Right I'm saying that Lego rarely does so many exclusive pieces for just one set. Smaug is an aberration just like the cave troll and troll king. Swords and hairpieces are a different case from a molded beast. Right and thats another example of a smaug for the cars. They appear once and do their job. I'm sure tinker bell hair will appear again and plenty of new swords and hairpieces is a great indicator there is more to come. Right but the hairpieces? That is definitely gonna get reused again be it in a castle theme or a LOTR one

Right nori and Dori is somewhat of an example and I'm sure they would have appeared at least once more if it wasn't for Hobbit/LOTR being ended prematurely. However the goblin king is another extreme example such as smaug.

If it was one mold sure. However there are multiple in this set and I don't see them being created for just one set. That would be ridiculous. Has there ever been a set where the mould has only belonged to that one set? Except like smaug for example that's an extreme case

Has lego ever made THIS many specialized pieces for a set and not followed up with more for the same line to reuse them? More LOTR sets will come I'm certain. Hopefully before I leave for college....

(Edit: sorry misread original question) Look at his face from the hobbit lineup instead of the lotr one! Much cheaper if you get that vriant of his face! Got mine for $1.5 yesterday!

Also had a follow-up question. I know Arwen has that crown in the third film, would a wonder woman face print with a tiara work? or is that not a good representation of the crown. Thanks!

I just ordered the Mantis face for arwen. It'll be a decent substitute since the official one is $$$$. Sam's and Merry's hair was swapped and are an easy fix. Got an og face for Gandalf and I'm pretty sure the og beard will fit for gimli and I intend to swap the new one out If I did the measuring correctly Rivendell will take up and entire shelf for me, with part of it hanging off.....I have multiple shelves that display entire THEMES and one set is eating a shelf up and barely fitting!!! XD

Let's try to stray away from any controversial discussions we don't want to spiral things out of control Decided I'll place all my OG fellowship members sitting in the council chairs while the updated new ones will be out and about on the set display. That way I'll have the seats filled up AND have a figure display within the scene😁

I just need some more LOTR sets to come out this year. I'm off to college soon and if they make a POTC comeback and LOTR comeback my student loans will be in tears and so will I 🤣

I have been deprived of Lego LOTR for too long....I agree it ain't worth $500 but first time in my life I can buy a LOTR set on shelves. And I'm not missing this opportunity this time

Picked up a gandalf and Legolas head to replace the ones in this set and an alternative for arwen 😁😁😁 now I'm completely on the hype train since I can fix the figures!!!

Anyone have a good head I could get to replace arwen's? The one from 2013 is way too expensive so if anyone has any alternatives please let me know asap!!!

I'm gonna bricklink the original faces for some of the characters. Don't like all the reuses they have It looks decent on everyone but Legolas

Currently I'm in the US but I'm from Russia :) The set is amazing. Doll house interior is better than I wanted. Day one buy I'm off to college soon so I want atleast want one more release day purchase at the store:)

I still can't believe LOTR is coming back. As a kid I didn't have any of the sets but watched the reviews and trailers for hours. I got into LOTR through Lego and will never forget watching the hobbit with my grandpa when it first came out. The magic this theme had back then has never been repeated for me. It actually helped me learn English and advance it since all the reviews were in English:))) I've gotten two sets from the original theme with only of them still being put together so I will be at the Lego store at the crack of dawn on the 1st of March.
