I came across a MOC of another AFOL recently, I loved the yellow hoses s/he used as pipes so I tried to recreate it in a scale that'd fit my cargo train. It's not fancy, in fact it's very straight forward but it does look good with my cargo train. Here's my version of the MOC: Original MOC - http://www.flickr.com/photos/whoward69/3662182893 Brickshelf (once moderated) - http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=413407 Flickr - http://www.flickr.com/photos/legoadam/ Other cars I've built so far:

I made a "how to shoot photos" guide for my LUG but it's in Turkish and I don't feel like translating it now. But here's some demonstration for a cheap setup. Three cardboards, two desktop lamps, one window. That's what I have been using so far and you can see from my creations that they give you good enough results. I'm also using a 4 year old video camera, so you don't even need a high-end fancy photo camera.

Is EB still an exclusive adult site?

Despite the rules & forum agreement, there are many underage memebrs here and you can tell it from their creations. But I like to see young people involved in LEGO. It's a great way to spend your spare time and I'm glad those kids are doing somethig productive. I'm not too active here but I never came across someone acting immaturely. So I guess, admins are doing a good job by not banning them on sight :) In my LUG there is no age limit and we have a few 13 year olds, they are unbelieavbly mature and I never thought they could be underage until they told us so! So age doesn't mean anything alone. I wish we had more young Turkish fans over there. LEGO should be a "life long experience" -
Thanks for the review, simply beautiful. When I was a kid, I would go through my catalogs almost everyday. Stare at the lovely models, imagine how I could build them with my own parts. This is one of those sets I memorized, always had it in my mind. I never could build it but I simply adored it. Good old childhood memories :(

Thanks for putting them together, I've been asking you for ages :D This is just madness. I loved it !
-
If I remember right, it all started with a broken mold for the 9V tracks. It turned out to be too expensive to replace it and keep producing old rails. They switched to all plastic ones for cheaper sets.

I'm quoting my own message in another forum, no train cars:
-
Nice MOC but you have fallen into certain historical and geographic mistakes. -Turkey is not in Middle East, it's in Anatolia. -Turkish people were not involved in the Middle East during crusades, they were fighting in Anatolia. -The term Turkey, wasn't used until the end of 19th Century.

Thanks a lot for the nice review. Could you give us more information about part quality? I spesifically wonder the minifigures, are they low quality like we had in those castle battle packs etc?
-
It is actually SNOT, those tiles are not facing upwards, are they :)
-
Your MOCs are so marketable, very 90s !
-
Kris, do you keep all your creations together or do you break them apart after taking pictures? You must have the greatest 1x2 dark red tile stock in the entire world :D Great job again, good luck in the contest.

Hi all, Some of you will remember my recent MOCS, I've been working on a slightly smaller scaled cargo train. Regular 9V train motor is too big for my engine so I had to make one myself - will post pics here once finished. I built the chassis of the engine but I have doubts about using a Power Functions M Motor. Emerald Night used an XL so I wonder if M could carry all cars? I'll have 4 light(ish) cars plus one engine. The problem is, if I use the XL motor it'll be a huge chunk to cover and that'll result in an ugly piece of engine. M motor on the other hand will fit properly but I have doubts about the pwoer it can provide. I don't have the chance to try them now and I can't buy both just to see how it works out. Any advices?

As some of us will remember, TLG had a survey about Brickjournal a few months ago. Maybe we can take it as a market research for similar products. They could make their own adult magazine or they could provide support for Brickjournal. We can't know that yet.. But it would be great to have the idea books back if not magazines. They were inspiring to me in my childhood..

I quote Steve again:

Here's my humble colelction: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=410060 I store most small parts in icecream tubs. Cheap for your pocket, expensive for your belly :)

Sorry people, I confirmed that it's sold out. I'm quoting Steve Witt:

Very accurate design, good job! I'd say you could loose a few studs on the top, don't you think?

You can easily spot a Brickster MOC from miles away. I knew it was yours when I sat in Classic-Town :) You must post a whole picture of your western setup if you keep all your MOCs. Noone else bothers with this theme, it is unique what you do.

Hi all, thanks for the nice comments and the post on Classic-Town, wow ! I plan to add two more cars (a flat car & a hopper car) but I don't have any more train wheels so building is halted currently. I'll also need an engine to pull the train. But I may use the hopper car with electric parts too. It gives lots of room for building Power Functions inside. We'll see once I get some wheels. Hope you'll like them too!
