  1. The designer didn’t choose the wrong planet. It’s a movie colorway AT-TE and it has the 212th. The reason there’s discrepancies here and there with crab or spider droid is because it’s a simple kid’s set, not a collector’s display model where such nuances are usually researched. It’s also why the commercial of the toy shows Geonosis
  2. The lack of red markings on top make it a set based on the movies
  3. Very lenient review imo. For kids, I imagine they’ll have fun spinning the wings to their hearts content. For adults, it’s not an acceptable display model. No detail on the underside, clumsy curve of the wings due to the model being too small, a cockpit that only fits one figure, stickers in place of obvious brick-built options, zero detail captured along the ridge of the wings, etc.
  4. Naboo guard would make sense for the scene and would be a perfect tie-in for the 25th anniversary of TPM and LSW
  5. Hopefully to complement a UCS AT-TE a la snowtrooper battlepack/AT-AT
  6. Like others have said, I’ve mainly moved on from playsets. I’m only interested in the adult Star Wars sets because there seems to be a huge divide in the quality of playsets and display sets, almost as if there’s no middle ground like you’d see in other themes where, yes, it’s a 12+ set, but the design isn’t compromised significantly to accommodate children. With Star Wars, the play sets look like crap and often times the concessions aren’t worth it. The gunship is a perfect example of this, I love the prequels and clone wars, I SHOULD be excited for this set, but the final product just looks atrocious for the sake of being a toy with less playability than the $100 Galaxy Explorer, and that is an “adult” set!
  7. The “no ahsoka sets” was a red flag for me. Fan requests for Thrawn have to be at least as popular as fan requests for Gideon
  8. “Just wait until you all find out who does come in 75388.” is as clickbaity as can be. It’s not cryptic, there’s nothing to decipher, which is why the conversation derailed to this point where we’re talking about literal blue curtains.
  9. I personally find the tabloid style leaks “you guys won’t believe this upcoming set/minifigure!” with no hints or direction to be annoying and not conducive to a productive discussion
  10. At $160 they could do a dinky 8+ yavin repeat, or an attractive 18+ set a la hogwarts
  11. Hope yaddle is just an anni figure, that’s not even remotely what comes to mind when I think Jedi Temple
  12. Haven’t seen anyone else credible confirm this rumor and it’s been flying around for a few hours now
  13. Funny because there’s hardly any room in the gunship to store them Forgot to mention this, yes an AAT would make total sense as well.
  14. By anniversary sets I mean sets that are par-for-the-course remakes. An MTT, an ARC-170, a Snowspeeder, a Y-wing etc I could all see happening. We never get years without OT/PT sets and considering it is an anniversary year I’d expect a few especially from TPM, namely the MTT which would pair well with the droid/clone superpack
  15. I’d imagine the residual Ahsoka sets featuring thrawn, ezra, enoch, and night troopers would take priority over Andor. I don’t see too much room considering we also need room for “25th anniversary” sets likely from the first six films
  16. Oh man I didn’t see that, that’s actually amazing I take it all back
  17. Yuck that’s a lousy fig selection, Paz was already in a cheap set, and people want Beskar clones much more than TLJ Praetorian knockoffs
  18. Down to personal opinion, I love the stormtrooper helmets and I think they’re stylized well, it’s a Lego toy after all. The extra details compensate for the proportions for me. Either way, I see this happening as Lego would have an excuse to re-release clones yet again in the near future. After this mega battle pack, the only legions they can reasonably do are Wolf Pack and maybe 327th. When they do the 41st I hope they use the superb scout helmet as a base.
  19. Yup, the plain white phase II clone looks like a plain white phase II clone. imo Lego needs to give clones the treatment they gave stormtroopers and especially scout troopers with dual-moulded helmets.
  20. I’m sure the Star Wars license had something to do with it, but also one is a children’s set and the other is an 18+ display model.
  21. Acquiring 501st regs from the aftermarket is infinitely more prudent than buying multiples of a set in which half the figures are not army buildable. Acquiring 501st regs by combing two army buildable battle packs is more prudent than buying multiples of a set in which half the figures are not army buildable. The people who army build in any significant numbers are certainly third market savvy and Lego should prioritize figure diversity, not quantity.
  22. This is a very valid point. Lego adding generic 501st to the Speeder Escape set would introduce zero new clone elements, you can make your own regs by combining two of the helmets from the current 501st bp with two of the bodies of the 332nd bp and you have extra clones left over for just $5 more than the Speeder Escape set. Republic commandos would be a great alternative and still preserve the conflict.
  23. I think this one definitely comes with an anniversary figure. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Beq, Grogu, two troopers of some kind, plus a fifth. Lego prices Star Wars figures at around $4, so that would leave $10 for the speeder and side car which is still rather expansive. I’m just tired of the 501st, if Lego wants to keep pumping out clones, give us Wolfpack, 41st, Phase 1.
  24. Naboo guards would be ideal, what other set would they release in in the near future? A set doesn’t need antagonists, sets like the Snub fighter and Coruscant Guard Gunship don’t have conflicting factions.
  25. It makes no sense to re-release 501st regs when they JUST retired after being on shelves for three years. No business sense. Waste of precious fig slots.
