  1. "I received the quote-by-quote of the torture session from Rhodus. You mentioned your sister. Besides that, I don't know where the fragile little wench vanished off to - that is a question for Prometheus, not I. I'm sure he would put you in connection with her or at least check if she was dead... if you paid the right price, that is. Heh heh heh..." QM Note: If JMB doesn't post within the next few hours, I'll move this along.
  2. "That's nice. You derive pleasure from throwing knives into the eyes of the disabled."
  3. "To an extent it is revenge, yes. I am doing to to cause them suffering, not to give me happiness. Unfortunately, some people value the price of happiness too high, and can't stand a single bit of suffering. Although, I probably will derive a bit of sadistic amusement from the act, though that is merely a bonus."
  4. "I will address you first, werewolf. Suffering is not infinite? Suffering is not infinite?! You are more blind then Aquos ever was! You come from Eubric, for Mythrogg's sake! It is a wretched hive of scum and villainy, being held together by what? 6 squabbling families and a greedy band of petty thieves? Suffering runs rampant in that city, even Eubric's protecotr, Heroica, being corrupted by the second. Even you heroes are broken and twisted souls... You, Sylph, are as "odd" as I - Aquos himself told me this. You, Romulus, are a werewolf, a being cursed to be in a constant limbo between man and unruly beast. Johon, my brother murdered your parents - Galen, your sister vanished. Elgar, Alex, Hal I'm sure you have some skeletons in the closet. The despicable yellow shrimp you tote around has been abandoned and neglected... despite being a mere 2 months old. Do you get it yet? Suffering is a part of us they can and never will die. We can mask it with happiness all we like, but the mask will always slip inevitably. Those who learn to not mask their suffering - and, instead, utilize it - come out on top. Those who learn not to dwell on what they've done, but plan on what they are going to do, are all the more powerful. He who uses suffering as a tool and not an enemy is the greater man. And you, paladin. I seem to recall you being terrified just earlier." Eidolon suddenly shoots a bolt directly at Alex's feet, the paladin yelping and jumping back. "You were right to fear me. Please start fearing me again, for your own personal safety."
  5. "First of all, such childish vulgarities are not a way to address your soon-to-be ruler, you little brat. Second of all, you do it so you don't ruin what does have a chance to last forever. That is a poor analogy, because you're attempting to relate a bodily function to suffering and roll of crushed papyrus reeds to happiness. The two have no bearing. Hah! Let us see about that, you lycanthropic insect. My reign will be a glorious one, that I can assure you. I'm surprised Uland isn't welcoming its new ruler already - perhaps they are just too idiotic to realize what good will come under my rule. They will all be finally be put out of their petty miseries, they will receive atonement for their vile actions in the past. They deserve death, relentless, remorseless death... All of them! All of them, such fools, creating a being so much better then all others, only to cast that being as their slaves! The oppression of my people shall end, and the oppression of theirs will begin! It'll be wonderful! Surely you can see the benefits - no longer will various powers struggle and toil to fulfill their greedy desires. All will be united under one rule... mine, of course. Oh, it shall be amazing! As close to perfection as one can get. A unified Uland is a progressing Uland - right now, in all of your petty squabbles and pathetic, you have stalemated. Become unable to move forward, so utterly absorbed by your own selfish goals to do anything meaningful. My rule will change that. Can't you see how much better it'll all be?"
  6. "But why create something that exists only to be destroyed later?"
  7. QM Note: Hey, not my fault all of the princes/Soon-to-be Emperor hate you. Also, that conversation was meant to be sooper skrit! "Happiness is finite. Suffering, misery, woe, anger... all come in infinite supply, unfortunately."
  8. The fungeon awaits

    1. Dannylonglegs

      Dannylonglegs

      Sounds Fun! (geon)

  9. Eidolon chuckles. "Beliefs like that are exactly the type of things that make one a lesser being. You have no ambitions. No motivations. You simply exist to carry out a fictional character's word, carried to you by rather dubious prophet who claim to "hear" Ennoc. Those people are put on a pedestal of gold, praised for all eternity... despite the fact they are simply insane. What do you want in life? To bring justice to the world? To spread the light? To try to put an end to evil? All just the goals given to you by Ennoc. You are just a shallow shadow of him, a poor fool deluded into thinking that serving Ennoc would make your life more fruitful."
  10. "Speaking of which... Where is that closet we used to teleport here? Did it disappear?"
  11. "But why restrain yourself when you can become something more?"
  12. "Is that a good idea? We have no idea what force these may contain - one wrong move with these and it may be catastrophic."
  13. "Ahh, but the cat was neither emperor nor did he possess an entire army, now did he? And who, pray tell, are you to predict the future of my reign? I had you chalked up to a foolish tree hugger, not a bumbling predictor of the future. I believe it is quite obvious, if you pit your average man against an average Progg, the Progg would always win. Why is this? Why does the "unnatural abomination" triumph over a species born on to this world naturally? I'll tell you why, druid. It is because nature is useless. The gods are useless. We relied on neither to become what we are today. We were born to be replacements for cattle and steed... and now, we shall rule Uland and maybe even all of Olegaia. We did not trifle ourselves much with neither nature or the gods - all they do is create imperfect beings, lesser reflections of themselves. We rose to power through our own strength and will. Why worship a being or force you consider higher? It just automatically makes you lesser! It is admitting you are weak, that you have to rely on some sort of outside power to give you your strength! Most of this pathetic world restrains itself, deciding to dedicate themselves to some "higher being" that they have never even met. What is the point of Ennoc? Sylvania? Mercuito? Helvetia? Nature? What is the point, specially when we, the Proggs, have not only defied them all, but have grown more powerful then any other species because of it?!" QM Note: I'll allow Jedi master Brick and Fugazi to roleplay a bit here - hopefully they post soon.
  14. "I believe a visit to the Maginastra is en route anyway - we have all 3 amulets, so now we can deliver them to him, have him analyze the dust, and then get our Eldritch Kraken."
  15. But he is far from extinct! Besides, Eidolon has an actual meaning behind it.
  16. "Ah, I see that little show of electricity wasn't enough for you? Perhaps you'd like more? A bit of both, really. I have been conversing with The Regret as of late, but I wanted to see you and your pathetic little band of rats in person - mostly to get a good look at how big you are. I need to decide what size platter to serve you on when me and my men utterly massacre you if you dare come to the manor, after all. And, you see, this is where the message part comes in. As I'm sure you daft little creautres know, I'm soon to be crowned as Emperor Eidolon, supreme ruler of all Proggs. What a glroious night this one will be - I will be immortalized in history, legends of my glorious conquest of this virulent rock standing the test of time for all of eternity! Sounds pretty good, doesn't it? I came here to deliver this message because I thought a lesser Progg delivering would have less... impact, lets say, on you pieces of filth. So, allow me to make myself crystal clear here: I can't have interruptions like you at the coronation. I currently have about 350 Proggs staioned there, and I even have had the worthless spellslinger's manor decorated nicely for this momentous occasion. There is no doubt that me and my forces will crush you utterly - we have more then your blue garden variety of Proggs stationed there, after all. Ever met a Progg Lurker? Heh heh heh... it is a literal fortress, and one I'd rather have you not mucking around in. My citadel is not a playground for vermin like you. So, allow me to put it in a way a brick could understand: If you set foot anywhere near the Dini Manor, you will be killed on sight. Just be the nice little inferior beings and surrender when you get there, if you value your life." Eidolon brandishes his might again, electrictiy coiling around his entire arms. His eyes flare up and glow even brighter, tendrils of lightning spiralling around his tail. He ascends a few feet above the hero and raises his electrified claws into the air, the storm growing more treachorous then before. Wind howls and thunder roars, lighting striking in the distance. Eidolon lands again, still covered in electricity. This Progg possessed power like none other... perhaps the most formidable foe any of the heroes have met, their adversary possesing power unlike anything they had encountered before. Eidolon chuckles softly as he sees the heroes quite nearly start trembling... "Is that too hard to comprehend? I have an agenda, and you imbeciles are not going to interfere, lest you seek to be crushed by the soon-to-be emperor of Uland. And after Uland, who knows? I'm sure the rest of Olegaia will fall in due time. You heroes are neither threat nor amusement anymore, just an annoyance. And as an annoyance, I have no qualms with wiping you off of the face of Olegaia if need be. Do you understand, you little insects? Hahahahahahahahah...! Tonight truly will be a night to be remmbered for all of eternity!! HAAAHHHAHHAH!!"
  17. And I would never have a final battle take place in some clearing in a forest -that'd be lame! it has gotta be in a bell tower or something.
  18. "Pray tell, how and why would my hostage install an illusion of me in his forest? But yes, I am indeed quite real - as you just learned. Learned the hard way, fortunately." 20. Sorry, Sylph. Eidolon won't take any garbage from you guys.
  21. All hail Emperor Eidolon!

    1. Dannylonglegs

      Dannylonglegs

      Yeah yeah ye--ouch.

  22. Eidolon grabbed Sylph's twig and snapped it like a toothpick, disposing of it with a flick of his wrist. "You poor, deluded thing. You must've gone insane some time ago. I hear shock therapy works wonders for that." Before Eidolon's words can be processed, a Corseque shoots forth from Eidolon's gauntlet, tethered to the soon-to-be-emperor by a long steel chain. It wraps around Sylph and Eidolon pulls the chain back, retracting Sylph directly into his claw. Sylph gaps as Eidolon grabs hold of him ina clutch of steel, electrocuting his hand while doing so. Sylph roars in pain, the combination of the bone-crushing clutch and the voltage coursing through his body proving too much for the Duid. Eidolon pauses slighty, the heroes standing in awe as their party leader was reduced to a hyperventilating wreck. As soon as Sylph's pain seems to subside, Eidolon continues right where he left off, huge coils of red electricty emitting from his hand. The Progg tightens his grip as the excessive amount of electrictiy enters Sylph, the party leader screaming in agony as he underwent the electric torture, the party too stunned to do anything. Eidolon soon gets bored of Sylph's bellow, raises him in the air... and chucks himat the ground, the battered frame of Sylph skidding across the ground. The druid's body twitches from electrical spasms, billowing smoke from the burns from his "shock therapy." Alex spends 1 ether to nurse Sylph back to 1 HP. Eidolon laughs a harsh laugh, a cruel laugh that seems to resonate in the party's ears, bouncing around Mystrinitri Woods and maybe even the entirety of Luosh. The storm intensifies as Eidolon howls with laughter, thunder rumbling and lightning striking... is he the source of the storm all along? "HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH! Behold the power of the soon-to-be Emperor of Uland, heroes! Does anyone else feel it neccasary to test me? There is plenty more where that came from, that I promise you, you foolish little insects! Are you done with insubordination? Or is further demonstration of my power neccasary?" 23. Desperation has the same effect in a character, the two are connected.
  24. A dose of fear in a character akes them seem more human, deep, and life-like. 3 ton electrical winged beasts descending from the sky usually makes one afraid.
