However, most of them are of demonic bent, his army being unable to harm them. The party watches in horror as the Amalgam scoops up the remaining Satellite, serated teeth devouring them and sucking out their essence. The massive demon surges with even more power, faster then ever. His tentacles now have a corona of energy around them, sweeping the entire party in a blast of darkness to discharge the magic. 3. QM Note: I'll let the other heroes to chime in with their strategies before I run this round.
  4. He would be far from the only enemy on the battlefield - and likely the only one to break 100. The heroes have already managed to beat an enemy that essentially equated to Level 160, and Level 120 mooks have been dealt with in the UQ. For the large party I'm intending for that quest, 300 won't seem that much of a stretch.
  5. Oh, no, if my projections are currently lined up correctly, my grand finale boss at the end of the arc may very well be Level 300.
  6. Sorrow has back row advantage on both of them and the second strongest Weapon (WP wise) in the game - if Guts lost the shoes, I'd be very interested in seeing the results of their bout. Also, Guts is most likely not the strongest thing on Uland currently. I have a Level 200+ enemy lined up for 81.
  7. I never realized you embedded so much into those dancing shoes.
  8. I think Sorrow would actually be a decent match for Guts.
  9. What an odd phenomena. Go town! I get the feeling this is reaching a climax.
  10. Ah, so in other words, if we killed them earlier, up until Round 6 would just be a grace period, correct? "Costello, is this their trump card? Or will we have more Knuckles to contend with?"
  11. We defeated them during Round 5, though. Would we have to kill them on Round 4 so they wouldn't come on Round 6? I grunt as the Iron Knuckle's sword comes down. I down a Grand Potion and attack the Iron Knuckle, back.
  12. I'm assuming these are not the reinforcements, just the next wave of battle? I take a few steps back as the metal monstrosity trundles into the room, carrying a formidable sword and massive shield. I take aim at the gold-clad menace, Firing twice at the iron Knuckle from the back row, stopping if I get hit the first time. "Costello, what do you know about this man?"
  13. "You may determine your own destinies to an extent, but they are all so... arbitrary. Meaningless, spending hours, days, years relentlessly hunting down some petty goal or desire. Such miniscule, meaningless goals, certain to be lost in the vagaries of time. And yet... Somehow. Somehow, you manage to destroy every single creature you come in contact with. While trying to exact your pathetic desires, you damage everything around you. You do nothing but quarrel with yourselves, ignite wars, destroy yourselves and everything around you... Only to propogate yourself again, your offspring more worthless then the previous generation. You have stalemated Olegaia to a cycle of destruction for desires that won't even last. And, for that, humanity must be exterminated." >Karie heals herself (back): No heal Heal (11+17=28 HP healed) >Althior uses an Ether Core (back) >Althior VS Blue Oculoid (back): Hit Critical Hit (12x5=60+35+5=100x2=200-3=197 damage) >Johon VS White Oculoid A (back): Special Damage Critical Hit (8x3=24+35=59/2=30 damage) >Johon VS White Oculoid B (back): Steal Steal (35 gold earned) >Satellite A VS White Oculoid A: 20 damage >Satellite B VS White Oculoid A: 20 damage >Satellite C VS White Oculoid B: 20 damage The party bombards the demons with a flurry of attacks. the remaining oculoids dodge and weave, but are struck down one by one, reduced to groaning masses of goo. "Aggghhh... Have I... Failed?" "I'm just going to... Lay this one o-" The battered Blue Oculoid, dripping blood, suddenly goes into a rage. He takes a jab at his equally bloodied comrade, pulling the other two White Oculoids out of their puddles of plasm with his other three tentacles. "Sluggish IMBECILE! Do you not fear reprimandation?!" "I'm... I'm sorry..." With a grunt the Blue oculoid points to the Amalgam's cocoon: There was a hole in it now, apparently made by the Amalgam itself. "The Chief beckons." The four defeated demons slip through the heroe's grasp, rushing into the breached Cocoon. They rejoin with the Amalgam, the mighty demon now swelling back up to its original size. Unable to contain the monstrosity, the Cocoon bursts, glassy shards scattering cross the battlefield. The Amalgam emerges, now surging ith raw power. The formidable Oculoid seems to rush right in front of the party in a blur, its eye brimming with energy. Dark magic crackled through its every tentacle, its inky skin now rippling with ethereal potetncy. The Amalgam was even stronger from his rest inside the cocoon... He cackles and bellows maniacal laughter, his laughter omnipresent and spine-chilling. The party steps back in fear, ready for the final clash. The Oculoid Amalgam summons: >Haste Satellite, Blitz Satellite, Haste Satellite, Technique Satellite, Blitz Satellite, Haste Satellite "GAAAHHH HAH HAH HAH HAHAAAA! Are you ready, heroes? This is it! 18. More puntastic names!

  19. Amidst all of the chattering and hubbub of the hall, a slight rubmling can be heard from outside the hall. Something is heard rising from the ground, just beyond the door... The creature carefully swings the doors of the hall open, not wanting to cause a distraction. He was an odd, if not impressive, specimen: An odd combination of scorpion, mollusk, and crustacean. A set of bars seemed to stand in place of the creature's face, protecting the delicate organs inside. The olive green creature mutters to himself as he makes his way to the quest board. "So this is Heroica Hall. Not bad." The Progg reaches the other end of the hall, staring intently at the quest board. His shoulders sag as he sees the notice, with not many heroes signed up. "Solon... Will not like the sound of this." The Progg takes out a quill, and begins writing...
  20. "As if you wouldn't attempt to stop us anyway! You seem so intent to stick your nose into this, but... We will have nothing of it. I do always like a good meal. As if we would want to hear your inane blathering. We are mind readers... Why bother? With your conscious mind liberated, your true thoughts bubbled forth. It's a common condition." Was the demon speaking truthfully?
  21. "You sound unsure of your own conviction, Witch. A correct feeling, in this case. Your comrades - or, enemies, as I suppose you perceive them - can vouch for me. You said all of those things, and more."
  22. "Do you not recall? You insulted your "comrades", attempted to whip them to death, and admitted that your boyfriend was little more then a "pet" to you."
  23. "You will fail, and you know it, Witch. But even if you somehow triumph, worry not: I'm sure your pet boyfriend would be happy to provide some pity sex. Since, as you said, getting laid is your ultimate desire. Tsk, tsk, tsk... Humanity is so shallow, but you three are a new low."
  24. I just watched Sharknado. I don't even know anymore.

  25. "I like this edition of the Witch quite a bit more than the old one..." The demon muses. >Johon remedies Karie (back) >Karie uses a Grand Potion on Johon (back) >Althior (Light) VS Red Oculoid (back): Special Damage Hit (12+35=47+5=52x2=104 damage) >Althior (Light) VS Red Oculoid (back): Hit Hit (12+35=47+5=52x2=104 damage) >Undead Satellite A VS White Oculoid A: 20 damage >Undead Satellite B VS White Oculoid A: 20 damage >Undead Satellite C VS White Oculoid B: 20 damage >Undead Satellite D VS White Oculoid B: 20 damage >Undead Satellite E VS White Oculoid B: 20 damage >Johon VS Blue Oculoid (back): Special Damage Shield: Ravage (146 gold earned, 8+25=33/2=17 damage to all enemies.) Johon heals Karie from her demonic stupor, her eyes clearing as the liquid goes down her throat. She heals Johon as Althior blasts the Red Oculoid twice, the lazy demon too unintelligent to dodge. The Satellites assault the White Oculoid as Johon ravages them, finishing off the red demon. He is reduced to a puddle of plasm, a red eye still shimmering faintly from within...
