LEGO Star Wars 2024 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

I mean, maybe… but probably not. It seems to be that the leakers got a list of WIP set names this year when it comes to LEGO Marvel and LEGO Star Wars. Why else would Miles V. Spot say Spider-Verse? Why would Ahsoka’s ship come to mind first when seeing a red Interceptor over Obi-Wan’s ship? It’s too specific to not be true, in my view. Besides, we still have and will have an Obi-Wan’s starfighter (which will still be $30 USD next year compared to $45 USD for Ahsoka’s!). LEGO Group will do what LEGO Group does, but two starfighters belonging to Obi-Wan on shelves at the same time? I just don’t see it. -

This dude made my dream list, so I’ll just jump off of his list instead of coming up with my own. :P A Doc Ock Construction Figure is a match made in heaven, such that it’d be the first and only buildable figure I’ll buy. (Doc Ock is one of my favorite Marvel villains, so that’s a plus.) I’d like to see a Sentinel Construction Fig as well, with figures of Gambit, Magneto, and Leech. 😉 I could go either way on Ultron vs Black Panther. I think LEGO might be discouraged from Black Panther because of the $300 bust that flopped (not because of BP, obviously), and I think an Ultron Prime would look cooler. I’d prefer a giantfig for Galactus, so that he fits better with other minifigs. I’d like to remind everyone that a Captain Wilson Construction Figure is coming in Dec, if memory serves me right. -

LEGO Nostalgia eating a Commander Bly, THELEGOBATMAN changing his pic to Supes… Some men just want to watch the world burn. Like me! Well, in the spirit of changing profile pics, whenever I get the Superman mech, I’ll change my profile to Lex with a classic smiley… if we don’t have word on Superman (2025) sets.. Nah man, I’m just dumping my existential pondering onto a LEGO forum. Superman in a mech raises a few essential questions about our existence and the logic thereof. Hmm… How about Tiger Tuxedo Batman? Y’know, if we’re gonna bring up stuff from the early 1800s, y’all also burned down our O.G. White House. Kinda a jerk move there, man. -

I forgot I didn’t reply to this, sorry. Agreed. Hmm… I do need a Two-Face and TDK Joker, so I’ll probably have to eventually buy it, but for no more than $45. -

Are friends even real? and if they are, is the way even real? Is this the way? What if friends are just figments of our conscious, made up as much as we made friends with them? *gasp* What if the Superman mech isn’t even real? -

Brother, does LEGO even exist? Does Eurobricks even exist? Does DC, Batman, or Warner Bros even exist? Does anything actually and truly exist? Cogito, ergo sum. -

I get what you mean, but I feel in love with those characters because of the Spider-Verse movies, not because of comics. Although I do give respect to the comic look, I’d rather get the designs from Spider-Verse. I get wanting Sony’s bad Marvel movies to fail—I do too. But the Spider-Verse films have been great—nay, unbelievable, super cool, outrageous, amazing, phenomenal, fantastic, and so incredible—and I want those films to get representation in LEGO. If Sony allows people to make one film, even a trilogy of films, that is/are actually good, why shouldn’t they make money? I just want LEGO to not hide behind the whole, “Well acxtually, it’s comic based, acxtually,” and do something brand-wise with one of the most popular and best films of the last few years. At the very least, we’d get some cool box art out of it. -

Oh, an even bigger relief. Basically, I can skip this set because I still need to save up for the Tower. So since when has Scarlet Witch become an integral, iconic part of Marvel over Spider-Man or the X-Men? Bah humbug, I say! -

Whew. That’s a relief to see they’ll all be reused. Hopefully this’ll remain try for the Star Wars logo, although the LSW group do like their exclusive collectibles. For Marvel, I can see Spidey, comic Iron Man, a new comic Captain America, Hulk, Wolverine, and either Professor X, Cyclops, or an exclusive Deadpool to annoy everybody. -

Hi there, hello. I’m only here because of a mech for a character who doesn’t need a mech. My take on LEGO DC this January: First of all, it’s NOT LEGO Batman, so that’s a plus. It’s not that I don’t like Batman, but after getting one Batmobile (Tumbler), one Batwing (‘89), and one Batcave (The Batman) with three variants of Batman, what more do I need from the theme? Unless there’s Two-Face, I need him. 4+ Batmobile - A 4+ set that’s decently priced? My lord, is that legal? I’m uninterested in any 4+ set out of the gate, but who knows what characters it could include. Definitely Batman, likely his comic variant they’ve been using recently, and probably one villain I imagine. Perhaps the set is based off BtAS, so that it’ll include Batman (with the fabric cape from the Skyline?) and Harley Quinn OR someone new, like, oh I don’t know, Two-Face? Superman Mech - Only reason why I’m here. I hope it’s a Lex Luthor Mech vs Superman instead, but if it is a Superman mech we’ll get a cool tile print out of it (and a regular blue mech piece, something I’ve wanted to see for a long time). My hope is that Superman has new dual-moulded printed legs to get his comic accurate trunks and boots, so that they can be reused in Superman movie sets. Lex will be a nice inclusion regardless of what they do with him—aside from a standard business suit, of course. I’ll wait to see on how this pans out and if we’ll get rumors of Superman movie sets later on in June-August; for if so, I’ll save my money towards those sets. $60 Tumbler - “Oh, you wouldn’t be interested in that.” This time, Lucius, you’re probably right. What on earth is happening with this Batminflation! $60 is not, I repeat, NOT okay for a Tumbler. I love the Tumbler; I bought the 2021 version and absolutely that set. I won’t buy this new one, and nobody else should either unless this hits 30% off. Minifigs are a, hm, wild joker in the deck. If its name includes “The Dark Knight,” then it must include TDK Batman and Joker, right? Let’s try and be hopeful here, and say they include two more minifigs—all with decent printing torso and leg printing—such as Commissioner Gordon and Two-Face? Two-Face seems like a likely choice to market this set, but let’s not forget that the UCS Tumbler had two great minifigs that many collectors would love to own, so who knows. -

Oh. Well, this is awkward. Maybe I should climb into the Asylume for a bit to get my head straight, lol. (I was only thinking that, if it were an ARC-170, that maybe, just maybe, it had a grain of truth in it?) -

The Courscant Guardship would like a word. I agree with what you’re saying, but LEGO just doesn’t seem to care about any pilots other than TIE or Rebel Pilots. Personally, I’d like to see Plo Koon and maybe even Wolffe in this ARC-170, but Bly would have appeal regardless of what kind of set he’s in. Clone Bros will complain that it’s not an AT-OT, but they’ll still buy 3 copies Day 1 for a 327th army–and LEGO knows that. -

If they give the Miles Vs Spot set the Spider-Verse branding, then I will absolutely buy Day 1, regardless of how much they will rip me off. (Not a question of if, but how.) If they don’t, I’ll be glad to have an official Spot. That said, I wish we got the Prowler first. Hopefully, maybe soon? Can we also get Miles’ ItSV suit with the graffiti logo as well, since I’m not a fan of bleeding armpits? Now if that set includes Spider-Punk or Spider-Man India, I’ll die an overjoyed man. LEGO seems to have figured out that they can just smush a second villain figure into a set for the third (and fourth!) mech belonging to a recognizable hero and get more sales that way. Kids get their favorite hero and a cool villain to fight, and we get a long-desired character. Simply put, it’s genius, and I applaud LEGO for doing this—barring these rumors turn out completely true. My hope is that Ultron is comic-based (but not simplified) and Spider-Man is the symbiote suit (and, to differentiate from the Venom and War Machine mechs, have Spidey’s mech be half-venomized, still retaining some bits of red and blue). Venom’s Venomized Car—🤣 sorry, I can’t—may sound boring. It probably will be—UNLESS, hear me out, we get Agent Venom as well. He showed on a Brickheadz box, so he’s basically confirmed, right? *turns off sarcasm mode* Seriously though, Agent Venom could work, so long as he isn’t reserved to a D2C modular or something like that. (I fully expect a Venomized Daily Bugle with the high concentration of Venom lately.) Just to get y’all’s take, what would you think if Stan Lee was included in the buildable logo? To me, if people would think including him in the Bugle or the Avengers Tower would be grifting, I would hate to see their reaction to putting Stan the Man in a set not many would want otherwise. Winter wave sounds very promising, if a little odd in a few places. I can only hope they don’t mess up the Airport Battle or the Miles vs Spot set. Feige has a lot of faith in the Fantastic Four film, so much so that instead of saying D&W or the next MCU film is his most anticipated film, he said that he’s looking forward to Fantastic Four. This is a dream project of his, and I believe that optimism and faith will trickle down to toys and merch. I believe we’ll see at least three sets, similar to GotG Vol 3. Call me blindly optimistic, but that’s my take. -

What purpose would these logos serve? The Star Wars logo is already on every 18+ set. I’m guessing it would be in the vein/scale of the LEGO Shadow-Bat-Box, which would mean it’d be over $150 easily. Would it be to display minifigs, that will be caked in dust as a result? Would it be to just sit there as a dust magnet? Would it be a storage solution? A waste of a slot if so, in my opinion. I’m sorry, but you seem to have forgotten a true icon of Legends, this being our beloved Mara Jade. (I appreciate the tip of the hat to Jania Solo.) Fan favorite minifigs locked behind a high price point…. I don’t know if that would go over very well—especially if one of them’s a clone trooper. -

First 6 episodes aren’t the best, Aldhani especially, and I too forced myself to watch them only because it was Star Wars. It was in Episode 7 that the show really picked up for me. It was at that point that multiple threads began to pick up traction and I felt that things were happening and moving. Then that tenth episode… need I say more? I wish Andor wasn’t as brooding and dark as he was, but I blame Rogue One for that one. Still, Diego Luna puts a lot of passion into Cassian when it counts (“Is that all you’ve got?” “I’d rather die fighting than giving them what they want.”). Andor’s arc is going from someone who’ll fight for only himself and run away when he’s in danger to someone who’ll run toward danger and fight for a friend, which only happened because of his experiences on Narkina and Aldhani. I’d hold your breath on Mon Mothma until Season 2. Still, I don’t think she’ll tie into Andor as much as she’ll tie into the Rebellion (the fact that the Andor crest is similar to the Rebel Phoenix might clue in that the two aren’t completely unrelated). Likewise, I believe Cassian’s sister will come into play; the gun in the first act must be fired in the third act, while we’ve seen only the first half, so there’s still plenty of room to resolve. The whole show is a slow build up to a payoff, albeit some better than others. As for the Sail Barge (apparently we discuss LEGO too, lol) I predict mid-August to September. I’m not used to a large UCS set releasing in October and not on Black Friday. When did the Venator leak last year, if anyone remembers? -

That gave me a good laugh, thanks. The Narkina 5 arc is one of my favorite pieces of live-action Star Wars. The fact that you cared about the fates of hundreds of people over the course of three episodes—nay, over the course of a quick sequence of events… No words can put it well. (I cannot wait for that writer’s episodes in Andor S2.) The LEGO Jedi Starfighter is the new LEGO Batmobile… which explains nothing. Cyril was always eating cereal in each scene, implying that he was chewing on himself while his mother was chewing him out. Something (dumb) to think about. -

Dark bluish grey doesn’t look that bad after all. I still like black over grey. Ship’s interior is indeed cramped like I feared. I do like the function of turning all of the engines at once: nice touch. Detailing/greebling is good. Looks to be at a decent size and price. Minifigs are boring, but not everybody can be a Mando, a Clone, a Jedi or a Sith. To utter Book of Boba and Andor in the same breath is heresy of the highest order (and I’m someone who likes Andor averagely). Still, I agree with the sentiment. Just swap out Andor with Obi-Wan, lol. I personally have faith in Jon Watts and Co. to pull off something really special, albeit probably not life-changing or redefining, but something quaint and heartfelt like the Tom Holland Spider-Man films. We’ll have to wait and see. I do agree on Jedi Bob’s Starfighter being a shelf-warmer. In fact, I see that being the case for all of these RTG sets. The TIE-Wing lacks any notable figures, the Dark Falcon is too expensive as well as too out there, and the Jedi Bob’s Starfighter only has its titular character as its only selling point. -
I was gifted the Cap’n Rex Microfighter recently. Build is nice, but I wish we got a playscale version instead, but this way we get what we really want. The Rex minifig rocks, plain and simple; adding a few custom parts to it, though, makes it all the better looking. I also visited the LEGO Store, and, while I didn’t pick up any sets, managed to acquire a couple of X-Wing Luke keychains to upgrade my current minifig. Lastly, I found out that Target had the Cody helmet for $39. I started the year with no plans to buy him, but that discount was too good not to pass up. He looks good built up, and I’m glad I didn’t spend too much money on him.

A large January 1st wave? Let’s go! It makes more sense to me to release sets this way. Kids want to spend all of their money after Christmas, so why not entice them with a large selection of easily accessible sets, along with a couple big ones ($50-$100) they can ask for their birthday. Oh wait, the cheapest is a 4+ set, while the second-cheapest is $45… I don’t remember getting more than $50 at my birthday or Christmas very often. So why are most of the sets going to be inaccessible to a lot of kids? (We all know the reason, but, y’know, rhetorically-speaking, why?) I don’t need a Bo-Katan helmet… I don’t want another Mandalorian helmet. Why couldn’t we get Kylo Ren or a First Order stormie before another Mandalorian? (Not a sequel fanboy, FYI.) Why Bo-Katan before the Armorer, Sabine, or even Jango? I do like having one-off helmets occasionally, though. It seems better to release just one if needed as opposed to releasing two or three all at once. The options become stronger, while the opportunity for more helmets in the future remains open. I just wish it wasn’t Bo-Katan this year. I’d be interested in that if LEGO included all six bounty hunters plus Vader and Admiral Piett. I personally am hoping for a Carbon-Freezing Chamber as well. (Just give us Bespin Lando, you cowards.) -

I’m glad to hear a more concrete rumor. Sounds like a perfect set in the making, so I’ll lower my expectations, lol. But it’ll be a guaranteed purchase anyway they strike it. In the worst case scenario, we still get a new Mark 46 and Bucky. -

I personally wouldn’t mind if that were the case. If a scale had to be established, I like the new smaller scale of buildable characters as opposed to being in scale to 2012 Artoo. Let go of your preconceptions about what characters can be included in what. Were the Senate and Padme ever seen together near a Coruscant Guardship in those outfits? Was Thrawn there at Ahsoka’s duel with Morgan? You must unlearn what you have learned. It is wishful thinking to expect a ToJ Ahsoka and Anakin over a CW S5 pair, yes, but it’s not outside the realm of possibility. The CW Armored Anakin look is a fan favorite, so it’d make dollars and sense to include it somewhere. -

I missed out on buildable Grogu last time, hopefully they don’t mess up his cute face this time around. Acclamator makes sense. I never saw the logic behind having a UCS Venator alongside a Midi Venator, but an Acclamator is a fair compromise. It’s niche enough to never warrant a large playset or UCS set, but popular enough that LEGO sees value in making it. I love both ships releasing in midi-scale next year, hopefully they turn out great. -

Ackbar Trooper looks lame. I mean, literally anything more unique would’ve helped sell the set. I don’t see an alternate expression for Jedi Bob, though I still hope for a smiley face. Servo is GNK, GNK is power, but in this case it feels like a cheap way to inflate piece count. (Speaking of which, the box states 305 pieces as opposed to the rumored 310.) There appears to be room for storage, for which you’re provided blue milk and a banana. 🤣 I still like the starfighter, but I won’t pay more than $30 for it. Bob is Bob is Bob, yes, but overpriced is overpriced is outrageous and unfair. I see people asking for two hundred and twelve minifigs in a $20 set. People can be unreasonable sometimes. -

I always love the smell of fresh rumors early in the morning (evening, but whatever)! The excitement, the energy. It’s feeling good right now. Ashoka’s Interceptor - a surprise to be sure, but a welcome one. A figure of R7 seems all but confirmed, and I’ll be very happy to have him. I would love a ToJ or CW S5 Ahsoka, hopefully using midi-legs at long last… I expect her to reuse her live-action headpiece, which—while not perfect—is closer than the Shaak Ti headpiece. I hope, in addition, for a CW armor Anakin, Dooku or Grievous, and maybe, just maybe, either Jesse, Kix, or Appo. That said, I expect just a P2 Captain Rex—hard to believe we’d see a day after 2013 where some (me) would be annoyed to see Rex in multiple sets. $45 is a lot for what it sounds like, overpriced even, so definitely a pickup on 50% discount. A disappointment to be sure, but an expected one. ARC-170 - *insert GIF of “Yeeesss” from Napoleon Dynamite* Glad to see it making its return after so long. Sounds to be smaller than what it should be, but no complaints here. I’m happy to have a Republic starfighter soon. Perhaps the rumors about Bly and the 327th in an ARC-170 will come true this time? Kinda hope it’s based on the battle of Courscant, though, as I that scene offering more potential for minifigs that interest me. Midi-Scale Home One - definitely needed after so long. I wish it was a big playset to counter the ISD from this year, but I won’t complain about more midi-scale. Still, the lack of figures in the collection and the 18+ tax hurts, but I can’t wait to see images. 4+ N-1 - I don’t buy 4+ (I’m not 4 years old—yes, I know, it’s rather shocking) so I don’t care about it. I expect one exclusive figure to get adults buy toddler toys (yeah I said it); it’d probably be Axe Woves or the Armorer if I had to guess. Predictions/“Reasonable Speculation” - $100 set, if not Andor or Acolyte based, perhaps it could be another duel starfighters set? Like say a Y-Wing vs Vader’s TIE? That being said, for my ears’ sakes alone, I hope we get a lot of RotS sets. $50 midi set might be the Home One for all we know, so let’s not get too set on it being $70. That said, I don’t know what ship would fit best for either price, but perhaps the other midi ship could be a Nubian Royal Starship or—hear me out—a First Order Dreadnought (from TLJ; this is probably my most wanted midi-scale ship besides Home One). Just saw this as I was about to post. I wish more than Jedi Bob leaked… is there some gentlemen’s agreement to let certain accounts leak stuff before anyone else of which I’m unaware? Anyway, that starfighter does look huge, probably longer than Obi-Wan’s, which maybe will make that $40 feel better…? As for the Cylinder, I thought it was black, so knowing it’s really grey makes it look less appealing to me. That one kid’s oversized black hairpiece looks charming. The figures look generic, which is a fault of the show and not the LEGO set. Glad that we’re getting something from Skeleton Crew, though.
