  1. "Ahh, yes, you're a businesswoman now! I trust that the fanblade well help you if any of your clients get... ahh... rowdy."
  2. This is correct - I've essentially "watched" these movies over the course of several years. I actually read the Lord Of The Rings books.. and have the boxed set right next to me as I type.
  3. I have yet to see a single Matrix, Indiana Jones, Lord Of the Rings (Saw the hobbit, though!), or Star Wars movie in their entirety. ...Don't hurt me.
  4. "I was unaware harlots had use for them..."
  5. Perfect Regret narrows his eyes and lashes out at the audacious Rogue. "SILENCE! Both Man and Progg kind are mine to remake as I see fit!" Round Twenty One Of The True Final Battle! >Punii mixes jellies: Six is rolled: 40 damage to all enemies, disregarding SP! >Alex uses a tonic on Aquos (back) >Aquos sings Lucky Chant (back) >Sylph frails Phantom Rhodus (back):Success! >Sylph VS Phantom Rhodus (back): Damage Critical Hit (9x2=18+21=39x2=78-19=59, -1 SP) >Johon VS Nemesis Scepter (back): Special Damage Critical Hit (8x3=24+22=46/2=23-17=6 damage) >Galen VS Phantom Rhodus (back): Damage Hit (10+17=27x2=54-18=36 damage. Galen is Shivering!) >Elgar VS Rhodus (back): Special Damage Damage (33/2=17-6=11 damage) >Romulus VS Eidolon (back): Miss Critical Hit (18x2=36+15=51/2=26-9=17+4=21 damage) >Hal VS Perfect Regret (back): Special Damage Damage (46/2=23-3=20 damage) With Perfect Regret's reduced to nothing, the party instead chooses to focus on the vengeful phantoms. Their own brother proves to be their undoing, Aquos's song giving the party luck and agility. The opposition does manage to land a few lucky hits, however... Tactics: >Perfect Regret: Defensive Position! Defending Nemesis Scepter (+6 SP to Nemesis Scepter, -1 Levels to self) >Nemesis Scepter: Healing Position! 6. "Ah, yes. This fanblade has an Opal in it, so Opal and the Mockthril Bow for the Fanblade? These gloves aren't coming off, I'm afraid - these things could pull an entire city out of debt!"
  7. The Regret is a way better final foe, anyway. He holds all the cards, has set up (successful!) gambits that have spanned milleniums, and is the embodiment of hatred itself. Mythrogg didn't like the way Olegaia was heading, so he just said "Screw it" and vanished.
  8. Implying you aren't already fighting me? Albeit indirectly, but I am pulling the strings! Its only been two bosses in a row, give me a break. I originally did have a Mythrogg battle planned for 48, but I didn't like it... So I took The Regret's boss and added a phase 2.
  9. My quest is not that bad - they have the True Final Boss down to his last limb. Just a matter of chipping away until he collapses.
  10. A Devil In WHITE (White!)/Who extols LIGHT (Light!)/But inside there is nothing but DARK....

  11. My die rolls are inverted, I have six as a shield for all of my quests. Also, I'll try to get this battle with ASAP, 48ers! There is probably going to be a 1-2 day ending, plus you can mingle with any NPCs and shop (I know you guys have some black market deals! )
  12. After Arthur and Alexis reconcile, I take a walk with the sorcerer to the Marketplace. I eye each stall's ware carefully... "I'm still a bit indecisive... but you have your own list, right?" "Right here." he says, unfurling out a rather massive list. We were going under Patricia's employ, though... perhaps he wanted to do his best at his new job. I chat with various merchants as he goes about, doing his business. Arthur (Flipz) buys: Cost--quantity--item -50 1x Scroll of Sealing -80 1x Sterile Gloves -20 1x Shackles of War =1293 gold left -40 1x Elixir -125 5x Smelling Salts -175 5x Nostrum -100 10x Remedy -55 1x Mulled Wine -20 Pickaxe -50 Magic Compass =728 gold left -100 10x Grand Potion =628 gold left For Nagure: -50 1x Scroll of Blindness -50 1x Scroll of Frailty -100 gold loam to imbue them into the Yeti Armor =428 gold left. Costy, all of the items in the "For Nagure" section are yours now, so you can imbue them when you get the chance to see this. I'll be buying my stuff this afternoon.
  13. I shake my head. "Althior. You can either live a happy ten years or wallow in misery for twenty. Alive or undead, whats the point of living if there is no happiness?" I arrive in the hall. "Ah, Alexis - you have a bow for sale, right? Perhaps a trade?"
  14. That too. Maybe he should just go to the graveyard, sit on some rock, and just read a book. He has an eternity... or until his heart gives out.
  15. "Killed? We are heroes, Althior. Its in the job description. We go about, stopping genocides, gods, tyrants, and only the occasional common thief. Our life expectancy isn't exactly high."
  16. The two closest females Sorrow has gotten to are Alexis and Nerwen (who he sees as an elder to him, despite the 2 century gap) ...and he is currently giving relationship counseling to someone for Alexis. Yeah, Sorrow is out of luck.
  17. Friendship, right? Already established that Sorrow had a fiance, and he still wishes he could see her to this day, so... Zepher, weren't you the one preaching about Game of thrones about a month ago?
  18. "And there is your answer. She needs somebody who appreciates Alexis Fenral, Arthur. Not Alexis Fenral's body." I give a slight smile and turn around, looking to the night sky above. "I may deny it sometimes, Arthur, but dead hearts do love. Just, just not this one." I put my hand over my ribcage, checking my pulse... my heart was not in the best of conditions. Ragged. Tired. Weak. "At least, not anymore.." "Althior, did your separation make you truly stronger? Or just more volatile? Because if it was the former, you wouldn't be so angry."
  19. B-but she sells skeletons for a living... ... ;tongue: Sensible ones, please.
  20. Karie x Apprentice Kapprentice? If anybody can ship Sorrow, be my guest.
  21. "Believing in chaos is one thing. Trying to do whatever the hell happened below Eubric is another, and after what went down there I'm quite certain you're not going to try it. You're not a Zootist if you despise Zoot. Separate the two, and just live life, Arthur. Order, Chaos, Light, Dark - there is no need to cling onto these principles! You just try to do what makes you happy and try to do whats right. Stop complicating your life with these philosophical questions. The best questions have no answers - and you ask a lot of questions of this world. But you'll get your answer when the time is appropriate. Focus on what truly matters to you, Arthur, and take it. Now: do you love Alexis?" For the love of Helvetia almighty, how did I get so deeply entangled in this?! I run my hand down my face, wondering where this would go. "Helvetia is the goddess of ice. Now, since we all observe her to a degree or respect someone who does, I suggest we all take a bit of an example and cool off. can we at least do this at a table, instead of a Eubric back alley?"
  22. "Ah, Helvetia... I worship herself myself, you know. Of course, I don't mutilate myself up whenever I pray... evident from the fact that I still have everything attached, for the most part." I lower my voice as he brings up Alexis. "Arthur, she misses you. From what I can tell, she just wants someone to love - thus her career choice." I shake my head, then continue. "Me and my fiance were very poor, Arthur. I was working seven days a week, doing the odd job here and there for hours on end. Patrolling, farming, working in an assembly line, even sewing at one point. Many times, I would leave when the sun hadn't yet risen and come home hours after it had set. But, my Sarah... she fared worse. She had to go into harlotry, wanting to contribute to our funds. She hated it, Arthur. It was not my place to judge Alexis, but it isn't a bright path to walk. There is no love. There is no affection. They do not see you as a lover, woman, or even a person. They see you as a tool for their own pleasure - harlotry is, at its core, renting out your body to complete strangers. Thus, I can't say I view the profession in a favorable way. I would at least try to support her, Arthur. She is going to need it. Helvetia knows I wasn't there for Sarah when she needed me..." I stop as Althior comes stomping behind us. i listen to his words, the veil of blue light from my hood veiling a withering stare. I step between both people and hold out my hands, looking each in the eye. The message I delivered was clear - stop before you create a ruckus. I try to remain calm as I address Althior. "No guilt, Althior? Rage can only be a product of it. And you've demonstrated you have quite a bit to let off your back. Both of you, if you're going to converse, do it in a manner that won't wake up every man, woman and child in Eubric."
  23. I raise an eyebrow as the Sorcerer lays his sins bare. "Guilt... Guilt is a very odd thing, Arthur. I had so much of it, I went insane. It doesn't hold me in its vice as tightly now, but it is not an easy thing to rid yourself of. Its a limitless, multiplying burden - and you can't take a single step forward in life without at least losing some of it. Arthur, my accidental death count could very well range anywhere from one to one hundred. Don't let it weigh you down. Allow it to be a reminder of mistakes past, and learn from it. It is a cruel teacher, but if you can survive its methods, a very effective one." I draw myself back up to full height catching a quick glance of the pool of spit on the table. Althior was going absolutely mad, but that wasn't a situation i was capable of remedying. "To the marketplace, I suppose." As we walk on the cobbled streets of Eubric, I keep my hand left hand hanging very closely to my side. The eagle-eyed would notice what appeared to be a sheathed dagger under my cloak, and it was indeed my fanblade. You couldn't be too careful on the streets of Eubric at the nighttime hours, especially of Althior's tale could be trusted... "Ever known a undead before - or perhaps a necromancer or spirit medium? Grew up in a community of the people - jolliest people you could ever meet. Only asking because most are... indifferent, shall I say, to my kind."
  24. You have both a second character and the minstrel class at your disposal. Get creative.
  25. Welp, we're doomed. We'll be too busy figuring out how the thing works on a daily basis to actually use the blasted thing.
