[CONTEST] Infamous Steve - Creative Critic Voting - Closed

I cast my vote for @Math Wizard. I really enjoy the piratey language used in their responses. -
Thanks! I wish I had long enough tiles to cover up the sides but unfortunately that long grey plate is required to hold the floor in. I ran really low on light grey building this which is why I made the basement wall rotten! That armless torso is the pirate from vidiyo, which already had the arms removed. I might try and find an armless classic pirate on Bricklink and replace him in the future but I was a bit afraid to pull the arms off any of my personal pirate minifigures (whom I love dearly!) Thank you! Thank you! I was inspired by set 40715 to do some kind of brick built monster in the lowest dungeon. The monsters kept getting cuter and simpler each version until I ended up with the slimes. I also really like fantasy and castle so its definitely a bit of mixing going on here. Happy sails!

I had no clue lego made an iguana. I really love that little boat with the rolled up sail. -
[ENTRY][SMALL] Infant Steve Recruited As Royal Spy

This is so funny, I love the idea! -
Thank you! Thanks! Unfortunately I did not have enough parts to make every floor like the top one. Thanks! I will try to do some blood in my next build.

Ahoy mateys! Have ye ever lost of a hand in battle? Steve has you covered at his Grand Hand Emporium! Steve has hands for all price points including collectors edition hands that once belonged to mighty pirates of yore. What's that? You want to know where Steve gets his hands from? Never mind the little details, take a look at our overflowing shelves and all concerns will melt away! The upside down lantern is genius! -
I love this! The clouds and colors in the sky look so good. And that tiny palm tree way in the background completes the whole scene, it's perfect!

Wow! This design is stunning. The use of curved slopes for the boat hull looks so good. I also love all the pearl gold. If it were up to me every seafaring vessel would have a golden chicken as its figurehead.

I recently got back into trains with set 60197 and I was thinking about how else I could use the powered up components. As a child I always drooled over the My Own Train section of the catalogue, and I thought since maybe I could build my own with a battery tender instead of 9v. This prototype extends the coal tender so that the battery box can we held low in the center and maintain the same height as the original. My only concern is it may have a hard time going around turns now with a wide wheelbase. I guess I will find out when I can order extra train wheels from PAB! I couldnt figure out how to attach these images so here are the links sorry about that! https://imgur.com/6yIoljv https://imgur.com/XJTX8Ot https://imgur.com/kuWdcie

I love how the sails look like a tablecloth. So creative!!!

I love those glass bottles!

You may have some luck getting one if you have a lego store nearby. Mine had a bunch of scary islands still available yesterday. They also had a few older gwp for sale like the blacktron cruiser!
-
Wow I had no clue these replicas existed! When you're done would you be willing to share the studio file? I wonder how this would look with string rigging instead of the ridged lego ones.
-
I think with Aliexpress its hard to know what you're actually getting. It would be nice to see if you could buy just the hull parts without needing to purchase the entire set. you could also brick build your hull. 31109 is only one stud wider than the old small hulls so I bet some creative tinkering you could get it a bit smaller and still looking good!

I really like how those angles come together at the rear! Are you planning to make your own sails for this?

Thanks to everyone who organized this contest! I used to check this website when I a wee lad and I remember having a blast looking through the wonderful entries for the pillage the village contest. I decided to check back in when the new Eldorado Fortress was announced to see if there was a review and I found the contest, which I could not resist entering! I apologize that my entry was outside of the rules, I did not realize there was a certain style needed to be maintained to be considered a remake, I just kinda winged it until I was happy with it. On another note, I think that banning digital designs would be a mistake. Lego is an expensive hobby and I'm sure that not everyone has a huge collection of parts that they can just pull from on a whim; many of the entries that I voted for were digital and I am glad to have seen them! I also enjoyed a lot of mini entries and seeing what they were able to do with so few pieces. If there were another contest I think a mini build contest would be a real hoot. Thanks again!

Wow that big gun is slick! I really like the fez part at the end.
