  1. Maybe LEGO is going for the serious plot twist and is going to make Garmadon the green ninja. He could find his inner Spinjitzu or some crap like that and have his transformation where he truly becomes a good guy and helps the ninjas defeat Lloyd. It sounds really cheesy, but this is from the line that gave us Lloyd as the bad guy. It would also keep the four ninjas and the samurai how they are. The same kind of thing could happen to Sensei Wu instead. When Garmadon returns to his evil ways, Wu could turn into the green ninja and defeat him or something like that.
  2. Definitely get the Imperial flagship. It's a great ship, and won't be around as long as the Van and the Post Office. The other two Winter Village sets were both in the catalog I got a few days ago, so I don't think you need to worry about going away for a few years.
  3. This whole diorama is beautiful. The rat-beasts are awesome, and were instantly recognizable. The use of the geisha fan in chapter 3 for stairs is genius.
  4. It would be nice to have some new AQ sets, but it doesn't look like this or Pharaoh's Quest are coming back. Maybe we'll get something really cool in 2013.
  5. After decades of war, the heroic orcs had driven away the foul human army. This scourge had arrived in the dead of winter one night many moons ago. Valiantly fought the orcs to protect their homeland. The orc armies and the human armies would cover whole plains during their great battles. For a fortnight, the clash of spears and the whizz of arrows could be heard across the mountains. This fighting went on for over half a century. Orc children were born and killed during this war. Human children fared no better. Villages were torched to the ground and crushed by traveling armies. The landscape was devastated, with trees being reduced to burning embers and mighty rivers turned red with blood. Orc commanders died. Human commanders died. Soldiers were killed by the thousands. The orcs would not give up their homeland, and the humans would not give up their war of conquest; not with so much blood invested in it. These are the last orcs left. This is the last human. This final battle is not just for the land, but for the survival of a species. The human fights for the survival of his species, but he is doomed since no women are left to reproduce with. The orcs fight for the land that millions were born in, and millions died for. They are also doomed. Four orcs cannot defend thousands of square miles of land.
  6. I think it looks cool from the tail up. The cockpit and wheels look crudely slapped together. Maybe it could be MOCd into a proper helicopter.
  7. The forest police station helicopter has 2 blades, the Ninjago helicopter has 3 blades, the large police helicopter has 8 blades, and the Dino Attack helicopter has 6 blades, while the pathetic little helicopter in the Dino base is the only one with four blades.(I haven't seen the various Super Hero helicopters, so I don't know how many blades they have.) Where have all the 4 bladed helis gone?
  8. Very nice review. I got the toy shop for last Christmas, and my sister, who isn't a very big LEGO fan, got this set. I wonder if my other sister will find a certain post office under the tree in a couple months... Anyways, I personally like the toy shop better, but this is a very cool set. The 8x8 trans-blue plates are very cool. At the end of the holiday season, I think most of the extras from this set were "absorbed" into my collection.
  9. I find it kind of weird that the samurai is allied with the ninjas seeing as ninjas and samurai were enemies in Japan. I looked closely at the transforming feature of Cole's Tread Buggy, and it looks like you just turn it upside down and change the cockpit to the other side.
  10. Usually when I make a MOC out of just one set, I put all the pieces on the floor and just put a few pieces together for a while; just messing around. Eventually, I see something that looks cool and try to build something around it. For example, this set was going to be a tiki bar, and then a cave prison. I realized that the brown BURPS looked like legs and that the leaf pieces could be teeth, so I built a voodoo demon.
  11. Thanks! It was kind of hard to do, but I'm happy with the result. The mouth is also one of my favorite parts.
  12. I want to see a LEGO pear. A lot new animals would be good, like lions, tigers, more birds (turkey, vulture, penguin, toucan, etc.), antelopes, giraffes, turtles, raccoons, or cobras.
  13. Those are really cute and they look realistic. I think the wings look good, and look hard to make. Good job.
  14. I had a wing from Gorast get a little bent, so I put it under about 20 lbs. of books until I remembered about it again (maybe a month) and it was flat. I was at my local flea market-like place, and I saw a baggie of chrome silver building blocks. They were definitely some clone brand, I think MegaBloks. They looked like engine pieces, but I didn't look at them to closely.
  15. 185a This is something I built using just the pieces from set 4182: The Cannibal Escape. Jack Sparrow and Will Turner were about to escape from Voodoo Island, when the cannibals summoned their voodoo demon. They quickly built a wooden wall to defend themselves, and started fighting what would surely be a suicidal battle. Overall view Just the demon The demon from the back An aerial view from the back. The voodoo staff. Since this model has quite a few points of articulation, and the set didn't come with too many joints, it was a challenge to build this. I ended up using pretty much every building technique I knew (and some I made up for this) to get the demon to work. It was very fragile and hard to pose, but I still think it looks intimidating. Constructive criticism is always welcome, and enjoy.
  16. I have seen that exact same phone from Cattle Call in real life, and it is made of some clone brand, not LEGO. Also, one episode of Robot Chicken not mentioned is a courtroom made of LEGO where the defendant is a teacher accused of teaching Creationism in his class, and he says something along the lines of,"Isn't it logical to say that some higher power assembled us? (or built, or put together, I don't remember)". Everyone else in the courtroom then started booing.
  17. I am reading Macbeth for school, but also The Tommyknockers by Steven King. The Tommyknockers is a bit below some of my favorites, but still is interesting.
  18. I have the two from MMV, CM4 Geisha and CM5 Snake lady, plus a few unprinted ones.
  19. Will the tail piece be in two pieces? There is a line that is especially visible in the blue snake warrior close up pic from the tread buggy. Is that a separation or just a mold mark?
  20. I think a conquistador would be cool. I was thinking more along the lines of snowboarder, skier, skater, etc. when I said sports.
  21. That makes sense, I thought they just sold the individual polybags from damaged sets.
  22. I'm pretty sure that the day LEGO makes a cigar, it will come with the drug dealer minifig. Other than that, this series would be really cool, especially the Maori warrior, grim reaper, Fakir, torero, and Boy Scout (that last one may be a bit biased since I am one, but whatever. How would the chain gang prisoner be different than the prisoner in every police set? This also seems unlikely from the lack of sports minifigs.
  23. What is the grab-bag supply? I've heard it mentioned before, but not fully explained.
  24. Maybe I'll get one of these sets for my sister (huge Spongebob fan) for Christmas and get some parts when she gets bored.
  25. I totally agree with the melting pot. My favorite fig is the Aztec guy, while Space Marine is probably after Poseidon and bagpiper for a distant fourth place.
