Endgame replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
...It currently is in left position/starting position. And while it is in that position, the statue was blocking the path. So, will the party keep it as is before reutrning to the big statue room, or push the small statue right? -

The party pushes the statue right back into it's starting position, the statue once agian locking up as soon as it reahces were it started from. The distant rumbling resumes as theypush the statue, and ceases as soon as they stop. Which way will they have the statyue placed: left or right? Which way will the party go? -

"Those are some pretty defensive robes. Order: Mizuki (back, shuriken, Sorona) Sorrow (front, Sorona) (if Mizuki gets damaged, do nothing) Hlin (front, Sorona) (If I or Mizuki gets damaged do nothing) Nerwen (Heal Stag, back) Maurice (Heal stag, back. If any of us get damaged, heal the party meber with the least amount of HP.) "We should be able to do that for the time being. Mizuki should alternate between throwing and retrieving." -

The party heads back to the left room, with the intent of moving it. The party pushes the smaller statue to the right, hearing a much louder rumbling sound to the right. Suddenly, the smaller statue locks up, and its weight seems to go up exponentially... The party groans and moans as they try to push the smaller statue, now completely unable of moving it an inch to the right. It seems to move left just fine, however. What will the party do? -

"I never said I didn't have issues, Sorona. I just want to make sure that you, being the insane little freak you are, understand what your own actions have done to you. I may be a freak in appareance, Sorona, but you are something far worse. You are a freak in the head, dedicated to an insane goal of domination. Thank you, Hlin." I thrust my Longsword into Sorona's neck, back row. -

Hal rubs his chin in thought. "Hmm... I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to brainteasers like this. I'll admit that much. However, it seems odd to have a smaller statue in the middle of nowhere... and a larger version of it blocking a path. I think you're on the right track about pushing, though... perhaps the statues are connected in some way?" -

"I just fell two of your men- excuse me, abominable undead hags - in a single hit, and made my pockets heavier in the process. You trap people in bubbles and waste tons of ehter in the process. Face it, Sorona. You're weak. You were weak, you are weak, and you will be weak till the second you finally die. And trust me, that second is coming very, very soon. Be afraid, pale Harbringer. I am a servant of Helvetia almighty, as close to an angel of death a mortal can become. It is funny. You have been harboring mutinous plots against Haroka -chances are, you drove offf your last potential friend. The sisterhood that surrounded you were mindless thralls, slaves built to your liking. And now, by your own actions, you'll die humiliated and unloved. How does it feel, "Sorrow"?" -

I look as Sorona traps our leader inside yet another vortex barrier, the church slowly being filled with this virulent bubbles. "Yikes, okay. Nerwen, Maurice, keep that stag occupied - nothing bad can really befall you, and you have another ether between you two to outlast the Stag. Worse come to worse, I can give you this ether core if one of your runs out... it is a bringer of bad memories and more then useless to me. Mizuki, retrieve your shuriken, as always. Hlin, you and me will bombard Sorona - back row! If we get damaged, one of you healers should stop healing the stag to heal one of us while the other occupies the stag. Sorona's worst attack right now is actually a roll of "damage", since Vortex bubbles are relatively nonlethal, me and Hlin don't have any good artefacts she can use, and it is alsmot a blessing for her to sacrifice the stag. Agreed?" Proposed order: Sorrow Hlin Nerwen (If stag gets sacrificed, do nothing) Maurice (If stag gets sacrificed, do nothing Mizuki Auto run cherrytap time! Hope you don't mind me doing this, Scuba. -

Once again, the satue seems to be just like its younger cousin, merely bigger. However, this one seemed to be blocking the way forward - it was too heavy to push, and to slippery from the rain to climb. -

The party, still being bombarded with the torrential downpour, heads back to the pond room... thankful that it was, in fact, still there. Heading right, the party finds... A huge, flora covered rock ridge stands in front of the part. A massive statue stands sotically, as featureless as the one saw previously. The sounds of wings overhead continue, and Sylph can tell it wasn't a bird flying about... -

Johon looks up and town the statue: it was of average height, anatomically was of average weight, of average proportions, and lacked any sort of facial expressions whatsoever. Using the lit torch, Johon and Sylph look around. The forest was eerily serene, practically unmoving besides the natural sway of the plants. An air of mysticality hangs above them, a feeling of mystery and confusion embodying the entire forest. Would the heroes ever make it to the Dini manor? The forest had proven tricky thus far, and it was getting more and more peculiar by the second... There appeared to be no other paths leading off of this area; they could only head back to the miniature pond area. -

Haste makes waste, but fortunately this statue didn't seem to have any tricks up its stony sleeves. Sylph pokes and prods it with his staff, the statue not reacting in the slightest. -

The party, the rain cascading them from above, heads left. Two large trees and one small stand, a statue of a indistinguishable figure standing solemnly. -
I don't know what that is. I've heard of slenderman before, but I haven't looked into it much.

Johon's compass twirls seemingly randomly - however, a pattern soon emerges. It first seems to point ,left, then right, alternating between the two directions. -

Gripping the slippery, waterlogged vines, Johon manages to ascend up a little bit, glancing up just above the stone wall. To the left he can see a small statue sitting alone, and a larger statue blocking a path. At this altitude, Johon could also make out the faint sound of wings flapping... and... static...? QM Note: These woods are too insane to be based on something as coherent as math. -

Romulus gazes into the water, but can't discern what is in it - despite being able to see his reflection quite clearly. There was clearly some powerful magic surrounding this entire forest. Romulus could reach in, but he doesn't know what he'll find... QM Note: A die will be rolled to determine what will be in the water. -

Following Romulus's heed, the party decides to take both the most logical and most illogcial path: ...Backwards? Walking back from where they came, the party once again becomes enveloped in a crypitc smoke. When they escape from the engulfing fog, they find... That they had progressed! The party unaminously agrees that should NOT have worked. -
Herpidy-derp. That starts to make a bit more sense now, I had assumed it was just some roleplaying to show her reluctance to turn Harlot.

Lycan weeds the two small plants, doing nothing of value. "Hmm... *wheeze* This place seems to completely defy the concept of possible layout... After *cough* all, taking a left somehow makes you go into the same room." -
That seems a bit mechanic bend-y, though. I don't know, it just seems like the Copper Fox is required for mechanic-changing, being the jack-of-all-trades and all. To be honest, I wanted to provide a NPC to train any of the heroes on 48 who reached 15 into an advanced class, but I thought it'd be messing with the fabric of reality game mechanics.
