That's also an interesting machine for a moc, looking forward to your presentation! I used 1gor's advice for some improvements and worked on the front, made a first version that i wasn't 100% happy with so started over and now i have got something that is starting to look like a wheel loader. Not 100% sure about using the panel fairing as a mudguard but i wanted to try something different from the usual beambuild fenders.

Absolutely great build you made in quit a short time! Is the machine turning smoothly tho? It looks like there is almost no space between the tracks and superstructure. It kinda bugs me that the cabin is filled, but considering the scale and alle the functions you crammed in i will forgive you that

This looks really promising! I got a soft spot for excavators but most lego technic versions have a standard two piece boom. I can imagine it will be quite the challenge to fit everything in, i will follow your progress with great interest!

[MOC] TRX-4 1:10 Lego version
CK28 replied to Krxlion's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Looks great! not a big fan of the cutting work but well you gotta do what you gotta do.. What is the reason behind the diff lock being operated by a motor on one end and a pneumatic switch on the other? I can imagine it will be hard to sync both axles with this setup and to keep everything remote you also need one extra motor to deliver air pressure. -
Thanks for the advice and sharing your knowledge! I guess i should do some more down gearing which would also make place for a 24 clutch gear. I am currently using the 4L's with center stop to go from differential to 2L joiner to 4L with stop that connects the hub to the axle. Will give the build some looks on long axles, i have used a 6L straight out of the XL motor so that should be a clear point for improvement. Double XL motors must be real heavy, i am guessing something like a rough terrain vehicle?

[MOC] Chevrolet Blazer 1975

Cute is probably the best way to describe this, somehow i got the feeling i want to cuddle it Looks great though, i love the absolute killing suspension this calls for one of those hawaii dashboard figures and it is great to see a little detail inside that resembles one (or is that the gearswitch) Great outdoor photos as well, really adds something to the presentation of the moc. -
Time to bookmark the thread for when i buy one. Just to add to what others already said, great work on the mods! I love to see these builds that squech out every last possible gap to make a very compact and detailed build staying true to the original dimensions!

Is does indeed, i think you can go wild with different colors for 42139 and most of them will look good. Sadly i could only find a blue one when i searched on the web for inspiration. Did some improvements on the wheel loader, made the first part of the rear fenders and started on the front. I am planning to make the whole back section one big opening hood to access the battery box, just like the real machine has.

[MOC] Claas Cougar 1400
CK28 replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice video with lovely music It is real satisfying to see the folding in happen, everything falls in place ready for transport, great moc! -
Thanks though i wasn't totally satisfied so i went for the "third time's a charm". I will use the volvo 94.3 x 38 R tires, when i started this project i did not yet own enough of the newer hubs and i kinda like the smaller size of these ones, maybe i will change them later one if they cause issues, thanks for the suggestion! So i had a little break althoug i did not stop building technic, i bought 42145 second hand form a colleague and really enjoyed the build. Futheremore i made a red version of 42139 which was fun aswell: When i found out that lego would release a new technic volvo wheel loader the urges to continue with this moc returned. I wasn't 100% satisfied with the proportions of my latest version so i went on to do my favorite thing, start over again. I finally figured out an axle for the back that was just the minimum 7 studs long and from there on i continued with a improvised version following the earlier design that i made. My initial plan was to put one motor in the front but that seemed a bit more trickyer than i anticipated so the new version has all four motors in the back: More detailed pictures can be found in the bricksafe folder

[MOC] Claas Cougar 1400
CK28 replied to Jundis's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very clean and impressive, this model gives me transformers vibes! As already said changing function with the cab rotating is real awesome and so cleanly worked away, you got yourself a fan! -
My friend you are a quick builder aren't ya? Is this new creation also something in the spirit of a logging truck or rather forest machinery? Remodeling is never a bad plan, i find myself making a V2 (3, 4 5 etc...) more often than not which ussely leads to a better model, just keep the "old" version at hand if possible so you can easily catch the parts that need improving! I am curious to see what you will make!

It has been quite a while but i recently restarted with a project i had in mind for quite some time now. The aim is to make one of those bigger scale technic wheelloaders, going for something that has to look like the volvo L260H. I started this project right after the EC250, but then TC27 happened and things kinda came to a hold. About a week ago i decided to go back to what i made before but couldn't really find myself in the dimensions, things where simply to big. So i started over (again, i do that a lot actually ) and now i am quite satisfied with the way things turned out. Old (left) and new side by side: I took some heavy inspiration from Erictrax's Doosan for the rear axle, the turning mechanism is a placeholder for now to just test things out. There will be 3 motors (pf) attached for driving, steering and lifting the bucket, the fourth motor will be hidden in the front.

What's happening with Technic?
CK28 replied to Amt0571's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Most likely has to do with the effort you have to put in to get said set or moc, buying a set means you get the full package and are ready to go while buying instructions on RB is just the first step, you have to find out if you own all the necessary parts than need to find/sort them etc. I don't want to call these folks lazy but i do think this has to do with the ease a set provised compared to a (premium) moc. Otherwise i do agree on a lot of point that have been said before here, there is whole world of MOC's to discover and we still get treated with new parts etc which expands the possibilities for those MOC's. But yeah the overall quality and complexity i surely going down, looking at it from a sales perspective a lot of things can be explaind but it is still a pity for us diehard technic fans. Edit: the collecting point Lipko makes is also a good one, although i would just skip those sets i can understand the feeling when things don't seem to change for some time now and even the more hyped sets seem to be disappointments (which is of course a personal judgment) -
Congratulations to all the winners, seems that we had a clear number one and a very close midfield after that, just 1 point difference between the number 1 and 2! And of course thanks to the mods for making this all possible! I had some great fun and feel like my building skills have improved a little from this challenge!

Once again a great alternate build, and in my humble opinion better looking than the original. I get a smell of smoke and burnt rubber by simply looking at the photos! Really like your 42049 telehandler aswell, great alternate use of the turntable there! -
So i wanted to drop a joke about not being able to be narcissistic and put your own entry on top and than i read some theories about strategic voting and stuff I like to think that things wouldn't get all that wild in a fun contest like this and believe in a clean and very sportsmanship like "field"- add some rainbows, sunshine and butterflies to that for the complete experience! But in all seriousness, i like this way of voting over selecting a top X entry's because it keeps the results more open and things like originality and functionality will have a better judgment, because after all the first thing you judge are always the looks. Anyway good luck to all the participants, i am looking forward to the results!

[TC27] City bus
CK28 replied to Erik Leppen's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This build has a lot of interesting functions, seems to be quite the challenge to fit it all in! I would have never come up with the idea to make a bus for this competition, always funny to see the creativity flourish, hope you make the deadline! -

That's an eye catching color scheme! Love to compactness of the crane, that must have been quite the struggle in this scale. -
[TC27] Telehandler
CK28 replied to CK28's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Alright little bit of time pressure in the end but it's a wrap! Found out that during during my enthusiasm i forgot that a telehandler should also be able to pick stuff of from the ground level, so i reworked the fork attachment and did some adjustments to the mounting of the boom. Quite happy with the end result but not 100% with the bodywork, but well time was running out. Some more pictures: Full gallery can be found here
