I nearly walked out of the theatre for the Batman. After the first third everything fell apart. I would rather have TDK sets than from the new film

I for one am very excited about the batpod. It’s a shame we’ve never had it as an official UCS release and I wouldn’t mind a DK buildabke figure, I like bale’s suit a lot. Hopefully most of the pieces go into the batpod though…

You're missing out big time 🤷 if you would have loved it as a kid why not buy it and enjoy it? Being an adult doesn't mean you can't modify the set to your liking. I modify almost every set I buy so that I can enjoy it even more.

Definitely excited about the nine-headed beast. If this really is the last wave, I'm a little sad. This theme has been a breath of fresh air. I only have the demon bull king, Sea HQ, and the city of lanterns but a lot of the sets have me really interested, definitely have to pick up the blimp! I'm going to miss this theme when it eventually retires, it has been wonderful!

I don't know how to feel about this lol. The brickheadz were cool I guess but feels like a waste. A $20 LOTR set, even a small little scene from the movies would not bankrupt Lego. Maybe it'll be the GWP for Baradur, I would appreciate that

Once you buy one set from a theme others become more appealing. If I got one x-wing I'd want another two to make a fleet, or if I got a land speeder that means I need other Tatooine sets to have a display. If get a falcon I'll need a tie-fighter to oppose it, if I get a separatist set I'll need a republic set to have it fight against. At least that's the way I collect. I'm willing to that for my pirates collection for example, but if I don't want to start with SW. I have a few SW sets and I want other ones but I know if I get a clone set fir example I'll just bust the bank by trying to make an army.

I wish I had the same budget when the original LOTR sets came out haha. I only have Rivendell and the pirate ship (revitalized into an orc ship for castle) so I Do have the main cast. But there were only around 35 sets (hobbit and LOTR off the top of my head) so its much easier to collect imo. There are so many vehicles in Star Wars and so many different eras it's much more difficult to keep up. With Pirates it's just ships and forts, simple! However if they do release a turbo tank I'll have to pick it up.

I have a bigger issue with how silly the face prints are. I want more stern ones, everyone looks too jolly while firing a cannon. I wish they would include more serious faces like in 2009 for example. They were still a bit cartoony but could be used in a variety of different scenarios. Nowadays everyone has a huge smile.

110%,Star Wars has some great sets but there is simply too much to collect. All my Lego money recently has been towards fantasy/castle. I bought most of the sets I wanted as a kid last year so now my budget is strictly for pirates/LOTR/castle

Just as I expected (and agree with) governor's office is too cramped. And how the ladder leads into the governor's office. Seriously? All the soldiers will walk through his office? Only issues I have with the set. Can't wait to mod it when I get back home.

Ah I see thank you! I know this is anecdotal evidence but almost every single creator on instagram I follow that had a poll for best set of 2023 had rivendell coming out on top.

Does anyone know any info on why we suddenly got a revival of HP in 2018? I know Fantastic Beasts were coming out with films but it's not like they brought on hype? I know Harry Potter is easier to get into than LOTR but still. If Lego just decided to bring back HP for the heck of it I would be more optimistic about LOTR coming back in play scale form (next year? We would have heard if it was this year) but I assume HP just sold better since I don't recall it being on heavy clearance around 2012 (correct me if I'm wrong I was younger back then lol). And if LOTR magically came back next year in play scale form I think it would only be if Baradur sold on the same level of Rivendell which we'll have to see about. Also do you think the LOTR aftermarket would fall? I remember back in 2018 Harry Potter sets even from 2012 were ridiculous priced but have dropped significantly since the emergence of the new sets. I guess we'll have to see, I'm not too optimistic though :(((

afaik LOTR sold not too hot. A lot of clearance and I'm talking BIG clearance. I was far too young back then to collect all the sets but unfortunately I don't see a full on theme coming any time soon. A harry potter treatment ofr LOTR would be beautiful to see. Also if I'm remembering correctly the designers said Rivendell was a one time set and if it sold well we might get new stuff. That’s why we’re getting baradur. (My store sold 10 rivendells out of 30 in 5 minutes lol)
