  1. As for the perceived controversy with LEGO covering Sam’s face… I’ll also point out that this film will feature a conflict between America and Japan, as seen in the trailers. Yes, this film is 100% being tailored to the China government’s likening. All of that said, would you rather the buildable figure have an uncanny-valley-looking face, or a helmeted look which LEGO has executed well the past? Also, have to point out that Red Hulk is missing Harrison’s signature mole/dimple/whatever on the side of his chin. (Yes, I went through and compared LEGO Old Man Han to Red Hulk.)
  2. Alternatively, just forget the Rule of Two, and a) enlist twenty different former Jedi (MUST BE FORMER JEDI) to be canon-fodder-er, Inquisitiors, equipping them with spiny lightsabers; b) turn a blind eye to your apprentice training his own apprentice, then have your apprentice kill that apprentice or, in a dark side ending, have that apprentice of your apprentice kill your apprentice; APPRENCEPTION! c) train an assassin loyal to you alone, give her a purple lightsaber so she’s technically not a Sith, and just run with it until you die (and when you do, give her one last command on which she will follow through on a technicality alone); d) raise an army of Sith warriors, war against the Jedi Order, and watch as that army slowly turns on itself; then, when someone invites all the remaining Sith into a single room, don’t go; maybe keep an eye out for thought-bombs; e) train an assassin who’s basically your apprentice but technically he’s not, and either fire on her starfighter or let him get chopped in half; f) find your brother (preferably your augmented-by-magick-with-a-K-and-NOT-THE-POWER-OF-ONE-THE-POWER-OF-TWO-OR-THE-POWER-OF-MANY brother); g) clone yourself (requires you to be a prune-face); h) find a couple potential apprentices, write all of them down checklist style, give it to your other apprentice, die, and see your first apprentice kill them off in a montage so epic that Disney+ will never touch it; z) We shall never speak of this.
  3. Respectfully, I disagree. (Sorry if the following comes off too harsh.) For the sole fact that each unique variant of an MCU design was created lovingly by Marvel fans like yourself, each suit the character wears deserves a proper minifig replication. If one movie was chosen, and all the Avenger minifigs had to be based off that one film, despite the movie, then I think many would be frustrated that we can’t get some of our favourite Iron Man or Captain America suits. More detailed minifigs is optimal, but that ought not to come at the expense of the variety of suits available. By the way, the reason that Wolverine having only one variant currently based of X-Men ‘97 is because it’s one of the few iconic suits on screen. Black leather is too boring, although it’d make for an interesting book minifig. If one movie was chosen, and all the Avengers sets had to be based off that one film, then that really limits the heroes and villains, right? That’d be almost worse, since those films are, while still popular and beloved, not as culturally relevant generally-speaking, so the allure would wear off quick. That’s why they have a couple one-off sets for 2012, then a series based off 2019, and then a few from 2015. I prefer this approach, personally-speaking. Sorry to say it, but the movies are more popular than the comics. Maybe I’m biased toward what gave me a love for Marvel, but the Infinity Saga is still beloved by many fans of LEGO. More casual customers know Iron Man better than Cyclops—maybe even better than Wolverine. Unless the comics become relevant again*, expect more repeats of the Avengers. *While the correct answer is, “Unless the movies begin to incorporate more characters from the comics, thus making them relevant again,” there are also a few (perhaps not you specifically) in this thread who would become uninterested in the FF V Galactus set if it were movie-based. The desire isn’t, “More Marvel characters,” it is instead, “More comic-characters from Marvel.” A valid desire, no doubt about it, and one in which I partially share, but we need to be honest about it then.
  4. So, got a question… Will the Brickest Night happen before or after the U.S. election? Need to know if I should start stockpiling Luigi’s pizza again or if I shouldn’t worry and just eat the ones I bought four years ago. Another question: Is every one here united in buying the Supes Mech Day 1? I personally am gonna do my dead level best, even though we kinda sorta got confirmation of a least one set from Superman (2025).
  5. Thoughts on the non-Spider-Verse sets: Venom’s car looks like the designer sneaked in the Punisher’s car but gave it a red windshield, and I respect that. Iron Man’s car doesn’t look too bad, and Red Hulk looks hilarious. Still, both are an easy pass for me. Thoughts on the Spider-Verse set: I mean, this can’t be real, right? Miles, Gwen, Spot, even Jefferson Davis! LETS GO! Miles and Gwen could’ve used leg printing; that is the anthem of this theme, though. The build looks like an alright display piece. $50, as is the current rumor, will a hard pill to swallow on January 1st, but it doesn’t look too overpriced, right? Maybe my brain’s trying to trick itself to justify the price, lol.
  6. Anecdotally speaking, I remember seeing sets like the Resistance A-Wing and TIE Dorito still in stock on Amazon US well after their respective retirements. I sorta regret not getting them, but it’s not a hard loss for me. Honestly, none of the sets from TROS appeal to me much, besides Kylo’s shuttle or the aforementioned sets I skipped. I think poor sales could be attributed just as much to weak set choice as apathy for the film itself. TROS Palps is an ugly, beautiful sight to behold. Definitely going to pick up this book sometime in the future. That said, like the rest of y’all, I mourn the loss of an Exegol playset, something that would’ve peeked my interest just as much as this Palps figure by itself.
  7. Okay, I guess I should go sane for a moment or three… Looks like Superman’s mech is coming and looks excellent! To have that mech armour piece in blue has been an odd desire of mine for years now, so that alone makes me happy. The Lex minifig looks unbelievably amazing. Superman needed boots, but I love the new head print being used for him. TDK Tumbler… exists. It looks strangely taller than the 2021 model, but sports more film-accurate tires on the front. It also doesn’t have the stud shooters anymore, if anyone cared. Hopefully the Bat-Pod can eject out, but I expect a more displayed-orientated model instead. As for the minifigs, I’m excited to see a new Two-Face, although the simplicity of the face plus the bald spot on the top of the minifig head doesn’t do him any favours. Joker looks pretty plain without the leg print, but it’s surreal to think we’re going to get a Heath Ledger Joker in a set under $100. I won’t buy at full price, though, and even then I only want it for the minifigs. I need more details on Arkham. At the moment, everything seems fuzzy… like this information has slammed my head into a table or something like that. Whew. It’s hard to be sane, but I did it. Where’s my reward, commissioner? (I feel like that’s a Jonkler line, but I don’t know why.)
  8. I truly believe that this is that case. Makes the most sense to make a set based off what will be Marvel’s most hyped-up movie in 2025 over a generic comic-based set. (I say hyped-up, opposed to hyped, because Marvel Studios will be hyping up this movie even if general audiences may not be entirely excited for it.) I will likely buy this set Day 1, because it’s the FF. However, there’s something about buying a set being based off a new movie that gives one a sense of excitement for the film unlike any other. Judging off the glimpse of the film model Fantasticar at SDCC, I’d expect a $40 set, not $60. Ironic to the discussion, but I could see a comic-based Fantasicar at $60 better than a movie-based one.
  9. Don’t forget my brother in arms, @ARC2149Nova: a comrade so good at the covert-thingy that I didn’t even notice when he revealed himself. (Totally didn’t just go over my head, nope.) Actually, can we just switch to this lore? All we’re missing is Voldermolt. (It’s spelled wrong and I don’t care.)
  10. The last update I got from the Eurobricks email list before the site went down was Brickbob in the Marvel forum… Is Brickbob Studpants a Sith Lord?
  11. I meant that. I was suggesting they reuse the head and hair from the Interceptor for the Ewok Village. Force Ghosts aren’t fully transparent blue, only a blue hue around semi-transparent human actors. Using opaque pieces isn’t a disservice at all to the source material.
  12. Tin-foil hat time! I brewed this up late last night. In the Dark Falcon for Jedi Vader, we got a human-looking Sebastian Shaw head, a very random but neat inclusion on its own. We also have rumors of a new Anakin minifig, presumably the first in a long time to have a head print without a headset or Sith eyes, a welcome addition on its own. Now, what do those two, Hayden and Sebastian, have to do with each other? Both portrayed the Force ghost of Anakin at the end of Return of the Jedi. Where do we see the Force ghost of Anakin (Hayden/Sebastian), along with those of Ben and Yoda? The Ewok Village, which is heavily speculated to be the D2C next fall. I know it’s all a bit of a stretch—okay, maybe pretty big of a stretch. Nonetheless, I predict we will get our first Force ghosts in LEGO Star Wars next year. My personal theory leans toward trans-medium blue arms and legs with opaque torsos, heads, and hairs; and that both the Anakin and the Sebastian head/hair combo will be included for fans to swap to his or her preference. Is it clear that I’ve been in the DC Aslume for too long?
  13. I believe that there’s a Turtle in all of us, that keeps us insane, gives us random links, makes us paranoid, and finally allows us to die with laughter, even though sometimes we have to be steady, and give up the thing we want the most. Even our dreams… of the Tower of Fate with Guy Gardener, Demo Dummy, Mara Jade, and a couple others of whom I can’t think at the moment. Okay, now you’ve triggered me. Name me those 5 other films with better scores than Oppenheimer, and I will personally listen through and give a review of each on this forum.
  14. Blacktron III, 2025, Wave 1 Colour scheme: black, few yellow accents, trans-yellow, trans-red Minutemen (aka Grunts) Uniform: Classic Blacktron I minifig with some minor details of wear and tear, some smaller aspects on classic torso represented in DBG to give suit better visual clarity, as if it needed it anyway. Nonetheless, Blacktron must remain diligent against alien natives and pesky spies… Blacktron Rover Polybag Price: $4.50 Build: small open-air speeder, around 30ish pieces Minifig: Blacktron Minuteman Blacktron Scout Mech Price: $12 Build: Blacktron version of the 2024 mining mech, although with some obvious key differences Minifig: Blacktron Minuteman Blacktron Minuteman Battlepack Price: $18 Build: 2x single-transport artillery platforms (with backrests, rest assured!) and one low-hovering 2-four seater speeder with ports for each STAP to rest Minifigs: 4x Blacktron Minutemen Blacktron Advanced Reconnaissance Craft Price: $21 Build: small dagger-like ship with narrow wings which can swivel, similar to the U-Wing, with a deployable radar dish, similar to the E-3 Sentry, that can pop out of the seamless smooth surface of the ship; also includes side builds fit for any mechanical work Minifigs: 2x Blacktron Minutemen Blacktron: Attack of the Beetlezoids Price: $30 Build: small Blacktron open-roof crawler, including ambush feature to topple out supplies and equipment; then two Beetlezoids hover-chariots with the large rubber-tipped canons; small bit of purple terrain Minifigs: Blacktron Minuteman, 2x Beetlezoid Defenders (for as we all know, there can’t be any commanding officers in a $30 vehicle set belonging to his/her opponents) Blacktron Renegade: Spyrius Surprise Price: $60 Build: upscaled and updated Renegade, clearly repurposed tech shown with greebling and worn Blacktron logo; side-build features small Spyrius ship Minifigs: Blacktron, Blacktron Admiral, Spyrius Operative Blacktron Command Outpost Price: $81 Build: a large base comprised of four 8x8 towers anchored in sub-sections of purple earth, each connected by transparent tunnels; one of the towers is two stories, topped with a large circular radar dish; the four rooms are as follows: a lunch room, a bedroom with crib, a research room/laboratory, a surveillance room, on top of which is a office for the commanding officer; side builds include a Blacktron Robo-dog, and two Beetlezoid hover-chariots Minifigs: Blacktron Admiral, 3x Blacktron, Blacktron Baby, 2x Beetlezoids Blacktron Command Ship Price: $180 Build: large helicarrier-type ship: removable panels conceal Star-Destroyer-like observation deck with room for multiple people to stand in center aisle and work beneath as well, also features prison cell for wayward pesks (or renegade Blacktron—pfft, as if!) and recreation room for playing pool; features collapsible handle for play Minifigs: Blacktron Fleet Admiral, 5x Blacktron, jailed Spyrius Robot Oh wait, you meant specifically DC sets. In that case then, I just want anything with an updated BTAS-inspired Two-Face, and maybe a new Gorilla Grodd.
  15. To your first question, I included a prologue that was intended to release before the opening crawl in some former fanfics of mine. Since writing them, though, I’ve come to the realization that the opening crawl is, in truth, supposed to be the prologue to the story. Think back to the opening crawl to Empire Strikes Back. An adequate prologue, if the story was told in prose, could be made of Darth Vader ordering the launch of probe droids. However, the opening crawl was opted for instead. While visually uninteresting comparably, the crawl can cover more backstory in one “scene” and thus avoid unnecessary exposition in the first scenes. To continue using Ep. V as an example, we don’t need Vader to explain the importance of Luke Skywalker’s capture, nor do we need Han to outright tell the audience that Luke is now a commander in the Rebellion, since both are explained in the opening crawl. If you think your idea is better, then go for it, by all means. After all, it’s YOUR story. That said, if you’re trying to emulate George’s style into your Star Wars story, then consider the above. To your second question, I might find it out of character for Ahsoka, personally speaking. I think Mando and Book of Boba have been rightly considerate of Ahsoka’s hesitation a Jedi Order of any kind. Although she isn’t opposed to Luke or the Jedi, I doubt she’d become an official member of a new order. She would instead assume the role of a ronin, as she has in the official Disney canon. I argue she’d still act independently of a Jedi order even if she had a cathartic moment with Anakin’s Force ghost. Just my two cents, though. I always thought Mara Jade used a purple lightsaber, not too dissimilar to Mace Windu. I’m only familiar with Mara within the Legends Thrawn trilogy, though, in which she used anything but a purple lightsaber, lol.
  16. I know the discussion has moved past the cameos in the Mission Demolition trailer, but I do have a theory on the Thing bigfig. I believe that Marvel told producers at LEGO (or whatever studio) to include FF members to raise awareness of the characters prior to the MCU film. However, a final design for a Ben Grimm in the upcoming 2025 set hasn’t been made, so the animators pulled the design from LEGO Marvel Superheroes. (They also did this in Maximum Overload.) It’s a fan favorite design, a near-perfect one in my opinion (dark orange would be closer, but I digress), but I doubt a design from 2013 for a video game will reappear one-to-one 12 years later. Design language and philosophy has changed drastically since the first Marvel sets, thus I think the minifig designs in these animated specials should be ignored until the final design is shown. Ha, we’ve been more likely to see a design in a LEGO set before seeing it in any trailer for a LEGO animation. I see that there is no love for the Civil War Airport Battle. I actually quite like the set! The scene is pretty hard to capture as a diorama, yet they pulled off the look pretty well, all things considered. As for the minifigs, I only need Iron Man, Cap, Black Panther, and Bucky (who is hiding in the Quinjet, by the way) to look their best. The rest of the figures are secondary. Iron Man looks suspiciously like the Mk. 43, which doesn’t bode well for me. Cap is sadly lacking dual-molded legs, which is a shame, but I’m hopeful he gets a dedicated torso for his look in Civil War. Black Panther looks wonderful. Bucky surely won’t be worse than previous minifigs, and I remain assured in that. As for the other minifigs, I do wish War Machine was included over Spidey, but this set now becomes a cheaper set for people to obtain the Stark suit. The price of $100 is a bit much. $80 would be preferred, which doesn’t seem too outrageous of a discount these days. Civil War is one of my favorite MCU films, and as long as Iron Man and Cap aren’t reuses, I’m definitely buying the set.
  17. Ah, yes… The shadow always returns. The darkness always blots out the light. You can’t defeat us, you can’t quench us. We are more than a corrupt galactic corporation. We are an idea; the final idea. We are the final truth. We are the final order. We are few in visibility, many in invisibility. We are shaken, but not stern. We are beaten, but not bruised. We are destroyed, but not defeated. We are the shadow. We are the darkness. We are the black. Long live Blacktron.
  18. I honestly don’t think all too many people watched it anyway. Besides, this improvised Green-turned-Yellow-turned-White-turned-Turtle Lantern arc is more engaging than some multi-billion dollar musical with Lady Gaga, am I right?
  19. Sorry, I was in a hyperbolic mood at that moment. (Although why didn’t anybody follow up with “You have my bow?” I would, but my name kinda restricts my involvement in that sense.)
  20. I’ve seen the discussion of declining QC crop up again and again on this forum. I just want to say that, as someone who lives in the middle of the wide USA, I’ve personally never had a significant issue with a LEGO set. The only missing parts I’ve ever had I later found stuck in the plastic bags. I’ve had 1 bad misprint on a P1 clone helmet in 2022, but I find that more cool than annoying for me. Scratched up windscreens and windows are a problem, though, and an easily solvable one at that too. I will preface, I’ve only purchased 19 sets in the last year (not counting minifigs or polybags) so I probably don’t have a large range to survey. I just figured that I’d share my experience as a fan of LEGO and member of Eurobricks. I do agree that LEGO has a monopoly, especially as it pertains to LSW. All we can do is voice demands for higher quality standards to match increasing prices, and hope for the best.
  21. GUYS!! Robin and Robin Pen Pal 2-pack OR WE BURN DENMARK. 🔥🔥🔥 (Wow, I never thought I’d ever stoop to Turtle’s insanity…) Please, no. I don’t want to have to change my profile picture to a mech for the foreseeable future! Give me some hope… just a single word on Superman sets in the summer is all I need… Looney bin… George Clooney… Clooney bin… Clooney Tunes… Looney Tunes… Oh my stars and garters. (Sorry MandoKnight.) LEGO Porky Pig could end the LEGO Omniverse as we know it. He could be an even bigger threat than Blacktron, Corn Cob, Brickheadz Joker, even whatever caused our complicated CloneCommando to cry for help that everyone including myself failed to bring up!
  22. No. A something from Endor, with an image of a 2013 catalog, was teased for being released next year, but never told when. Assuming it is an Ewok Village, if it were to follow the pattern of previous MBS sets, it’ll likely release in Fall. Aside from the leak of the Sail Barge, which was a class of its own, it feels a bit unprecedented to hear wind of a Fall D2C so soon, but not entirely implausible. The Ewok Village is one of the oldest D2C location sets, beat only by the original Cloud City and Death Star. Both of those sets have had remakes, the former of which, Cloud City’s remake, released in 2018, only 7 years ago. Compare that to the Ewok Village, which released in 2013, 12 years ago, and you may see perhaps why LEGO is keen on remaking it next year.
  23. It’s exciting that this information is being confirmed, although it changes nothing about the set to me. Fantastic Four is Fantastic Four is Fantastic Four. Galactus is going to feature a comic-accurate look in the movie anyway, so all this changes is the look of the FF’s suits, which doesn’t matter in the end since it’s still the FF’s debut thirteen years in the making anyway. Glad to know that Galactus is larger than a Sentinel, although the wording makes it sound like it wouldn’t be a up-scaled figure like I had hoped. Not from a Renowned expert, probably.
  24. Hero building, eh? Are there good buildings and bad buildings, or do you eventually realize that there are bad buildings and then there are worse buildings? Y’know what, I’m game. Sure, I’ll probably break a few international laws in the process, but that is the least of our concerns when dealing with the looming threat of Blacktron. (Although it did stop the Avengers and Supes for a couple minutes.) The commitment to character that @THELEGOBATMAN has showcased inspires me. I am Vegetarian. I am the Nitro Pepsi. I am Man.
