I think it definitely has something to do with too many different showrunners attempting different things. Individualism can absolutely be a good thing. Sometimes you need some fresh eyes to grant you a different perspective you otherwise would have never even noticed. But at the end of the day, you need a solid vision and commitment to a certain quality standard. And this is where i see mixed results, because different people excel in some areas where others fall short and vice versa. So, one director might be good at cinematography and creating good set pieces, the other is better at writing dialogue, while one seems like to never have reveived the memo on what show he actually is supposed to work right now. These circumstances may lead to a show that feels all over the place in terms of tone and thus, is inconsistent in aspects where it definitely shouldn't. Each episode, while obviously a lot of people are working on it, is supposed to be the result of one big creative collaboration from many talents coming together. Instead, it feels like each person in charge of a project sorta does their own thing. This is especially appearant for the cursed Sequel Trilogy, where personal ego got in the way of soul. @Darth_Bane13: From the other thread, i agree that the constant cameos make the galaxy feel smaller than it is. Like i used to say, it makes Star Wars appear as wide as an ocean, but as deep as a puddle. It's this kind of MCU-fication that doesn't really fit Star Wars all too well, in my opinion.

In my location, it was discounted by the same amount as everything else was. So it's difficult to draw any conclusions from that. Will never say no to more anniversary minifigures. In terms.of.filling the missing gapes, it's s just too good of an opportunity to pass up on. I would also love to see a Cantina play set again. For the same reason of adding a few more of those unique Alien characters. This was and still is an awesome idea to do something special and out of the ordinary. Well yeah, they have been so far. But since we haven't had a franchise anniversary that Lego eas celebrating since they introduced the so-called "bonus minifigures" for the 20th theme anniversary, who knows... maybe things are about to change. I would definitely welcome more minifigs for 2027. Agile... maybe? I am inclined to agree. So many things are happening and hitting you only in the moment, but are completely course corrected at the very next chance, making it hard for me to truly care, because it just feels so inconsequential and irrelevant in the grand sheme of things. What should be more than a mere emotional moment, is undermined and reversed in what basically feels like the next scene. Trailer is alright. Did neither increase nor decrease my hype for it. Still looking forward to some of the sets, though. -

I always thought Young Leia was a wasted slot as a anniversary figure. In that regard, she was never a meaningful addition by any stretch of the imagination. So skipping this bizarre set was an easy choice for me. Yep, i think this is something most people can agree on, regardless where we stand for the theme. Well yeah, i hope this thing wasn't terribly successful, so that Lego has little incentive to lock more exclusive anniversary figures behind gimmicky sets. Like i said, this time it wasn't too bad given the lowlight nature of the figure, but i don't wanna see the scenario of highly sought after minifigs getting locked behind other weirdo sets. Some people probably weren't that happy to see Darth Malak tied to the buildable R2, even though this set provides much more value than the aforementioned Droid Builder. You're right. In my place, maybe other regions in Europe, the Sith Infiltrator was a Shop exclusive. But in the US it was more what Lego likes to label a "rare set", so (outside their shops) only available at selected retailers. Yes, Star Wars anniversaries are happening all the time, prompting you to put things into perspective. But the general 50th anniversary has to stand out and deliver something you don't see every day. -

I hope you are right, Mando man. Last year, they did brand the dreadful Droid Builder thingy as one of the anniversary sets. Granted, it also came with what many would consider the lowlight minifigure of the 25th anniversary line-up. And putting Saw Gerrera in the only Lego Shop exclusive set was probably no coincidence either, so we will see. I just feel like Lego is getting better at enticing people to buy occasional products during anniversaries. And for good reason, as it can come down to a win-win situation. When the company makes an extra buck or two, by giving fans what they want, what's not to like? Not wanting to raise expectation level too high just yet, but i hope the 50th Star Wars anniversary is something special and gonna be one for the ages. -

You can count on that. Fair enough. Although you could make the point that many Eurobricks users are also fans of Andor, Empire, Rebels etc. But yeah, don't wanna come across as overly greedy. I'm just telling you since you edited in that infamous blue bounty hunter face, nothing will ever be the same for me. Speaking of two years...if this smart stuff turns out to be even moderately successful for the theme, how high are the chances we have to endure some of it at the 50th Star Wars anniversary? Imagine getting overpriced smart figures or bricks as the actual bonuses. -

Yep, mine too. Count Dooku will be happening next year. Source? My gut feeling. I will gladly add Zam Wesell for my most wanted minifigures. While getting more Phase 1 Clone Troopers would be the logical next step for Lego, they would rank a fair bit lower on my list as well. Of course, there are plenty of prequel characters that we never got beyond all that. But these i like to define as different desires and thus would fall under my own definition of pushing it. They are like a separate category compared to already existing characters that just happened to be missing in action for half an eternity. It's like they are in a league of elite plastic pieces of their own. -

This template would have been awesome for editing in them familiar faces all over these noble knights. Still is a rather fitting opportunity... don't you think? Yes, because the way we know Lego, they won't show anything Lego Star Wars related before the very last seconds of the year. Clone Bro's or not, i would like them to re-release at least one of the more rarer Jedi every year and bringing them up to modern standards. As for 2026, wouldn't say no to a brand new Kit Fisto and, of course, a matching TCW General Skywalker minifigure. Apparently, the latter wasn't actually possible in a very reasonably priced $45 Jedi Starfighter. Probably wouldn't care for a throne room. Just another case for Lego to keep on ignoring the importance of skirt pieces. However i would take a standard release of the Republic Gunship and AT-ST. On the other hand, in order to add a third Snowspeeder to my collection, it would need to trigger my FOMO real hard. -

Yeah, whether this is Lego's ultimate goal or not, they will take things however they come, i suppose. The end result will be the same. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a period of time when there were absolutely no smartphones to be found, because, well, they haven't been invented yet. And when they were affordably available for the mass market, i was almost at adults age already. Can't say that i regret anything about these times. I'm not even mad at Lego for going with the times. Surely it's annoying to see several catalogues absolutely blasted with all that "download this - scan that" type of stuff. I know how creative and imaginative these layouts used to look. Anybody may call me old fashioned in this regard, but i perceive Lego as one of those pure hobbies that is actually supposed to keep you away from screens for however long the fun lasts. But again, I can't blame Lego for trying to cater to new generation's consuming behavior to boost their business even further. Those are the times we live in nowadays. It might just be these exact times i don't tend to enjoy that much. At least when it comes to growing up, it's hard not to dwell in nostalgic nature. Because otherwise... I am in no way, shape or form in any shortage of screen time. Can't say that i regret anything about that either. Cad Bane minifigure leaks before Christmas, pretty please. -

Smart figures... By the maker, what madness has befallen us this time around? So they are looking like regular minifigs and dynamically react in an acustic manner based on input elsewhere or whatever special piece it's attached to? Sounds like another desperate attempt to put a smartphone in very young kid's hands and, of course, to make more buck by making less bang for your credits. I don't care if this sounds like "old man screaming at the clouds" kinda thing. I don't even have any children, so i don't have to deal with such matters. But I'm still neither friend nor fan of this whole thing whatsoever. Thanks, but no thanks. -

Is that a fact? Then i may need to overthink my general desire to gamble coming forward. It was you who told me about this in the first place. I could literally not believe these ludicrous long legs longings were real. And i had and still have a similar reaction as you do. While i get the general idea and the certain mileage you would get from a brand new introduced piece... Sometimes Lego can't even keep track of the already existing parts, let alone using the right pieces for the right minifigures. So in that sense, i say adding even more fuel to the fire wouldn't be the greatest idea to see the Lego light of day. You need to walk first before you can properly run. Yeah, there's always a bigger fish. I mean, it's the same with all those additional formats, steadily rotating in and out on a yearly basis. No wonder this madness ain't gonna stop anytime soon. Oh no... Get ready for the smart brick infused $30 something something Jedi Microfighter something something. And super charged $60 Super Clone Bro Battle Packs. With the inclusion of smart bricks, Lego could apply 4+ price points to every smaller Star Wars set imaginable. That's actually a scary thought, to be honest. -

These are some pretty plausible and logical suggestions. Zam Wesell remains the minifigure in most need of a modern makeover. Can't add much more ideas beyond that. Besides red eyes for Vader, a third leg for Astromech Droids and skirt pieces for every cloaked character like Palpy and his Royal Guards. However, i strongly disagree regarding Vader's need for long legs, which would look super silly. While he is a little taller than most other characters, his hight isn't exactly equivalent to Avatar... As for the Kaminoans, they are perfectly fine as they are. Better not replacing any minifigures with mini dolls. Those formats should be kept separate from each other. -

ARE WE NOT ENTERTAINED?! The dark side Obi-Wan and Darth Revan minifigures will totally happen for some new RTG sets next year, right? Don't they dare doing this to red dress queen Padme... Even if the visual resemblance is there, i want the real deal for the respected, long overdue TPM version, not some mumbo jumbo alternative appearance. Already bothered me with Darth Jar Jar, magnificent as that meme material may be. Would be a lot easier to ignore if single Episode I sets wouldn't just release every five years or so. -

Having watched Solid Brix Studio's Death Slice review by now, my initial impressions remain unchanged in the grand scheme of things. I like it a lot for what it is, but it definitely ain't worth the price of admission. But reasonable value was never something i expected for the most expensive Lego set yet in the first place. However, what i will say, though, i can actually get behind the concept of making this huge diorama. And the Lego design team's reasoning of deeming the interior scenes as more important compared to what happens on the outside. They actually packed a bunch of neat functionality into this thing. The majority of modules look pretty polished. And of course it's nice to now be able to lay your eyes on everything at once. It's just still such a shame about the amount of compromises that have been made, most notably on the underdetailed minifigures. Rather than breaking some records left and right, a quality over quantity approach would have been the better call. Though i still stand by my point, considering this tall order, there had to be a way to get both class and mass. -

Well yeah, but that was to be expected, wasn't it? It's only natural that a giant diorama representing various scenes filled with a variety of characters would look lifeless without any minifigures on display. I think, this would prove problematic for most location based sets. Since i display all my minifigures separately, it definitely is for me here and there. Sets like Boarding the Tantive IV look like a generic clinic if you exclude every minifigure. You want to go home and rethink your life. Even if it didn't add anything substantial to the thread, which of course it always does in a noble Avenger crusade kinda way, a reply such as this doesn't add anything of substance either. Okay, that's just glorious on a grand galactic scale. And you have my (energy Omeeeeeega) bow. -

I think it's actually worse than the 4+ TIE Fighter. The wings are barely bigger than the cockpit. They should have used the resources to deliver more detailed minifigs of the Death Star instead. Or ideally, have that as a default plus make an awesome GWP. The mystery reveal event is live right about now. What could it possibly be?! HAHAHA, Lego values the GWP at $35!! -

Yeah, i thought it was funny... on the inside. Though on the outside, i was visibly confused. And it's good for OT representation to finally get more Glup Shitto officers. The comments... pretty crazy over there. Lifestyle images of the UCS Death Star leaked early, if anyone wants to take a closer look. If you weren't a fan of the 75300 TIE Fighter and thought it was too chibi style... wait until you see the GWP. -

It's like poetry... it rhymes. If you wanna get trolled ultimately hard today, go watch MandR's review of the UCS Death Star. Since everything is voiced over, not sure if he just blurred out the table of content and releases the full unblurred version tomorrow upon official reveal, or if it's a extraordinary elaborate out-of-season April's fools joke and he doesn't own anything but an empty box yet. Edit: Okay, this whole thing is as fake as a three dollar bill. -

Absolutely, we are on the same page on this one. Until it sees the official Lego light of day, the absence of the Petranaki arena will never not be mind boggling to me. Ever since it appeared on screen, it just screams big play set and, like you said, highlights the lack thereof for this theme. The 2023 Yavin temple sort of reignited my hope that it might happen one day. And i think this exact format with 1000+ pieces, a dozen or so minifigs and a price tag of ~170 bucks would be extremely fitting for such a set. You've got your typcial facade for the arena and one of the main pillars. The creatures would be a hybrid of head moulds and brick-built bodies. Good results can definitely be achieved with what parts are already available. This actually reminds me to pay the wishlist thread yet another visit again. You posted some really cool PT stuff in there. -

My thoughts on this exactly. This is indeed one of the cases where some creative freedom is more important than "accuracy". It was the right call to go midi-scale with this one. Now, if Lego releases the next Mando & Grogu AT-AT in this size for double the price or so, is another matter entirely. Yes... suspiciously good. This is like the first real Lego Star Wars christmas set made available to the public. So i can imagine Lego made the deliberate decision to kick things off with an appealing price point. And if it sells well, which it probably will, we might be in for a "treat" the coming years. But people are supposed to think "oh wow it might be much more expensive this time around, but i had such a good time with the last one." Preferably, just the latter part. Or Nute Gunray screaming at the top of his lungs... "She can't do that. Jango, pick up your head and shoot her... or something!" No proper Bantha mould after over a quarter century is crazy. This. It's an open secret the prequels still has the most content left to cover and i don't know how anyone could argue otherwise. But yeah, there also seems to be some hesitation (no hate) on Lego's part to do certain sets. In terms of missing minifigures, i feel like we are getting up there. Slowly but surely. Yeah, cautiously optimistic about these things. Bringing back ancient sets after half an eternity for a modern makeover wouldn't be the worst idea in the Lego world, either. -

Where are you, Jango Fett? You're here! You're not unsuccessfully attempting to escape with your battle damaged jetpack, right before mercilessly getting decapitated by a dude with a purple lightsaber (because he asked the creator of this whole thing if he can get purple), which was even more brutal in the deleted scenes. You're here! You're right here, and you're ready to fight! Yep, that's one solid looking Jango Fett minifigure from top to bottom. Sure, the deleted arm printing is somewhat unfortunate. Looks especially basic when you compare him to many other modern Mando minifigs. But like i said before, i can get behind the idea of downgrading from expensive UCS sets to much more affordable play sets. It's the lack of maintaining a certain quality standard from your typical UCS set to an even more expensive one that i don't get at all. Anyways, love the new rangefinder piece. You can finally turn it down without this flimsy finicky thing falling down. Given a constant supply of extra parts, i can hopefully fully replace my current collection with this new piece one day. Lama Su is as incredible as expected. His impeccable head gotta be one of the most magnificent Lego Star Wars moulds i have ever seen. The printing is spot on all around. Just the lack of back skirt printing was a little surprising to me. But i guess there wasn't anything but a few lines for some folds you could have added there. Said it numerous times and i will say it again: Lego is very good when designing these alien characters. It's almost as they need some sort of challenge to succeed, but fail when it comes to paying attention to more subtle details. Speaking of failing... I don't wanna talk about the young Boba Fett fig. Always happy to finally lay my hands on some missing minifigures, especially characters based on the PT era, which still has a lot of untapped potential. But yeah, that's two more down, lots more to go! -

Somehow, Mando Man's purchasing power has returned. Yeah, as is well documented at this point, i don't mind the downscaling as long as it's source material scale is properly conveyed and intact for the final product. This obviously isn't happening in this scenario, but due to this vehicle having nothing to do with the actual canon, i don't mind this too. On the contrary, i think the more compact size works in favor of the festive design. Besides, i don't wanna see Lego charge 150+ bucks for this. -

AT-AT lifestyle images are out and the Gingerbread Darth Vader actually has some sweet looking cape printing. For 60€ this set seems to be a fair deal in the Lego Star Wars world. That's exactly what i want to see. If you only get this single minifigure, you want a better price pro piece ratio (useless as this metric may be) than you are usually getting. Like if you fall short in one aspect, you just need this counterweight in order to be still providing reasonable overall value, which is apparently the case here. Very tempted to build this for christmas. Edit: beaten by like two seconds. @CallumPears: Yeah, i appreciate some much needed accuracy as well. Not nearly on the same level as you do. I like the occasional creative freedom here and there. And sometimes cool looking characters can be enough for me. But what i don't like is doing things for the sake of it. So i won't ever blame Lego if they do a simple looking character justice. No need to do details where they don't belong. At the same time, of course, you may prefer other minifigs that are more detailed by design and also accurately executed. -

Mine remains Plo Koon. As long as i don't get the V-19, this minifigure is basically unbeatable for me. The Clone Cadet, if pretty simple by design, is an honorable mention for me. Like i don't know if you can make him look any better than what we've got. Yep, it's always exciting to finally get your hands on some personally requested, long overdue figures. Yeah, it always was and always will be a smart and somewhat obvious marketing move to combine the need for groceries with your love of your favorite fictional IP. Really like the look of the Gingerbread Vader. Brings me back to the previous style of holiday themed figures from the original Advent Calendars, which i do definitely prefer over the newer, more generic looking ugly christmas sweater ones. They will be indeed. The other half will be a gigantic waste of space, though. Lama Su will be mine soon and it will definitely be one my favorites.
