Super Hero Caption Contest! Week Four
Amset-Rah replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
Ladies and gentlemen, we're gearing up for the fight of the century! It's a battle of naughty and nice, Claus vs. Claws in this epic festive fight! -
Clutch Powers, where are you?
Amset-Rah replied to Miles's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I want to say there was a minifig that was a promo, but I'm not sure. -
A little OT, but coincidentally I got myself a CMF Hippie last weekend, and I instantly thought of the Poison Ivy funny. Too bad most of the ideas in the well have gone dry for him for now. What, no love for the Spongebob troll funny? That was hilarious.

Simply amazing. I am in love with that TV, as well as the lighting fixtures you did (Like the cross in the bedroom). The toys like the duck are a nice throwback to Lego's history, as is, well, this entire MOC. No wonder it's so well received, I can't think of any flaws here.

Best/Worst designed licenced minifigure ever?
Amset-Rah replied to Santaduckz's topic in LEGO Licensed
Best: This is a tough choice, but for me it's a toss-up between Wonder Woman and any figs from Lord of the Rings (Particularly Gandalf and the Uruks). WW has an awesome hairpiece and plenty of detail (Though as Oky pointed out her armbands are missing, but I can live with that), and the Uruks just look amazing, especially with their variety (With or without the white hand face paint). Worst-I'd say the some of the Harry Potter minifigs from the middle of the run, particularly Ron and Hermoinie (SP?). Their faces looked weird, like they've been flattened, but the 2006 Squidward and early Avatar Fire Nation figs are eyesores as well, but I'm a bit biased against Spongebob and Nickelodeon anyway (Though the TMNT cartoon/sets show some promise) -
Nice work on your brick-built baddies! I like the use of the grill pieces for the mummy and Dracula's cape. I'd say these guys are pretty darn close to their CMF counterparts.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Amset-Rah replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
So Friday I went to this little mini TRU they recently built in my local mall, and they had one S7 and S8 next to each other, and I spent a good while feeling for the ones I needed. Now my story isn't as spectacular as anyone else's here, but I looked through the S8 box for at least 20 minutes looking for an Actor, but I couldn't find him (He's my must have for S8), so I just left with two S7's I needed (Computer Programmer and Hippie) -
Let's share our funny interesting photos!

In "Pro wrestling" they often hit each other with fold-up chairs or smash one another on tables and the like. ECW did this all the time (The letters stood for Extreme Championship Wrestling). -
Limited Edition Lego Christmas Set 2012 1/1
Amset-Rah replied to GRogall's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I might have to see if I can fork over that much cash in my holiday shopping to get this little wonder. I'm sold on the premise alone. (I loves me some horse drawn carriages) However, this is coming from someone who doesn't have any Winter Village sets (Though I love the look of the cottage and could use it year round with some modifications)- 67 replies

I'm liking the lab set, so at least that's something. The rest are a bit meh, but I like the fact every set has a foot soldier in it (I guess to army build instead of buying copies)

Oky, you're having a lot of fun with that hippie minifig, aren't you? This is like the 3rd or 4th funny with him in it isn't it? All the same, hilarious!

I'm not much of a Friends collector, but I think I might break down and buy that stage, as well as the karate and magic sets. The animal polybags look alright too. A little cutesy, but they'd make alright parts packs if nothing else. Basic parts packs, but parts packs nonetheless. I'm glad I'm not the only one who spotted the guitar in the stage set. Looks quite similar to the custom guitars done by Brickarms/Brick Forge/Whatever silly name you want to call them, but with pastel colors, as is tradition. I guess is anyone wants to make a Lego 80s rock group, this set's a must. :D

This. I wasn't much a fan of the alien designs either. That said, the biggest set was pretty awesome, if a little gimmicky. Mars Mission I only got the smallest set in the line because the rest of the sets looked a little jumbled, though the alien crafts looked impressive. The aliens themselves were repulsive, however.

Post about Cartoons and Anime you like
Amset-Rah replied to Peppermint_M's topic in Culture & Multimedia
Sorry if I'm derailing a discussion already in progress but I might as well throw my hat into the ring about cartoons: I love them. Everything from Walt Disney's Alice Comedies and such of the 20s to now, I like them all, but some of my favorites are Looney Tunes, Popeye, Tom and Jerry, The Jetsons, The Flintstones (To a lesser extent), Tiny Toons, He-Man, Animaniacs, Thundercats (80s series), TMNT (Both the 80s and 2012 series), Regular Show, MLP (Yes, the modern version, but also the 80s G1), The Simpsons, King of the Hill, to name a few. As for superhero shows, my all time favorite was Batman: The Animated Series. Mark Hamill is still my all time favorite Joker (Though Cesar Romero and Jack Nicholson weren't slouches either), and the production quality was top notch. The backstories for the villains were all intricate and sympathetic (Like Mr. Freeze and his wife, for instance) and I actually enjoy it more now than as a kid (Since I can understand more of the writing now than back then). -
Now don't get me wrong, both of them have their positives (SE I got for a cheap price and save for the flimsy bit, it makes a nice swooshable craft and the sound brick in the latter is nice and again, good parts pack), but those are just the first two sets that came to mind.

10937 Batman™ - Arkham Asylum Breakout
Amset-Rah replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
I must have this set. The previous Arkham was cool, but this one is a lot more organized and I like the front gate better. All of these details on the main facade are incredible, and the minifigs do not disappoint. -
Solar Explorer was alright at the time, but the flimsy part was pretty low. Same goes for the Alien Conquest mothership. For what's supposed to be the main imposing ship for the aliens, all we got was a big, bubbling saucer with an outer ring of railroad. I'll admit, it's a great parts pack, but again, for a mothership, I expected a little more, since the ADU easily has them beat in terms of a home base.

Lego Action Themes Photography Thread
Amset-Rah replied to LuxorV's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Glad to see this thread back up and running. I really need to do more Monster Fighter stuff, once I get another set or two (Though I have a few funnies in mind, that is if this thread can be used for funnies as well, not just action shots) -
I like the figures and the drum kit (Especially the new piece holding the crash/ride cymbal), but the price point for the pieces and the brick-built guitar kill it for me. I suppose I could look on Brick Link for the drum kit and figs, as well as a regular guitar (Brick Forge or eBay) for the glam rock girl. Yeah, I think I like the monster set a bit better (It'd be a great addition to my Monster Fighters cemetery), but with some creative engineering, one could convert the Zombies set into a stage for the rock stars (Think Guitar Hero and how they had those wacky sets, one of which was indeed a graveyard)

Lego Haunted House with a twist
Amset-Rah replied to steelwoolghandi's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
Great job with this! I kind of feel like singing the Full House theme now. Anyway, while I like this remodel, I thought the sand green color would work fine as it is, minus the masonry bricks, but that's just me. Good work all around! -
Seems like it could be possible, since didn't the flame in the Ghost Train set have some glow in the dark material molded inside, despite the piece itself being dark trans green?

Great MOC! I love how even the Swamp Creature has his little area to muck around. Nice work on that crypt as well. Funny how you used the CMF vampire rather than Lord Vampyre, and I say funny because I always thought the CMF vampire looked like one of those cheap monster movie hosts from the local TV stations in the past (Like the midnight creature features or late night matinees) This is easily one of my favorite Lego themes in recent years, as there hasn't really been a misstep yet, aside from a few minor gripes (Like the early batch of Swamp Creatures where the mask didn't line up with the printing), and is a theme where I plan on working with for a while (Maybe a mashup with Alien Conquest, since it has sort of a hokey old movie feel with the aliens, much like this theme as a whole)

Lego Action Themes Photography Thread

I was kind of referring to how the dinos looked with the background, but that works too. All the same, they look great. -
Lego Action Themes Photography Thread
Amset-Rah replied to LuxorV's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I was tempted to start this thread myself. I might have to take some Monster Fighters shots later (Similar to that Night of the Living Dead homage I did a few weeks ago) Great pics, BTW. The dinos look so natural there in that environment and the pics are crystal clear. Edit: D'oh! I had a couple of Pharaoh's Quest shots I wanted to share. These were when I first finished the Scorpion Pyramid set and I wanted to take a few pics.
