Ok the Batmobile’s flip-up guns function in such a small set is dope. Also has the flame attachment. Better than the GWP in every way -

I think I’m the only one who loves this set I’m hoping it bombs so I can grab it on sale! -

The skiff would just have the generic figures though, luke han Chewbacca boba and a thug. So all the obscure figures would come with the barge anyways. Now that I’m thinking about it there’s no way it doesn’t include the skiff because you can’t sell a set with all those key characters missing lol. -

18+ set vs playset. Play set will likely be bigger, have stud shooters, more functionality at the expense of detail, etc. -

Where is my Battle of Endor MBS set, Lego? On a serious note, I wonder what will be replacing the Cantina next year. It’s been very successful, considering it’ll have a 4! year run, so it only makes sense for them to put out a spiritual successor. I hope the Sail Barge isn’t Lego’s idea of an MBS set, you have more iconic scenes taking place on the skiff next to the Barge -

I wouldn’t compare this batcave to the BP or Hulkbuster, those just look bad without price or space considerations. The batcave looks superb, it just allocates what feels like half its budget on a container for the interior. -

Hm so perhaps the batwing is an accessory purchase then. $450 isn’t enough -

It looks like the exhaust pipes are in black rather than they grey barrels on the GWP. Also the fins look a bit beefier which I prefer to the giant wing piece the GWP uses. But now I’m confused as to whether this Batmobile is actually part of the set or if it’s the standalone Batmobile releasing this summer combined with the bat cave. Missing from the box art is the rumored Batwing, as well. Very odd. -

As an owner of 40433, the Batmobile pictured in the leak is far more accurate. -

Play vs Display. This Batmobile is in an 18+ set, looks compact and well detailed (it’s smaller than the GWP Batmobile from 2019), possibly fragile by playset standards. Kid’s vehicles tend to be a bit oversized if they’re minifig scale and more sturdy but less accurate. I’m curious about the lack of a Batwing though, or even space to store a Batwing. Were the rumors just wrong? -

Makes sense. Although now the Jabba’s Palace diorama releasing next year alongside the barge makes even more sense -

Is the buildable Chewbacca an 18+ set? I have a very hard time seeing a market where a $200 Lego sculpture of a character is a hit with kids -

Lego is primarily a children’s toy, hence the inaccuracies or omissions or misrepresentations, which is why I forgive them, but it’s strange you would critique YouTubers for the creative ways they assemble armies using a toy you admit is inaccurate to begin with. Sometimes stacking a million clones on a baseplate is just fun to look at, and that’s all it has to be -

Yeah, but again my two points are: 1. Lego doesn’t consistently label troops according to their ranks according to extraneous canon lore, the two sandtroopers in the current cantina set being a prime example 2. These ranks and organizations are not reflected in media as I proved using the New Hope example. It’s an external piece of writing which, yes, is “canon”, but is made moot by the fact that when George Lucas was making Star Wars films he sure as heck didn’t care about accurately demonstrating platoons and companies. And since the 501st specialists are literally marked as “heavies” and “snipers”, non-canonically transforming them into sergeants and lieutenants etc seems out of sync with your original point of basing army organization on canonical materials. Like you’re following the numbers for squads and platoons etc in the canon references but you’re not using the right troops, visually. Which makes it not canon. Which brings us back full circle lol, it’s your head canon, which makes it as “valid” as Solid Brix studios’ definition of an army. -

imo you do you but I personally think it’s silly to army build according to real-life army organization standards when these rules are NOT followed on screen at all, and especially when Lego doesn’t go out of their way to even properly label/include the necessary ranks. An orange pauldron sand trooper is a lieutenant while a white pauldron trooper is a sergeant and a black pauldron trooper is a regular enlisted trooper. These have never been labeled in Lego form, and when these troopers appear on screen during a New Hope, they appear in relatively equal amounts, which doesn’t make any sense if you’re viewing it from the standpoint of army organization. -

There isn’t even an x wing available every single year, don’t get your hopes up. The 501st are nowhere near as iconic as you’re making them out to be, and I say this as a prequel lover. The best way I’ve seen it done is on the 2019 Tantive, where the satellite doubled as a carry handle. The most recent AT-TE on the other hand is what I expect, not obtrusive, but still ugly and occupying space that should be filled in with other details. -

No, we had the 501st battle pack for three years, if you want more, turn to bricklink or eBay or Amazon. I wanna see the new gunship and ghost bad too. I usually don’t get playsets because of how primitive/compromised their designs are compared to the display sets, but a minifig scale gunship would be amazing, IF it looks good. I hope they don’t ruin it with a carry handle sticking out like a sore thumb -

That is not how toy production works I’m quite tired of the 501st as well, the specialist pack is not army buildable and they are less desirable to me than a new legion would be. Hopefully this means no more 501st going forward though -

Having the tie interceptor in hand now I can say I’m a little disappointed Lego still can’t figure out how to make spherical cockpits. It uses so many curved pieces and yet from a distance still looks like a square. The bomber is still the most accurately shaped tie (next to the UCS) -

Limited quantity GWPs are fair but as I said, last year’s homestead was in stock for a while and this year’s offerings are much less desirable and exclusive. As for retails sets. Sure, you won’t be able to pay overpriced MSRP for a shiny new set on day one…oh no? -

Why are people so adamant on buying things at midnight as if they won’t be in stock for at least 2-3 days?
