[ENTRY TOPIC] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
YellowFrog replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I converted the Cherry Blossom set into a duo of flower people, building their house from flowery materials. This is an entry for the small category. I also converted the London set into a Mortal-Engines-inspired vehicualr city, with a small secondary vehicular city as a side build. This is an entry for the medium category. -
In the forest, two flower people, one pink and one white, are building a house. They are the same species, but different colours. So far, they've only built the frame of their house and part of the roof, and added some pot plants. The white flower-person bends down to tend to the pot plants, while the pink one watches. The pots were crafted by the white flower-man, pink and white flowers in white and pink pots, as chosen by the duo. The pink flower-person has a hammer to build the house. They use the sticks found in the forest, adding flowers and leaves for detail. After building the above form the Cherry Blossom set, these parts are left over: At an RRP of $14.99 USD, this build is in the small category ($0 - $30).

You might be able to spot the transparent panels I used to make it look like its floating. To see how it's built, see here:

[Alt-Build Contest] 60346 Barn & Farm Animals - Red Island Refuge
YellowFrog replied to Clone OPatra's topic in LEGO Town
It's a good start. The more you build and the less you make self-depreciating comments, the better you get! -
My latest MOC: a forest monster, in the form of a tree. Built with random reddish-brown arches, leaf plates and fern pieces, and an eye from the staff of the DnD warlock's staff (from the CMF series). Note: I'm not sure which forum this should hbe in, but as a fantasy/imaginative build, I thought this theme was best, but feel free to let me know so I can change it if need be. If you want to see how it was built, the video is below:

Thanks, but the landscape isn't as sturdy as it looks! Thanks.

Thanks for clarifying. I look forward to seeing people's entries. -
[CONTEST] Eurobricks Alt-Build Contest 2025
YellowFrog replied to Clone OPatra's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've started a few builds, but wanted to clarify a point on judging: If a build takes elements of a model and presents them in a new way (I'm changing an architecture set into a mortal-engines-style vehicle), then will it be marked more highly, for having symbolic connections to the original; or lower, for taking inspiration from elements of the original build? -
I built a fantasy-style forest, using forestmen minifigures and some CMFs. The flying child looks like magic - and that's because it is. It's the magic of Photoshop. Some aliens from a Series 26 Space CMF are also hiding in the forest... If you want to see a more complete overview, the video is below:

[OFFICIAL] Pirate Quartermaster - Collectible Minifigure Series 27
YellowFrog replied to zinnn's topic in LEGO Pirates
In the original image, it appears to be regular legs. I think the photo of the pamphlet was slightly folded, making the legs appear shorter. I reckon the fig's not that bad: the hair is swappable, the face is unusable for me, the torso is a little cheesy but should blend in with other pirates, and the legs are alright. The skirt piece is alright too, and I'm just happy to have a fabric piece. The main thing that saves this fig is the sword. Just kidding, it's the cockatoo. As an Australian, I'm stoked to have a sulfur-crested cockatoo for Aussie outback MOCs etc.. -
Recently, I got some of the Dungeons and Dragons minifigures and made some modifications. I would've posted pictures on here, but all the photos I took of the figs are in the video.
-
Yes, that would be amazing. I'm still waiting for a kangaroo to make MOC of the outback, but wallabies, wombats, echidnas, platypuses, and Tassie devils would all make great Lego animals.

Sorry, didn't realise. Picture has been removed. Do you know the reason for this rule? -
[MOC] Gravensteen Castle of the Counts

Great build. What are the printed crafting table pieces, and what to they represent? Are we going to see a real-life build of this (it would be quite the undertaking)? -

What are your thoughts on the leaked 2025 modular, which appears to be a bit medieval with its tudor architecture? -
Nice build. It seems to resemble the Monster fighter's haunted house and also the more recent one, so I don't know if Lego Ideas would approve it, but it's a great MOC anyway.

See my review and Japanerse MOC for the Cheery Blossoms 40725 set below:

Great ship. Even if it doesn't make it (but I'm sure it will), putting the instructions on rebrickable will mean that plenty of people can build it.

I'm not sure, I uploaded them to Bricksafe straight from my camera, and then linked them into here. Loads quickly for me, but I'll keep it in mind for future posts.

Recently, I built a coastal viking outpost. To see how I built it, see here:

Voted. Lots of tough competition though!

[MOC] Adventurers' Layout
YellowFrog replied to YellowFrog's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks, I've replied in the panther topic. Since this video, I've decided to get rid of the jungle-desert connection and I'm working on a better solution... how does a cliff face sound, with an elevated desert? -
[MOC] Jungle Tree with Panther
YellowFrog replied to YellowFrog's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Thanks for the feedback. I was thinking about adding some more trees in the future, and this might make it seem less out-of-place if it looks too large. Yes, the tree is certainly flimsy at the top, but as long as it looks good, it's good enough for me! -
It loads quickly for me, so I think I'll leave it for this one, but I'll keep this in mind for future posts.

I'm not sure for now, you'll have to wait and see. *suspenseful music*
