It is widely known, or at least supposed, that bards are sociable individuals who love wandering through noisy places and entertaining crowds. That is also true for Per the Bard, who roams all across Mitgardia, living in taverns and inns throughout the year — but he also misses the silence and tranquility of the wild north. He was born in the far northern Mitgardia, chilly and silent, which explains his longing for peace and quiet. Once a year, in summer (or what might be called summer, since in northern Mitgardia it lasts only a few weeks), he returns to his homeland, where he owns a small cabin near a lake. There, he rests from his busy year, enjoying the calm of the northern lands and the close contact with nature and wildlife, while writing and singing new songs to add to his repertoire. For a change, his audience is not human but the wild animals that inhabit the forest — though occasionally he visits the Frostwatch Keep, an ancient Mitgardian fortress nearby, where he and his songs are always welcomed.

Book IV Prelude Challenge: Category B: How to Play the Old Tusk Horn
Ben S replied to Simon_S's topic in Guilds of Historica
Love it! It's incredible how many details you have fitted inside a 16x16. And it's crazy that it's a one day build lol. I especially like the walls technique, very simple and neat, I might use it in the future. -
Book IV Prelude Challenge A: The bard of the countryside around Faeril
Ben S replied to MrLind's topic in Guilds of Historica
Looks great! The interior really conveys the atmosphere. As Talus Moonbreaker has pointed out, the roof and structure of the building look excellent. Now that's a longhouse! -
I tend to be very busy with work and studies, but I’ll definitely try to find some time to build and participate! I haven’t built much yet, and my sig fig still has more to contribute, so I’ll continue with Mitgardia.

I just joined both Eurobricks and GoH last year, so I'm still a real newbie. I had been lurking on Eurobricks since I was young, and I especially enjoyed the MOCs you made for GoH, so it felt only natural to join. As a castle fan, I feel really drawn to the Guilds' world and community. As others have pointed out, I like that you build at your own pace, with no pressure at all. I've also enjoyed the feedback I’ve received for my freebuilds, even though I’ve only done a few. Especially yours @Grover, they’re always very detailed and truly help improve my builds. I really like all the guilds, they’re so different. I feel most drawn to Mitgardia or Avalonia. I’d say it’s because I’ve seen more MOCs from those guilds, and they resemble the classic castle/viking setting I love.

I love it! The forced perspective is great and the paneling details too. I especially like the chairs, really clever! I need to reverse engineer them -

I've seen that some June sets are already available for pre-order, but the Star Wars June wave isn't. How does that work? Are they usually available for pre-order? Thanks in advance! -
Indeed! Your tips are definitely more than welcome! I'll take note of the birds too

So, I can still have hopes of getting a The Hobbit version with dwarves? I have been following your conversation, but I'm a bit out of date. If I remember correctly, the consensus was for a LOTR version right?

@Grover Thank you very much! I'm really glad you liked it! I always enjoy your detailed feedback! I'll keep the flag direction detail in mind next time, it's a nice touch.

I think you should check BrickNerd's monthly contest round-ups. They cover the entire year, and many of them run annually. https://bricknerd.com/home/category/Contest

@T-86(swe)@Kai NRGGlad you liked it! I already have three more modules in mind. Hopefully, I'll come up with a new Mitgardian build in a few months.

Hello there! I'm happy to finally show you my latest GoH freebuild, the gatehouse of my character's fortress. I was greatly inspired by the Mitgardian builds of @LittleJohn and @soccerkid6. I'm also planning to expand the fortress in the future by adding small modules. More images and details: Here is the prototype I created when I didn't have all the pieces yet, with a different colour scheme: Hope you like it!

I haven't kept up to date lately. Were there BAM parts available at PAB? I'd really like to get my hands on those new viking torsos.

Yes please! They need to use the Dragonborn Paladin's armor for the Gondor soldiers!

Congrats to the winners!

Thanks! Yeah, it would have been a good idea. I made it open but never considered making the office on the right side lol
