  1. Those are some good observations on your part. And i would appreciate more location based sets again. I will actually be disappointed if that doesn't happen. Because that means there won't be an actual TIE Avenger. Put every one of his postings in the instruction manual as if it was the creation of a UCS set. Also put his profile picture on the bricks breakdown. Heck, while you are at it, put this man's nickname on the front page. Lego could use some actual design anyways, so you would be killing two birds with one stone. While the chances of it happening are still ludicrously low, we now at least have a shot at this. I second this. A more steady flow of location based sets would be most welcome indeed. Since i only got four 2025 set so far, i gotta go with @Yperio_Bricks and @Darth_Bane13... It's Plo Koon's Jedi Starfighter Microfighter. While it's kinda difficult to compare this to different formats, for what it's worth, it delivers the best out of the box value.
  2. Yep, a new Hoth Echo Base is definitely overdue. I think it would work rather well in the Yavin 4 format as a larger play scale set. Even if the set left certain things to be desired from a design standpoint, it finally bridged the gap between the usual seven figures from flagship sets and 20+ minifigures for the Master Builder Series. Speaking of which, alternatively, how about you finally give the so-called "UCS" Assault on Hoth the official MBS treatment and thus, the high-quality set it rightfully deserves? No Kenner copy cat this time. No, just a well rounded, detailed and, of course, overpriced display model you can still play around with. While also be cheery about all them magnificent minifigures. That's why i used to like and appreciate the MBS series so much. It's collectable, displayable and playable all in one... on a larger scale. That's exactly what i thought about this... For a hundred bucks you at least get a substantial side build to compliment your mighty Snowspeeder!
  3. Okay, now it's clear to me. I wasn't actually aware that you discuss every sets in here regardless of year. Because i *somehow* understood your prior reminder as a friendly warning for not getting any more off-topic, so i moved my comment to the news thread. Now i know. So in any case, thanks for both letting me know and for restoring my no double posting streak in the process.
  4. Okay, now that the dust has settled, here are my uninteresting thoughts on the upcoming early 2026 sets: 75421: $69.99, 7+/75423: $99.99 7+ These two sets, rumored to be based on the empire and rebellion respectively, are really promising. Hopefully they are more than your average run of the mill remakes of popular vehicles. If neither of them is based on Andor, though that wouldn't be the final nail in the coffin, it will still be a huge missed opportunity. 75436: $9.99, 6+ While Mando's Speederbike is certainly nothing i can get excited for at this point, the possible return to very cheap affordable sets like the good old days would be a welcome surprise indeed. 75437: $29.99, 7+ Getting a most wanted minifigure you never even thought would see the Lego light of day is always a nice thing. Given that it happens to be one of my favorite characters ever, Cad Bane, in addition to another never made character, is just the cherry on top. So yeah, my definite highlight so far; extremely excited for this one. 75440: $59.99, 18+, 75441: $79.99, 18+ I can definitely see the appeal for the Starship Collection, an AT-AT as well, but it's not for me. Still have the stance that it would be a much more attractive offering with a exclusive or desirable minifigure included. The Venator in midi-scale should make for a nice companion piece to the Invisible Hand, though. 75443: $19.99, 4+ Same as above. If there are no interesting figures of note to be found, i don't care for any 4+ sets that basically became marketing gags to pick up the cash out of unaware parent's pockets. Yet another Grogu doesn't even shock me. Next year is Mando year, so they gotta go all-in on the Mando merch, i suppose. 75448: $14.99, 6+ And one more time the same principle applies... No cool fig means no buy. Although these things should be reserved to keep on providing a cheap option to get some main characters. Basing a mech on a freaking Clone Trooper that is already available in a comparably affordable set is just straight up stupid in my opinion. 75449: $19.99, 6+ It's a Battle Pack, so i will get it. A Battle Pack just shy of entering creative bankruptcy territory, but a Battle Pack nonetheless. Just not one i will be particularly eager to get. And for at least half the troops (no explanation needed) not very excited to put them on my base plate either. 75452: $89.99, 10+ Buildable droids and characters are not my thing, either. So they are the easiest passes for me. Any sequel stuff, regardless of quality and even it's sweet little saving grace, i ignore, anyways. 30727: $4.99, 6+ A polybag with a build always fails to excite me in any way, shape or form. Miss my majestic minifigures. Thanks to @Classic_Spaceman for providing the full list of set numbers, price points and age ratings.
  5. I dearly wish it would be. My thoughts exactly. Well, they already have been rotating some 18+ sub-themes in and out the last couple of years. 2024 got dioramas and no helmets, this year it's the other way around. So it wouldn't surprise me to see the helmets put on ice again. We might have reached a point when even Lego can't keep track of all these extra formats, let alone releasing all of them in a single year. Given the context, one of the better unintended puns i have seen. As well as you shouldn't.
  6. I love to see it. Can't wait to change my profile picture into the next character i want Lego to turn into an official minifigure. Not that it was my initial intention for Cad Bane, as i thought we would never get this specific version of him, but very happy it's actually gonna happen.
  7. Apparently 2.0, rather than being a direct duel between the two, Cad Bane will be included in Cobb Vanth's Speeder. So yeah, it will be yet again Lego mixing and matching some scenes. Don't care for the third figure, but i hope Bane will have arm printing for the first time. Yep, the right amount of space would be a problem for me as well. To be honest, already is. This is just the time we live in 2025.
  8. What... where is the set fit for Cad Bane; he might be included in Mando's Speeder Bike? Making two Battle Packs based on a sub-division of the 501st legion within just two and a half years is certainly a choice. Maybe Lego desperately wanted more Mandos on shelves for next year, so the 332nd had to serve as the counter faction; akin to the Ambush on Mandalore BP. Well, maybe they actually got a "special helmet" this time around. Apparently, the Speeder Bike is the $10 set and Bane Vs. Vanth Duel set is gonna retail for 30 bucks.
  9. Very good one. I always said to myself i would put Star Wars on ice if Lego was to fully bring back The Lord of the Rings theme. Yeah, it's definitely not the same, but still pretty nice nonetheless. Impressive. I thought Lego was just overhauling the ARC-170's windshield color... never saw them redoing an entire wave of sets before! Jokes aside... For what it's worth, that sounds absolutely amazing to me. Probably won't care about the Mech and the Battle Pack might be a snoozefest bordering on creative bankruptcy. But the chance of finally getting a Cad Bane minifigure for the first time right out of the box in an affordable set is a dream come true. Personally, since i was born at a certain point like any other person on this planet, the timing might be perfect as well.
  10. In my restless dreams... i see the minifigure line-up from the UCS Death Star that i will never get. Actually, can you guys get genuinely excited about sets you know you won't be buying? I know, i can. Still wanna see how a $1000 Lego Star Wars set looks like in 2025 with all it's bells and whistles. Always a good time to speculate about certain things, experience various leak phases and hear other people's thoughts on this.
  11. Who knows with Disney Star Wars and their "no one is ever really gone" mantra. But yeah, would be too soon for release. Still have some sceptism regarding the January wave being this big all of a sudden. Wouldn't mind it at all. Just need to get used to it, i guess. You kinda convinced or at least reminded me it's gonna happen. So hopefully it won't even come to this.
  12. Yeah, i mean Lego is releasing desirable minifigures left and right the past few years, but getting Skywalker Saga figs just hits different compared to Disney era Star Wars stuff. Getting obscure characters or even some glaring omissions for the former can seemingly happen anytime nowadays... you kinda expect them at this point. But for the latter, since nearly every property gets shoved to the side beyond the initial wave(s) and kinda takes a backseat to Mando, you can't be that certain... it feels less likely and not as predictable. Although we did receive the TROS Palpatine and Babu Frik after all these years. So yeah, you can't rule out anything unless Lego explicitly tells us it will never happen. Which is obviously not how they operate. All i wanna say is... Possibly getting a TBOBF Cad Bane in 2026 surprises me much more than getting a Lama Su in 2025. Look, i like talking to you. It's quite easy for me to enjoy. But now i'm gonna hold you to this. If what you told me doesn't pan out at all, i will put the blame solely on you. Not myself. Not @Renown. Not Lego. Not anybody else. Just you. Yep, that's the difference between printed robes and kamas. I like that the former further distinguishes otherwise generic looking Jedi minifigures being decades in the making. Oh, i think the best approach could or would work on both paper and in practice. But that's obviously not going to happen on Lego's behalf, so it's just back to theory, i guess. And for me understandable ones to ignore. A freaking Bust of all things... More system scale sets or bust! We are not. I think the sub-theme for this set will depend on the actual release date. If the leaks indeed just cover the January wave, it has to be based on Book of Boba Fett. Because if it's based on a scene for the new Mando movie, it would be too soon getting into spoiler territory.
  13. I still got my fair share of his hints and should know better in this regard for sure. But i'm still just at a point where i basically don't allow myself to fully believe or even expect it. Hence why i cautiously optimistic wanna bet on it. Well, here's hoping there wasn't any blue milk involved this time around. Oh baby... So you are telling me there is more than a chance? I actually thought this minifigure will never see the light of day. This would be super special to me. That's true. Both are very rare, the former probably be more expensive than the latter, yet both would be helping making it look less like gun holsters. Okay, that's an interesting take. Though i have that stance the other way around. I can't stand the printed kamas, but i don't mind the printed robes at all. Let's say you remembered the major stuff. The rest was supposed to be a Vader Bust and midi-scale Venator.
  14. This guy gets it. A man of culture and terrific taste. It would be a great way to kick off the next year indeed. Not that i would doubt the actual upgrade, but if i look at the overall quality standard of modern Lego Star Wars minifigures, i think we are still ways off getting dual molded legs more reliably. In terms of just using the printed solution, it might be helping if it was to extend to the side of the legs. Other than that... Just bring back the damn cloth kamas! But yeah, like you said, in an ideal world. Ah yes... i see. Aware of the seagulls meme, i am. Sounds like some good fun, it does. Talking no more about this, i will.
  15. Probably far before my time. You care to elaborate what happened at the "screaming Yoda takeover"? Okay, with the Rancor's friendly permission, i would like to bet a TBOBF Cad Bane minifigure is gonna release in any given 2026 set. I need someone who thinks it won't. Winner gets to choose the loser's avatar for an to be determined amount of time.
  16. Just please be true... Although he could just as easily refer to us in a "be careful what you wish for" kinda way... please be true. I. Need. This. Figure. In. My. Personal. Collection. Are avatar bets by any chance allowed or even a thing on this forum? I would gladly take on that challenge.
  17. Hmm, beforehand there was always a "Limited Edition" Lego Star Wars card and sometimes even a Booster Pack of the Trading Card game included, yet the price consistently stayed the same at five/six Euros. So not too sure this price increase, 33% no less, was caused by any more extras. Contrary to the last price increases starting from four bucks, they actually included more minifigs on a yearly basis, so i was fine with that. This one, however, seems to appear out of thin air and doesn't make any sense to me.
  18. Was zum Henker... I mean, this deal is really getting worse all the time. This makes no fun anymore. Good luck getting a discount on this one! I already got the Ahsoka from last year's Advent Calendar, so i wasn't picking up this magazine anyways, but these crazy price hikes obviously do not bode well for future ones. Like why would anybody want to get a trooper for eight bucks when you can have a Battle Pack for ~15€? It's just not worth it anymore. From what i recall, just like the figure selection may vary be region, so too can the price point for selected magazines by like a Euro or so... not sure about the UK, though.
  19. I think we both know the answer to that. We want the real deal or nothing at all. I actually think some throwaway stuff would make matters worse. It very well could be more like the final nail in the coffin, rather than a sliver of hope. And only intensify the desire for the full set, which then may not happen anymore. I never saw anyone who likes the printed waist capes. There might be some people who don't mind them per se, but actual liking? Even the most blinded fanboy would be hard pressed to pretend this, though.
  20. No problem. And don't worry... i feel your comments. It's like people are so full of clone fatigue that it clouds their judgement when it comes to even more possible sets. Yeah, the aforementioned AT-AP, which received three versions so far, is another great example. And what about the Republic Fighter Tank? It got zero seconds of screen time in the PT and has a more famous presence in the Battlefront games. It still saw three releases as well. So to say the UT-AT can't even work as a one and done deal is a real head scratcher to me. The only point i agree with is that it wouldn't be suited as one of the flagship sets. But in the price range of up to ~80 bucks? Absolutely.
  21. There were a couple of design flaws like the loose wings when you spin that thing. Or the underbelly of it being just extremely ugly, but yes... It was more famous for it's egregious pricing and less an structural desaster like the new Turbo Tank is. So the CTT hit me harder beyond the minifigures. Me too. While i was reading, listening and writing english every day regardless, this is actually my very first serious long-term attempt at a english based forum. And i feel quite comfortable to be playing my part by now. How anyone in this day and age can think a solidly executed UT-AT can't sell well because of obscurity or it's form factor is beyond me. The Clone Turbo Tank sucks megablocks but it's feared to be picked up by many fanatics because of the desirable minifigures. But the UT-AT wouldn't because it's less regocnizable? Come on, now... The "obscurity" argument is overrated. It's less about kids absolutely having to know certain vehicles and more like yet another cool looking thing with Clone Troopers at the ready for action.
  22. I mean, it's even explainable to some extent. This is the first CTT with a removable roof. So it's only logical you shouldn't try to pick it up there. But what happened to the rest of the top section? It's not like Solid Brix Studios threw this thing against a wall or something. He applied just enough pressure to pick it up and it was all falling apart in an apocalyptic manner. Still shocked about this. The unjustifiable Justifier bothered me because i initially missed out on Cad Bane... didn't really care for his ship. But the Tiny Turbo Tank bothers me more, because of both the new minifigures AND the actual set i have waited so long for. Don't know if i can come around on this one. Okay, i will keep this in mind. Not the first time you taught me a little language lesson. And for starters, i think it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world to stop advertising the plaque as literally perfect. Even though, like i mentioned, i think there are worse or more meaningful marketing blunders out there.
  23. Oh yeah, you are right. There was no 4+. Just the confusion with the RTG Snowspeeder. I got this one mixed up. Thank you. This gotta be a classic case of completely slipping through quality assurance. Nobody must have picked up the Clone Turbo Tank from the top. Otherwise they would have noticed that this thing is about as stable as a house of cards. At least that's what i "hope" has happened... Because if they were aware of it all and just didn't care in the first place, there might be more sets like this upon us. And yes, this is a sad thing to see. A set with this many shortcomings at this price point... for such a highly requested popular vehicle. How can the 2022 AT-TE be awesome and this Turbo Tank this awful? The quality gap is huge beyond belief... when it should have been close to each other. While it's still ways off, i might need to put a new birthday gift on my wishlist. Typical Lego marketing move. While i get they have to make the product look as appealing as possible in order to attract more customers, there should be a fine line between this and straight up false advertisement. Due to the renders of the minifigures, i am used to the colors not being as sharp as they show on the box. Like when they print white on black or something. Or the big ugly (>>how do you say in english?<<) in the center of printed UCS plaques. But they shouldn't highlight the printing on spots where it's not on the final figure. If you show helmet A, you better deliver helmet A, not B. This form of marketing is pushing it in my eyes. Makes the aforementioned "fine line" pretty blurry.
  24. I absolutely agree. Usually don't get too emotionally invested in criticizing of what is essentially a toy, either. But the Clone Turbo Tank hits different for me. I have waited a long time for a new one. Still regret not getting the 2016 model. Took it with a good amount of humor when this Tiny Tank finally got leaked and officially revealed. Yet another highly overpriced (and then some) set that will still be worth getting at a deep discount later on, i thought. But seeing the structural integrity being this incredibly flawed, left me speechless in some sequences... and sad. No minifigure FOMO can change this right now. As well as it shouldn't. And yep... i have said it many times here already, too... Overall, if executed reasonably, i don't mind Lego's ways of downsizing sets. On the contrary, i usually prefer the new more compact scale of some ships. The 2021 TIE Fighter you've mentioned is a great example of that. While the same year's X-Wing was very impressive for being sold at half the Euro price compared to the 2018 version (which i also quite like). But yeah, the CTT is meant to be a huge vehicle, so it just doesn't lend itself well to being downsized even further. Especially not at the disadvantages of less detailed design and shabby stability, which both should have been the typical trade-offs for being smaller scale to begin with! AND fragile! Which is an absolute no-go at this smaller scale. And to be fair, pretty unusual for Lego Star Wars quality standards these days. Like, you can think what you want about the trend of downscaling sets, most of them got more robust than ever... with or without technic handle. To see such an outlier, doesn't make any sense to me. And i'm not sure if this is for me anymore... It certainly got harder for me to justify after watching this review. Clone Turbo Tank and Jango's Slave 1... This year is tough in terms of the downsizing. Lego got too "creative" when it comes to forcing these sets into specific price points they either don't belong to (Slave 1) or aren't just nearly providing enough value (Republic "Juggernaut"). This. But unfortunately, the power of forcing desirable minifigures into another flagship set was stronger. The UT-AT would obviously never matched this price tag. Simply basing the CTT on Kashyyyk, although repetitive, would have been a better way as well. More expected standard figures would have meant no expensive helmet moulds and kept the price down. And thus, a reasonably bigger budget left for the actual build. Or how about they didn't spread themself so thin by wasting 150+ pieces on buildable wheels?! Size-wise, it could have at least matched the 2016 model and it would have been so much better. Even for this price... Seriously, so many other routes this could have gone instead. Well, being just shy of 20 cent per piece in the US, it certainly screams 4+ set. In hindsight, this is actually pretty hilarious, as the first rumors had the CTT described as being the 4+ set for $55.
  25. Yep, i see it in this very moment and can not believe it. What an absolutely abysmal display. Just can not fathom how much Lego screwed this set up and what went wrong there. While it was always gonna be extremely overpriced, i thought at least the set itself would be good for what it is. That you could buy it with a good conscious at a certain price point. But boy, does it have some structural flaws. For such a compact scale, it is just unacceptable. The downscaling is supposed to work in favor of the set's stability... not against. Downright shocking. And now i need to find my jaw again.
