  1. Hear me out. A minifigure-sized Thing would be much more compatible with a Fantasticar set than a macrofigure. I'd absolutely be down with Force ghosts, Human Torch, and Green Lantern done that way!
  2. The original post ultimately boils down to "Lego isn't making the sets I personally think they should make, therefore I deem their line a failure." I've encountered this mentality time and time again in both the Star Wars and the Transformers fandoms and, in all fairness, it's quite understandable. When you're a big fan of a genre, you hunger for your dream items. It's as simple as that. Shoot, I've lost track of the number of times I've expressed my deep desire for macrofigures of Abomination, Juggernaut, and Rhino. That said, such a mentality is wrong in the face of reality. And the reality, unless someone can provides numbers that show otherwise, is that the Super Heroes line is selling very well. Everyone is free to feel that Lego is passing over certain opportunities, but that doesn't mean they're doing it all wrong.
  3. I think when Lego designs its Super Hero sets, they ask themselves what would have the widest appeal and therefore the most potential to sell well. Agents of SHIELD may have a devoted fanbase, but it's not a breakaway hit. And it's definitely not a show aimed at children. Similarly, Thor: The Dark World was very grim and foreboding and frankly not the most fun Marvel film. I think Lego's been very smart with their Marvel sets. As a comic fan, I much prefer my minifigures be based on that source material, but I'll take either or. I have no doubt we'll see some exciting stuff for 2015. As for DC, I've always agreed that there's an overabundance of Batman, but if that's what it takes to eventually get us a retail Green Lantern or Darkseid or Supergirl or Brainiac, so be it. And shoot, I'd buy a Bat-Mech if they made one. Does anyone have any reliable information as to how well the Super Hero sets are selling these days?
  4. What do you think is the feasibility of an Invisible Woman minifigure that's partially transparent, including her hand? Also, am I the only one who would rather have a minifigure-sized Thing rather than a macrofigure? And yes, Civil War would probably not translate well to a mainstream audience. Better that they do the Infinity Gauntlet.
  5. Have I mentioned how much I hate prisons that are wide open from the back? Shredder is so gorgeous. And I'd like to get my hands on that add-on torso so I can finally make a four-armed Lord Garmadon. But I really don't have the space or the budget for more TMNT. How much does this set cost anyway?
  6. Oh yes, Lab Smash is great. Love MODOK, Taskmaster, and Falcon. I do wish the holding cell had been better designed though. Those huge gaps in the floor and the ceiling make escape a snap.
  7. So I bit the bullet today and got the Spider-Trile vs Electro set. The vehicle really is as lame as everyone else says it is. Spidey's hover bike at least has the benefit of flight, but this thing is just plain useless. Ugly too. I'll probably give it away to a friend's kid. I really like Electro though.
  8. I'd love a set consisting of Thanos, the Thanoscopter, and Squirrel Girl.
  9. At this point, there's really not a whole lot left to discuss with regard to the sets currently out in stores. Everyone here who really wanted them probably bought them, built them, played with them, reviewed them in some cases, and then added them to the display. Come spring when clear photos GOTG sets begin appearing online, there'll be plenty of fervent set discussion going on again.
  10. The Hulk soundly and brutally defeated nearly every superhero on the planet during World War Hulk. Dr. Strange? Crushed his hands and pounded the crap out his demonic form. The Fantastic Four? Burnt out Torch and Sue's powers and pounded the tar out of Reed and Ben. The Avengers? Pow, pow, pow. And Iron Man in the biggest Hulkbuster armor ever? Trashed like a tin can.
  11. Hulk is hands down my favorite figure. I prefer the brown pants version over the purple too. Least favorite would have to be Aldrich Killen/Mandarin. He looks ridiculous in that beige suit. Now if he'd been done with a bare chest and tattoos, he may have been acceptable.
  12. I think I'd like to see Doomsday more than any other DC villain. He'd be a sweet macrofigure. Second up would be Darkseid, followed by Brainiac. Also, a Bat-Mech would be silly, but fun.
  13. Doesn't matter how much bigger or more poseable the potential Hulkbuster is. Hulk will still smash it. Hulk always beats the Hulkbuster.
  14. I read the comics too, thank you very much. Your condescending attitude towards other people in this thread really isn't appreciated. I simply don't care that much about the perceived lack of 100% accuracy in Cyclops' attire. It's more close enough to what he was wearing up until recently to pass. And for the record, I like it better than the Jim Lee version.
  15. This is what's called splitting hairs. Cyclops is wearing what he is wearing. Accept it.
  16. Because that's the uniform he switched back to. He's been wearing that for years now.
  17. Cyclops hasn't worn that outfit in years though.
  18. Wouldn't it be wonderful if Bruce Timm's Justice League series was just debuting now? Oh well. I'm still a Marvel fan first and foremost.
  19. As long as Hollywood keeps churning out Marvel blockbusters and DC so-so's, Lego will likely continue to produce sets. I really can't wait to see what 2015 will bring. I'm betting that Ultron will reuse the limbs from last year's Darth Maul minifigure in order to give him a more inhuman appearance. I've accepted that DC will continue to be 95% Batman and 5% special guest heroes. That's just the way it is, I guess. If it means eventually getting Green Lantern, Supergirl, Black Canary, Atom, etc, then yay. Perhaps even a special Superman set where he's fighting a macrofigure Doomsday. And as always, I continue to hold out hope for Abomination, Juggernaut, and Rhino. :) Kraven, Scorpion, and Mysterio all sound good too. Not to mention Baron Zemo, Kang the Conqueror, Enchantress, Carnage, Vulture, Leader, and Absorbing Man.
  20. You'd be surprised what today's kids know, Luna. I'm an elementary teacher and I can tell you a lot of them know their comic characters down pat. Deadpool is particularly popular. And they definitely know who Two-Face is.
  21. Yes, but Ralph will be especially so.
  22. Ralph is going to be insanely popular.
  23. Which brings up my next question: how expensive are translucent parts compared to regular ones?
  24. Got my Hulk Lab Smash and Martian Manhunter today! My Pick-A-Brick order should be arriving later this month. Really loving MM, especially his unique shade of green. But for Pete's sake, Lego, give us a retail Green Lantern already! Pack him in with say, the Bat-Mech or the Bat-Tank or even the Bat-Sub! On that note, what kind of ring-generated accessory would be good for GL? A giant handheld cannon?
