  1. This would be more baffling than a Jedi Bob Starfighter or Dark Falcon. I’m huffing copium until more news leaks out, I refuse to believe they’d not do an interior, it’s literally an ace in the hole opportunity for Lego. The Sail Barge is NOTHING without its figures.
  2. Kneejerk reaction, but if true, this might be the most disappointing UCS set since Assault on Hoth. What are they thinking? Why would they do this? Just shrink it and turn it into an MBS if size is the concern, I can’t think of any other explanation.
  3. This. Maybe it’s just the throne and bar? We didn’t see the whole interior in the movie but we also never saw the interior of the ATAT in a movie and Lego gave us a huge, hollow UCS set with room for an army. There’s schematics for the sail barge, it couldn’t be too difficult. The sail barge, on its own, is not the iconic pop culture caliber as an AT-AT, Falcon, or Star Destroyer, which would still have been desirable without interiors. It’s a giant brown boat, the excitement is what happens in and around it. I really hope Lego doesn’t botch this. This too. You’d think the Cantina’s success would have made it obvious. Imagine if the Cantina only came with a very detailed exterior?
  4. A sail barge with no/poor interior would actually be the worst possible outcome.
  5. It won’t be. It’s only $80
  6. This. Don’t even bother to make a Sail Barge if you won’t include the cast that makes the Sail Barge so appealing. The ship on its own is boring. I imagine it’ll AT LEAST have Jabba, Rebo, Krum, Bib, Leia, C-3PO and R2. Anything less would be a colossal disappointment. Considering the Skiff has six figures it seems like Lego may have purposefully cut them out of the UCS set to sell as a standalone add-on, which may explain why the Barge is not as figure heavy on its own.
  7. The biggest appeal of kid sets to adults are the figs, Lego knows their audience, and most of these are bangers. Certainly unique.
  8. Hard to judge, Lego has a habit of releasing major anniversary sets the year after the anniversary. This year’s Tie interceptor and Sail Barge are ROTJ sets bleeding over from last year. ESB got the AT AT, probe droid, and Vader meditation chamber, and bespin duel the year after the anniversary. We may as well get more TPM sets next year.
  9. Times like this it’s important to remember that all of these sets (with the exception of 3PO) are primarily targeted at kids and kid sensibilities. For adults this is the year of the sail barge
  10. It’s probably not a sphere but a room Unlikely, the piece count is also doubled from last time, but 500 something isn’t enough for a diorama Wow that’s surprising. I’m guessing if there’s any other TPM it’s some rendition of duel of the fates then, but that wouldn’t include any character they haven’t done before
  11. So no second diorama then? How odd we’re only getting one
  12. A $200 Death Star playset? Again, at such a low price point, how good could this be? Lego totally flipped which sets should be more or less expensive.
  13. $70??? For the SITH INFILTRATOR? It’s going to be trash, unless it’s midi scaled there’s no hope for it to look good at such a low price point
  14. It’s double the number of pieces we’ve gotten in the past for this set, probably just a higher resolution since this will likely be a necessary complement for the UCS set Very interested to know the price/piece count of that Sith Infiltrator
  15. Yeah no police gunship is a huge blow it seemed like the obvious choice
  16. It’d be crazy if all the figs in the Sarlaac pit are missing from the sail barge. And if they’re not, it’s still a ripoff because you have to “complete” the sail barge and potentially double up on certain figures. At least when DC did the batcave last year they released a standalone Batmobile while including one on the batbox
  17. So no MTT or AAT then? The two high-price August sets are already reserved. I wonder what the remaining TPM sets will be, if any
  18. Big win for kids. Collectors probably shrugging at this.
  19. They made Chewbacca $200 but 3PO is $150. I don’t get LSW sometimes lol. Wouldn’t people be less price sensitive to 3PO?
  20. 3PO must be the other 18+ buildable character rumored for this year. Shame, I though a B1 battle droid was in the cards I REALLY hope Lego didn’t choose to not include the Sarlaac Pit in the UCS sail barge because that would be BS We JUST retired both an x wing and tie fighter, are we sure both of these new ones are OT yet again? They’re giving us a non canon Falcon before a Jango Slave I or a single Sequel set? You kidding?
  21. What is a “dark” millennium falcon?
  22. The figs sound good, but what is the build? A transport would make sense
  23. I didn’t accuse you of deflection, just pointed out the fact that there’s a balance to be found between knee jerk overreaction and blind fanboying over new content. Also, people are more than free to consider the prequels to be greater films than the sequels and should be able to do so without your condescension.
  24. This cliche works both ways. “People will stop hating the new thing once a newer thing releases” is spewed constantly to deflect criticism of poor media as merely crusty old fans who can’t adapt, which is just as dishonest. And in the case of Star Wars under Disney, the likability vs time graph is not a straight, downwards trending line.
  25. I’m not saying it’s a reboot, I’m saying it’s the most inoffensive way they could have possibly continued the Star Wars universe without completely starting over while very tenuously pulling on a single thread from the sequels. Kylo is gone, the first order is gone, and Boyega won’t fall for the same trick twice.
