Tanma replied to Zepher's topic in The Heroica Archive
IC: De'kra turned his attention back to Chimera Guard G, hoping that this time he would defeat it. As the echo moved to strike from the back row, De'kra held Chiara firmly I his hands, in the hopes off an accurate attack.. OOC: Today is the annual celebration of my arrival upon the third planet fom Sol. -

IC: De'kra nodded at Arthur eagerly, glad that the Mage seemed rational. The echo poured the Phoenix Essence into the Ranger, all the while hoping that William would recover, and that this would not be in vain. As he did this, the echo noticed a lack of input from Flavius. He was completely silent, a worrying sign. -

IC: De'kra winced as pain struck into him. "I suffer great damage, so I think I will drink potion. This alright and rest of group? I am sorry about it, but I not able to stand much longer." -

IC: De'kra flinches as another foe strikes into him from out of nowhere. "This is not ideal," he clicked, "You have any suggestions Skrall? Since that foe randomly move back I not sure it safe to test Cronk and I's luck here." -

IC: De'kra winced as the foe slammed its pincers into his chest. Though the blow was painful, it did not sting quite as badly as he would have expected. Shaking himself of that, De'kra clicked, "I think Cronk and I can hold out here little longer, though if Nerwen's group can afford it, I think Ranger's weapon does greater damage to machines. But chaos beasts and or Rolando more important, so enact what you think is best. I will attack Chimera Guard B from back row again, and Chiara attack he could fall in one attack." -
female undead mage.
-
Anyone else ind it odd that Rolando is so powerful against us, yet all the enemy has to do to capture and subdue the good emperors ( and the two others) is just be in the same room as them?

IC: De'kra nodded as the foe sparked from Chiara's blow. As he readied the electric blade for another blow he clicked, "Heroes dealt great damage to blackenord, though he still stand. However as Cronk's summon left, heroes will need to split targets once more. I will move on to attack Chimera Guard B again, once more from back row. Cronk, you think you can take on blackenord alone? I only suggest it because of all of heroes in immediate area, you have enough health to take direct hit." -

OOC: De'kra can't take damage this round correct, even from free hits? I ask because the player list doesn't identify Cronk as using a guardian angel, nor that we are under it's protection. IC: De'kra sighed briefly with relief, so far the legion of heroes had held strong. Only three of them had been harmed, and Tarn had punishment coming after the bomb stunt. Still, iit would be best if no one suffered further wounds. "I will engage Blackenord from front row," clicked the rogue, "if Cronk sure his summon can protect squad. No offense meant, but combined league of heroes so spread out that it might negatively impact summon's power." The echo whipped Chiara about, still sparking rom the successful attack. -

IC: De'kra winces as the army emerges. It was going to be a bloodbath, that much was certain. "Cronk," clicked the echo, "I hate to suggest this, but you think you could take on that lord? He hits too hard to ignore. I will attack Chimera Quard B from Back Row. Chiara should deal great damage to machine." OOC: now I realize you want quests to be failable, but are you sure this is possible to succeed in? -

IC: De'kra paused for a time as the words washed over him. Finally he nodded at the barbarian's words and clicked, "Thank you for your words, and you are right. This quest, this world feels so wrong to I, I can hardly see straight. I need to focus, it not like heroes back home not face set backs and betrayals, I people even lost most important war ever. If it not for Old King..." The echo shook briefly then clicked, "I...thank you. Of many heroes I have met, you Xander are one of the greatest. You let elves hold you hostage to ensure Quest 4 heroes could continue. And after heroes and I learn group use to start war, you just move on to fix you mistake. You were only member of Quest 4 to try to fix heroes and I's mistakes in Quest 17. If Olegaia can spawn you, maybe it not beyond redemption." De'kra dipped his head in respect, before standing alongside Cronk and the rest. As the echo walked to battle, his clothes began to shift into a new design. -

IC : De'kra nodded and licked, "Normally I agree and you, and I still enact so to degree. Unite few things can threaten team, and most of time heroes are victorious. But...I am not sure all of group are team, or Heroica true team for that matter. So much has gone wrong on this quest, from heroes brutally kill loyal Dastan warrior to heroes being hire by Emarldo, who as group know is traitor. I am not sure if blind faith in heroes' abilities will work any more. So I think heroes should hope for best outcome, yet prepare for worst." -

IC: De'kra watched the groups of heroes as they were divided up, for this singular final battle. Soon the fate of Dastan will be resolved, at least or now. De'kra paused at the words of the first voice, and shuddered slightly . It was right, there was no guarantee that they would survive. The heroes he knew personally back home typically survived their battles, but heroes were an endangered species back there. Heroes died, De'kra just rarely witnessed it personally. Or maybe he just didn't focus on it. And any one of the heroes here might die, just like Lhikan or the other version of Matoro. This might be his last time to see them. "Listen heroes," said De'kra, "This is climax to everything. Heroes and I are on heroes' own here, and heroes and I will stand or fall on heroes' own. Heroes and I can not rely on back-up now, like heroes always have not. Heroes of course won't give up, heroes and I not come all this way-fight all these fights- just to lose. But sometimes hero can not simply beat villains and come home cover in glory. Sometimes heroes have to make sacrifices so that lot of people-people heroes and I have never met before and who not know heroes' names- can live. Heroes can die, and this might be last time heroes see each other. If you have any words for your comrades, now is time." -

IC: De'kra winced as Team Blue was decided. The echo could feel a slight copper taste in his hands as he eyed Tarn, the memories of that bomb still lingered in his mind. Still, Skrall seemed to know what he was doing, and at least it wasn't that witch. With a slightly resigned nod De'kra accepted the arrangements. Turning to Cronk De'kra explained, "Hammer-Hero, Leader, Skrall, and another hero are go to face Emeraldo, at least accord to initial plans." -

IC: De'kra listened as the Ogre divided the roles. "Plan seem good to I," the echo commented, "I for one would like to hear where you suspect I should go. I should warn you that while I second cloak can let I scan enemies, I sometimes forget to use it." -
IC: De'kra nods, as only three foes remain. "I will try to finish off Imperial Guard A from Back Row," clicked the echo, "Victory in this fight almost at hand. Of course afterward Team will need to face foes inside palace, so group not safe yet." De'kra whips Kapura back and forth in his hands, relievedthatthe battle might soon be over- finished!
-
IC: De'kra signed with relief, before clicking, "I will attack Imperial Guard A from back row. You song is quite strong Nerwen, let heroes and I hope it lasts." The echo prepared Kapura for the strike, even as the last of the enemies seemed to falter.
-
IC: De'kra clicked, "Good point Cronk, though hopefully I health can take it." The echo and Kapura moved to attack the elite from the back row, hoping to a degree that they don't bring down the foe this round. OOC: is row affected by charge?
-
IC: De'kra watched as Nerwen sent healing energy all over the battlefield once more. Even a Toa would get exhausted if they used their Toa power to heal so often. "You are enact great Nerwen," clicked the Rogue in mild awe, "I have seen few so in tune and their power. Anyway, I will attack Imperial Guard B from back row once again." Kapura danced in the echo's hands as he readied to attack the foe.
-
IC: De'kra nods at Nerwen in thanks, before he and Kapura moved o attack the Imperial Guard B from te back row.
-
OOC: Anyone else tend to get so wrapped in the plot that you forget what our payment will be? IC: De'kra and Kapura flipped back, glad that their lightning strike dealt some good damage. The echo clicked, "Cronk, maybe you could spend your next turn heal yourself? Heroes only need to worry about two foes this round, so there is no danger." After an analysis, De'kra and Kapura moved to attack the Archer from the back row, as they could deal more damage to the defenseless bowman.
-
IC: De'kra stands at his full height, his health restored. "Sorry for that," he clicked, " I thought I was more wound than I actually was. I will target Imperial Guard B from back row. Try to hang on Galen and Hammer Hero. If ether of you fall II will revive you, but I still prefer you not fall, however brief." The echo and Kapura prepared themselves to strike down the guard, though concerns still flowed through De'kra's mind. Some were directed towards the wounded heroes, but not all.
-
OOC: I know, but one of my computers has issues with modifying a post. That was the first version of what the voice in De'kra's head said. Sorry for confusion. IC : De'kra shock his headed the worries of madness, that could be for a time of rest, but not of war. To the group he clicked, "Try to limit what free hits they give, I not sure how damage group is as whole, but it best not to risk too much damage."
-
Good, as you are not mad."OOC: But isn't the damaged halved when you stand in the back row? I am not sure if free hits count like that, but Tempest doesn't mention that it ignores row, and neither does the mage. IC: De'kra forces himself to remain conscious as he drinks the fluid. As the echo watched the group, his mind drifted back to the odd feeling. The fact that he was hearing voices did not bode well for the sensations he felt all over his body, though he preferred not to considered madness an option. De'kra would have signed if he could, the voice was still reassuring as ever, but that didn't mean it spoke the truth. Still, it was pleasent to hear.

From full health to one point left in one round? I do not know if I had horribly luck that round, or if I am extremely lucky.
