Any of those MOCs are in a sensible scale and not using a ridiculous number of pieces? The ones I saw generally were either in a very weird scale or would be a set way above a 1000$ price point...

You're kinda ignoring just how limited gwps and such can be. The DnD Mimic went out pretty fast, I'm fully expecting this will be gone at least as quickly, if not faster. Meaning you have to be able to get the set basically right after it appears in the store, or you risk missing out and having to pay through the nose on the secondary market. The DnD set dropped at 1 am (in my area anyway), which isn't exactly a great time for a lot of people... No, we don't know what it will be.

Honestly I'd prefer if it wasn't LotR related, and Barad-Dur got a Brickhead gwp. Would mean I can wait a bit and see if it follows the route Rivendell went, getting some nice discounts :D

Brick Clicker mentioned on Discord that an 18+ gwp is scheduled for June 1 st. Being related to Barad-Dur seems likely (just wait for it to be the Witch King on a (brick-built) fell beast).

2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

It probably does (even if I forgot about it), but you specified Lion Knights/Black Falcons getting yearly sets, and it certainly isn't a set related to either ;P -

That is a highly personal opinion entering "no true Scotsman" territory. Sorry, meant 2023. -
2025/26 Castle [wishlist/speculation]

This seems like splitting hair - we may not be having an official subtheme, but the various sets in the City and Friends lines clearly form a cohesive whole. They may not be under a subtheme, sure, but I'd argue we should be looking at more than just that. Because if we go "these are city sets, they don't count as Space, it would mean we didn't get a Castle set in quite a while, since they're under the Icons, Ideas or Creator 3-in-1 umbrellas. What set did either get in 2022? -
I saw it pop up in a few videos, always with no source or reason given. Well, almost always - one guy claimed they moved it to not conflict with Rivendell. As little sense as that does make...

There are also some new Brickheadz coming - Gimli and Legolas IIRC.

A displacer beast - the set features a brick-built one (the dark thing with tentacles). Think of a dark-furred, six-legged panther with tentacles and you kinda know what it should look like ;)- 685 replies

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes

They're a preliminary render. Brick Clicker and Clay (running Brick Tap) both said that is the reason they look how they look. But they're legit. -

Yup. Can also see it on the back of the box (bottom right). -

The cleric could also be a dwarf. And some claim the rogue will be elven, possibly drow. Probably not. It is quite a bit of time and we're having the space cmf series in the meantime, They probably won't want to overshadow it with the dnd one.- 685 replies

Where is that coming from? Just a few days ago we had Brick Clicker stating it comes June 1st in his video...

Yeah, the Blacksmith's one flaw is that it doesn't fit with anything Castle scale-wise XD -
I have yet to get a single copy :D was on a lego hiatus since... 2001 or so, got back into it in 2022, buying the Blacksmith. Later came the Lion Castle, both would make the 3-in-1 look like a poor relative, so I kinda skipped it. I like a few mocs of it, but they want 3 or 4 copies, so probably won't happen anytime soon (not enough room and money to bother).
-
Is that even likely in this day and age? On my local market even used ones don't tend to be hugely discounted...
-
Don't think MF would matter much for Lego's own plans - the 30k copies were nowhere near meeting the demand, and if anything seeing how quickly the set sold out will only encourage the company to make their own take. Which I'd gladly see, since I'm not in the mood to pay a scalpel premium on the Fortress.

As far as we know, there is no holdup - Brick Clicker mentioned he heard the reveal was planned for March, Lego might have moved the teaser up a bit to retake some google results from discussions over the leaked image.- 685 replies

Reviews are starting to pour in (Tiago, Solid Brix Studios). Generally the main complain (unsurprisingly) are the stickers. -
Incidentally it is also the 70th anniversary of LotR.

Honestly even just using plates of a different color for the rooms (like LKC did) would go a long way towards making the interiors less of a blending together mess (and while they are a different color, I don't know why they used dark grey arches,,, don't look too good imho).
