EB Xmas Raffle 2014 - Your Ideal Christmas Gift entry thread
brickie replied to CopMike's topic in Special LEGO Themes
All I want for Christmas is to have this photo taken on Christmas morning; 6 beautiful grandchildren with grandad. -
Thanks Lady and legozebra for the kind comments. What a wonderful weekend of playing and showing LEGO. BrisBricks had 11000+ people at the Expo and I think half of them tried the Chima courses. In fact one boy stayed all day trying to get the speedorz into the Lake of Chi. Just before closing time, I gave him a Chima prize for trying so hard. The brickbuilt course performed better than I expected. The two rings of fire remained unbroken but the animals and plants were constantly moving position; easily fixed. The second course with the motorised vines was very hard for most people. In the photo you can see the design; I used a 9v red mini motor and a PF rechargeable battery so I could set the speed. All in all, the 3 courses proved to be a challenge for all who tried. I gave away 18 prizes for getting the speedorz into the Lake on the brickbuilt course. The smiles and laughter made all the building worthwhile.

Zblj, most of the tall structures have been built to withstand a speeding speedorz. I think that there will be a lot of re-positioning of trees and animals. The vines in the swamp are great as they are held firmly into the ground and are very flexible when hit. I have my fingers crossed that it all doesn't disintegrate when a strong young teen lets fly with a speedorz.

Thanks DarthBrickus, It was designed to be difficult. We will have 3 Chima courses there. The first will be a simple jump and hit the wolf target [as per set 70107]. The second will be through the swinging vines [70109] and then jump into a nest. Unfortunately I have motorised the swinging vines so only a few will make it through. If you are able to complete these tasks, then you will have a turn at the near impossible task. Lots of fun ahead.

The valley of flames. The jump across the swamp The lion temple; the lake of Chi is in the mouth

Ever since I first pulled the rip cord on a speedorz, I have wanted to build a brick-built obstacle course to test the driver. Finished it! The task is to get the Speedorz across the narrow bridge above the fire, through the two flaming hoops, jump across the swamp and land in the Lake of Chi. It's pretty easy; I can get it in once every 4231 attempts. I wonder how many will get it in the Lake of Chi at the Brisbane LEGO Fan Expo at Chandler on the weekend 4-6 Oct?

hollisbrick, Brisbricks have 2 major shows each year; in June and October. As well as great displays, there are a variety of retailers at the Expos where you can compare prices for new and old sets and minifigs, etc. Check out BrisBricks on facebook. -

jonwil, you will have to come to the BrisBricks LEGO fan Expo at Chandler in Brisbane on OCT 4-6 and have your set signed by Brent. You'll also be able to see how the car evolved from Brent's childhood creation to his Cuusoo project and now into he final set. Will the puft marshmallow man be next to make it as a set? -
Applications are open for you to display at the Brisbane LEGO Fan Expo at Chandler between 4-6 Oct [ set up on Friday 3rd ]. Details may be found at http://www.brisbricks.org/events/exhibitor-enquiries/ We would love to hear from you.

Brixhibition Devonport 2014 Photos

Paul, the displays look great and there certainly was a good crowd. Well done! I love the round tower. -
Thanks for the comments. The hull is from the Harry Potter ship as it is much wider than the pirate ships. I am not a ship builder so I went with the hull the way it was. I can rationale this as in Genesis, Noah was told to build the Ark and use pitch; I guess he used a bit too much on the bow and covered the wood to make it black.

An easy solution to moving a 48x48 base MOC is to take a removal box, tape both ends and then cut it in half. You will find that a big baseplate will fit inside and still give you room to have your hands to lift it in and out. If you were cleaver, then you could make a lid for it. -

Well done; it looks like you had a lot of fun. -
I believe that it is due for release in early June. Whether this is worldwide, I am not sure.

The members of BrisBricks are all hoping that we will be able to have WetWired show off the SPMM at our Pine Rivers Expo in early June. Personally, I am looking forward to seeing this in the flesh against the fire station and with the car in the front. If WetWired brings this to the Expo, it will certainly be a huge crowd pleaser. It certainly has attracted my vote; I wonder what other minifigs he has in mind?

Tim, greetings from BrisBricks. It was great to meet you in Melbourne in January. It is great to hear that your group is organising BRICKtopia. We have a number of commitments up here in May so I wish you all the best with this endeavour. Play well and don't drop any more cars.- 4 replies

I believe that this is fantastic. Having lived through the excitement of that day in 1969 when Armstrong walked on the moon, this MOC captures the blurry images that we saw on our B&W televisions and our B&W newspaper photos. Whilst I have no affinity for bionicles or hero factories, this model is different in that it represents something that is real. A brilliant build and I would urge all Eurobrick members to support it on Cussoo.

I have mixed emotions as a result of this post. Firstly, it gave me a challenge to follow your great instructions and try it for myself. It has taken me all afternoon to complete the pieces even though I was 'shoved aside' by my 8 year old grandson who was adamant that he was going to finish it and solve the puzzle. Secondly, once all the pieces were finished, it was great challenge to fit them all together. I know that a certain Grade 3 teacher will be given a challenge on Monday morning. Well done! You are to be congratulated on such a fantastic build.

Very impressive. Would it be possible to see a close up of how you have converted a power pick-up to fit with Lego?
