a backseat to Mando, you can't be that certain... it feels less likely and not as predictable. Although we did receive the TROS Palpatine and Babu Frik after all these years. So yeah, you can't rule out anything unless Lego explicitly tells us it will never happen. Which is obviously not how they operate. All i wanna say is... Possibly getting a TBOBF Cad Bane in 2026 surprises me much more than getting a Lama Su in 2025. Look, i like talking to you. It's quite easy for me to enjoy. But now i'm gonna hold you to this. If what you told me doesn't pan out at all, i will put the blame solely on you. Not myself. Not @Renown. Not Lego. Not anybody else. Just you. Yep, that's the difference between printed robes and kamas. I like that the former further distinguishes otherwise generic looking Jedi minifigures being decades in the making. Oh, i think the best approach could or would work on both paper and in practice. But that's obviously not going to happen on Lego's behalf, so it's just back to theory, i guess. And for me understandable ones to ignore. A freaking Bust of all things... More system scale sets or bust! We are not. I think the sub-theme for this set will depend on the actual release date. If the leaks indeed just cover the January wave, it has to be based on Book of Boba Fett. Because if it's based on a scene for the new Mando movie, it would be too soon getting into spoiler territory.
  3. I still got my fair share of his hints and should know better in this regard for sure. But i'm still just at a point where i basically don't allow myself to fully believe or even expect it. Hence why i cautiously optimistic wanna bet on it. Well, here's hoping there wasn't any blue milk involved this time around. Oh baby... So you are telling me there is more than a chance? I actually thought this minifigure will never see the light of day. This would be super special to me. That's true. Both are very rare, the former probably be more expensive than the latter, yet both would be helping making it look less like gun holsters. Okay, that's an interesting take. Though i have that stance the other way around. I can't stand the printed kamas, but i don't mind the printed robes at all. Let's say you remembered the major stuff. The rest was supposed to be a Vader Bust and midi-scale Venator.
  4. This guy gets it. A man of culture and terrific taste. It would be a great way to kick off the next year indeed. Not that i would doubt the actual upgrade, but if i look at the overall quality standard of modern Lego Star Wars minifigures, i think we are still ways off getting dual molded legs more reliably. In terms of just using the printed solution, it might be helping if it was to extend to the side of the legs. Other than that... Just bring back the damn cloth kamas! But yeah, like you said, in an ideal world. Ah yes... i see. Aware of the seagulls meme, i am. Sounds like some good fun, it does. Talking no more about this, i will.
  5. Probably far before my time. You care to elaborate what happened at the "screaming Yoda takeover"? Okay, with the Rancor's friendly permission, i would like to bet a TBOBF Cad Bane minifigure is gonna release in any given 2026 set. I need someone who thinks it won't. Winner gets to choose the loser's avatar for an to be determined amount of time.
  6. Just please be true... Although he could just as easily refer to us in a "be careful what you wish for" kinda way... please be true. I. Need. This. Figure. In. My. Personal. Collection. Are avatar bets by any chance allowed or even a thing on this forum? I would gladly take on that challenge.
  7. Hmm, beforehand there was always a "Limited Edition" Lego Star Wars card and sometimes even a Booster Pack of the Trading Card game included, yet the price consistently stayed the same at five/six Euros. So not too sure this price increase, 33% no less, was caused by any more extras. Contrary to the last price increases starting from four bucks, they actually included more minifigs on a yearly basis, so i was fine with that. This one, however, seems to appear out of thin air and doesn't make any sense to me.
  8. Was zum Henker... I mean, this deal is really getting worse all the time. This makes no fun anymore. Good luck getting a discount on this one! I already got the Ahsoka from last year's Advent Calendar, so i wasn't picking up this magazine anyways, but these crazy price hikes obviously do not bode well for future ones. Like why would anybody want to get a trooper for eight bucks when you can have a Battle Pack for ~15€? It's just not worth it anymore. From what i recall, just like the figure selection may vary be region, so too can the price point for selected magazines by like a Euro or so... not sure about the UK, though.
  9. I think we both know the answer to that. We want the real deal or nothing at all. I actually think some throwaway stuff would make matters worse. It very well could be more like the final nail in the coffin, rather than a sliver of hope. And only intensify the desire for the full set, which then may not happen anymore. I never saw anyone who likes the printed waist capes. There might be some people who don't mind them per se, but actual liking? Even the most blinded fanboy would be hard pressed to pretend this, though.
  10. No problem. And don't worry... i feel your comments. It's like people are so full of clone fatigue that it clouds their judgement when it comes to even more possible sets. Yeah, the aforementioned AT-AP, which received three versions so far, is another great example. And what about the Republic Fighter Tank? It got zero seconds of screen time in the PT and has a more famous presence in the Battlefront games. It still saw three releases as well. So to say the UT-AT can't even work as a one and done deal is a real head scratcher to me. The only point i agree with is that it wouldn't be suited as one of the flagship sets. But in the price range of up to ~80 bucks? Absolutely.
  11. There were a couple of design flaws like the loose wings when you spin that thing. Or the underbelly of it being just extremely ugly, but yes... It was more famous for it's egregious pricing and less an structural desaster like the new Turbo Tank is. So the CTT hit me harder beyond the minifigures. Me too. While i was reading, listening and writing english every day regardless, this is actually my very first serious long-term attempt at a english based forum. And i feel quite comfortable to be playing my part by now. How anyone in this day and age can think a solidly executed UT-AT can't sell well because of obscurity or it's form factor is beyond me. The Clone Turbo Tank sucks megablocks but it's feared to be picked up by many fanatics because of the desirable minifigures. But the UT-AT wouldn't because it's less regocnizable? Come on, now... The "obscurity" argument is overrated. It's less about kids absolutely having to know certain vehicles and more like yet another cool looking thing with Clone Troopers at the ready for action.
  12. I mean, it's even explainable to some extent. This is the first CTT with a removable roof. So it's only logical you shouldn't try to pick it up there. But what happened to the rest of the top section? It's not like Solid Brix Studios threw this thing against a wall or something. He applied just enough pressure to pick it up and it was all falling apart in an apocalyptic manner. Still shocked about this. The unjustifiable Justifier bothered me because i initially missed out on Cad Bane... didn't really care for his ship. But the Tiny Turbo Tank bothers me more, because of both the new minifigures AND the actual set i have waited so long for. Don't know if i can come around on this one. Okay, i will keep this in mind. Not the first time you taught me a little language lesson. And for starters, i think it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to stop advertising the plaque as literally perfect. Even though, like i mentioned, i think there are worse or more meaningful marketing blunders out there.
  13. Oh yeah, you are right. There was no 4+. Just the confusion with the RTG Snowspeeder. I got this one mixed up. Thank you. This gotta be a classic case of completely slipping through quality assurance. Nobody must have picked up the Clone Turbo Tank from the top. Otherwise they would have noticed that this thing is about as stable as a house of cards. At least that's what i "hope" has happened... Because if they were aware of it all and just didn't care in the first place, there might be more sets like this upon us. And yes, this is a sad thing to see. A set with this many shortcomings at this price point... for such a highly requested popular vehicle. How can the 2022 AT-TE be awesome and this Turbo Tank this awful? The quality gap is huge beyond belief... when it should have been close to each other. While it's still ways off, i might need to put a new birthday gift on my wishlist. Typical Lego marketing move. While i get they have to make the product look as appealing as possible in order to attract more customers, there should be a fine line between this and straight up false advertisement. Due to the renders of the minifigures, i am used to the colors not being as sharp as they show on the box. Like when they print white on black or something. Or the big ugly (>>how do you say in english?<<) in the center of printed UCS plaques. But they shouldn't highlight the printing on spots where it's not on the final figure. If you show helmet A, you better deliver helmet A, not B. This form of marketing is pushing it in my eyes. Makes the aforementioned "fine line" pretty blurry.
  14. I absolutely agree. Usually don't get too emotionally invested in criticizing of what is essentially a toy, either. But the Clone Turbo Tank hits different for me. I have waited a long time for a new one. Still regret not getting the 2016 model. Took it with a good amount of humor when this Tiny Tank finally got leaked and officially revealed. Yet another highly overpriced (and then some) set that will still be worth getting at a deep discount later on, i thought. But seeing the structural integrity being this incredibly flawed, left me speechless in some sequences... and sad. No minifigure FOMO can change this right now. As well as it shouldn't. And yep... i have said it many times here already, too... Overall, if executed reasonably, i don't mind Lego's ways of downsizing sets. On the contrary, i usually prefer the new more compact scale of some ships. The 2021 TIE Fighter you've mentioned is a great example of that. While the same year's X-Wing was very impressive for being sold at half the Euro price compared to the 2018 version (which i also quite like). But yeah, the CTT is meant to be a huge vehicle, so it just doesn't lend itself well to being downsized even further. Especially not at the disadvantages of less detailed design and shabby stability, which both should have been the typical trade-offs for being smaller scale to begin with! AND fragile! Which is an absolute no-go at this smaller scale. And to be fair, pretty unusual for Lego Star Wars quality standards these days. Like, you can think what you want about the trend of downscaling sets, most of them got more robust than ever... with or without technic handle. To see such an outlier, doesn't make any sense to me. And i'm not sure if this is for me anymore... It certainly got harder for me to justify after watching this review. Clone Turbo Tank and Jango's Slave 1... This year is tough in terms of the downsizing. Lego got too "creative" when it comes to forcing these sets into specific price points they either don't belong to (Slave 1) or aren't just nearly providing enough value (Republic "Juggernaut"). This. But unfortunately, the power of forcing desirable minifigures into another flagship set was stronger. The UT-AT would obviously never matched this price tag. Simply basing the CTT on Kashyyyk, although repetitive, would have been a better way as well. More expected standard figures would have meant no expensive helmet moulds and kept the price down. And thus, a reasonably bigger budget left for the actual build. Or how about they didn't spread themself so thin by wasting 150+ pieces on buildable wheels?! Size-wise, it could have at least matched the 2016 model and it would have been so much better. Even for this price... Seriously, so many other routes this could have gone instead. Well, being just shy of 20 cent per piece in the US, it certainly screams 4+ set. In hindsight, this is actually pretty hilarious, as the first rumors had the CTT described as being the 4+ set for $55.
  15. Yep, i see it in this very moment and can not believe it. What an absolutely abysmal display. Just can not fathom how much Lego screwed this set up and what went wrong there. While it was always gonna be extremely overpriced, i thought at least the set itself would be good for what it is. That you could buy it with a good conscious at a certain price point. But boy, does it have some structural flaws. For such a compact scale, it is just unacceptable. The downscaling is supposed to work in favor of the set's stability... not against. Downright shocking. And now i need to find my jaw again.
  16. Ha, and i am one of them. I don't get it. Though im quite confident i wouldn't have any issues with it. I like dark humour. And it is my conviction everybody can poke fun about anyone or anything. They call us this, we call them that, it's perfectly fine. As long as you don't drop to a personal level, i don't see any good reason to be seriously offended. I like the idea of comedy being subjektive, so you don't have to find everything funny. But as a result, you don't have to take it personal and make it anyone elses problem, either. You can just accept there are many facets of humour which appeals to different kinds of people's taste and move on. Because at the end of the day, it's just a joke. Nothing more, nothing less. But yeah, i am from the country where "Schadenfreude" comes from. I like to laugh a lot, it’s a very healthy thing to do. They even say it’s the best medicine. So i am totally extra biased in that regard. Back to topic. Some of my Lego Star Wars 2025 set ratings: Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter 9.5/10 Death Trooper & Night Trooper Battle Pack 8/10 Ahsoka's Jedi Interceptor 7/10 ARC-170 Starfighter 7/10 Only the sets that i do own right now. I don't know yet how much the actual price point should factor in for the scores. While it’s undoubtedly tied to the product, buying it cheaper or more expensive doesn’t actually magically make or break the overall quality of a set, just make it a deal for better or worse.
  17. Come again? What do you mean? I mean things like calling Obi-Wan "Space Jesus" and such stuff. That's pretty funny to me.
  18. Well, Star Wars has always been political, so it checks out. And some harmless fun is not hurting anyone, is it? I don't know what's to dislike about Wicket's face. Actually think his design is pretty adorable. Definitely one of the better buildable characters out there. A far cry from the abomination you may know as creepy Chewie. Also hilarious this and the Battle Droid with STAP are the only 2025 sets with Skywalker Saga branding. JB Spielwaren has a review (english and german) of the Republic Juggernaut available for your viewing pleasure. I almost don't dare watching this disaster.
  19. Ah well, considering how far Lego is willing to go, i wouldn't mind this screen inacuracy at all. Like you said, it would have been an awesome addition. Just feels weird to have Mace Windu and now General Obi-Wan with splendid arm printing, while plain old Anakin is still missing out. Or Lego might be about to bombard us all with Phase 1 Clone Troopers. Yes, it all feels so generic. You take a look at the back of the box and when you see the same things over and over again, you begin to ask yourself why they even bother to put them on there anymore. Obviously for newcomers... but as a more accustomed customer, it gets rather tiresome. Although, to be fair, they are still able to do the occasional cool play feature. Pressing down on the ramp to open up the UCS Jango's Slave 1 was pretty neat, i thought. It just feels more like the exception rather than the standard nowadays.
  20. My most recent Lego sets were Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter and the Death Trooper & Night Trooper Battle Pack. Next set i'm getting is gonna be a controversial one.
  21. Yep, i reckon, we will get lots of pieces for the minifigures as a basis, a better description of the set sometime in between and major leaks of the whole thing won't be shown until September. I already find it hilarious that my 2024 Droid Carrier holds the same amount of B1s as the upcoming MTT. I'm not too big on price per piece ratio by any stretch of the imagination, but this is quite concerning for me, too. Yep, i imagine it all the time. The Star Destroyer Vs. Clone Turbo Tank are the perfect recent examples of when the downsizing is still fine and when it absolutely isn't. Yeah, i catched up on this, too. A General Skywalker figure should already have been included in Ahsoka's Starfighter, though. This is true as well. In terms of play features, it all got very by the numbers. It doesn't go much beyond "here are your stud shooters" or "hey look, there you can open something" anymore. And even if Lego does something else, it can be at the expense of the design, like the probe droid drop function of the Sith Infiltrator. I don't know, feels like Lego used to be much better when it comes to implementing neat functionality without impacting the set's aesthetics.
  22. Ah yes, thank you. Will regularly use this thread, then. In the meantime, patiently awaiting more Death Star plans. I could have sworn we would at least get one piece per day at this point.
  23. As far as the 2025 summer wave goes, if i am able to get the 327th Battle Pack (heavily discounted) and at least one of the mid-range priced sets (reasonably discounted), while also catching up to some more 2024 sets, all in the second half of the year, i am already a happy man. Come to think of it, is there any thread like last purchased Lego set already available? Or is it on-topic to talk about it here? I know this info is also given on any given profile, but that's for spam preventing, not for the sake of an actual conversation...
  24. Because based on Lego Star Wars 2020s pricing standards (not mine), the $30 set was closest to a $40 set. So now they catched up to this price point and then some. Which, of course, looks utterly ridiculous in such a short timespan. In retrospect, even though Lego probably didn't plan out every little detail to a fault, it was a clever move to put Battle Packs on ice for a year, only to bring them back with some much appreciated improvements. Alongside a hefty price increase, which then got buried in the excitement. If you let people "starve" long enough, the moment you come back to them, they happily take everything from you. It was also not the dumbest idea imaginable to finally bring back the infamously requested 501st troopers in an unofficial, more expensive Battle Pack. While also usher in a new TCW era in the process.
  25. First of all, that's fine. Well yeah, i know Battle Droids do not count as true minifigures, not even based on Lego's advertisement. But since Battle Packs are supposed to be army builders, i don't necessarily think it devalues this idea of it. The 75372 is, of course, a callback to the two 2007 classic Battle Packs. Granted, those were much cheaper, early days in general, but inflation adjusted (even accounting for less droids) the pricing can't be that far off. As for the builds, the Octuptarra Droid would easily qualify for a single BP, while the remaining clone builds, admittedly, would be pushing it. Speederbike would need to be more substantial. But all in all, i see two Battle Packs in there. Albeit in a more cheaper, convenient way for Lego. Of course, the new bigger Battle Packs are an attempt whether or not they can squeeze even more money out of people's pockets. That's why this particular price increase doesn't surprise me in the slightest. That's a fair point with the Imperial Scout vs. Rebel Scout Speeder. However, given the fact this set is a Lego shop exclusive, means you will see next to no actual discounts, which irons out the actual advantage. Because i wouldn't say this set for 40€ is a better deal than getting the new Battle Pack for, say, 30 bucks. And in my little world, BPs should be cheaper than they actually are, too. The original 33% price increase, which didn't even last long, was too much. I just think the order in which you do things, will affect people's perception. If the 75372 was $40 last year and now saw the increase to $45 for the 327th BP, i doubt people would be that mad about it. Despite ultimately paying the same price, you might talk different about it. Because it would be in line with the usual $5 price hikes of the 2020s.
