Heroica RPG - Cruel Angel's Thesis ~ Day Two

I don't like this. Kob was not suspected (for good reason, obviously) and yet you attacked him with no warning. Piro was scummingit up yesterday, as Calico puts it, and yet a 'friend' of yours protects him. I think your 'friends' are your scumbuddies. You and Fleyra are number 2 and 3 on my suspect list today.- 510 replies

He should tell us his results, pass the Glass to Skrupp, then Skrupp should investigate Ysp. The plan is still going smoothly, Ysp just hasn't gotten a chance to speak up yet (although I am suspicious of him for the hesitation).- 510 replies

Theoretically it could be any Ranger, Ranger Advanced Class, or you. However, we saw you craft your bomb in the conclusion so you could not have attacked Calico. That means 2 non-you Ranger or Ranger Advanced Classes are Nephilim, as (hopefully) no Townie would have attacked Calico (a vocal seemingly proTown leader) or Pauline (who as we all know is Town, and is also extremely competent). If you are one of the two handcannon users who attacked yesterday and are Town, please speak up and explain yourself. Note: Technically Corellon Moordog also made a non-attacking action publicly, but it was not shown in the conclusion so hypothetically she could have changed it to an attack privately.)- 510 replies

We launched an attack on Piro last night that should have killed him (4 HP overkill, in fact) based on numerous red flags he raised, including discussion of the situation outside of the Hall and being on the scum list of confirmed Hallie Pauline, who is known to have excellent intuition in these scenarios. Despite this he survived, and seeing as no sane Hallie would Cover him we are acting in the assumption that he is Nephilim."- 510 replies

Maybe the Pitchfork of Domination belonged to Centurus himself.

Arasmyth steps into the library for the first time in a long while, although not much has changed. Some new maps on the wall, some new books on the shelves. Byblos was off somewhere, probably looking for bananas. Arasmyth reached into his pack and pulled out a thick tome, which he placed on a table. "If I've been reincarnated to do Ethereth's work on Olegaia, then I may as well start now. Educating the masses (or at least the Hall) about magic is a good enough first step.". The tome flopped open to somewhere near the beginning as Arasmyth returned to the Hall proper.

I believe it was the pretty blond Evoker who pointed out that investigating the one above you and passing the glass downwards is a better system than investigating and passing down, because that way not only is the initial investigation immediately supported or discredited when the investigator is investigated, it also means that if we lynch an investigee the flow of the list won't be broken and we can just keep going.- 630 replies

What you did was fine, what is suspicious is how long it took you to do it. By the time you logged on, w You already had the Gold and the list was already posted, all you had to do was say "I buy a magnifying glass and use it on Emanuelle" but you didn't do so.- 630 replies

That's what I thought, thanks.

Ha, I know the feeling. I'm burning up waiting for Quests to be posted apparently we've got a tentative date of November for the next trilogy). Waaaaay back in the library I asked about magic and got a 'if you're interested write about it yourself' type of response. Assuming .i make it compatible with Scuba's short explanation of Ether, would anyone object if I wrote a 'library book' on magic's theory and mechanics?

Good to know. I don't believe I've played mafia Quested with Maxi often if at all, so I'm in no position to metagame judge him to be more likely to be Nephilim or loyal based n activity level. I still would like to hear at least one opinion, but if that's the way he plays lives, then I guess it's just different strokes for different blokes.- 630 replies

Was this planned? All of these figs and plot bunnies look amazing, and Aras would love to get in on any of them (Zepher or CMP probably fit better with something he'd actually want to do, but WBD's looks like a superb and original concept!)

Evenif you don't want to take action, surely you have opinions on the discussion we've already produced? Why, if you were to write it all down it would take over twenty pages, with that amount of talking you must have found at least one thing to comment on. Thank you, you amazingly logical fellow (not bad looking, either!)! Where were you when people were, as Skrupp would put it, 'pussyfooting about' and not putting into action the plan that we've consensually agreed on that is guaranteed to give us useful information despite the outcome?- 630 replies

I also received a potato from Pauline, Brienne. given her startling accuracy in the past and the act that I currently have no reason to mistrust her, her suspicions have been taken into account. Anyway, I just read from around page 12 all the way to here so forgive me if I've missed any accusations against me while I make my defenses. Short answer yes. Long answer, I believe stupidity is a reasonable enough explanation that I don't really want to kill him in case he's a Hero, but if he is scum I don't want to leave powerful items in his hands - heck, even if he is stupid misuse of a bomb like he claims he has could be seriously detrimental to us. As such, I relieved him of the ability to use one of his items against us. I can't take gold, I take an item at random. See above for why I did it. To both of you: Messing with the list defeats the purpose of it. If Ysp could choose between Skrupp, Emanuelle, OR Luridan, then that's three times the chance that (assuming Ysp is scum) he had a scum buddy available he could 'clear' and pass the glass to. To those of you questioning my trustworthiness: This early in the game nobody is trustworthy... That's the point of the plan. The fact that I not only came up with the plan but also acknowledged flaws presented by other heroes and then introduced redundancies to at least partially address those flaws should speak volumes about how much I've done to support the Hall. Those of you muttering about how the plan is unreliable, no sh*t. Do you have a better alternative? No? Then please accept the fact that it's currently our best option and the fact that even if it majorly gets screwed up we still will learn from it... Unlike from grumbling and making half hearted accusations. On Ysp's trustworthiness: Good thing we have those redundancies, huh? I don't like how hesitant Ysp was to take action when in his first post of the day he literally said he saw no flaws in it. Anything I failed to address?- 630 replies

It's still scummy. Also, tue line between OOC and IC is typically very much blurred in this type of game.- 630 replies

Checking in one more time before I take a nap... And what's this? Editing isn't against the rules, technically, but getting rid of large chunks of your post, especially when you accuse someone, is just plain scummy (newbies, take note: edits are bad form and usually just banned outright.). Also, as Theodor pointed out, that made no sense whatsoever.- 630 replies

Fair enough, your logic is completely sound - Calico and I could both be seen as scummy right now. I'll just hope my other actions and ideas convince you otherwise.- 630 replies

If I were evil I'd have just attacked, I doubt too many people would've been upset about it and it wouldn't have looked too scummy.., and the end result would be that I (hypothetically evil) would've gotten his items anyway.- 630 replies

Ha, clever. I don't really want to off a potential hero this early, but leaving dangerous items in the hands of those who might mouse them is hardly a good idea. In fact... One of Kharybdis's arms transformed into a long, thin tentacle, which snaked into Luridan's pocket, then retracted with a stolen item attached to a suction cup. ... I'll emulate you.- 630 replies

And we only need 10 or so heroes to off him since he's got 41 HP and we've got WP between 2 and 6, so it really wouldn't be too huge a drain on our resources to just get rid of him. You're not the only newbie here, yet you're the only one whose head we're clamoring for. Maybe there's a reason for that?- 630 replies

The problem with your idea is that it's half common sense (attack only when necessary) and half just plain bad advice (attack your suspicions at night). If you're confident in your suspicions attack publicly so everyone can see and make observations and judgements. If you're town, you should open yourself to scrutiny whenever it's logical, as depriving the town of information is always scummy.- 630 replies
