  1. I fully agree with you, Clone O'Patra. I have plenty of ideas for MOCs based on the first three books using these excellent new figures. But as said, they aren't appropriate for the last few instalments. Especially when you consider that Harry Potter face fighting in the last few chapters of the Deathly Hallows... No, that doesn't work at all. Malfoy's grin works very good for his childhood character, like when he snatches Neville's stone away. Perhaps Ron's expression would work, because in the last one he looked a bit too drunk for my taste. But my comments may really change if I get my hands on these beautiful minifigs.
  2. Harry's hair should be shorter?! I hoped they would release the Clone Wars Anakin Skywalker hair in black, so it would fit the description of Harry in the Deathly Hallows. Thanks for these hi-res photos, the sets look great. I'm actually starting to like the train! The person who made the sets put the wrong head on Malfoy and Ron. Speaking of Ron, his figure is perfect. Just as Ginny's is. Actually, all the minifigures look more than awesome. If they only revamped Dumbledore...
  3. I agree so much with Clone O'Patra. They got most minifigures spot on, but some are too much influenced by the new LEGO standard for minifigure designs. Some look too happy, like Voldemort. It would be useful to have an angry face, to replicate some scenes. Dumbledore really needed a new face, oh well. Harry looks indeed like a kid, which is perfect for the first two films, but it doesn't fit at all for the last 5 parts. His mouth is a bit too close with his eyes, that's what makes him look much younger. I really hoped for an angry version of the Harry Potter head since film 4. And last, Hermoine doesn't really fit with her character I think. A redesign of the first one would be warmly welcomed. But I still think TLG did an awesome job on these sets, and I would love to get my hands on all of them!

    City 2010

I already said this is an awesome set, but I've been thinking. Once I'll get this set, I'm going to transfer the beautiful tram to a monorail. The Futuron monorail doesn't really fit in my town, but this one would work wonderful as a City monorail. I'll just put on monorail bases with the motor in the middle part (it looks like its specially designed for that )

    City 2010

That's awesome. I haven't bought any LEGO sets lately, but I'm sure I'll have to get this one on my hands. The details are wonderful, there is so many in there and it looks complete. Yes, perhaps some greenery and a real track for the tram, but it is looking very well.
  6. Great job so far! I'm getting a bit in Pokémon again and I must say: these are wonderful! I especially like the Kanto starters and Sandshrew. As for the minifigures, I think Brock is your best one. I think if LEGO would ever make a Pokémon theme (that would actually make a lot of cash, wouldn't it?) they would look very much like yours. I hope you'll do the Johto starters someday.
  7. I finally watched Spirited Away a few days ago. What a beautiful film! Everything was so perfectly drawn, the colours, animation and details were excellent. And the story was also very good. I think I'm back into anime and manga again, because of this film. Yesterday I (also finally) watched Inglorious Basterds. Fantastic film, Tarantino is still very good in his usual style but it's something completely different though. I especially liked Christoph Waltz (Hans Landa). His expressions and knowledge of language were funny and impressive.
  8. If the magnets are like bricks with a magnet in it, I will get it. But if they are only normal magnets, then I don't see the point of getting it. If I can't use it with LEGO...
  9. Hm, I was thinking about to get it for the pc just for the graphics. But I think I'll now get it for the Wii (because lately, I've been starting to like it again ), it has probably a better multiplayer option and there's an awesome collector's edition with some Hogwarts LEGO crests. A special LEGO minifigure would have been awesome, though.
  10. Nice bridge! And indeed, an impressive example of what you can do with the normal brick. This camp sounds like it was a fun way of passing your time during holidays. So it was a job? You got paid to help children play with your favorite hobby? That's just awesome! Where was this?
  11. This is great! I'm looking forward to this new theme, with all it's wonderful figures and parts. I'm not very interested in the actual theme and its sets, but I'll do my best for this Prince of Persia month. Now I'm hoping I'll get my hands soon on these sets, as I haven't seen them around yet. Great forum theme also. I hope we'll see something similar in November.
  12. I couldn't agree more. Although I've only read 7 of the manga books, it's very well described/drawn/said how good he's at being a villain. You made me again interested to pick up Monster again, and to buy the other numbers of it. And to wacht the anime, but I should be careful not to run forward on the manga. Hannibal Lecter is also a great villain, Anthony Hopkins was just perfect for that role. Lord Voldemort as described in the Harry Potter books is also a great villain, albeit not a super smart one (that makes him more human, though). Darth Vader isn't a stereotype villain to me, just someone who got mislead by his thoughts. And by the cookies.
  13. Personally, I think dreaming about a forum is a bit weird.
  14. Talking about which ones to get, I hope I'll be able to get them all. I will buy the smaller ones (Dobby's Release, Quidditch Practice and Hagrid's Hut) myself certainly, and I hope the others will get in my hands in another way. If not, then I'll buy them also. I would love to get my some multiples of a couple of sets (Burrow, Dobby's Release, hell yeah even a second Hogwarts! ), but I've never done that before and I/we are not in the financial position to do so. There's plenty of other interesting LEGO sets to get also, and yes I'm looking at the fantastic Prince of Persia parts packs/sets which can also be useful for the Harry Potter universe.
  15. Thanks for this fantastic review! What a fantastic set! This wasn't on the top 3 of my must-get Prince of Persia sets, but now it's at number 1. What a beautiful parts pack, those minifigures are awesome. If only they produced those new arches in tan. It's also a nice set on it's own, but it looks much bigger on the box. It also reminds me of the LEGO Harry Potter Forbidden Corridor set, so that's a good thing. Can't wait to get my hands on this one, although it won't stand long together.
  16. At least the kitten is saved! Pretty nice, although I'm not a big fan of studless snow.
  17. Great job so far, I can't wait to see the result! I like your brickfilms, the effects are always very impressive. I was wondering about something. I've been thinking to translate the Harry Potter books to LEGO comics (or even shortened brickfilms as yours), but is it actually allowed to do that? I would put that the story and characters are copyright of J.K. Rowling, but I don't think she would make a deal out of it. But what about Warner Bros., would they do something if they discover someone has recreated the whole series to a comic or brickfilm?
  18. There's no need to make a Kingsley head decal. Some months ago I bought the Mace Windu head to use as Kingsley Shacklebolt, but with the preliminary pictures of the LEGO Prince of Persia theme I thought of using a new one with white pupils. The particular figure goes with the Battle of Alamut set. He looks pretty good to me. Not as angry as the Mace Windu head, but he still looks strong and big. I'm not sure which one to choose. Do you guys think this new figure would fit for him? As for the twins, those new generic LEGO Star Wars faces (also used in the Battle of Alamut set - see picture above) would work well. They look like twins and you can use one that's normal (ready for some mischief) and one that's a bit angry.
  19. I think I'll call it Sand Orange. It fits well and it's also obvious comparing other sand colours with their normal counterparts.
  20. Woah, I didn't see this topic before. Thanks guys! I also think we did a great job, but I still haven't cleaned and sorted everything. And I had just finished sorting and cleaning my LEGO corner before the MOCathalon. On the positive side (well, that was the only 'negative' side of the contest) I learnt a lot of things and I have build in themes I would never had done before.
  21. I wasn't convinced when I saw the pictures of this set. But your review has convinced me: I must try to get my hands on this one! Excellent review. The castle/palace looks wonderful, but I'm not interested in Prince of Persia, the games nor the film. But it's such an awesome parts pack. The minifigures alone are great, all the new orange/dark nougat pieces and the new arches are very nice to have in your collection. Imagine all the eastern creations we'll be seeing once these are in stores.
  22. Thanks for the comparison of the newly designed pieces. I like them vary much, it's nice to have some diversity in mundane stuff like a chicken leg and a shovel.
  23. Thanks for these pictures! This one looks also very awesome. An official LEGO zombie! The face looks great, the torso and leg design is very nice.
  24. Wow, I'm impressed by the details on the wand. It's great to have it printed with white endings! It looks like a great figure and also very useful. I like the torso and the head the most. I sure hope TLG releases these bars in brown/tan/dark tan/black, ... as wands for Harry Potter and his companions.
  25. Oops, sorry CopMike! I read that this wasn't the usual quality, but better than the minifigure collection packs. So I wasn't so sure what to think about it. They do look really good and like I said I just can't wait to get my hands on these. On all of them.
