Damn straight. (Day #340) I kinda hope the AT AT is a complete companion set to the AT RT. That way we can get both the armoured commander, the leaked warlord and a decent complement of troopers. Similar to how there was no character overlap between the 327th BP and MTT last year. So far the only SW set this year that’s a definite lock for me this year is the NR X-Wing. AT AT is a likely. But the shuttle, while intriguing, I’m sceptical on getting as I already own 2015. Time to start praying 2028 will deliver.

The Batman Part 2 is slated for 2027. Tbf only the gold versions of those Batmobiles are can be unlocked with those codes. I’ve realised that if LotDK pulls from all Batman media, origin variations and Gotham lore, there’s a non-zero chance we get an Alan Scott appearance or reference as Gotham’s original hero. Recently bought the Geoff Johns Green Lantern Rebirth Compendium. It’s now my bible. Highly recommend purchasing. Which means I’ve now also read Rann-Thanagar War, Guy Gardner: Collateral Damage, GLC: Recharge and Ion. Guy Gardner has now replaced Jessica Cruz in my human GL ranking. This feels more like Lego failing to properly fulfil the role of battlepacks. Between 2012-18 there was always a stormtrooper BP on shelves. But now there isn’t. M&G might also be the first Disney SW film to not receive a Battlepack in its first or second wave. Which is stupid when considering how much stormtroopers are being marketed so far. What was the point of introducing blister packs in 2022 only to drop them by 2023? I have a few theories aside from the obvious Day #338 as to why we haven’t heard anything. Shadow Lord set (not impossible, but I don’t get why they wouldn’t just say it’s based on it) M&G spoiler set (unlikely as there’s only a week between the set and movie’s release so not much point) Zero Company set (most unlikely, but if any new videogame would get a set from modern Lego, it would be the Clone Wars game) It’s something great and leakers are waiting to unleash a April 1st bombshell, as per recent tradition.

Shocker and Ultimate Peter were a small price to pay in exchange for this victory. But Flash is being set up to be the next you know who unfortunately.

Day 337 is just a reminder that we live in a society A £10 ROTJ Scout Speeder vs Luke or ESB Luke and Han Taun Taun set would provide the exact cheap entry point for kids the OT seriously needs right now (Luke mech doesn’t count) Same with PT and Clone Wars named characters. Whether it’s a dwarf spider or a republic speeder, include a Jedi and droid combo. Army building would be cool. But if we’re only getting 1-2 of this subtheme a year from now on, they should prioritise making main characters accessible to kids.

IIRC, in the UK the 327th BP had around 3000+ sales on Amazon in October. So I’d guess August, when hype was greatest, would have had similar or greater numbers.

Amazon UK sales data for Smart Play for the last month is starting come through, the amount of units sold in its premiere month is comically bad. Throne Room: 50+ Millenium Falcon: 50+ AT ST: 100+ Landspeeder: 100+ X-Wing: 100+ Vader’s TIE Advanced: 300+ Dagobah and Cantina data haven’t been released yet, but I expect the former will be 50+. For reference, the UCS Death Star has sold 200+ units on Amazon at full price. And the TIE Bomber, a 3 year old set, as well as Jango’s Slave One and Ahsoka’s Interceptor have sold 300+ each in the last month. The U-Wing and ARC-170 are currently at both 200+. The Night Trooper BP is 600+ and 332nd vs Mandalorians is 900+. Clear take away: Lego should make more battlepacks and a TIE Avenger (#335) as TIEs consistently sell well over many years of shelf life.

And the Night Trooper Battlepack come from a series that received a lot of hype because of its flashbacks to a specific conflict featuring a a specific breed of troopers…. There’s definitely an agenda here./s Meanwhile we have the TIE Avengenda (#334) Jakku from a purely combat and cinematic perspective is an awesome concept. From a logistics and tactical perspective it’s stupid. Though I think it would make sense for Rax to have given some competent officers like Gideon, Faro and Pellaeon a memo to say: ‘hey, so we’re going to need some guys to distract any remaining New Republic forces while we work on rebuilding the empire in the Unknown Regions. Could you do that?’ Cause let’s face it, even Rax wasn’t fanatical enough to not realise the NR wouldn’t have sent all their forces to Jakku. Or maybe because Pellaeon and Faro are strong believers in what the empire can be, a source of security, law and order, they saw that pirates attacks in the outerrim increased exponentially as the Empire was routed during the war and decided that the empire needed to stick around in some form as a deterrent.

Perhaps Filoni is trolling us and keeping the OT tradition of rank inconsistency? They aren’t even doing enough for M&G either. There’s no Hutt Starfighter or Embo sets. Or a Imperial Remnant BP. 2026-7 (kill me) is arguably the worst possible time frame in the 2020s for Lego to start doing SW Smart Play as there’s too much content releasing and they’re struggling to keep up with current annual set quantity as is. What is Lego doing? It seems like they considered whether they could do Smart Play than whether they should. I too hope we get a 2023 style April Fools info dump. Cause we need a TIE Avenger, the remnant fortress and a remnant battlepack. But if he’s in the AT AT I hope we get both commanders as my army needs a field officer.

I actually think this new figure implies we’re getting a Imperial Remnant Fun-time Hideout as I don’t see them including two officers in the AT AT, and why would you not include the one that we’ve known is in been in the AT AT scene for two years now? Also the AT AT is likely August, and I’m not sure if those sets would be this far into production. It would also explain why the AT RT Attack’s turret has pins to open it up specifically. So it can also connect to a remnant base. There better also be a TIE Avenger (Day #332!) and Remnant BP coming by the way! The helmet was pretty stupidly priced as well. Imagine how funny it would be if this was an Adam Driver/ JJ Abrams tax.

There are now 2 months until the Baby arrives. Two months until the fate of future new content-based SW sets is decided. It’s day #331. Out of who knows how many. We do not gamble with TIE Avengers. Next Celebration is in 2027. But yeah, or an imperial BP or a patrol gunship would also be good non-risky set candidates which they should do. Maybe even a AT ST if Smart Play is discontinued early. They should also do more BF2 Style battlepacks. It’s just a good format. And it’s not even risky if they’re basic classes. I’m not sure why they’re not doing that.

But still a better situation than the KOTOR remake I guess. Lego literally made a BF2 set as recently as 2023 so they are really confusing regarding videogames.

Malgus was made in 2012 in the Sith Interceptor. So a Malak or Revan remake wouldn’t defeat the point of the anniversary figures. Just as Survivor Cal wouldn’t when looking at Young Leia (Coughing Baby) Oh. Wait. If Jedi III is releasing in 2027 (4 years between JFO and JS so probably same wait) I think we can kiss goodbye at any chances of sets if Shadow Lord, Starfighter, Smart Play and Ahsoka S2 are demanding sets in addition to the known list.

Yoda scares me Vader’s ok I guess. 75450 as far as we know has been skipped. 75451 is the Hutt set. 75458 is obviously a TIE Avenger /s (#327) Looking at the day: 327th are big poo poo heads I guess. I just don’t like how these are taking up set slots in a year that desperately need more variety on the play-set side of things.

(#326) A hypothetical August wave should include: Imperial Remnant BP (M&G) AT AC (Shadow Lord) Jedi Starfighter Clone set TIE Avenger Hutt Starfighter (M&G) But Lego will not because I guess Mando must have all the sets. You’ll get a Luke’s Landspeeder and you’ll like it!! Wait, what if they get the Speed Champion guys on the AOTC Bounty Hunter Pursuit next year? That’d be fire. Wholeheartedly agreed

Damn. Odd choice in a year where the founder of the double lightsaber and participant in one of the most beloved lightsaber duels is getting his own show. New Maul Shadowlord trailer has now released. The animation is gorgeous. And yet again: why couldn’t it have been TK Troopers in the January BP? The new walker seems to be very prevalent. 1807! It was me Barry!! I was the admiral who bombarded Copenhagen!!!! (Day #225 of trying anything to get a TIE Avenger) It’s the next $70 set Smart Play has really screwed this year’s allocation of sets up huh. Looks like Lego’s going to go 2 for 2 on severely missed series opportunities. Can we please just get some of the Ninjago guys? They evidently put a lot of thought into balancing. (Look how evenly spread the Ninja are in each wave)

Day #324 of asking for a Lego TIE Avenger Fortune favours the blasphemous I guess. 75458 is a June set. Yet we’ve heard nothing about it. Not even its content affiliation unlike all the other M&G sets. Weird.

323! 323! 323! My philosophy is if it’s just a really tall humanoid on scale with Hutts and Hulks big figs are necessary. If it’s anything larger like a Rancor or Dragon it should probably be brick built. I know the moulds are cool but I personally don’t see the point of having action figure sized moulded figures in construction toy sets. A mixture of moulded and brick-built parts would be suitable for the Rancor. I know it’s an abomination. But for some reason I can’t get the idea of Rotta ending up having a serpentine tail and Axle torso out of my head. But even Sith don’t aid the destruction of the entire galaxy.

I didn’t really like it. I found it was a mid film with great cinematography. But some racing in Starfighter would be fun. Well I wouldn’t say that it’s gaining popularity as I’m just retooling my ideas from 9 months ago. @Mandalorianknight i am very much enjoying all your movie wishlists. Some much needed remakes combined with a unique spin. Delicious. Simply delicious. And most impressive. 1. I’m not sure. But the lack of a ISD bridge diorama is just stupid. 2. Have a cap on 18+ gimmicks sets (6-8 annually) and revert back to being mostly play-set focused to ensure variety. That’s how I got into Lego as a kid, and it’s how I intend to stay in Lego until I’m inevitably priced out or they run out of plastic. Instead a full wishlist, I’m going to start a What If series. Where I speculate on how things would have changed if something different happened or didn’t happen. Starting with: What If: The 2020 501st BP had been a commercial failure? Some major things: Lego would become much more reluctant to take internet demand seriously, particularly regarding TCW. 2021 - would have no difference 2022 - where we start seeing some major differences The April 187th Republic Fighter Tank would have been replaced by a Hoth Defence set (Snowspeeder and a small trench build with: Luke Skywalker, Dak Ralter, General Reikan, Rebel Soldier and a Snowtrooper) The August AT TE would have still happened. But,since online fan demand for clones like Cody was evidently overblown after the 501st BP, it would have been AOTC based to tie in properly with the minifig pack and Obi-Wan’s Delta 7. Minifigs would have been: Clone Commander, Clone Lieutenant, Clone Trooper, Mace Windu, Anakin Skywalker and 3 Geonosis B1 Battledroids. Everything else remains the same 2023 Instead of 501st Specialists BP, BF2 still gets representation through a remake of 9489 but with a Stormtrooper heavy instead of a scout. 20 years of Clone Wars is still celebrated with some 18+ representation. However only P1 Cody’s 18+ helmet and not Rex’s is made (Rex is replaced by the AT AT Pilot or a Red Guard) The UCS Venator still occurs since the ISD retired and the UCS Gunship had still been successful. However, P1 Cody and General Kenobi are the minifigs included. The September Coruscant Guard Gunship is replaced by a new Endor Bunker set to commemorate the 40th anniversary of RotJ and act as a companion to Yavin. (Minifigs include: Imperial Officer, Navy Trooper, Scout Trooper, Stormtrooper, Ewok, Chewbacca, Leia (reuse from Speeder chase) and Han Solo.) But this set is an additional £10 compared to the Gunship we did get. Instead of a summer 332nd BP we basically receive 75373 10 months earlier as its companion, the Moff Gideon bunker, had been made obsolete by the Endor Bunker. Everything else remains the exact same. Including Yoda’s starfighter as it’s still 20 years of clone wars. The 212th Clone in the year’s AC never actually happened in the 2022 AT TE. And is therefore replaced by a Scout Trooper 2024 The Clone vs Droid Battlepack still happens. But with 3 P1 Clones and a P1 Sargeant after the AT TE, unlike the 501st BP, was successful. Fives does not become an Anniversary figure, he is replaced in the lineup by either Mara Jade, Kix (pirate), Yaddle or Yarael Poof. Since Moff Gideon’s bunker has now been made obsolete, it is replaced by an Acolyte Vector Starfighter set. (Including: Sol, Osha Jecki and Qimir.) Instead of Ambush on Mandalore BP, since that has already released, we get a generic KOTOR Jedi vs Sith Battlepack to represent how Lego has made sets for that era, and to somewhat tie in with Acolyte. And to give Malak some playmates without making him less special. Instead of Captain Rex’s Y-Wing Microfighter we get General Kenobi’s Republic Gunship Microfighter Grogu’s escape does still happen, but the 501st Troopers included do not have helmet holes as without P2 Cody in 2022 they would have never needed to make a new clone helmet. Surprisingly, Rebuild the Galaxy still happens with Jedi Bob in a leading role cause it’s funny. However, he does not receive his own Starfighter set as Lego’s not entirely confident the internet demand will translate to good sales (after 501st BP) and instead is included in the Dark Falcon in place of Beach Luke. Jedi Bob’s Starfighter set slot is replaced by a TPM AAT with: Padme, Jar Jar and 2 B1 Battledroids. Since Moff Gideon’s bunker never happened, neither do Praetorian guards. Which means that the one in the 2024 AC is replaced by one of the generic KOTOR Sith from the BP. There also are no P2 Clone paper bags with magazines due to them not having been in sets, there are instead more builds and named characters. Since there’s less confidence of TCW Glup Shittos, R2 KT rightfully replaces QT KT as an anniversary figure since, despite QT being a stand in for KT, KT is ultimately the droid which represents the SW fandom at its best. Everything else remains the same. 2025 January remains the exact same. The ARC-170 happens for ROTS 20th Anniversary and Ahsoka’s Interceptor because she’s popular. The August Clone Turbo Tank is replaced with a Kashyyyk Republic Gunship including: Luminara Unduli, Commander Gree, 2 41st Scout Troopers, Chewbacca and 2 Battledroids. As by that point it’d have been 12 years since the last Gunship release. The 327th BP is replaced by Separatist Attack: Vulture Droid, Dwarf Spider and 2 B2 Battledroids vs Yoda and Tarful Whilst the UCS Jango’s Slave One does happen to try and entice those who already have UCS Boba’s, the Play-Scale August Slave One is instead Boba’s based on ESB with: Lando Calarissian, Boba Fett, Princess Leia and a Han Solo Carbonite slab. The August V-19 Torrent doesn’t happen due to the possible inclusions of Obi-Wan and Anakin already being on shelves for cheaper. Its set slot is replaced by a TIE Avenger with: Cassian (using the new helmet mould slot used by the Clone Pilot), Krennic and a Stormtrooper No midi-scale Republic Acclamator. Instead we get a midi scale imperial shuttle. Instead of the Clone Cadet May 4th GWP there is instead a small Yoda vs Palpatine Senate Duel diorama GWP. The Separatist MTT I’m honestly not sure on. It definitely would be different. But I’m not sure if it’d end up being something else entirely like a Fondor Haulcraft, Boga Chase, Stinger Mantis or Gozanti Cruiser or just as easily have become simply a brown TPM MTT. Everything else remains the same. As the 501st BP had nothing to do with the Buildable character scourge. 2026 The Mauldalorian BP now includes TK Troopers instead of 332nd and is pushed to June to tie in with Maul Shadowlord. Due to the Coruscant Gunship never happening, the Shocktrooper Mech is replaced by P1 Captain Rex’s Republic Gunship mech Everything else is pretty much the same from what we know of the year so far. Okay. So that’s my What If. Some good changes, some bad. I’d love to know what you guys think and whether I’m just unreasonable. And do let me know of any What Ifs you’d like me to try and figure out.
