He popularized it but there’s been so many more egregious examples in the past few years. I agree that the grey baseplate stackers give creative army builders a bad name -

Yeah people have enough access to generic stormtroopers. I think it’s important to note that most people don’t need/want more than a handful of copies of the same figure. -

The overwhelming majority of people who buy battle packs do not remotely care for such things. Why would Lego cater to a fraction of a minority instead of giving kids a neat jet pack figure that can “fly”? Is an officer cooler than that to a seven year old? -

I’ll add the addendum *anymore* 7914 is 14 years old. -

How is the jetpack trooper “useless”? They appear in large numbers in the final season. Battle packs never consist of four copies of the same figure. On a side note, I think we need more sets to complement battle packs, like the UCS ATAT for snowtroopers and the Coruscant guard gunship for shock troopers. Base plates don’t count. -

Hoping for a well done Delta 7. They’ve never done it justice and the original from 2002 remains the most accurately shaped. -

The Endor and Hoth imperial speeder bikes were so well done, it’s a shame Lego doesn’t refine the clone bikes. All three barc speeders they’ve done since 2020 are way too big and way too ugly. The lamp is superior to the speeder in this set. -

Hasn’t it already leaked that the Jedi bob starfighter is red and white? -

Solid Brix already has a review up for the Sith Infiltrator. I really do feel this is the best we’ve gotten, the finish is head and shoulders above the previous renditions and the play features are clever and look very fun. I don’t mind the scaling or the proportions, this is a toy after all, not an exhibition model. Accuracy should never come at the cost of fun. -

Really feels like a $590 MBS set when you combine the two. I hope this means a Jabba’s throne room diorama is back on the table for next year -

Pending an April fool’s (although this doesn’t sound remotely as far fetched as last year’s, which ended up being true), I KNEW it, there’s no way they weren’t going to do a full interior and a healthy complement of figures. -

Infiltrator fully leaked. Amazing finish, covered technic holes, no stud shooters, retractable landing gear, brick-built play features including dropping probe droid functions, remotely activated spring shooters, a speeder bike sliding into the cockpit, no stickers? Yeah this is a great set, THIS is a cool toy. Where was this ingenuity with the Gunship? Only complaint is no hood for Maul and the bloodfin’s backseat should be a bit taller but I think it’s shortened to fit inside. The ship looks a bit pregnant but it accommodates the droids so I’m fine with that too. Honestly the best all-round playset we’ve gotten in a while in my opinion, pending an in-hand build. It doesn’t have an ugly angle and most importantly, it looks to be FUN. -

Well the sith infiltrator was correctly leaked, but the leaked figures were very wrong. So it can be a mix of both. -

Another anniversary figure, another cool character, but just like Fives, there’s no reason this one couldn’t have been included with just about any clone wars set. These are not characters from media that don’t get a lot of set coverage like KOTOR or Jedi Fallen Order, it’s the Clone Wars. The characters are rare, but the opportunities to stick them in sets is not rare. -

I would’ve much preferred two tiny (or rather, figure scaled) BARCs. Sure it’s not accurate to the scene, but it’s Lego, and it would offer more interactivity in the set. Lego has this habit of oversizing small vehicles like speeders, N-1s, Shin’s starfighter, etc, while undersizing others like the gunship, AAT, tie bomber, etc. Putting some of these sets next to each other looks funky. I would never say that accurate scale should be prioritized over fun, but this speeder accomplishes nothing that a smaller one couldn’t do just as well, while saving pieces for other side builds…maybe a second lamp post! -

$30, up until December of 2022, got you an oversized walker, an oversized BARC, and six figures (two of them being droids). Now, $30 gets you an oversized BARC with side car, a sorry excuse of a lamp post, and four figures (one being grogu) This sucks man -

Really hoping Maul’s speeder is inside the ship and just not displayed on the box art. I mean the only characters they have are the ones from that scene. It would explain the baby bump in front of the cockpit -

Yeah that’s not alright. Maube it’s just me but it feels like some of these anniversary figures could have easily been thrown into any tangentially related set without stealing figure space from other vital characters (in their own set) that we haven’t gotten in years. lego had no trouble throwing in someone as obscure as Vice Admiral Sloane into the tie bomber, but fives has to be an anniversary fig? You mean he couldn’t be thrown into a random clone wars set? Saw couldn’t be thrown into any rebel set? -

It’s certainly chibi-fied, reminds me of the Obi-Wan Star fighter in the sense that it looks more…pregnant than the in-universe model. Shape aside, I think this is the most nicely greebled model we’ve gotten yet, a benefit of the smaller size. Only three TPM figures, possibly the only three figures we’ll get this year for the 25th anniversary, is absolutely criminal. -

Evergreen playsets like the x-wing are meant for kids first and foremost. For every adult collector (who is not the target audience of these sets) who says “we JUST got one of these”, there are ten kids who just turned 7 and are excited to get their first ever x-wing, or Falcon, or yes, even Luke’s landspeeder
