LEGO Star Wars Set Discussion 2025 - READ FIRST POST!!!

While i wouldn't say that Disney outright killed Star Wars, they didn't do enough to do it justice either. It feels like for every good thing you get two to three mishaps. The consistency definitely isn't there. Too many people doing so many different things. I like your edited list quite a lot. Yep, both goes in both directions. So going from all that data, nothing is set in stone for sure. Although the phasing out - at least temporarily - is more likely than not. I always perceived Lego's PR "we want kids to let the minifigures sit, so we didn't include any capes/kamas" as a way of saying "we don't wanna do those things anymore". As figures can obviously sit just fine with their kamas on. On second thought, i will wait a little before getting the glorious Plo Koon minifigure. Seeing the 15 bucks on the shopping page is messing with my head. Can't bring myself to spent almost the same money for a Microfighter as the new Battle Pack is gonna be. The price gap is just too little. In this case, given they are just five bucks apart, it will always be too small or even smaller in a few weeks, but the discounts will make it more bearable, i guess. Yeah, the bad outweighs the good. Yet given the choice, i wouldn't go as far as to erase everything on the spot. I gotta say, before Andor this would have been kinda tempting. But now... it becomes much more difficult. Yes, i've got the impression they are testing the waters as well. Got reminded of the dual moulded X-Wing pilot helmets, too. Depending on fan feedback, they will continue or dicontinue the new plastic pieces. Day #27 of asking Lego to not minimize the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank. -

For other themes, yes. Which of course (still likely) doesn’t necessarilly have to mean anything for Star Wars right now. Because if we look the other way, while we might mourn the lack of cloth karmas for SW, other themes still get them like nothing changed at all. So for better or worse, we have to keep that in mind. Yep, like i said, they could spread the entire minifigure selection across three and a half months, if they so please. To be fair, i wasn’t a fan of that many characters during the PT to begin with. All that came around when TCW was firing on all cylinders. You know... when they actually took advantage of the TV Show format over Movies and could take their sweet time to develop all these characters, turning plot devices and extras into fully fledged personalities of their own. Other than that, what can i say, i am a huge sucker for all these unique alien head moulds. In my eyes, this natural variety is one of the biggest strenghts Star Wars has over other licensed themes, where the minifigures are rather limited and much more predictable in comparision. But funny to see that we are (in terms of timing) on complete opposite ends in finally getting or not getting a Lego Star Wars set at day one again. Ten bucks was my typcial price point for a Microfighter in the years prior. But this time, i don't wanna wait at all, so i won‘t. -

Yes, that's a fair point. I'm just wondering whether or not there will or even can be a new middle ground, if Lego decides to be done with cloth pieces for good. They might differentiate between pauldron pieces and capes (including Boba's shoulder one), though. And we have not even reached the UCS Death Star wave... The craziest leak season ever could be upon us. Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter, despite the price increase, might be my first Lego day and date purchase since like forever. A presence i have not felt since... i don't know, probably Yoda's Hut from 2018. Just extremely excited for the Plo Koon minifigure. -

I totally get you. But what they are supposed to look like and what Lego does, can or want to do, are unfortunately two different things. Which doesn't make things any better, i know. Just trying to be realistic here. Other than that, what can i say... I don't care too much about accuracy to the source material. If they end up being exactly that, well, that's great. I obviously won't argue against it. But if not, i won't be too fussed about it either. I just need them to look awesome. To me, they can look like that without pauldrons and a backpack. Printed karma on the other hand looks awful. This is where i draw the line. And even then i can be hardly upset about no physical cloth piece, too. If memory serves, the last clone one has happened half a decade ago. -

Well, sure... But will they introduce brand new pauldron pieces, while also keeping or bringing back the cloth ones? I imagine, they wouldn't. Yes, like you said, it's appearant Lego is slowly but surely phasing out cloth pieces. But if specialized moulds gonna stack up this fast, can there even be some sort of middle ground? This is going to be interesting. I certainly won't care if the Galactic Marines come with neither backpacks nor pauldrons. Personally, the biggest glaring omission will be the lack of physical waist capes. -

I didn't even think of judging the new piece based on potential use cases for other minifigures. Just what i saw for the 327th Clone Trooper. And in that first impression, it looked pretty good to me. I reckon, the new pauldron plastic piece won't be an option for future OT Boba Fett minifigures, then. As he would look ridiculous combined with a jetpack. Doing both as one piece might be an option? Sounds weird as well, but considering Lego did a single piece for Jango's helmet/jetpack before, would it be outside the realm of possibility? Stay strong. They don't have to, no. But would it be nice to have some more leaks regardless? Yes. Prepare for the Death Star plans to be shared across... 114 days, so three parts per minifigure, a single head+hair/helmet/torso/legs reveal per day. Doesn't matter whether it's a familiar figure or not. It will just be merciless madness. Funny thing is, if starting in early June, this arbitrarisness would actually (almost) check out with the October release date. -

The 327th Trooper now fully leaked from top to bottom. The legs look exactly like you would expect from Lego's modern standards. All in all it might look a little weirder than usual once the pauldron piece is applied as well. Like yay territory up there and nay territory down there. -

Oh man... I hate to break it to you, but that probably won't be happening. The AT-TE also just had three plain 212th Clone Troopers. So i don't know where your extra 4th and 5th unit is coming from. And if you include Cody and the Gunner for the AT-TE and Bacara for the Turbo Tank, it would be a 5 Vs. 3 cloning situation. I still hope there is at least more to it than we know on either galactic or separatist side. Because four figs for 160 bucks, while also having an even smaller model than before, is frankly a abysmal display. Six figs as well. -

As far as we know, it's just gonna be Ki-Adi-Mundi, Commander Bacara and two Galactic Marines. Though it would hardly be shocking if Lego would throw in their usual two to three B1s as well. Like i can see this Turbo Tank would be more like the AT-TE and not like the Coruscant Gunship. However, still strange we haven't heard about any other figures for this set... Just to be clear, you mean four to five figures in total, or Galactic Marines alone? Nope, even though recency bias is a thing, i think starting from June 1st for some concrete leaks would be a good guess. Day #25 of asking Lego not to lessen the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank. -

Clone Extravaganza or not, there is no denying Lego does some leaps forward in terms of their overall representation. I count three brand new helmet moulds. In addition, the new rangefinder and now the new pauldron piece. Could definitely do worse in that department. I like to think that i kickstarted the whole thing, by saying someday this news drought is gonna end. And shortly after we received several new torsos, helmets and now this. You merely followed suit in my footsteps. -

Yep, they couldn't/wouldn't do that for the 2025 MTT or any set already in production. Enough time to adapt. Also enough time to forget. So pick your poison, i guess. It's not. But the leaker thought so before. Here in Germany the newest Battle Pack is actually back to 20€. Which at this point was a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. Those are all fair points of comparison. New head moulds have ever so rarely been the case in Microfighters before, right? Loved that dialogue delivery. It's among the pictures that you can hear. You keep them coming. In my humble opinion, the May the 4th promos definitely go in the right direction again. So it's tough for me to constructively criticize Lego for making something better again. Coming from the years prior with some minifig-less hunk of junk, i already perceive it as progress when you really wanna get something, but just can't stand the extra paywall, instead of having no interest in the first place. You absolutely can make the distinction between a great set and a bad choice for GWP. The last year's Droid Carrier was basically that. This year's Clone Facility GWP is better balancing the niche and mainstream aspects of it. I think if Lego keeps on hitting this sweet spot, there's not much else that you can do. It will always come down to damn if you do, damn if you don't to some extent. Day #24 of asking Lego not to diminish the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank. -

No, i wasn't aware of that. Still not sure i am now. All i remember is Lego making record revenue year after year. Not by much, but they do. I'm not too sure what timeframe you refer to by "a few years ago". Oh, i like to think that's all they want you to believe. Inflation here, rising costs of resources and production there etc. While those things are very much reality and surely play into it, i am not naive enough to believe that's all there is to it. Like you won't ever see a multi-billion company come out and say "we are just too greedy to avoid any more price hikes for you". They say stuff like "we have been absorbing those costs for years". I never said it does have to be an inferior product to make more profit than you used to. Might as well be another one of those test balloons, where the quality stays about the same, but the price still increases an considerable amount. Also i'm not frustrated in the slightest. Why would i be? This is a good year for me. Lots to look forward to. -

It is. But since i didn't expect the build to be significantly bigger than the last model, I didn't expect any bigger interior as well. When we still thought it was coming with 10 B1s, only then was i somewhat hopeful for a larger capacity. As things stand now, it sucks for sure, but it's hardly surprising. And if they made bank on the 2014 MTT, where do you think the money is going for the 2025 one? It's going straight back to Lego. They are like good old Ben Kenobi saying "of course i know them banknotes, they are mine!" -

According to @Childish_Landino, the new MTT will be similar in size to the 2014 model, but the overall shaping is supposed to be much more accurate. A printed dish is used for the front hatch. The rack can hold half a dozen B1 Battle Droids. Both Commando Droid(s) and Pilot Droid(s) will be included. Price remains unchanged at $160. Nothing groundbreaking. But i honestly didn't really expect anything else. No Commander B1s would be a bummer, though. -

Day #23 of asking Lego not to run a tank over the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank. Thanks again @Mandalorianknight for helping me out in these dark, troubled times. I don't know about your first world Lego problems, but due to the anticipation alone, it certainly ain't easy being a Clone fan right now. That and... Oh, it sounded like i was trying to state more than one reason. -

For the asking price this high and the build allegedly this tiny... it better be. There has to be some sort of justification for the ludicrously low PPP. Ha, isn't that a kinda funny coincidence. Considering the smashing box office numbers, for everybody's sake, i hope not. Otherwise i would fear for the future of Lego Star Wars as a whole. -

Even if i didn't keep track of all the verbs i use for that silly game... i know, i have not. Frankly, i never ever heard about the first two words. But thanks to you, i will use them in the coming days. That will bring me a little closer to my actual goal. Ha, no i was actually referencing Fives from TCW when he says that someday this war is going to end. Oh, please maker not another 84 501st Battle Packs. It's been like 84 years since we had anything else! Like i alluded to before, i think Lego forgot that Endor even exists. Where is the MBS Ewok Village, the Bunker, a Endor Trooper Battle Pack, an AT-ST (new UCS one might be based on that)? Cloud City is criminally underrepresented as well. Why can it ever so rarely get normal sets as well? Remake the 2003 classic, do a standalone Cloud Car... just do something with it! No actionism, something cool. Plus a regular Stormie. I think starting June is a good bet. However, if this piece-by-piece approach continues, leakers are gonna have a field day. Looks legit and looks good to me. -

Well yeah... we did. But to me that does feel like ages ago. Right now, it feels like watching a two hour movie. You want to enjoy it, but can't. Because the pacing drags on and on and nothing really happens. And at the halfway point you think you have already watched like three hours. You still remember what happens up until that point, but you just want things to finally get going for real. Even though you know you don't have a lot of time left. How much longer until we have more 18+ and various other formats than actual system scale sets? It already feels kinda close this year. -

Well, hopefully we at least hear about anything else before that. Yeah, that was my "now a good time?" moment. As far as Lego was concerned, it was not the right time. Or in true Crab Droid fashion, they didn't even consider it. Yeah, i always thought the same thing. A new mould might not even be necessary. Oh, that's right. Definitely! Even the Shadow Trooper was made with the big bucket right away. -

Did other Jedi generals, besides Anakin and Obi-Wan, wore full body armour during the clone wars? I usually just saw them in their standard robes (and heck yeah, she was). I think, they already did. Which would be clearly a case of overcompensation on Lego's part. As the hate was just directed to some Battle Packs (most notably said set 75206), not bigger system scale sets with a broader minifigure line-up. The most recent BPs might have been this popular that they thought "hey, let's put Clones everywhere we possibly can". And yes... Wat Tambor would have been a amazing addition to the MTT. Eh, at this point, i don't really care a great deal for a Battlefront 3 from EA... or anything really from that company. I just hope they stick the landing for Jedi 3 and then i might be done with this publisher for good. The 2016 Battlefront Battle Packs on the other hand were so freaking cool (add me to the agreement alliance @CloneCommando99). They gave us some much needed diversity to army building for both the Empire and especially the Rebellion. Though i like my Imperial Shock Trooper the most. I will never understand why there was no Purge Trooper Battle Back based on Jedi Fallen Order. Timing-wise, it could have been released in the exact year when Lego decided to go on a BP hiatus. This guy is just the worst. While appearances can be decieving, there are some people you just have to give a good look once to know who they are or what they are up to. In this case, being your average greedy YouTuber making stuff up and spreading fake info, in order to capitalize on ignorant fans excitement. Too many people out there are thirsty for more news, myself included every now and then, so they fall for these stupid clickbait thumbnails/titles. Only to realize after a few seconds it's a whole lot of nothing and purely based on speculation and wishlisting. Thanks for reminding me that i am in too deep in the algorithm and need to block that channel and a fair few others as well. Day #20 of asking Lego not to misjudge the upcoming Clone Turbo Tank. -

I fundamentally agree with everything you just said. Like implied, the possibilities between old minifigure remakes and brand new characters are nearly endless. And yes, given Lego's tendency to prioritize Clone Troopers over anything else, going back to the topic that TCW overkill doesn't necessarily mean PT fans are eating good as well, we are indeed off to a good start this year. I am already so happy with the incredibly improved Plo Koon head mould... it's just a thing of beauty. Getting more Jedi again should extend to receiving more main characters as well. Even there, things got better by now. The last couple years we got the most detailed version of Mace Windu yet, finally a modern, non TCW rendition of both Palpatine and Padme, the best Qui-Gon and an unfortunate looking Darth Maul. This year we already got TCW Anakin and Ahsoka, while TCW Kenobi and Ventress are on the way. Now Lego needs to find and count on the Dooku button somewhere in their office again. As far as the Master Builder Series format goes... I would already be satisfied if Lego would actually do something with it again in the first place. Except if it's not to my liking, then I don't care.
