  1. Looks good, I thought it looked a bit chunky but comparing to the movie model reveals it’s actually more accurate than most play models emulate
  2. How many coruscant gunships would you guys plan on getting, if at all? Would that number be different if it was a plain gunship? As a fun side, what’s the highest number of a single set you’ve gotten before, and what was it? Excluding battle packs.
  3. Well they’ve knocked out 3 of the 5 clone commanders (Cody, now Fox and Rex) in the recent Lego Castaways, the remaining two are Gree and Wolffe. So fingers crossed for next year
  4. How would you organize a 501st army around the new specialist clones? Would they get their own squads or would they be incorporated into the plain 501st squads?
  5. I’d bet on DSII, a plain sphere would be boring
  6. Oh man this is my dream UCS set by far, and I gotta say after the Venator it’s much more likely, but I’m still doubtful. I mean there’s not even a single droid playset on the market right now!
  7. I got the inspiration from someone displaying their stormtrooper army beneath the ISD, it looks great
  8. I’ve been wondering where to put my 501st army (super jealous that the snow troopers get their own AT-AT but the 501st have no vehicles to store them) but now I can line them up under the shadow of the Venator, alongside the 332nd.
  9. My source for 144 is Star Wars fandom. Also that quote from Anakin doesn’t state “half”, it only states “divide” which doesn’t imply dividing by half
  10. Canonically, there were only 144 332nd troopers in total, a subdivision of the 501st. We pretty much saw all of them on screen, there were no specialists. But it would still be cool to look at
  11. Oh that’s a good one, that would be a good giveaway
  12. Considering it’s several hundred more pieces, I’d assume so
  13. Something I noticed on the tie interceptor: there’s no imperial insignia on the side of the wings, unlike the bomber and fighter that are currently out. The old Lego interceptor also had an insignia. Is this by design? I suppose it would make sense for the imperial remnant ships to have a slightly different appearance.
  14. I’m definitely in a wait-and-see camp. If the color scheme and parts usage means we get the most beautiful LAAT ever then sure, I’m down. But if it’s a meh build then I’ll be upset we didn’t just get a generic color scheme
  15. MTT, Gungan sub, Lucrehulk, Naboo starfighter, Infiltrator, queen’s royal ship, vulture droid, a slew of podracers, a (proper) AAT. TPM is so rich with set possibilities it’s bananas. I hope we don’t have to wait for the 30th anniversary before Lego considers making or remaking them.
  16. Really wonder how the build stacks up to something like Vader’s Castle from 2019. Minifig selection is amazing.
  17. I’m not the one telling kids to suck it up and imagine vehicles that Lego has turned into sets before
  18. Nah no one is complaining about B1s, they’re complaining about no supers and no separatist vehicles. There’s B1s in both the AT-TE and Fighter Tank, why would anyone say we’re not getting enough?
  19. I’ve been a kid before so let me speak from experience and tell you that having my Jango Slave 1 fight Kenobi’s 2002 starfighter was far more exciting and epic than imagining an enemy or “exploring some place” This is also coming from Lego, which routinely wants to create “conflict” in their sets to give kids factions to fight against, and even goes so far as to include projectile weapons in the form of stud shooters and missile launchers as opposed to just “pew pew imagine guns”, so it’s a moot point all around to shrug and say “lol just imagine it, kiddo”.
  20. Man, all these clone sets, but no seppies to fight against. If I were a kid right now I’d be wondering what my fighter tank/AT-TE/swamp speeder/gunship/obi wan’s starfighter are supposed to be fighting
  21. True, this is what I would assume. Especially if the gunship is already going to be a bit smaller (1,083 pieces). But seeing how detailed the tie bomber was at a smaller scale I’m not worried about the gunship looking poor.
  22. Just rewatched the scenes with the gunship in that episode. They all have turrets on the wings. Really hope there’s a good explanation here
  23. Pretty much exactly my concern. A coruscant gunship will sell less than a generic gunship because it is objectively less versatile. And now I’m worried about this whole “no ball turrets on the wings” claim. Is it even a gunship at this point?
  24. This is just the spoiled Lego fan in me coming out, but if they went out of their way to make an all red coruscant gunship, they totally could have made a 2003 Clone Wars Muunilist gunship, that would’ve been an awesome homage to, you know, the show that actually took place 20 years ago
