Lego Icons 10332 Medieval Town Square Discussion Thread

In case you missed it, all the factions had their logos tweaked in this new Castle "wave". :P Arguably in one case a sticker is better than a print would be - if you apply the tapestry one the other way around, it will work better as a tapestry for a MOC. -

Wouldn't hold my breath, -
If I'm honest I'd prefer an unrelated GWP - means you don't have to get the set at launch or buy the GWP on the aftermarket to have all the LotR/Tolkien stuff you'd want... Indiana Jones doing poorly isn't unique to Lego though. Dial of Destiny certainly wasn't a success, losing Disney a lot of money, making them shelve whatever plans they had for the franchise and call it the "final instalment". I don't think Indy ever had the popularity of LotR - nor its staying power in popculture - and it has been 35 years since we had an IJ movie that got really positive reception (Crystal Skull certainly didn't). I know we passed the 20th anniversary of the LotR trilogy, but those movies were something on a whole different level than what Indiana could hope for. Plus we had other Tolkien(esque) offerings the last few years, though their quality is... debatable at best.

Could be. I tried both Paypal and the card, both got refused. A moment I wished I'd set up a debit. On the other hand, may be for the best I don't :D -

The preorder didn't go through cause the site kept telling me I have insufficient funds. Apparently they took the money, sent it back and people will be properly charged when it ships. -

Oh come on, official sets were always a mixed bag. And the designer who showcased this is a veteran. But you could see he wasn't exactly happy with all the corners he had to cut.- 685 replies

Bricklink's Mountain Fortress. Despite all of its flaws I'd love to have that set, but I ducked up, and the paycheck came in less than 24 hours too late... -

Many thanks! Looks like the weaver/woodworker/farm may cause me some space issues as well... Probably will need to set up some plates to physically check how it can work out... Maybe if I split the tavern/guardhouse into two parts and tuck the other building into a corner... -
Animals are the big thing, but they also cut down on trees and sidebuilds. The building that became the cheesemaker also had two storeys in the leak.

Medieval Town Square - which lost a bunch of stuff compared to the survey image leak and went heavy on stickers.

Would you happen to also have a digital build of the LKC to showcase how they work together? Also, what are the base dimensions of the buildings? I could play around counting the studs in the images, but if you already have a full digital model... -

The yellow castle tapestry, all the signs, paintings and posters are stickered. Ditto for the book tile the taxcollector is holding. Edit. And the shutters. -

It is more than just the box - all the officials pictures show the blanks. More penny-pinching from Lego. -

It isn't perfect, since I couldn't be bothered, but it works quite well. The sad part is, I wouldn't even be surprised... -

I fully expect Eldorado not to sell too well, since while it might have reached the design goals (ie. modularity and having a brick-built raised baseplate replacement) it wasn't without a cost - most reviews complained about how repetitive and boring building the rock parts was - while eating a huge chunk of the parts included - and going modular lead to some weird design choices. The set ended up being either a very expensive playset (in a theme far less popular with kids than the alternatives) or a display piece with some glaring issues. Nostalgia factor was a thing, but I know Pirate fans who still decided to skip it due to all the issues (or at best wait for a decent discount). The quality of some prints also was lackluster (ie. the white parts of some torsos)... -

Yeah, it is a companion set to the Castle. The designer even said the town provides stuff for the castle. -

I'd really hope the new Lion shield isn't a print, which would probably mean no faction sticker sheet (as I kinda doubt they'd make such an extra)... -

I'll probably get the set, will be heavily tempted to replace the roofs in the tower/inn area with something like the Blacksmith set has. I'll probably try using the freed up parts to replace the completely shitty roofs in the other buildings. Certainly disappointed with stickers being everywhere, but it is what it is... Can't say I'm disappointed by not having a Dragon Knight shield or a crossed axes torso, since nobody ever promised any of that, and tbh I always found the idea the village - that was obviously Lion Knight affiliated - selling stuff for a rival factions a bit much to expect ;)
