LEGO Collectable Minifigures Future Series Rumours
Ben S replied to r4-g9's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It's a long shot, but what about LOTR? The Hunt for Gollum was expected in late 2026 but was delayed to 2027. And strictly speaking, it would mean a new license, since LOTR and The Hobbit were different licenses. Just wishful thinking, I guess Edit: Actually, thinking about it, maybe it'd just fall under LOTR. -
I hope they come up with something similar to what the talented Marcin Otreba designed here: Stunning work!

Incredibly detailed build! I really like the mechanisms and how you have integrated that lime green landscape piece into the build, it fits so well!

Thanks @Grover! As always, I appreciate your kind feedback! Lichen is exactly what I had in mind. I somehow need to improve my photographic skills, haha. -
Congrats to the winners! All entries were awesome. Great to see GoH full of activity again!

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: The Relic Ruminator

Really solid base, I like the contrast of browns on the floor. The knife case is great. What I like most is that small bookshelf, the columns are fantastic! I might use that technique for future builds. -
Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category A: The Bridge Troupe
Ben S replied to TalusMoonbreaker's topic in Guilds of Historica
I really like the sharp corners of the bridge too! It's a very nice touch. I also found the crowd and activity you have managed to fit inside the bridge with so little space haha, really gives off busy market vibes! -
Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category A: The Travelling Bard Tavern
Ben S replied to SimWies's topic in Guilds of Historica
I really like this! As others have said, its simplicity makes the details stand out even more. Sometimes mocs can be overloaded, this is just neat. I really like how you built the roof with the four wooden supports. The arrow slits are also a nice touch.- 11 replies

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category A: Minstrel Minotaur
Ben S replied to jtooker's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very charming build! As others have said, it's very immersive and full of life. Even if you didn't have enough time to make the background denser, it still looks deep enough to me! The lighting is a great touch, may I ask if those are real lights or photoshopped? -
Book IV Prelude Challenge B: Teaching the carpenter apprentice
Ben S replied to MrLind's topic in Guilds of Historica
I really like the use of grille pieces for the roof, as well as the wooden elements. The grassy slope is also very well done. I especially like how you arranged the logs horizontally — I also built a small cabin and couldn’t find a clean way to do that. -

@Garmadon @LordDan @Seagull King of Vaughan @jtooker @LettuceBrick @mrcp6d @Kai NRG Thank you guys! I actually took it from the Horizon Adventures game. I haven't played it, but I found a lot of inspiration there lol, it has a lot of well-done scenery. Yeah, I initially was thinking of doing that, but I couldn't get the result I wanted in such a small house. This time, I did something like that, if you want to see: -

As others have said, I really like the floor technique and the bookshelves. The border is also very neat and cool. -
Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: History Lesson
Ben S replied to Seagull King of Vaughan's topic in Guilds of Historica
I agree about the carpet, looks great. Simple build, but the color choice works really well and contrasts nicely the different elements.- 11 replies

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: The Archery Lesson
Ben S replied to bmohnsen's topic in Guilds of Historica
Very cool bows! Great use of furs for the Ethelfieda's boots, too. I especially like how you have made the hands of the student, really nice pose. Is that an antenna for the thumb? -
Book IV Prelude Challenge A: ”The Bard of Old Town”
Ben S replied to T-86(swebrickLUG)'s topic in Guilds of Historica
As others have said, I love how you’ve captured the elven aesthetics with the arches and patterns. It really gives me Grey Havens vibes. -
Great atmosphere! I really like how you have matched the roof's side slopes and the plates' angles. As you said, the blacksmith's influence is clearly recognizable. The interior details are also very cool, is that a trap I can see behind the bar?

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: Song of an ancient battle

I love how you have achieved the "mediterranean" style! The printed tiles are really well used. The roof and evey detail, it's a really neat build. -

Ben S replied to Ben S's topic in Guilds of Historica
@T-86(swebrickLUG) @Gideon Thanks guys! Yeah, thanks for the tips. I actually struggled a lot with that and made several attempts, but I don't have much photography knowledge and couldn't get the focus right. I'll keep those tips in mind next time, maybe I'll also look into some courses on the subject. -
My entry to category A:

It is widely known, or at least supposed, that bards are sociable individuals who love wandering through noisy places and entertaining crowds. That is also true for Per the Bard, who roams all across Mitgardia, living in taverns and inns throughout the year — but he also misses the silence and tranquility of the wild north. He was born in the far northern Mitgardia, chilly and silent, which explains his longing for peace and quiet. Once a year, in summer (or what might be called summer, since in northern Mitgardia it lasts only a few weeks), he returns to his homeland, where he owns a small cabin near a lake. There, he rests from his busy year, enjoying the calm of the northern lands and the close contact with nature and wildlife, while writing and singing new songs to add to his repertoire. For a change, his audience is not human but the wild animals that inhabit the forest — though occasionally he visits the Frostwatch Keep, an ancient Mitgardian fortress nearby, where he and his songs are always welcomed.

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: How to Play the Old Tusk Horn
Ben S replied to Simon_S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love it! It's incredible how many details you have fitted inside a 16x16. And it's crazy that it's a one day build lol. I especially like the walls technique, very simple and neat, I might use it in the future.
