  1. I admit that I contributed to it, but I have a feeling that KimT is going to tell us to get back on track and away from all this speculation. (However, I would like to see a new RoTS Anakin with the PoP Dastan hair... ) As far as the flick-fires go, we should just get used to them because they aren't likely going anywhere anytime soon. It's cheap, albeit lazy, way to add some playability into pretty much any set. If you don't like them, its very easy to Mod them out.
  2. They just need to make that set to shut everybody up! Seriously though, that idea has been tossed around since RoTS came out. It would make a nice set and I would really like to see Lego do it at some point...
  3. Ehh. I don't know. The traffic cop and the explorer seem kinda boring to me. It's not necessarily a bad figure, but considering we get soo many police officers over the years in the City line, the traffic cop is one of the most underisirable of the entire line. I'll get one for completion, but I think its rather boring and terribly unrevolutionary compared to figures like the Spartan, Mexican and Pop Star. However, I would like to see a new City police wave with cops based on this one. Compared to other Collectible Figs, its boring- but in the City line it would be new and fresh.
  4. I can't believe nobody has commented on that. That's gross.
  5. I feel like there are too many of these skeptical threads lately. I can understand some of them (like this one brings up a good point...) but it seems to me like ones like this are pushing it. In my humble opinion, we just need to trust the company. If the licensed sets don't sell too well, they will learn from their mistakes for the future. The Lego-original sets like City, etc. seem to be better than they ever have. As long as they keep their great quality in their "in-house" themes, I don't think we have anything to worry about. The "fad" licensed sets that come and go seem to be becoming a growing trend and I think we should just get used to them or we will grow to resent the company. Just my two cents.
  6. Does anyone know when series 3 will be released? I can see them being released around Christmas time or with the January sets. Or maybe they will even wait until the spring... I would imagine we would get some pictures/info within the next month or so...
  7. That's right! Sometimes I forget about that. And thanks for answering Bonaparte! All very good reasoning!
  8. That seems like a lot to take out of "a reassuring answer. I wouldn't get your hopes up too high, or you will be disappointed...
  9. Hey everyone! I was just wondering if the idea of having a forum solely dedicated to reviews was ever contemplated. I love reading reviews, and I think having them all in one place would be useful, as opposed to digging through the theme threads to find them amongst other discussion posts. Even subforums off of the theme forums would be useful (Ex- A Town Review subforum in the Town section. I think that set reviews are an important and unique aspect to the Lego community, and separating them from discussion topics would showcase them in a new way. Thank you for reading!
  10. Is it me, or is that Dumbledore's hair dark stone? I wonder if that will be whats in the set? I think it would be nice.

    City 2010

Only if there is a way to get a set with an official mold vuvuzela .
  12. Like the extra $5 on what are $20 sized sets (Mainly Star Wars...)
  13. Very nice! The red might be a little overbearing, but other than that, its better than the original, I think!
  14. I loved the Filch we saw before. I thought the dark brown hair was perfect, and I was looking forward to getting that piece in dark brown. The grey hair looks nothing like him, and is to similar to Dumbledore. The face was perfect as well. I am disappointed.
  15. I think you're absolutely right. Hopefully Lego will take the success of the Collectible Minifigure series and build on it. Even more so in these economic times, parents are more likely to fork over a couple bucks on impulse as opposed to a $50+ set. 7235 Police Motorcycle has been a bestseller for probably nearly 5 years now. The most recent wave of "Impulse" sets have been bestsellers since their release, same goes for the Kingdoms sets under $10. As far as licensed sets go, here hasn't been a proper Star Wars set for $10 or less since the battlepacks were introduced in 2007. The 2006 V-Wing was the last cheap, reasonably priced set from SW, and I believe it sold well right through 2008. I think Lego needs to work on creating small sets that combine the appeal of figures and accessories with a decent model. While they are all nice, the "Battle Pack" style sets seen in Star Wars, Indiana Jones, and most recently Toy Story and Prince of Persia, seem to rely heavily on figures and have a weak and/or parts skimpy model. I think Lego would have tremendous success if they readjust the ratio of small to large sets released. I know it would make everyone happy, and probably be an economic success for the company.
  16. The Burrow is my most wanted set of 2010. The figures are stunning, and the model is the only one of this wave that is completely original. The little details and accessories (and pig ) just make it that much better. As far as Harry looking like a little kid, I think swapping his hair out for the new generic male hair (The tousled one used on Mutt in IJ) would make him look older, as his hair is short in the more recent movies. I'm not too excited for the traditional summer sets, but I am wicked excited for the new Harry Potter ones.
  17. Nice figures! Designs like this would be perfect additions to the Collectible Minifigures line!
  18. Simply stunning! I am in love with all of the details, especially the gold plate you used at the top and the black and white plaid rug inside! Great work!
  19. The ratings and the box office numbers are two different things. I just checked Yahoo Movies, and the movie has grossed $37,813,075 so far since May 28th. Comparable movies have made nearly triple that in their opening weekends, like The Karate Kid, which made $106,254,000 in two weeks. So, yeah, I'd say the movie bombed. I would expect the sets on clearance by the end of the summer.
  20. It seems like that mustve been a mistake. Anything larger than the usual 1x1 round studs, tiles, and slopes and Technic pins seems to be an error. I got a few extra medium sized plates in the 6211 Imperial Star Destroyer. I also had an extra bag of minifig parts in Vladeks Dark Fortress...
  21. Just check the confirmation email and shipping status.
  22. You didn't ruin anything more than the set did! I really loved this movie. I think that Toy Story will continue to be relevant for years to come, with merchandise continuing to be sold. That's what happened after Toy Story 2 was released, and hopefully happen again. Hopefully this will mean more sets. After seeing the movie, I really wish we could get all the major characters we haven't gotten, mainly the Potato Heads, Slinky, Barbie and Ken. I know it's highly unlikely considering the licensing involved. But com'on. How awesome would a Ken's Dream House set be?
  23. Probably meant hard to build with your own pieces instead of buying the set...
  24. That's what she said. I agree with you on this set. It was a great deal when I got it for $30 on clearance, but it is just very cumbersome and is just collecting dust. As much as it would pain me to, I think I might disassemble him when I *gasp* downsize my Lego display area. Clever pics! -darthperson
  25. From my experience, nothing Lego-related has helped me get any "girl parts".
