  1. My apologies if some of you are starting to lose interest. I would love to get the next day up and running, but it is a little hard when I am still waiting on 4 people to send me their night actions. So I'm sorry, you'll just have to keep waiting for the moment, so there! I am quite busy at the moment anyway, and I aim for quality in these games. I was originally going to build the Grand Hall and Kitchen areas, full size, and have lots of little scenes, but you guys want to just keep ploughing on. So be it! I think that in my future games I will have the scenery built before I actually start the game. So, as you can see, it is not I you are waiting for, but the other players to hurry up and get their actions in! So stop bugging me, and start on them! Really, someimes I wonder why I bother! ( ) Dragonator, feeling particularly offended, especially after looking at the price of classic castle minifigs on Bricklink.
  2. I think it's my turn at the moment too, I've been so busy with exams and this Mystery Castle game. Sorry I've not been as active as I would like, but that will change soon I hope.
  3. Update time! To make it easier for you all, the first post of this thread will shortly be updated with an index of all of the various topics relation to Mystery Castle. I am also going to get to work on a banner, I'll keep you posted on that. Thanks once again for playing everyone!
  4. I think what I will do is that you are allowed a maximum of 5 pictures in your entry post. The first picture will be the one that appears in the Voting thread, and will act as a link to your gallery. I love my little castle.
  5. Well I'm in a good mood, so I'll relent on the 3 pictures maximum thing. This isn't a 'competition' or anything, so the rules don't need to be so strict. But no more than 5, that's just getting silly.
  6. I am so excited! Today I finally received a very special set I purchased a few days ago, the 6075 Classic Yellow Castle! What a beauty! This is the re-release of the 375 castle from 1978 for those of you who don't know, and came out in 1981. The instruction booklet is in great condition, as is the box. All the figures are present with pretty good stickers bar one, the blue cavalry man. That will cost me a bit to replace him, looking at Bricklink prices. I am about to start building it, so I don't know for certain, but it appears complete, and even came with a spare visor in red, white and black. The stickers on the main castle appear to be fin other than the shield stickers on the walls which are a bit tatty. The pieces all seem to be in pretty goo condition, which I am very pleased about. In total, the set cost me $100NZD (+$22 in shipping). Definitely not to bad. Once the added price of a replacement minifig is added, it is still cheaper than almost all those listed on Bricklink, and it seems to be in nice condition too. A definite good buy for me, I am very happy indeed! What are you doing Ragnir! Those new people aren't for eating! My bad, they looked tasty.
  7. Well, two things. You can either look around and see if you can find some decals, or you can use alternative pieces. The characters don't have to look the same as those in the actual story, as long as you let us know clearly who they are. Well yes, there is always that option too. Yes, digital entries are allowed if you must, although I would prefer a real-built entry. Remember that it is not I nor Ragnir that will be judging this, but the community. What's a dig-ee-tall entry? Never you mind my fiery friend. Thanks for your questions, I hope I have managed to shed some light on this. I look forward to seeing some entries! May I also point out that I a maximum of 3 pictures is allowed, and that I don't want to be browsing through any mammoth size pictures, no matter how tasty!
  8. That sounds funny to me! Now then, I am in fact a Famen dragon, which in Lego terms is one of the Viking dragons or one built in a similar kind of fashion. However, for the purposes of this challenge, you may use one of the classic dragons, since a proper representation of myself wouldn't fit on a 8x8 square. In this case, the dragons body parts may overhang, although using a dragon will take up a bit of space. Of course, you don't have to do it this way, it could be that your vignette is a part of a larger scene, so perhaps only my head or tail or a leg even is actually in the scene. In this case you would be able to build me however you please! It's up to you really, but those are some ideas to consider. That's fine, you've got plenty of time to do it in.
  9. Fair enough, those dragons can get a little pushy sometimes, but I still love them. Yes, this one covers his tracks very well... Panic. Panic!! Could everyone please send me their night actions soonish please, even if you don't want to use it, I need to know! There, happy now? You would think that they would understand the concept of sending the night actions by now, however some do still forget, which is mildly amusing. Well, if you can build something that would be fantastic, but I'm sure Ragnir wont mind in this case if you can't.
  10. Oh ok, whatever you say, spoil sport. Anyway, it wasn't me, it was the dragon, and I wouldn't mess with his temper... You do not have to build anything if you don't want to, however this is just another part of the fun and I want everyone to take part if they can, otherwise I'll feel that nobody really cares about this game... Remember, Majiko know all... No, that was Day 4. You sure are getting forgetful in your old age.
  11. Players of the Mystery Castle game, I call you now! As part of the on-going fun and games, I, Ragnir the Mighty, have a mini-challenge for you. This is not optional, enter if you wish to live, or cook on my barbecue. For all the original details, please see the last page of the Day 4 thread. Right, this is what you must do. You, the participants, are required to build a vignette (8x8 Lego Square) depicting a scene from the game. It can be one that has already featured or something you want to see in the game. Make it funny, because we dragons love having a good laugh. The vignettes are to be completed and posted in the entries thread by the 27th of July, which gives you plenty of time. After this, a poll will be made and the community will vote for their favourite! Any one who doesn't enter will be severely booed. There are only a few guidelines; I trust your common sense. 1. Custom pieces/decals/paper costumes are all allowed, just no clone bricks. 2. There are to be no structural overhangs, however you may of course have the odd weapon, body part, or plant etc hanging over a little. This is up to your discretion, however I will tell you if something is inappropriate. Just don't cheat by sticking a 16x16 plate on top! 3. There is no height limit. 4. This challenge is only open to Mystery Castle players (current and deceased if they also want to join in the fun). Yes this is biased; live with it! 5. Digital entries are allowed in extreme circumstances. 6. A maximum of 5 pictures are allowed. In no way shape or form is this an official 'contest', it is instead part of the festivities of Mystery Castle! Entries are to be posted here. Voting will last for a full week and then the winner will be featured in the following day (as long as the traitors haven't won by then. ). I may also sort out something else too, so stay tuned, but don't get your hopes up. If you have any questions, Lord Dragonator and I would be happy to help. Good luck everyone, and have fun! Ragnir the
  12. Opps, sorry, I missed your question. Technically yes, as the voting has finished. Could all discussion of the mini-challenge (and anything else) please now be kept to the discussion thread. Thanks very much everyone, and thanks for taking part. Despite this day ending extremely early, there will still be the usual gap before the next one starts, sorry. That's what happens when you jump straight to the voting. Now, go work on those vigs!
  13. He ruined my desert surprise... Right, while he sulks, I'll answer your questions and- No! It's my challenge, I'll answer the questions. Ok, ok. Right, here we go: 1. All custom pieces (eg. BrickForge), decals etc are allowed (yes that includes paper). However, no clone bricks. 2. I sadly have no custom decals, and wouldn't know where to start if I wanted to make some anyway. It's something I'd like to try sometime, just not right now... 3. Dragons sadly aren't to good at manipulating small pieces of plastic with their claws. As the host, I want this to be a challenge for you all! Lord Dragonator might enter... With all the other things I've got to do? No, I don't think so. Anyway, my entry is in the first post (Day 1). Good point, you made that lovely and suspiciously accurate depiction of the kings death didn't you? Ah, yes. Right, so the answer is that I want you to show me what you can do! Meanwhile, our great and mighty game master will be working on the next scene. 4. Ah, yes, of course... 5. Perhaps that is a good idea... You win my love. I was thinking of perhaps having a prize. The prize is that you don't die. Seriously though, it would be nice to have a proper prize, but what could it be? I don't know. Perhaps the prize is the fun and enjoyment you get from playing with your Lego and making an awesome vignette? Oh, I've figured it out! The prize is that you get to be the winner of the Mystery Castle Building Challenge, and your vignette will also feature in the story. How about that? Perhaps I might even be able to arrange a little trophy icon or something with an admin, but don't get your hopes up...
  14. Hey look, it's me! Wait, it's three of me. That's creepy. And why am I dressed like that? This is some nice work WhiteFang! You have included some neat details and it seems to fit the new castle theme well. Thanks for sharing!
  15. You'll never take me alive! Never I tell you! Majiko jumps over a puking guard and bolts through into the kitchen. Slamming the door. Faintly, his voice can be heard. Lunch is almost ready! That Byron is a suspicious character, don't trust him people, he's evil I tell you, EVIL!! What a mess of a day. Everyone seems to be making decisions, and already Calvin has been condemned. And it's only just after morning gore! Commonly called morning tea, but yes. Lets have a review of the voting shall we? Good idea! Current voting is as follows: Atoll Dweller (Calvin the Fisherman): 10 The required votes are 8 for a majority. There for Calvin shall be convicted as of now. Excellent! Kyle, take him away! Kyle? Where are you kyle? Gah, If you want something done you have to do it yourself, from washing your under-garments to killing the king. You didn't... Your right, I was kidding, but think what a plot twist that would be... As Lord Dragonator led the unhappy fishman away, a note from the game master was heard over the loudspeakers. What loudspeakers? Ummm, that wasn't for your ears, only the audience. That makes no sense. I know! I have noticed a few things that need to be sorted now. There is to be NO editing of posts for any reason, even grammar (except for me of course. Bow before my great and almighty power! ). If I see anyone doing that again they will be severely beaten. Your face looks like a butt I don't like the way he said that... Neither do I. How did you get back here so fast? I took the elevator. I don't even want to know... Well this is boring, the day has barely started and we've already convicted someone. What shall we do now? How about a mini-challenge? A good idea, I'll go sort out Lunch and calm down Majiko, while you explain what's going to happen. Dragonator walks off towards the kitchens, while Ragnir looks at the people. Right, now I have a miniature challenge to put to you all. What, you thought this game was just going to be about typing? OH no, not at all. I want you to put your various talents towards something constructive while we await the next day. This is your challenge: Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls, welcome to another night on channel D! What an exciting name, I wonder who made that up? Silence in the audience please! As you are aware, a fun and exciting new game show, in which the competitors are entirely unaware that they are only playing a game, has been featuring on this station. Tonight, these competitors are once again going to square off in a Lego building contest! That's right, their miniature challenge is to build a scene from the Mystery Castle game show! What fun! I tell you, I won't be drawn into no mini competitions nor... hey, Lego! I had that as a kid! Count me in! Majiko drops the large spoon he was stirring a bubbling green soup with and rushes out into the hall. OK people, this is what you have to do. I want you to build me a vignette (8x8 Lego square) of a sceen from this game! It can either be a scene that has actually happened or a comical scene that you would like to see happen. The usual rules apply for vig building; it must be contained within the square and can be as tall as you like. Overhanging plants or weapons or body parts are for your discretion, but please be reasonable, no cheating! These vignettes are to be completed by the end of Day 6, so that gives you 18 days or so. A separate thread will be made for these entries, and the best one will be voted for by the community. Sounds fun? Good! Oh yes, and you must enter, otherwise I'll flame you and eat you. With a few drops of BBQ sauce of course. (I am deadly serious...) Have fun, and do your best! I am happy to answer any questions, just don't take up to much of my time with silly ones, otherwise I will get angry. The commercial fades, and a view of the Grand Hall appears. Well that was interest, if a little weird, but whatever it was, do as the dragon says! Dragons must be obeyed, on pain of death. :skull: I want to enter, can I? Please? I'm not sure if your allowed, sorry... Oh... Perhaps I'll just go back to my cooking then...
  16. Majiko is distrated by the large talking chicken leg beside him. Chicken... What? Oh, magic? Hmmm, not usually the best idea. You can't just create the food, and last time I tried to create a roast turkey dinner out of a few pieces of dried leather and some string (also a small coin, but who really cares?), things went horribly wrong. Let's just say that we better not try it, I don't want any rampaging vegetables terrorizing the locals... Majiko looks down at the stuffing, and then back to Byron, very thoughtful. You know, I still have some stuffing left... Do you want a try? I'll be gentle... Byron backs away in horror. I was joking. I think. Who wrote these lines? Ummm, that was me. Who are you? Staudie at your service. I was fired from the host position, so I thought I'd try my hand at script writing. Ahhh!!! You again! I've already fired you once. Out I tell you! Bangs and crashes are heard off stage, as well as the occasional squawk. So... about that stuffing...
  17. Now just hold still you stupid thing while I ram this in... hang on... Much grunting and braying is heard. Byron enters to see Majiko with his arm up the goats... ummm, is this script meant to be for a restricted audience? This is an adult site, I'm sure they wont mind. Yes but this is pretty... disturbing. Just read it! No no, I'll move on to the next bit. Ahem. A look of horror passed across Byron's face.[/i] What? Isn't the stuffing always done from behind?
  18. That is such a beautiful chess set! I would love to build one like that! Such detail, it is astounding! Nice work! I love the little details such as the baby dragons on the black throne and the various different weapons. It is also nice to see that some of the pawns are unique. The details on the towers are of particular note. Really impressive, well done indeed.
  19. No, not happening, I put my hand up first. Well, at least after Mike, but he stole my position as chef, and he paid for it, oh yes he did... Why are you looking at me like that? I didn't kill him, it was a joke! Majiko quickly leaves and then re-enters with a large trolley on which are a number of steaming plates. May I present to you, Breakfast! Eat up everyone! Today I have made for you one of my specialities; bacon, with fried eggs and topped with grated oysters! And I also threw in some potatoes since we had so many, with a special red-wine jus! The wizard places a plate in front of each person. Upon them are a few strips of soggy bacon, a green egg, weird blobs of screaming oyster, and a pile of well browned potatoes that looke very appealing, if the red 'sauce' that accompanied them could be ignored. Majiko then proceeded to help each and every person eat their food, forcing it down some peoples' throats if necessary. Eat up people, get some hearty fare into you! How can you expect to find the traitors on an empty stomach? A few minutes later there was a made rush for the lavatories, with people fighting to get inside. Never in my life have I seen so many people eager to do some exercise. I'll go get to work on lunch! Majiko wandered towards the kitchen, thinking of intesting new ways he might be able to combine the food...
  20. IMPORTANT: If you are not a participant in the game, then please do not post in the game. These threads are reserved for players only. The events of the previous day resulted with the conviction of Lord Ash. The people of the Keep went to their beds, awaiting the execution the following day. However not everyone had gone to bed. Mike had stayed behind in his new role as chef to clean up outside. It was not until that morning that his dead body was discovered outside, within metres of where Daniel had been killed the previous night. From his wounds, it appeared that he had been attacked from behind and stabbed with a sword. Also, a small piece of yellow fabric with a black strip along one edge was found nearby. These events certainly put a spark of fear into the people in the morning, however most were just happy to still be alive. Not long after everyone was awake, Lord Ash was taken outside and hung. Trumpets were sounded and the usual ceremonies took place. After the execution, Lord Ash was cut down and inspected. From numerous notes found in his rooms, it was discovered that he was a traitor. Finally, the people had made a correct decision. Lord Dragonator was thrilled. However there was still the matter of Mike. After inspecting the body and Mike’s rooms, it was found that he was a loyalist. This dampened the festivities somewhat, as there were most definitely still some traitors out there. The people gathered in the Grand Hall, intent on finding the other traitors… General Marcus arrived late, and it was noted that he had a large dent in his helmet and wasn’t walking very straight. General Spencer also arrived a little late, looking particularly tired. Last to arrive were the Friar and Rotrigous, who had walked very slowly over from the chapel, due to the Friars wounded foot. Thanks once again for choosing to play. If you have any questions, feel free to PM me. If you need to review the rules, then these can be found in the introduction thread (link in my signature). 21. Ah yes, a good idea, I can think of one person nearby who might be interested in this baby. Usually postage to NZ for S@H is around 80NZD ( ) for the larger sets, but hopefully this isn't quite that much. Out of interest, if you pre-order now, are you required to pay in advance, or do you have an option to pay later?
  22. Patience my eager friend, all will be revealed in time. These things take a while to organise and I am particularly busy right now.
  23. As has been the rules so far, Day 4 will appear exactly 2 days (approx. ) after the finish of the previous day, as long as the previous day ran for its full length.
  24. A nice idea, although not a likely one. Dwarfs and dragons are just to different. For millennia there has been conflict between these two races; the past cannot be easily forgotten by those with long memories. And besides, dwarfs keep stealing all the gold that rightfully belongs to dragons.
  25. It's all mine! With a price like that, I should go order it right now! Except then there's the shipping costs... To bad there isn't a free shipping option.
